Reviews for Hotel Stadt Gernsbach

Review 1:Close to the railway station and crossing so can be noisy through the night but in fairness this is highlighted on the website.

Review 2:Good location as close to town and short walk from the old town. Superb breakfast. Good sized family room.

Review 3:General effect is depressing. The decor reminds one of pre-1989 DDR,the bathrooms are poorly maintained and badly designed, the door locks encourage guest to slam doors at all hours, but the worst is the total disregard for summer comfort. No shutters, windows left open in heatwaves despite explicit requests to leave the closed, no air conditioning of course. Impossible to sleep without strong sleeping pills.

Review 4:breakfast

Review 5:Stuff was really friendly, helped us with every question and wish we had. Room was big and confortable, and the view from the balcony was great. Located close to the public transportation and also have all neccessary facilities (shopps) just a couple of minutes away.

Review 6:The staff are very very rude No wifi only hotspot at the reception only in the 4th floor The hotel door closed a 10 pm and even the reception. . They are not changing the bedsheets. .. No ventilation in the room ..no airconditioner ..only very small table fun in each room

Review 7:Nothing

Review 8:Reception was on the fourth floor and not manned after 11:00 when the hotel doors are locked. We went to reception several times and no one was available. The room was extreemly noisy as the train lines run past the front of the hotel. There is a car park between the hotel and train tracks where drunken, noisy people from the bar opposite were urinating and shouting until 2:00 in the morning which is not what we expected in the back forest. I reported this to reception the following morning and they smiled and shrugged their shoulders. I suspect its a known problem.

Review 32:great location with access to the black forest. Very good value, breakfast impressive, staff very friendly, very clean and comfortable.

Review 33:There was no plug for the bath so couldn't have a nice bath even though we had specifically requested one. And we only discovered it once reception was closed.

Review 34:The furniture of the rooms is somewhat outdated and the beds are too short for tall people (I'm 1,95m).
