Las Villas de Antikaria

Las Villas de Antikaria descritpion
This Roman-styled hotel is located in the heart of Andalusia, a 10 minute walk from the center of the ancient city of Antequera.
Surrounded by numerous churches, convents and other historic monuments, the Las Villas de Antikaria is steeped in history. The whole city is dominated by the Moorish-style Alcazaba (fort) and the mountains of the Torcal. The hotel itself matches its surroundings, with polished marble floors and rich, dark woods.
After a day’s sightseeing you can return to try the best of Andalusian cuisine in the hotel restaurant, or tapas in the cafe. You can then head to the rooftop terrace to enjoy the fantastic views of the city.

Reviews for Las Villas de Antikaria
Review 1:They wanted to charge us a parking space, althoug we booked in advance a parking spaces free of charge.
Review 2:They are offering also dinner and breakfast, which is good value for the money.
Review 3:Mini bar was not working but it was a very minor thing - I was going to cool down some water over the night in it :)
Review 4:Close to the city centre. Personel open and helpful. Even though we do not speak Spanish at all we were able to communicate in English.
Review 5:Lack of hot water. The poor standard of food served at breakfast. And complete lack of customer service.
Review 6:The location of the hotel was good for the city centre.
Review 7:Though quickly fixed, when we arrived the cupboard door was stuck and no English Tv was available. It was three star.
Review 8:Good access to the old city plus great parking area and easy exit from city.
Review 9:whole attitude of Bar Manager, rude arrogant, ignorant, always served Spanish guests before us and even if right in front of him, still ignored us,this hotel only suited for Spanish guests who get preferential service.asked for breakfast in the morning, and we are still waiting, had to ask receptionist if there was any breakfast as we were (breakfast included,) she came through and served us,will tell everybody not to go there as you wont be welcome by him at all. Sad!! also no british tv channels at all overated hotel not worthy of 1 star!!!!!
Review 10:nothing!
Review 11:Staff had very little English which made meal times "interesting". Menu of the day translation into English was pretty random.
Review 12:Antequera makes a good base for driving to Seville, Granada, Cordoba and Ronda. Hotel easy to find and has secure parking.
Review 13:Location is bad as out of town (15min walk) and noisy. Aircon not working in our room, no room change offered but given a fan. Therefore poor sleep with open windows to a very busy road. Did get a discount though after complaining. Pictures are very misleading - no "garden" or nice terrace! Staff ok, but can hardly speak English.
Review 14:Wifi, good room size.
Review 15:Air conditioning not great. One extra bed not ready in time No left luggage facility
Review 16:Dinner in restaurant was good with friendly waiter. Allowed late check out because no luggage room
Review 17:Not able to organise early breakfast (nothing available before 08:30).
Review 18:Very helpful receptionist found us a train connection for the morning, saving us €20 on the taxi fare. Just a few minutes walk from Antequerra Ciudad station but be warned, Antequerra Sant Ana station is in the middle of nowhere, 18km away from the village.
Review 19:The hotel is a bit dismal and soulless
Review 20:Far from Santa Ana train station
Review 21:Great location and dinner on site was nice and delicious!
Review 22:Excellent value for money
Review 23:walking distance of bars and restaurants
Review 24:Clean and neat room, safe parking, interesting town, great staff, and short driving distance from Granada, Gibraltar, Cordoba, and Seville.
Review 25:Our evening meal and breakfast were both not very hot and the waitress was rather off-hand.
Review 26:The room and bathroom was spacious and clean.
Review 27:no complaints
Review 28:everything
Review 29:Breakfast needs to be more organised
Review 30:Most impressed with staff attitude
Review 31:The hotel , although clean and friendly was dated.
Review 32:Great area to visit. Plenty of interesting activities in the area and a beautiful town
Review 33:Handy parking on site, easy access to main roads and motorway, close to city centre
Review 34:Poor heating facilities spoiled our stay here on cold January day.
Review 35:No complaints.
Review 36:Impressed by man at reception (night shift) who offered me a sherry while I was checking-in, liked his dry humour. Rooms good, breakfast surprisingly good. Very good value for money.
Review 37:The receptionists were grumpy and unhelpful - many could speak little orno English. It was often difficult to locate a receptionist as the hotelseemed under- staffed. We were not offered a street map but found one onthe counter - no info offered, no welcome no smile! The room wasadequate except that on the booking confirmation it clearly stated 'wifi in all areas' however we could not get wifi in our room so had tosit in a chair in the corridor to get a signal. The booking confirmationform stated toiletries were provided - we were provided with 2 sachetsof something - presumably bath gel - but no English writing - and thesewere not replenished. There was inadequate toilet paper provided. Whenwe went down for breakfast this was in the bar - we had to extract thisinformation. When we went into the bar the barman, who didn't speakEnglish, handed us a menu when we asked for the breakfast arrangements -this was a bar snack menu with pork loin etc on it. When we queried thishe grunted the words ' ham and cheese' - my husband went to ask thereceptionist ( who turned out to be the manageress) what the breakfastfood was - she explained ham and cheese and toast and coffee and orangejuice. This was given to us in the bleak surroundings of the bar. Onchecking - out the receptionist could not use the credit card machine (saying it was Sunday and slow!) we had to pay cash. There was no problemwith the same card in any other hotel on our 2 week holiday. We asked ,the evening before checking out, for a taxi to be ordered to take us tothe station in the morning ( a short 4 or 5 minute car journey) we hadtaken a taxi from the station to the hotel 2 days previously.
Review 38:There is nothing good to say about this hotel except that the locationis fine - very near the bullring which has an excellent restaurant -great lunch. The hotel itself was very disappointing.
Review 39:Breakfast was fine but if you wanted orange juice or cereal you had to ask for it.
Review 40:The reception and other staff members were very friendly and helpful. The bar staff were particularly pleasant. The rooms were big and extremely clean. There was a quiet and calm atmosphere about the place. The location was great, just a short walk up the high steps, past the bus station and the park to find a lively area particularly at night.
Review 41:Everything about the hotel was amazing. I loved the way breakfast wnt on late and there was no rush to get out of bed. All the staff were friendly and spoke whenever we passed. We often got complimentary drinks which was a lovely touch. We were made to feel very special by everybody.
Review 42:We arrived late and than water in the shower was a little bit warm, andnot hot... Maybe it was our personal problem with shower maybe not :)
Review 43:We stayed at this hotel with 3 kids for 1 night. We reserved 2 separaterooms: Suit and regular tripple room. Evrything was great - both roomswere clean. Stuff on reception were very helpfull. Resturant was good -we have a nice dinner and than breakfast! I personally would recommendthis hotel!!!
Review 44:We found that the breakfast was more than sufficient , and appreciatedthe service in the bar where we could always get a drink and somethingto eat at a reasonable price at any time of the day. All the staff inthe bar area were friendly and helpful and made one feel relaxed .Alsothe bed and pillows very comfortable, which is not always the case.Would certainly stay here again.
Review 45:It was a bit noisy at night , the other guests seemed to gather outside our room as there was a seating area and it could be extremely noisy especially as I had a young family with me, also the lack of English was a bit of a concern , the hotel receptionist tried to give me my bill a second time and I was trying to explain to her that I had already paid but it took several tries before she understood me .
Review 46:I liked the staff and the fact that they were so child friendly , the cleanliness of the rooms was excellent and the location was ideal for our needs.
Review 47:We stayed with one child - the extra bed was free of charge. Although the breakfast was included they charged extra for our three years old breakfast. That was not nice.
Review 48:Wifi connexion was poor, we had to sit by the door, almost in thehallway.
Review 49:Big room with a good bed and a comfortable bathroom. The heater/aircosystem functioned well during our stay in January. The room was afterone hour warm enough. Very good Spanish breakfast. Free parking infront. Ten minute walk to the center of Antequera.
Review 50:Everything was excellent. The rooms have been refurbished recently andour 4 bed room was spacious and spotless. The staff were all veryfriendly, helpful and spoke English. Very good value for money and muchnicer than I expected.
Review 51:Only one comment is that the website mentioned that all toiletries were provided, so did not take any, but in fact were very minimal. A very minor point, just remember to bring your own. Otherwise bathroom was very clean and large with good shower.
Review 52:The hotel was located an easy walk to the Centre, and there was plenty of parking available. Rooms were large and very clean and comfortable. The restaurant was good, and a large glass of fresh squeezed orange juice in the morning with breakfast was lovely. Staff were helpful and friendly.
