Reviews for Hotel Römerbrücke
Review 1:we had a problem with temperature in our room (it gets very cold or extremaly hot)
Review 2:excellent breakfast, good location, free parking, very nice staff, comfortable bed
Review 3:Beds a bit too soft, hotel a bit run down. 15 min walk to the city centre.
Review 4:Friendly staff, great breakfast for only 5 EUR. Beautiful view with the ancient Roman bridge and the river - if you pay extra for a room on that side.
Review 5:A bit uncomfort in the terms of the luggage if you are in the room opposite the elevator (some stairs up and dowm the corridor).
Review 6:The view at the breakfast and breakfast only costs 5 EUR per day. Hotel parking is on the opposite side of the road, free of charge, you get the key for the ramp. Close to the city center, approx. 15 minutes by foot, few minutes by car, with plenty of choice to park in the garages.
Review 7:Lift only went to 1st floor for part of building and decor very tired. However it was clean and comfortable. Would be nice to have a kettle/tea making facilities instead of TV!
Review 8:Great welcome - staff could not have been more kind and helpful - and plenty of free secure parking across road plus good supermarket nearby. Easy walk across bridge into town and excellent breakfast in dining room overlooking river. Good wifi.
Review 9:In our bathroom, no any bath/shower gel or shampoo provided. Asked hotel staff and were told run out of. The next day, we asked again, the hotel staff came to our room and carried some liquid in a plastic cup. We were told to use the liquid in this plastic cup as bath/shower gel and shampoo.
Review 10:Good location, not luxury but comfortable cozy hotel. Good breakfast.
Review 11:The hotel was clean, but is in desperate need of facelift. One can smell the kitchen odour in the hotel restaurant.
Review 12:Friendly staff. Parking on site. Riverside view. Old town 5 min away - across the bridge
Review 13:The room was on the fourth floor there was a lift but only to the first floor and the stairway was a steep climb to the room. The room was directly above the busy main road and the traffic noise was terrible all day and untill. two a.m.in the morning. The windows had to be kept closed so that we could get peace to sleep. This also made tryind to sleep unbearable in the warm weather as there was no airconditioning in the room. The car park was acrossthie busy street from the hotel and made transporting luggage to and from there to the hotel very hazardous
Review 14:Riverside veiw from the restuarant
Review 15:No restaurant on Sunday, which was the only night we stayed - but plenty of places to eat in town so not a problem.
Review 16:Good location, just a short walk from the old town of Trier.
Review 17:Nothing
Review 18:We have stayed at this hotel before. It is conveniently situated for a one-night stop on route to other places in Germany. Nice rooms and an excellent breakfast. Friendly and attentive staff. We will stay at Roemerbrucke again
Review 19:Noisy, small and hot room. In the middle of the night every hour a train passed by. It rained at night and because it was so hot we had to open the window, because it was open it rained in. We canceled our second night as we wanted to stay somewhere where we could enjoy our rest.
Review 20:Location was decent
Review 21:The breakfasts were extremely good and certainly value for money. Excellent location yet quiet. Efficient and welcoming staff and we really had a memorable stay and would definitely return.
Review 22:Excellent situation overlooking the river. Easy walk into the old part of Trier. Trier is a great place for an overnight on way to further reaches of Germany and Austria. And this hotel fitted the bill entirely.
Review 23:Excellent facility to store bicycles. free parking. The location is perfect for the Mosel cycleway and for short walk/ride to central Trier. Without the nightlife noise.
Review 24:This Hotel was I'm sure once great, but is now very tired. My room (308) was clean, but no lift to the 3rd floor, the corridor carpets were once red but now a dusty brown. The parking is across the road and not secure. My single room was not worth 60 Euro. No bar just drinks from a machine.
Review 25:Wi-Fi
Review 26:The photos flattered to deceive. This is a run down tatty hotel. Booking.com customers seem to be given rooms overlooking the main road into Trier. Hardly slept because of the noise. Don't be fooled by the photos. These are a long shot from away across the river. Unfortunately one of our party had paid the bill before I had had chance to complain.
Review 27:Very little. Probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in Germany!!!
Review 28:The hotel is too close to the road and crossroads, so the rooms are very noisy. The hotel has very old furniture and the renovation is needed, the lift is not available to almost half of the rooms, no air conditioning or even fans in the room.
Review 29:Free private parking, breakfast, cleanliness, staff very friendly.
Review 30:Free parking but it was across the street from the hotel.
Review 31:Staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. Good location within walking distance to the old part of Tier.
Review 32:Old hotel with old furnitures
Review 33:It has a nice location with perfect, friendly and amiable staff. Also breakfast was one of the best We have ever had compared to its price
Review 34:Very noises at night - we had the windows open because it was hot and people walked around outside in area and was very loud
Review 35:Close to trier town - great to walk
Review 36:No tea making facilities.i know its not common practice in Germany but it would not be too much trouble andso welcome .
Review 37:Helpful staff.river view,watching the barges,baby ducks.
Review 38:Because the hotel is near the hospital, sirens were heard at all times of the day and night.
Review 39:The staff at the hotel are great and always helpful. The restaurant and outdoor patio overlooking the Mosel is very quaint. The food is excellent. Many Roman ruins are within a half hour walk - great location!
Review 40:The room we were in hadn't been used in a while and glasses had lipstick stains on them. However, that was really the only bad part of our experience. The room was clean otherwise!
Review 41:We liked the room. We stayed in an apartment with 3 rooms and a very large bathroom. It was perfect for the night.
Review 42:Just missed tea in the morning - would be a nice addition to the rooms.
Review 43:Happy place to be - friendly staff and happy guests!! The Breakfast was fabulous.
Review 44:Wrong side of town for train travellers, lack of lift with 20kg suitcases
Review 45:Good room, great bathroom, good breakfast, dinner on the deck very romantic, reasonable price, great staff.
Review 46:No facilities for coffee or tea making in the room.
Review 47:German style hotel as opposed to 'look alike' chain hotel. Hotel overlooks the Mosel river and there is parking available free of charge. The breakfast and evening meals are good value and the staff very pleasant and helpful. I would happily revisit.
Review 48:Rooms can be noise due to thin walls, but no noise fromoutside nor from the corridor.
Review 49:Location, besides the Roman bridge, 5-10 minutes short walk to city center. Quite hotel by the river. Restaurant has a very good menu for dinner.
Review 50:The pillows were very soft, floppy as though half of the filler was missing. I like a firm Pillow. Maybe someone else would like. The garage that is used to store bikes has the septic gas pipe feeding into it rather than outside. This really should be fixed as it might be a great deterrent to guests who happen to be standing outside the garage door when it goes up!
Review 51:Breakfast was compared to none. Beautiful and spacious dining space. Staff very accommodating. Good location to city center. Might be too much of a walk for people without car or bike if they are not used to walking.
Review 52:Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely location of hotel beside the Mosel river and beside the old Roman bridge, hence name Romerbrucke. Close proximity to town; loved walk up to Markusberg village.
Review 53:Rooms very dusty, including a large spider on the curtains at arrival. Walking distance (±1km) to town centre but quickest route is through the "adult entertainment" part of town.
Review 54:Lovely staff and breakfast, baby bed and high chair set up ready for use
Review 55:Unfortunately we were given a room at the back of the hotel next to a busy road/traffic lights instead of on the side of the river. It was noisy and the curtains were so thin they didn't block out the light from the street at night. The room was too hot, even though it was cold outside and we didn't have the heating on. Impossible to leave the window open because of the noise.
Review 56:The room was very clean and the breakfast was good. It was handy to have a free car park nearby.
Review 57:We were located in a back room with no drink making facilities overlooking overflowing wheelie bins. Located by main road. No view of river. Left one day early.
Review 58:Bathroom was functional with twin sinks and bedet. Breakfast was 5 euros and sufficient.
Review 59:no flat tv sreen but a normal computer screeno possibility to watch TV from your bed/ no wi fi connection except during the night from 1 :00 AM to 6:00PM / one of the bed was destroyed , no way to sleep on it, i have to use the other part of the bed / the day after I complain to the recption, no discount made / not a full view on the river as mentionned but only a side view ( room 301 ) , nearly 90 € including breakfast too expensive according to the lack of services
Review 60:near to town / room very clean
Review 61:Twin beds put together to form a double bed is never comfortable if you are sleeping close to your significant other as one of you may always fall partly in the gap between.
Review 62:Comfortable stay at a very well-located hotel with a historic feel and helpful and kind staff. The view and proximity to the river, its siting across from the centre (yet so proximate) and its hinterland with the hill and Mariensaele were additional advantages. The hotel's eating facilities looked (and smelled) good, though we did not use it. The parking across the hotel was very convenient, too.
Review 63:Rooms are very basic could use some updating but ok for value.
Review 64:The staff was excellant, very friendly and accommadating. Breakfast was very good and great value for money. Actually, for a three star hotel overall great value fir the money. Also great location on river and nice walk to old town.
Review 65:The breakfast was so good. After bread & cheese of Belgium the choice here was wonderful plus view over the river too. The location was perfect for a walk into the centre of town.
Review 66:Nothing. Tea/coffee making facilities and mini fridge would be nice
Review 67:Location good short walk from town center. Staff couldn't have been better very helpful and friendly. Comfortable bed and good heaters in both room and bathroom.
Review 68:nothing!
Review 69:Hotel was lovely. The staff were wonderful. So helpful. There is an elevator. Lovely restaurant for dining inside or outside overlooking the river. We really enjoyed our stay. We had 3 rooms all bright, clean and comfortable
Review 70:This was a very weird set up. A Garden area in between 2 rooms, and no curtain that would close all the way. So we could see people in the other room, and vice-versa, and our room was visible to people walking in the hallway. No way for any privacy at all.
Review 71:Breakfast was great.
Review 72:Our weary faces were greeted with friendly smiles at 10 PM. We were traveling with a baby; the family room has two spacious, separate bedrooms. The breakfast was delicious and the room overlooks the river/Roman Bridge. We'll definitely stay here again!
Review 73:Restaurant closed on sunday evenings, no restaurant near by.
Review 74:The service. The restaurant provided good meals , reasonably priced.Parking for hotel guests provided for small payment. Access to town, although a 20 minute walk to centre.
Review 75:Nothing!
Review 76:Ease of access to town but peaceful on riverbank. Excellent restaurant with balcony dining. Staff were very helpful. Good breakfast. Really good free, private parking.
Review 77:Nothing not to like.
Review 78:Location on the river made for a lovely setting. Removed enough from town that it was relatively quiet, yet close enough that we could leave our car on the hotel lot (staff suggestion) and walk to the sights. Very accommodating staff, even offered to keep the kitchen open late so we could eat dinner. Food was very nice prepared and tasty. Front desk staff were all super friendly and helpful and spoke very good English. I would highly recommend the place and would certainly stay again. Trier is a treasure not to be missed. Lovely breakfast, too, with American bacon and scrambled eggs in addition to the typical German-style options, which I always enjoy.
Review 79:Restaurant was closed during my visit - or told to be closed but there was some private happening. No bar open neither. Despite of historic location at river Mosel the surrounding was not very nice. Couple of (permanently?) closed restaurants/pubs nearby. Some distance to historic city center of Trier (which was not a problem as I knew it).
Review 80:Hotel was very much like I expected. Nice location next to old Roman Bridge with reasonable price. Room was similar than in normal business hotel, actually better than one can expect by this price class. Friendful staff.
Review 81:As we were in this hotel over the weekend there was quite a bit of noise from late night revellers crossing over the bridge.
Review 82:Hotel was clean and comfortable. We had a room looking over the river which was lovely.
Review 83:Hotel a bit dated and some oddities in the layout - could use a facelift. Distance to the Porta Nigra and other sites was a very long, unattractive walk. Reserve bikes from the hotel.
Review 84:Perfect location. The view of the river and the Roman Bridge was the best thing about our stay in Trier. The staff was friendly, good breakfast, and did I mention the view? Always ask for a river view room. Parking not a problem. WiFi worked pretty well.
Review 85:Would have liked tea/coffee facilities It was quite warm so had windows open therefore a lot of traffic noise
Review 86:Beds really nice Breakfast really good Free parking Nice walk into Trier
Review 87:Spartan room furnishings that brought to mind Ikea. Dated bathroom with a useless shower head and a drain that mostly didn't.
Review 88:Friendly and welcoming staff. Superb dining experience.
Review 89:Leaving. No tea in room (I probably should have asked but just too tired on arrival. Breakfast tea excellent)
Review 90:Excellent value for money. Very good convienent car parking. The staff and ambience made me feel instantly at home and I hope to stay longer next time .
Review 91:Could do with a proper lounge to relax in perhaps.
Review 92:Breakfast is excellent. Good choice of dinner menu. Sensible chambermaid arrangements - meant we didn't have to rush out. All staff were helpful, cheerful and a pleasure to deal with. We will be back! That's for sure!
Review 93:Our room was overlooking a busy main road junction adjacent to the illuminated Hotel/Bitburg advertisement sign. The noise of heavy trucks crashing over the deformed road, particularly in the early morning, and the light pollution from the sign was not adequately reduced by the good double glazing or the thin curtains. At the time the hotel was full so we were unable to swop rooms. However I would still recommend the hotel but only if a room facing the lovely Mosel river was available.
Review 94:Location. Staff.
Review 95:Hotel needs a face lift. Carpet, drapes, every thing very dated. Too bad because it had many good qualities.
Review 96:Easy to get to. Nice friendly helpful staff. Beautiful on the river, outdoor dining, very good food.
Review 97:unfortunately we had a room on the main road so it was somewhat noisy first thing in the morning
Review 98:very convenient just across the river & a short walk to the centre, ideal base for visiting the area
Review 99:nothing.
Review 100:the breakfast on the terrace overlooking the river in the morning was fantastic! the lady who checked us in was very helpful and friendly. only a short walk into the city centre.
Review 101:The staff is super friendly and very helpful, very good food at restaurant and the staff very prompt and we have a super view at Romerbrucke from the room.We hope we will come back soon.
Review 102:A good walk from the city center. Paying extra for river view we did not expect ending up in a room in the attic, not being able to see the river if not standing on toe. A bit stuffy rooms.
Review 103:Nice view over the river. Easy to park the car.
Review 104:Nothing.
Review 105:Very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast is GREAT with river view seating. Good parking across the street and great access to the bike path along the river. Would definitely stay here again.
Review 106:Nothing, Everything was great.
Review 107:The staff were really fantastic with our baby boy. The made us feel very welcome. They hotel restaurant was good food at reasonable price. Note : They stop serving a 9 O'clock (open until 10pm) and are closed on Sunday. Views are lovely from the terrace overlooking the river. Breakfast was good also a large range of things to choose from. We would go back.
Review 108:Be sure to ask how to operate the shutters. We had a room that had a bright light and traffic outside our window, so we had one sleepless night. After learning how to operate the shutters the next night, the room was much more comfortable. The walk to the Roman ruins and old town square goes by some seedier parts of town but does not take too long.
Review 109:The staff was friendly, and the rooms were clean and bathrooms updated. The restaurant had a nice setting above the Mosel River. Parking was convenient in a lot across the street.
Review 110:We wanted a hotel close to the centre with parking for the motorbike at a reasonable price. We certainly found it! Very friendly receptionist immediately opened the garage where we could store our motorbike overnight. The room was great and the location right neat to the Mosel was just what we wanted. About 15 minutes walk to the centre with a good choice of food and drink as well as some lovely buildings and Roman ruins to admire. The breakfast at the hotel was incredibly good value for 5 euros and you could eat whilst looking out at the barges on the river.
Review 111:The bar area could have been larger with more comfortable seating but otherwise the hotel was good.
Review 112:Very friendly lady on reception. Lovely balcony overlooking the Mosel on which we had breakfast.
Review 113:It was extremely hot during our visit. A fan in every room would have been a nice touch.
Review 114:The location was excellent for visiting Trier. The staff on Recption were very courteous and helpful. Breakfast choice was really good in the restaurant with view over the Moselle.
Review 115:A walk in shower would have been better than the shower in the deep bath tub. The TV was very small and had a poor reception.
Review 116:location was very good overloking Römerbrücke and Mosel. Our room was quite big and in very good condition. Breakfast was a very good value for Euro 5.-. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Bed was very comfortable.
Review 117:Immediate area a little bit run down
Review 118:location for walking into town and parking easily
Review 119:N/a
Review 120:Breakfast and location.
Review 121:The staff was very friendly, food was very good and the location was brilliant.
Review 122:actually nothing
Review 123:Nice location, cheap, clean, friendly staff, I will definitely go back again.
Review 124:Lovely comfortable room overlooking the Mosel.
Review 125:someone needed to be at the front desk during busy times
Review 126:The view of the river and bridge were spectacular. the room was spacious and comfortable.
Review 127:Easy walk to old city. River beautiful and peaceful. Staff friendly and helpful. Very good value.
Review 128:Dinner basic
Review 129:Great view over river plus upgrade with balcony.
Review 130:Distance from Trier Centre -10/15 minute walk.
Review 131:Comfortable hotel by the Moselle. Clean good sized room.Friendly staff. Good breakfast choice.
Review 132:What a great location.......right on the river and only about a 10 minute walk into town. Great breakfast.
Review 133:No coffee/tea facility in room
Review 134:Excellent breakfast in nice location Friendly and helpful staff Clean and comfortable
Review 135:The rooms feel a little bit dated.
Review 136:Proximity to main pedestrian area (quick walk across the bridge). Big room. Huge bathroom.
Review 137:The staff were very pleasant helpful and the cost of our stay was good value for money.
