The room was big enough for opening 2 large suitcases at once,without using the bed, and there was a good amount of hanging space for 2 in the wardrobe.

Review 23：Lovely Hotel with period character, but modern and clean feeling, nice balconies. Great breakfast, friendly staff. Pool and spa were excellent. Our rooms in the Annex we very smart. We taxi'd into town and walked back. Also walked along a nice garden footpath to the Roman Amphitheatre, only 10 min's away.

The food was excellent, after our first evening meal we opted to eat in the hotel for the next three nights and were not disappointed at all. Breakfast had many choices and was also excellent.

Review 31：Loved EVERYTHING about this small luxury hotel. We were in the Stockholm room which is lower down and doesn't quite have an expansive view of Trier. We felt secluded and private. The breakfast was excellent. We also had dinner here which was delicious. There is limited onsite parking and an overflow parking area just up the street.

Review 41：The food, the facilities, the staff are all fantastic. Trier and the area is an attractive part of zgermany. The restaurant is excellent and great value but here is a Brahaus, Zum Alten, which if you want a change of food is very close and also excellent. Its on the same street. Also a typical small German bar just across from Brahaus, Zum Gelleberg, that is handy for watching football with excellent cheap beer. Only a fifteen walk into town. Superb Hotel stayed, before for five nights, this time nine and definitely will go back.

Review 43：A hotel that exudes quality, attention to detail and especially welcoming. Breakfast is amazing, we have travelled a lot and never experienced the attention to a meal like this before. Dining in the evening on the terrace was also another real highlight. Could not recommend Hugel enough.

The terrace was wonderful to have drinks on, the pool was great and the sauna is amazing (Americans should prepare for nude saunas...husband was surprised!). The staff was extremely attentive and helpful with all questions and needs. The room was big and bright and the shower was wonderful.

Employees were all very friendly and helpfull.

The genuinely friendly staff reflect how well managed this hotel is; no fuss, but everything is in it's place. We enjoyed afternoon tea/coffee and cake upon our arrival and after dinner in town, a drink on the terrace before retiring. The hotel is very well situated, viewing the town which is a short walk away. Our room was very comfortable and breakfast - how can I begin to describe the spread - such a delicious variety! Our only regret - we should have stayed more than one night!

BUT we should not have worried as the hotel and especially the staff were excellent. The rooms, food and facilities were superb, especially the saunas. If you like saunas this is the place to stay. If ever we are back in Trier we will return to the Hotel Villa Hügel and hopefully the roads will be back to normal.

Food was organic and really good. A vast choice of food for breakfast including a full cooked breakfast if you preferred this. Staff even remembered my birthday by laying on a decorated breakfast table, flowers, wine and special muffins. Can't praise this hotel enough, really great, wouldn't hesitate to return.
