Reviews for Plaza San Sebastián

Review 1:Location. Just across the cathedral Church. Walking distance to the Arco de los Gigantes and there are some restaurant around the hotel. Comfy bed. The staffs are very friendly, provided information on the good places to visit within walking distance from the hotel.

Review 2:Booked 3 rooms and requested for non-smoking rooms but 1 of the room was a smoking room. Appreciate more attention to details.

Review 3:Location; secured parking & friendly staff; dining room & computer/printer available for guests' usage.

Review 4:Location, situated in the middle of everything. Good value for money, receptionist was very freindly and gave me recommendations for what to see and where to eat.

Review 5:No breakfest in hotel, but around hotel is many restaurants.

Review 6:Very good location. In the center of old town. Privat parking available not so far from hotel for extra cost 7 euro. Very nice staff.

Review 7:Friendly and helpful staff, best location, spotlessly clean. Nothing but good things to say. Near to fab restaurants, can highly recommend Meson Juan Manuel and Meson Iberico de las Hazuelas, both for excellent tapas and meals.

Review 8:Nothing we did not like.

Review 9:The accommodation was in the town centre and was good value for money. Spacious and clean room with large bathroom. A small fridge was also provided. We paid extra for a secure undercover car space behind the hotel as we had hired a car for our trip. The reception staff spoke English and were very helpful.

Review 10:We were expecting that breakfast will be available in hotel (but was not - even on payment).

Review 11:Staff is excellent & very helpful. Has parking place nearby, which is a must in this location

Review 12:A little noisy at times but still a great hotel

Review 13:Although it is only a two star hotel the service is more like a four star – great helpful staff. My room was small but it had everything I needed including a small fridge and hair dryer. It was very clean and comfortable. There was a facility where you could make and eat your own food. A small court yard and a nice lounge. It was all very homely. The location is very central to the historic sites, restaurants and cafes. Overall it was great value for money.

Review 14:Nothing

Review 15:Friendly hotel, basic, very clean. Lovely stairwell to a landing and wide hallway upstairs....much nicer than walking down a long corridor to one's room. Beds were a tad hard but I came to expect this is Spain. Was given a wonderful map of Antequera which we used to explore. There is actually so much to see in Antequera and its environment that we wished we had planned to stay two nights. We were really only there to catch an early train to Barcelona. Recommendations for dinner were excellent.

Review 16:Only one plug socket available for our use in the room. No breakfast option (but there are places to get breakfast nearby).

Review 17:Helpful staff. Well-located on the edge of the old town in Antequera. Large bathroom. The air conditioning worked. Rather old-fashioned decor but in good condition. There is an adjoining restaurant and bar which we didn't use.

Review 18:Had a room at the front which could be noisy and not enough clothes hangers ,good job I brought my own, although there was a bar which did food adjacent to the hotel it would have been great if there were tea making facilities for when you first awoke

Review 19:Quirkiness of the hotel, easy to find, central to shops and bars good size room and bathroom on the whole good value for money,we would definitely go back

Review 20:The fridge had a bit of a funky smell

Review 21:The location was great and the reception were very helpful to tell up the best way to spend our one night including sites and restaurants in the area

Review 22:One of the rooms at the front was very noisy at night. Could really have done with some double glazing.

Review 23:Central location - staff very helpful. Room was clean and bed comfy. Parking was arranged for us but a bit tight - glad we had a v small hire car! The hotel is good value for money. Antequera is an interesting town without the huge flocks of tourists that flood it's better known neighbours. It is a good base for visiting the area around.

Review 24:Nada!

Review 25:This is a gem of a hotel. It is in a perfect location right in the heart of Antequera. The room and bathroom were excellent and the rate is quite incredible. Will always stay there in future!

Review 26:We stayed on a Friday, so people in cafe until late and traffic noise.

Review 27:Sab sebastian is well located and for an overnight stay was an excellent choice. It was clean and public parking is available.

Review 28:Needs a place to eat in the hotel. Looks like the had it at one time but not when we have stayed there.

Review 29:Great staff and location of the Hotel. Stayed at the hotel on more than on occasion.

Review 30:Nothing.

Review 31:The room was super clean. You had everthing you need in the bathroom. Staff was helpful and friendly. Location of the hotel right in the centre and opposite to the tourist information office. Very beautiful old city. The interior design and decor of the room and hotel is very beautiful. We required a quiet room and got one. So the noise from the main street didnt bother us.

Review 32:There was no view from our window - just a roof! The bells from the church were a bit annoying! Reception area a bit dreary1

Review 33:The location was great. The fountain in the centre of the Plaza and San Sebastian church just cross the road. Hotel right on the edge of the main street and very close to the historic site of the Alcazaba. Also close to restaurants. Jana at reception was very nice and helpful.

Review 34:Great, central location, right on the plaza. Staff were helpful, with good directions to parking, etc. (We opted for free public parking without any problems.) Room was spotless and cool, though a little small and dated. We loved it. :)

Review 35:Nothing

Review 36:Secure parking well worth 7 euros, location excellent, downstairs the bar was very good value. Opposite hotel are some steps that if you go to the top the views are outstanding. Would definitely return.

Review 37:Very clean throughout, helpful staff, good value for money. No charge for bringing the dog, and only 7 euros for secure parking nearby. Ideal for exploring the town.

Review 38:it was a bit of a tight squeeze in the bathroom between the sink and toilet lol... but for the price you can't grumble!!

Review 39:value for money. basic small rooms but clean and comfy. lovely shower and hot water! Air con. So central to town, shops, cafes etc... super friendly and helpful lady at reception communal areas basic kitchen and nice living room. Free wifi in lobby and living room.

Review 40:A great little hotel in the middle of the town overlooking the plaza. People were lovely and the hotel/cafe below was a great local place to get some breakfast - cheap and good. They even had a lift! I would definitely start there again.

Review 41:Perfect location in the centre and just ten minute walk to safe and secure parking. Value for money, comfort and facilities. I visit Antequera often and wouldalways stay here.

Review 42:Nice hotel, very good quality to price ratio, breakfast typical for Spain so somehow limited. Very nice and helpful staf, even with language barrier with 2 out of 3 of them all were extremly willing to communicate and help - and they always succeded.

Review 43:The location of the hotel, the cleanliness of our rooms, stairs and other communal areas, also the staff very helpful and friendly and did their very best to please.

Review 44:Right in the heart of Antequera with an easy walk to everything. Very nice boutique hotel, reasonable rate and close inexpensive parking. The staff was very accommodating.

Review 45:the room we originally had was overlooking the street/plaza. This was very noisy all night- traffic;refuse collection; street cleaning;people. The management moved us on the second night to a quieter room at our request. Very difficult to park anywhere near hotel. Lots of one-way streets in the town.

Review 46:the town is interesting and the hotel location convenient for restaurants etc

Review 47:Traffic noise from the street was constant all day and the windows were not double glazed. This did abate after 11 pm

Review 48:The hotel is right in the middle of the town and a short walk to all places of interest and shops. The hotel is well decorated, clean and the bed was comfortable.

Review 49:Front rooms overlooking the square can be noisy with passing traffic over the cobble stones through the day and night.

Review 50:Great location with a number of good restaurants near by.

Review 51:Staff were helpful. Although the hotel is not new or particularly fancy, I've never stayed anywhere cleaner and as well maintained. Could almost see my face in the floor tiles! :) It is also in a great central location for exploring Antequera.

Review 52:The room fronted the plaza which was very noisy and made sleep difficult. Request a room at the back.

Review 53:Everything was good in terms of services and cleanliness, and in-house facilities.

Review 54:The only minor thing was the parking was a short walk away, instead of right there. But I could park in front long enough to check in and drop my luggage. The parking facility is secure, so no worries about break-ins.

Review 55:It was great. The location right in the center, the staff were friendly and spoke good English, the room even had a mini-fridge.

Review 56:The place was freezing with no heating in the main body of the hotel .The heating in our room was virtually non existent.!!

Review 57:the location was excellent with good staff and the parking was good.the bar area was quite cosy and the nice place to have A DRINK OR A SNACK

Review 58:Not a thing. We loved this place and enjoyed our short stay in Antequerra.

Review 59:1) The most helpful staff I've come across anywhere! Excellent at giving directions too. 2) Lovely location in a beautiful little plaza a short stroll from the Alcazaba. 3) Very nice touches - a sweet courtyard and breakfast room where you can bring your breakfast to eat, sofas in the halls where you can read the newspaper (though you might as well do this outdoors). 4) Windows and shutters that do an excellent job of blocking out light and sound when needed. 5) Amazingly cheap. Basically, this was exactly what we wanted from a hotel - a comfortable, friendly, extremely cheap place in a lovely location. No fancy HDTVs or hundreds of channels to watch, which was fine with us.

Review 60:Our metal bed head rattled, it was wobbly and woke me up during the night.

Review 61:Being off season there was no breakfast but we were offered use of the dining room to make our own. Kettle and toaster provided for free and there was also a comfortable sitting room on the same floor. Excellent bedrooms for the price.

Review 62:Read reviews re the noise levels experienced by others and took no notice, as we expected to be out late trying a few Tinto's. Unfortunately on both nights of our stay there were gale force winds. No problem, except the wooden window shutters were broken and could not be closed. They clattered all night long and no sleep was possible. We left the hotel at 6am to get a bus to Malaga, to escape the noise.

Review 63:Staff very helpful in this ideally situated hotel.

Review 64:Rooms looks a little old. The window needs some repairs and renovation. Wifi connection in room on the second floor always disconnect and very slow.

Review 65:Great location. Room facing the square and the church. Very lovely view from room. Check in very fast and the front desk provides lots of information. Very close to everything. Beside is a small supermarket that opens till late to get some drinks or small snacks,

Review 66:The room was cold when I came and it took a day of heating to get a good temperature, so a bit uncomfortable.

Review 67:The price versus standard ratio is very good at this place. The room was large and clean, and quiet, but still very much in the center of town. Wifi worked well.

Review 68:Traps on the plumbing would have been nice. Bathroom did smell somewhat of sewer. I suspect the single rooms were originally larger and were reduced with subsequent modifications to the existing bathrooms (many years ago).

Review 69:For price point it delivered pretty much what I expected. It was acceptable.

Review 70:Noise from rooms next door (very poor isolation). You better be a good sleeper.

Review 71:Location, in the middle of the centre and close to the Alcabaza, which offers good oarking opportunities (100 m, up). Excellent wifi. Bar and resto next door. Friendly reception, in Spanish.

Review 72:Thin shutters with noisy road below so sleep a challenge even with ear plugs.

Review 73:Large bright clean bathroom, better than most 3 stars. Fridge in room. Communal terrace, dining area that made self catering possible especially as kettle, toaster & dishes provided.

Review 74:Too close to the main shopping street which proved to be a major draw for my female companion :(

Review 75:Superb location in the old town - ideal for visiting the Alcazaba (fortress) and other sights with a busy cafe on the ground floor and several good restaurants just three minutes walk away. Secure parking (though only four spaces) available a couple of minutes away for just a few euros a day. Also an ideal base if heading into Torcal Nature Reserve just a few miles to the south.

Review 76:The hotel was in a perfect position to be able to walk everywhere. Loads of restaurants and bars close by. Private, secure parking just up the road. The receptionist suggested a perfect room at the back of the hotel nice and quiet and it was.

Review 77:Parking is a bit of a pig but having stayed at the hotel before it's best to drop one's partner or friend outside the hotel with the bags and drive through the archway and up through the streets to the edge of the town to find a parking space five minutes walk away and then walk back down.

Review 78:Cheap and cheerful but it was fine, actually. Bang in the centre.

Review 79:For the value for money we found nothing wrong with this hotel

Review 80:It is a small central hotel that will most certainly have a captured clientele because of it's position but it has still focused on the important things. The 1st thing that welcomes you is a smiling friendly desk hostess who finds nothing is too much trouble. The room was small (could have had a bigger one for slightly more money) but suitable for us as it had all the requirements that you will find in a more expensive hotel. The nearby private car park was a real bonus as we had a car full of valuables. Will definitely recommend and return to this hotel.

Review 81:It was noisy, as our room was over the bar next to the Hotel. Also, when I made the change of hotel, I failed to notice it was room only, and the lack of a balcony we found difficult.

Review 82:The owners were polite and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable.

Review 83:Location for eating locally and visiting Antequera Blues Festival at top of hill, only ten minutes walk, perfecto! Scots family living locally in Estepa and first overnighter here. Good value for money, only 70 euros for two twin rooms. Noon departure so nice long lie.

Review 84:Noisy plumbing but no problem if good sleeper or wear earplugs, typical of such a central location.

Review 85:Really good value for money, they catered to our every need including providing us with a fridge. Staff, efficiency, wifi.

Review 86:Local parking was an extra 9 euros per night or 10 mins walk for free. Not a major hassle for me though, as you can park to load or unload right outside the door. My only complaint about the room itself would be that the shower head didn't actually stay put in the wall bracket. Shame as it's such an easy thing to get right.

Review 87:Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, good location.

Review 88:Windows not so sound proof. This wasn't a big deal however.

Review 89:Really liked the centre location. Room was clean and spacious. Staff v helpful. Breakfast facilitates were sufficient Hotel car parking nearby

Review 90:would have liked a comfy chair in bedroom,( larger bedside table.) but only miner details

Review 91:Central location, secure parking, everything close by, friendly staff. Fridge was very welcome. Been in higher rated hotel's not as good would give it 3 stars

Review 92:Good value.

Review 93:Excellent Information and advice from reception staff. Good parking.

Review 94:Noisy plaza: people and traffic on the streets.

Review 95:Great staff, hot shower, location perfect for exploring. Patio view was good too.

Review 96:Excellent value

Review 97:Rooms very small. Décor in rooms tired and dark.

Review 98:Location

Review 99:Location fantastic, and so clean! Will definitely come back again.

Review 100:location and cheap parking offered by hotel, nice staff

Review 101:Central position in middle of city, my request for a quiet room was taken into account and there was a safe parking for a small extra price.

Review 102:Great Location, spotless, great traditional hotel, fantastic value

Review 103:Hope bathtub in the room(^^;;

Review 104:Patio side room was not noisy, quiet!

Review 105:Clean hotel in a perfect location. Staff very helpful and nice. Great value.

Review 106:Noise from adjoining room and in the hall.

Review 107:Liked the fridge in the room and the shared dining room with microwave and coffee

Review 108:Location cleanliness staff

Review 109:Room small and a bit dark

Review 110:Clean and comfortable for budget hotel, great location. Parking available for extra charge

Review 111:Very hard to find, but worth it for the location.

Review 112:Single room rather cramped

Review 113:Very helpful staff

Review 114:Room at front can be a little bit noisy

Review 115:Great location and very friendly and helpful staff

Review 116:Good value

Review 117:no breakfast

Review 118:at a nice little square

Review 119:the room I was given felt like a tiny box. plus, it is beyond basic. needs a renewal

Review 120:location and staff

Review 121:Nothing to dislike

Review 122:Good central location at a reasonable price

Review 123:Thin walls between rooms.

Review 124:Nice old world hotel.

Review 125:Great location, everything just a walk away.
