Reviews for Hotel de France
Review 1:Walls a little thin. Could easily heat the snoring neighbor.
Review 2:Beds were comfy and Internet was free and fast. The breakfast buffet wasn't big but it was satisfying.
Review 3:What I didn't like is that there are no amenities like kettle, complimentary tea, coffee, which is very important for the travellers, and it has to be request first before hand.safety deposit box is too small and hard to open with the key.but thank you for friendly and polite staffs. Cheers!
Review 4:I like the cleanliness and maintenance
Review 5:no air condition (a big minus even without the record heat this summer) no bar no restaurant reception staff has deteriorated greatly since the last visit
Review 6:location mattress (firm) and pillows (no neck breakers)
Review 7:Room 103 has a strangely configured bathroom. It will not work if you are over 6 feet tall, as your knees hit the wall while on the commode and you hit your head trying to get up. However, staff was accommodating and changed our room after the first night,
Review 8:Staff was very helpful throughout our stay, helping with parking (which can be a real problem), room changes, breakfast, and directions. Rooms are not overly large but adequate in size with two twins together, nightstands, closet, desk and flat TV. Breakfast was tasty with a selection of eggs and hot meats, cold cheese and meat tays, yogurt and fruit, as well as a variety of rolls and pastries.
Review 9:It's a trend and in a way I also do understand it, but the sheets with rubber layer on the downside they are using to protect the bed mattress is extremely uncomfortable!! The body can't loose the heat and it becomes very oppressive in the bed.
Review 10:My wife was il during our stay, and the staff of the hotel where extremely nice and helpful to make our stay in the hotel as comfortable as possible.
Review 11:no bath in jr suite! little small for a suite parking garage is 8 min walk
Review 12:breakfast was in a nice space and breakfastgirl was very friendly location good price ok if you have a "good deal"
Review 13:Parking Garage was nearby and safe. Beautifully prepared breakfast with a wide range of options. Staff was friendly and accomodating to all of our special wishes.
Review 14:The only issue I had with the Hotel was I was not able to stay longer.
Review 15:As a business professional I frequently travel on short notice. Hotel de France provided a very simple yet elegant room that was breath taking. Coming to my room every night was one of the highlights of my day. My room welcomed me and I was stress free.
Review 16:The rooms are not so biģ. The car park is far away from the hotel
Review 17:The staff are extremily friendly. The safety of the hotel as the doors are locked at night
Review 18:We had to stop at the hotel to get the discounted parking ticket. And there was no place to keep the car in front of the hotel in the meantime. The reception desk staff was not particularly friendly.
Review 19:Very helpful and friendly restaurant staff, nice and tidy rooms. Very tasty breakfast although the assortment was somewhat limited. The Casino park house was very easy and convenient to use.
Review 20:i paid 220 euros for a singe room no air condition. old carper in the room the toilette maybe one square meter the key of the room was broken and it was not my fault i had to wit 3 hours till 2 a.m. to get in the room no apologies from the owner of the hotel. customer care less than zero dont go
Review 21:the breakfast
Review 22:because of the noisy street not possible to sleep with a open window, when u close it it's very hot in the room. almost not possible to connect with wifi anywhere in the hotel .old fashion deco and squeeky floor didn't leave good impression on me.
Review 23:Location was perfect as I came over for Ironman 70.3 Wiesbaden.breakfasts where alright. and staff quiet friendly.
Review 24:In my most humble opinion, this hotel does NOT merit a four star rating. The room was 'basic', clean but nothing more. Being a frequent traveller in the whole of Europe, I have never been asked to pay for a house-trained 2.5 kilogram Yorkshire Terrier by a hotel up to now - This one did. I shall not be visiting this establishment again.
Review 25:Parking was horrible i drove around Wiesbaden for a hour to find a parking spot.
Review 26:The Room was a perfect size for a solo traveler and very comfy.
Review 27:Location
Review 28:Fantastically clean, breakfast is recommended and great location.
Review 29:Dont diser 4 stars hotel

Review 38:Room is a little small.
Review 39:The hotel is lovely, quiet and clean. The staff are very kind.
Review 40:I didn't find the air conditioning....
Review 41:The location
Review 42:The rooms don't have air conditioning, but this generally should not be a problem.
Review 43:Great location, staff and breakfast
Review 44:the rooms were not air conditioned
Review 45:the location , the staff were friendly , the size of the room was perfect ,,,I liked every thing

Review 59:Only 1 elevator, and is very slow
Review 60:Comfortable bed and location Very friendly staff
Review 61:Parking not very close.
Review 62:Location.
Review 63:The room rate was inflated due to an event in Frankfurt
Review 64:The staff were friendly and very efficient.
Review 65:Staff, breakfast internet
Review 66:Restaurant was shut on Sunday
Review 67:Good character hotel. Old rooms were well maintained and furnished in a modern style
Review 68:Wifi didn't work in our room
Review 69:Room was very small, no english channels. breakfast was ok
Review 70:not great value for money
Review 71:none
Review 72:location, staff and breakfast
Review 73:Nothing.
Review 74:Friendly V. Efficient staff. Central location. Off main street room.
Review 75:500 m to the parking (beneath the casino) is a bit too far for a 4 star rated hotel. One of the two rooms did not have any air conditioning resulting in approximately 26 degrees Celsius in the night, making it very hard to sleep.
Review 76:Clean and nice hotel with a good location.
Review 77:I stayed from a Sunday to a Wednesday but as there is no Air conditioning in the hotel the tiny single bedded room, which seemed to be in the attic was unbearably clammy. As a result I had to keep the widow open but on Monday mornings the rubbish is collected from the street and there was an unholy racket from about 6 onwards. There were no other rooms available so had quite an unpleasant stay to be honest in an unbearably small room with single bed and no air, no bath,no tea/coffee making facilities and no DVD player as advertised.( Was given a fan but it made no difference). Incorrectly assumed double bed to be standard.Rooms on 4th floor are basically small attic rooms badly in need of updating. Also no bath just shower. Before leaving I asked to view rooms on the lower floors which I probably shouldn't have as I discovered for €10 more I could have stayed in a very nicely decorated room with a double bed, bath and balcony!(but still no air conditioning).Laughed with hysteria! I was also disappointed with the fact that the garden area, which is advertised as a main attraction on the website, was completely inaccessible due to 'building works' of some kind( although there didn't appear to be anything going on!) Consequently there was no where to lounge or relax within hotel complex which was a bit of a pain in the neck. The lift was the smallest in the history of mankind..two people could fit but barely. In conclusion,if staying there again(which I probably won't as the radisson blu which wasn't too far away and approx similar price is far superior and offers use of pool and spa and is just off a pretty square near high street) I would specifically ask for a room on second floor with a double bed, bath and shower, balcony( for air). Also think that the breakfast, while tasty, was not worth €15. Would recommended going to a nice café in town.Hope this helps and Gute Reise!
Review 78:Breakfast was very tasty and room where it was served was very comfortable. The shower although small was very pleasant.Location was excellent on a beautiful street called Taunus Straße about a five minute walk from main shopping area.
Review 79:very old building inside, awful carpeting everywhere. Thin walls.. we had very small dog and she barked, when we leave her alone, unfortunately it was uncomfortable for everyone. but in another room was small child, who cried all nights long...... it was impossible to sleep
Review 80:location, fast internet
Review 81:1.very small room 2. much smaller bathroom. you cant sit on the toilet comfortably 3. no balcomy, no air condition - actualy no air in the room. if you open the window there is a lot of noise from the street (trucks at night) 4. no parking at all. there is a public park almost 10 minuts from the hotel. 5. very very expensive breakfest we didnt like it at all
Review 82:close to the city center
Review 83:Parking is away from the hotel and can be a little challenging to get to.
Review 84:Location was great, everything clean and comfortable and good value for money. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 85:The Elevator war broken, and my room was on the top floor. The door man offered to carry my luggage upstairs. Being a positive thinker, I regarded it as a workout but an older person might have been in trouble.
Review 86:Parking place. please reserve it in advance, to be sure to have it. If not, park in the street 2Euro/hour (09-18 Mo-Fr)
Review 87:localisation, room design, clean, very tasty breakfast, and service.
Review 88:Nothing!
Review 89:We liked our room - upgraded over Christmas by the hotel. Good quality breakfast. Friendly helpful staff. Very good cleanliness and room care.
Review 90:Excellent service, very beautiful Hotel with comfortable rooms. Very good breakfast - in a very nice area of Wiesbaden. Our Friends enjoyed their stay a lot.
Review 91:Small room, effectively a single room booked as a double. Little or noventilation. Bar is an absolute rip off (Euro 24 for two glasses ofwhite wine)
Review 92:Pleasant intelligent receptionists. Good breakfast buffet.
Review 93:Fans should be provided or at least made available. Parking is offpremises a few blocks away, which is ok once you figure it all out.Bathrooms are tiny ( but very nice).
Review 94:This is a boutique hotel on a street that truly made us feel we were inParis. We had a deluxe double which gave us some extra space. Rooms arevery well decorated and appointed. Bathrooms are small but very nice.Great location. We would definitely stay here again.
Review 95:Personel on the day of arrival was not friendly. Reserved parking wasleft out when changing our booking even though we explicitly asked forit, so we had to park outside on the street for two euros per hour(after 19:00 no charge). Extra bed for our child turned out to be amattrass on the floor. No airconditioning and the temperature outsidewas 35 degrees celcius was not a pleasant combination. Elevator istight. You can barely fit in one person and two suitcases.
Review 96:Room was beautiful with a great view of the Taunusstrasse. Close to thealtstadt. No problem to change booking date on the same day because ourcar broke down.
Review 97:Hotel is rated 4stars and charges 4star prices, the room on the 4th.Floor I was placed in,deserves at best a 1 star rating( !!!!! and I wastold it was an upgrade !!!!!!) I had booked for 3 nights but checked outafter the first night. If you are used to ac in the summer, this is nota place for you. Plastic curtains in the shower in a 4 star hotel???????????? The hotel Schwarzer Bock I stayed in just one week before, charged only 40 $ more for a truly outstanding experience.
Review 98:Restaurant, breakfast, staff
Review 99:The fridge was too small and the elevator is small too. Parking is also a challenge but doable.
Review 100:The hotel itself was really nice. Very convienient for a one person traveler. Very cozy and plenty of space. The location was perfect. Everything you need is within a 5 minute walking distance.
Review 101:The hotel restaurant was very expensive. A glass of red wine was 14 eurofor .2 l glass. It's better to go to the pedestrian area if you planto have more than one.
Review 102:The hotel was located near the pedestrian area. The staff was veryhelpful and polite. The breakfast was a great deal for 8 euros. Thedecor of the room was very good and our room was very clean. Beautifulhotel with great charm and design.
Review 103:The doors are bit thin so you hear what's happening in the hallway. One night after 11pm there was no hot water, kind of a bummer.
Review 104:The receptionist was very helpful. The hotel is very close to the city center and Neroberg. Breakfast is extra, but very good. There is vey strong Wi-Fi in the whole hotel.
Review 105:The only thing-last time we were inthis hotel they made us the roomupgrade for the same price that we had booked the standard room and it was so great. We asked to do the same this time but the reception told there were no free rooms. But it is not a compaint about the hotel because they are not obliged to do this. So still the hotel was great
Review 106:We stayed there the second time already! The location is perfect. Though this time we had a room on the second floor, there was no noise at night. Breakfast is pretty nice for such a small hotel. Had some problem with safe but the staff helped us as soon as we called them. Would deffinately recommend this hotel
Review 107:car parking-nightmare also hotel didnt explain that if I stayed in this room either me or my case would have to stay in the corridor. I have wardrobes bigger than this.
Review 108:position
Review 109:The reception closes after 19:00, which makes you feel staying in a bed an breakfast instead of a hotel. Our room (junior suite) was clean and spacious, but did not have a bathtub. The design/distribution of the room did not show any sign of taste (is subjective I know, but still). Especially the furniture and the art were terrible.
Review 110:The location is great: close to many good restaurants and the city center.
Review 111:No cons
Review 112:This was a really nice hotel for the price. Well kept and friendly staff they upgraded me when I arrives to a very nice room no extra . Everything is on the stripe that the hotel on located on and for the price it was a great deal. I will be returning.
Review 113:The room is incredible small, you can hardly turn around; the bathroomis even smaller- it is no more than 90 cm wide (less than 3 feet) andthere is quit a challenge to use the closet. When you bend to wash yourteeth you are half way in the bathroom and half way in the room. Alsothe bed is on one of the exterior walls and there is a constant cold airbreeze on your had..i had to turn my self around at a certain moment inthe middle of the night.
Review 114:The breakfast was ok
Review 115:Finding a parking spot close to the hotel is not straightforward. However, we were able to stop just outside for long enough to unload andreload our baggage. Once the car is parked, we could visit the city onfoot and didn't need the car again until we left.
Review 116:Friendly, efficient staff; great location, fantastic value for money, nice bathroom and shower
Review 117:Staff were excellent, welcoming and friendly. Value for money for the breakfast is excellent, €8 but worth a lot more, great selection of fresh items and cooked items. Lovely room and only 5 minutes walk from main shopping area and a selection of restaurants. Free wifi is also great especially for me as a business traveller.
Review 118:Noisy room (on street side) - hard to get a good night's sleep. Too hard bed - not comfortable. No light in the staircase at night (around 22:00 and onwards) - totally dark! Asked at the reception but they just told me that there is no light available at night, seems like the lightswitch is all automatic turning off the light after a certain hour. However, the lights in the corridors by the rooms are activated by motion detectors, so taking the elevator works. Breakfast buffet OK, although somewhat limited.
Review 119:Good location, close to the city center. Nice old building. Fresh bathroom.
Review 120:Must reserve parking ahead... a wine festival meant street parking was very difficult this time in Wiesbaden;(
Review 121:We had a lovely, large room facing the garden area. The location is perfect for walking the Alt Stadt. One of the best breakfasts we have had in Germany:)
Review 122:Public parking is expensive but free on Sunday.
Review 123:We get an upgraded room which have more space. Room facilities are good and breakfast is nice. Location is very good and close to a great Thai restaurant, Erawan with a minute walk. Many shops on the same street. So convenient.
Review 124:Large rooms with high ceilings. Some have balconies overlooking terraced gardens. Service excellent - both before arrival (email communication) and during our stay. Location perfect in centre of delightful town. Breakfast definitely worth the 8 Euros per person - wonderful selection of German meats and cheeses plus very fresh rolls and pastries. Ended up staying at Hotel de France twice within 10 days as loved it so much the first time.
Review 125:Old lift, that's all. But that goes with the hotel ambience anyway, so not really a problem.
Review 126:Lovely hotel. Well appointed, great service, helpful staff. Great position, both ways.
Review 127:Just spent a very nice stay in the Hotel de France, we traveled here fora wedding in Wiesbaden, and chose this Hotel on the internet, we wherevery pleased with the service we had at the hotel, the staff were brill, giving us usefull directions, when needed, a little disapointed thatthere resurant wasn't open, but we found a great one just a few yardsdown the road. We would certainly return again.
Review 128:Small lift. As we have been with pushchair, it makes a little problem. But I don't think that many people going to Wiesbaden with baby, so youcan count this as irrelevant. Also not easy to park in front of hotelfor unloading, but it is town common problem.
Review 129:Really great experience. We booked the Austrian Junior Suit withhandmade furniture for 2 adults and baby daughter. Size of the roomwasn't big as suppose to be, but you should understand that this is veryold town spa town, and it is impossible to get really big room in thecity center. On the town outskirts-no probs, but not in the center. Roomhad entrance in the garden. Food was great, breakfast is reallydelicious.Staff is very helpful. Home cinema in the room. Located on theshopping street, but amazingly quiet inside. 10 min walking to mainsights. Good shower and 5stars hotel toiletries. Private garage in 7-10min walking with automatic door and your private remote control just for12 euro per night(for Wiesbaden it is top of luxury).Overall excellentexperience.
Review 130:no disappointments!!! great hotel!
Review 131:Actually it is the best price-quality hotel in Germany (we travel a lot here). The location is more than perfect, right in the center of the town, though it was very quiet at night. the room was surprisingly big (they might have done the room upgrade), the bed was very comfortable. there is a stereo system as well in the room. the bathroom was very clean and there was a bath - not a shower as usually in this type of hotels. The hotel personnel was very friendly, gave us good advice about the cafes/restaurants. the rooms are very cosy and decorative. Would def-ly stay there next time since Wiesbaden worth it!
