Reviews for Hotel am Bad
Review 1:Too dark to walk back from town. Nothing much to eat in the evening except snacks from a machine.
Review 2:Nice location by the river and swimmingbaths with a lovely walk into town. Plain but comfortable room with a good bathroom.
Review 3:Our room was large and spotlessly clean. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful (gave us good recommendations for dinner). The location is quiet, away from the center of town, but you can walk there. Very nice breakfast.
Review 4:Hotel o.k a bit dated but clean.Nothing to do in area. Stayed one night as a stop over. Couldn't find a decent restaurant or bar. Strange place. One night more than enough.
Review 5:* Free wifi, almost impossible to find in town * free breakfasts, enough variety that I was not bored even four mornings in a row * pleasant 15-20 walk on wooded path into town centre * honour system for taking drinks and snacks outside breakfast hours, paid for upon checking out.
Review 6:A bit far from the center.
Review 7:Everything was fine.
Review 8:Helpful staff
Review 9:It is all a bit oldfashioned with built-in new rooms. Probably former smoking rooms. Smell is still bad.
Review 10:I liked the quiet location on the Nekar river. Beautiful, a bit outside but still within walking distance from the city.
Review 11:Friendly staff, clean and there was an excellent restaurant at the end of the street - recommended by the hotel and well worth it! Can't remember the name, but there is only one restaurant at the end of the street.
Review 12:Staff were very helpful; location was about 20 mins walk through a forested park from the Tubingen Markrt Place. It was out of town (and therefore quiet) and but close to town for convenience.
Review 13:Breakfast was adequate but boring
Review 14:Good place as a basis for touring the region and enjoying the casual nightlife. Good beer and wholesome food nearby. Picturesque location. The hotel is a great base but not somewhere where you would spend time.
Review 15:That my schedule didn't let me stay longer.
Review 16:Our room was spacious and suited out needs perfectly. Loved the breakfasts! They were so good and offered such a variety of delectable treats! Loved how close it was to the train station and how easy it was to walk into downtown Tubingen whether by main streets or bike/walking paths.
Review 17:The open air swimming pool (hence the name "am Bad") is literally next door to the hotel (with some rooms overlooking the lawns and sunning areas of the pool) and on the day of our stay the pool had attracted hundreds of visitors, so we had to be alert driving into the hotel carpark with the numbers of kids and pushbikes about. We arrived in the early evening for only a one night's stay, so it did not bother us to much and once the pool closed, tranquility returned.
Review 18:Hotel am Bad is on the outskirts of the lovely very pictoresque university town of Tubingen on the river Neckar. From the hotel it is a good 15 minute stroll through the woods and along the river into the town, so no parking problems. Staff are very friendly and helpful and internet access is provided on checkin. The hotel is more run like a Bed and Breakfast operation, as it does not serve food in the evenings, but at the sports complex next door (reception recommendation) we went to a very good and reasonably priced italian restaurant, where we were the only tourists amongst local families and students(lovely laid back and lively atmosphere). The rooms are spacious and comfortable with a well equipped bathroom and good, powerful shower. The breakfast, included in the room price, was fine.
Review 19:Judging some other comments, we may have actually got a better room.
Review 20:Clean and very decent hotel. Not "deluxe" but quite classic and although furniture is not new, it is well-kept. On the first night we had a noisy solo-neighbour, called reception and silence less than 10 minutes later. Extremely friendly personnel; even had a shirt ironed. Breakfast is above average with homely products. City center is barely 15 minute walk along river park; if you´re lazy, a taxi costs 6-8 euros depending on the hour. Would go definitely return if ever back in Tübingen. Price/quality is not at all bad compared to other options in the city.
Review 21:The beds were a little uncomfortable.
Review 22:The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location was very good: on the edge of town and next to a really good open-air pool.
Review 23:Few eating possibilities without going into the centre (just one bistro-style place down the road), but it's a nice walk!
Review 24:Perfect location for my purposes (arriving by bike): on the very edge ofthe city a minute from the Neckar Radweg, but only a 20-minute walkthrough parkland to the centre. It's right next to the municipalswimming complex, so can be noisy during the day, but that all shutsdown at 8pm and it was very quiet at night. Helpful and accommodatingwelcome - staff speak English. A great base for a rest day on my cycletour (and no problem storing my bike in the garage).
Review 25:No a/c, no ceiling fan, no bath tub, poorly lit bathroom and room, nofridge, simply an old hotel. The TVs are small, old, and of poorquality. I wanted to watch the Eurocup on my tv but the signal made itimpossible; the staff told me it was the weather; the next day thechannels for the Eurocup were still unwatchable; hotel staff inspectedagain and solved the problem by replacing the tv; you'd think for themoney you pay for this spartan rooms you could at least count onwatching tv.
Review 26:After a little arguing, staff reduced my booking from a "3 Bed Room" toa "2 Bed Room". Basically a "3 Bed Room" is a double room with a cotthrown in. We didn't need the thrid bed for our toddler. Location andbreakfast were good.
Review 27:The room was very clean and quiet. Breakfast was good. The dining room was very clean and the fresh flowers were nice. The staff was very helpful and kind.
Review 28:Great location near the city center, park and river. The center is just a short walk along the river, although the bus is available. The staff is friendly and the hotel is quiet. Not modern, but perfectly acceptable for short stays.
Review 29:Very basic. Hot water did not work when we returned late at night. Theowner questioned our need to have hot water at this late hour. Breakfastbuffet rather basic.
Review 30:Not easily found for a first-time visitor in the area. Thank heavens for our GPS.
Review 31:The walk into town was easily do-able. The breakfast was quite good.
Review 32:nothing in particular
Review 33:Staff friendly, room satisfactory, breakfast OK, location suitable for our needs with parking
Review 34:Friendly service.
Review 35:quiet location, excellent breakfast, very friendly and helpfulstaff
Review 36:A little tired, but otherwise comfortable. Breakfast was lovely. Short walk into town along the river
Review 37:Bathroom smelled. Room appeared worn and old.
Review 38:Proximity to old town and nice walks nearby. Quiet.
Review 39:quietness!!!
Review 40:Good location, very quiet and close to the old town. Free parking.
Review 41:No AC availible or wash- coths in bath
Review 42:Good service, loction, and breakfest
Review 43:Nice location: the city center can be reached through a lovely walk of 15 minutes along the river.
