Reviews for Sercotel Alfonso XIII

Review 1:Smart hotel but limited facilities no bar other than a free instant coffee area off the reception the restaurant may have been good but when we were interested it was closed so we didn't go back.

Review 2:Reasonable value

Review 3:The Breakfast was not acceptable. The supposedly hot food was cold both days. Even though we complained after the first morning about this , and the lack of quantity,no notice was taken!! The second day was just the same. Also free coffee and snack provision was not monitored, as several times there was no availability. This hotel should not be advertised as 4 star, We have stayed in 2 star hotels as good.

Review 4:Unfortunately there wasn't a bar at the hotel however there were plenty to chose from 50 meters from the hotel

Review 5:The receptionist was very welcoming and helpful and the location was perfect for seeing all the sites on foot

Review 6:Walls a little thin and noise carries

Review 7:The rooms are spacious and clean, beds are big. We were there for the Romans and Carthags weekend it is fantastic

Review 8:I had some programs on a flash drive to watch on the TV. The TV's in the hotel had a fault which whilst you could select the program on the flash, it would not expand to a full screen. Staff said the problem was being addressed.

Review 9:Good location for the Roman ruins we went to see. Everywhere was only a 10 minute walk.

Review 10:The window to room 1511 was obstructed by exterior signage so room was dark.

Review 11:Good location 15-20mins walk to main centre On main road so easy to find. Quiet location Breakfast was excellent

Review 12:Pretty Much Everything . . . Property is not as pictured . . . nor asdescribed. Rooms (and we were moved from one to another) were withbeaten up and ugly plain sparse furnishings, bed was most uncomfortableand with soiled sheets.Front desk clerk was rude and couldn't care less about need for a quiet room and put us next to a maids service closet and dumb waiter that went all night long. In addition, lazy clerk tried to claim he had no other rooms available to move us to . . . yet when I shoved my phone in his face (their own reservation website) and showed him that there was in fact at least 7 rooms available, that is when he moved us into just as horrible room next door to the first. Internet wifi also was below par and worthless with little signal strength anywhere but in one small area of the 'upper' mid-lobby walkway.

Review 13:Nothing . . . horrible experience from walk-up to the counter toleaving.

Review 14:There was no bar in hotel. Please update descriptive details on website as it was a consideration when we booked the hotel.

Review 15:Staff friendly and helpful. Handy parking. Breakfast selection excellant

Review 16:Large room with mini-fridge, table and 2 chairs. The underground garage is secure but small. Free tea and coffee machines on mezzanine floor. Easy walk to main part of town.

Review 17:What it wasn’t 100% great was the wifi as you needed to logging in every time.

Review 18:This was my second time staying in this hotel and I really enjoyed as the first time was just one night and couldn't appreciate it to the fullest. Now I stayed for a few days and it was great, very close to everything, the staff is very friendly and polite.

Review 19:Our bedroom window overlooked a wall. Not really a problem as we wereout all day.

Review 20:Receptionist very helpful and professional. Everything spotlessly clean.Room large. Complimentary coffee, tea and cakes available all day.Breakfast selection very good with english and spanish produceavailable. Check In and Out very efficient. We would stay here again.

Review 21:Bar was not open so we took a couple of bottles of wine to our rooms ...no problem .

Review 22:No problems with our booking and the hotel had placed us all together as requested. Parking was simple at €13 per night in underground car park beneath the hotel. Rooms were spacious and comfortable and spotlessly clean. Good size bathroom with Jacuzzi bath (powerful jets so don't use bubble bath ! ) Wi Fi worked well although a bit slow at peak times . reasonable choice of food at breakfast with plenty of fruit ,yoghurt , pastries etc. as well as Spanish or English breakfast choice. Free coffee and pastries in bar area where we spent a couple of hours playing scrabble . We all agreed this is a really nice hotel in good location for seeing sights etc. and we will return

Review 23:Not much to dislike.

Review 24:The reception staff were very polite and friendly. The hotel itself is in a very good location and although our room overlooked the main street, there was very little noise, if any. The room was well furnished and the bathroom clean. The jacuzzi bath is a nice touch. We didn't have breakfast but because we were staying for a weekend it would have entitled us to half price.

Review 25:Parking a little expensive at €13 a night.

Review 26:Location,easy to find, there is a nice bar and tapas in their other hotel which is at the back of the hotel you can walk through to it from Sercotel

Review 57:Service is fantastic

Review 58:Location and helpfull staff

Review 59:Great location staff were particularly helpfull and knowledgable particularly about the events taking place on Good Friday it helped us enormously thank you

Review 60:Bath leaked and flooded the room small TV - not a problem for us but very old fashioned and bad reception

Review 61:Large rooms Breakfast but it was on offer so good value Good location if you keep to the right of town as you walk down - the left is virtually a slum area - not the fault of the hotel!

Review 62:The view from the room was poor but you can't do anything about that. I would have liked tea and coffe facilities in the room.

Review 63:Loved the room. The Spa Bath and Shower. Breakfast was good with lots of selection and the hot food was hot.

Review 64:Hot food at breakfast was on the cool side. Three of the party had to move rooms due to water ingress. New room suffered from the same problem (? air-con?)

Review 65:Friendly, helpful staff. We were out most of the time so didn't really use any other facilities.

Review 66:A really good breakfast selection it was such a shame that all the hot selection was lukewarm at best.

Review 67:Hotel was better than expected. Would go again even with the cold food issue.

Review 68:Free Tea/Coffee is advertised across hotel as available in "Fun" zone. But it was not available there. Machine was broken. they better remove/mask that advertising until the offer is really mae available.

Review 69:God location. walking distance from historical pedestrian area.

Review 70:The fact that a triple room was in fact a double room with an extra bed which then cut down on space, even though there were more people in the room.

Review 71:The children liked the fact that they could play computer games and access the internet. We also enjoyed breakfast.

Review 72:A very welcoming hotel within walking distance to port, shops, museums bars restaurants. Stayed two nights and didn’t need to use the car as everything was so accessible. Cartagena is a very interesting place for a short city visit.
