Review 6：Staff at front desk could be a bit more friendly. We had to "dig out" the information. We found out the facilities of the hotel by Dupree, as we were not informed it has a really nice pool and wellness area. For breakfast, even though it was good, I think that freshly squeezed orange juice would be a plus. Finally, the hotel is located a bit in the outskirts, and, therefore, you need the car to go downtown (this was not an issue as there are plenty of parkings in Trier).

Review 9：The hotel is very charming and the stuff is extremely helpful. here are two very nice restaurants with amazing and varied food. Breakfast is very rich. Not in the city-center, but it takes just 6-8 mins to get there by car.

Review 26：When we arrived, we could not find the entrance. Signs were only in german what was a pity. When we entered the restaurant the weitress asked us in, we said we are seeking for the reception, she did not help us and left. So we came back to her, she explained how to get to the reception and that was all. No greeting, smile, nothing. At the reception they gave us a paper to sign where the price was higher because they added a breakfast which we did not order. They explained we did not have to take - so why do you add it in the contract when you did not even ask before? Apart from these inconveniences after the arrival, everything was fine

Review 28：This is a wonderful hotel. The staff was welcoming and very friendly. The room was fantastic(robe, slippers and towels were awaiting. A towel warmer was present in the bathroom and very much appreciated. Recommend it highly to all.

Review 35：Not all the superior rooms have been refurbished yet so you need to ask for a refurbished room if you want one. We were orgininally booked into one of the older style rooms(immaculate though!), but we were immediately changed to another room when we asked. The staff were really helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

Review 38：We spent two nights in this lovely hotel. It is outside Trier but easily reached in a few minutes by bus - the stop is right outside the hotel. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and very helpful. The room (a superior double) was very quiet and spacious, and the balcony space very private and relaxing. The food is excellent (as is their cellar). We had dinner there both nights. There are two restaurants which have different atmospheres but the menu is the same in each. The breakfast buffet offers enormous variety. My gluten free food needs were well catered for - for example I got gluten free rolls delivered to my table every morning at breakfast, and the staff checked with the chef at dinner. If we are in the area in the future, we will definitely return!

Review 39：It was confusing where to go to get seated in the restaurant. Once seated it took over 15 minutes to get a menu. Slow service but good food. We were very close to the table/bench next to us which we found uncomfortable.

Review 40：Beautiful hotel and room. Very quiet. Loved all the decorations and antiques throughout the hotel. We had a problem with our luggage not getting delivered to us and everyone at the front desk was extremely helpful and thorough.

I asked if my room had a balcony and they ended up giving me a room with a balcony for no extra cost. The balcony was the entire length of the room, it was lovely. Beds were nice and comfy...it was just wonderful!

Review 102：Everything! The spa is amazing: sauna, hammam, massage, pool... You have all that you need to rest. The rooms are very nice as well, very comfortable and with a lot of space. And the restaurant... Completely amazing food, it's been a while that I didn't eat like that. The meat is excellent. I've experienced a lot of hotels and I can say that this one is in the top list!!! Review 104：Wonderful place. Long time I didn't max score, but for this hotel I must. From the first view hotel is looking nice. Large, style building with many windows. Personnel is very nice and friendly. They wear clothes composing with all style of the hotel. There are many paints on the walls and furnitures from last ages. Room is wooden designed. Very large and nice. Especially bed is big. Bathroom smaller, but nice too. And 2x2m photo with pig on the wall... I do recommend fitness area and SPA as well. Swimming pool is all the time available. Saunas are designed in old Roma style. Very good breakfasts with large choice of everything, what is the best in German kitchen.

We attempted to open our window, but had to soon close it due to our room filling up with smoke from the people smoking in the restaurant patio right below our room. The restaurant is open until 1:00am, so we were pretty much miserable all night. They have free parking, but good luck trying to find a space. They probably have 20 at the most and many are taken by people going to the overpriced restaurant. This hotel is not close to downtown. If you want to go downtown Trier you need to know there are very few places to park. You can take a bus if you can figure the system out. The hotel staff were not especially friendly, but they were not rude either. I got the feeling this is a two star hotel trying to pretend to be a five star hotel. I would not stay at this hotel again.

No towels in sauna, must bring from room; sauna locker keys available only from hotel reception upstairs so needed to go up and down 3 times)- staff bitching about workload in earshot of bar guests. - plastic flowers on restaurant tables and even in room; sorry but 4 star and plastic? - uncomfortably hot everywhere in hotel, in room opening windows at night too noisy around morning rush hour (traffic) - shuttle train station pick up service no longer available - no English newspaper - there is a ridiculous 6x6 foot painting of two nude women with animal heads 'having it off' in the lobby.
