Reviews for Palacio San Bartolomé

Review 1:Beautiful property with unique rooms. The Junior Suites were well appointed and comfortable. The staff was fantastic and breakfast was worth the small amount extra as well.

Review 2:Our only complaint has nothing to do with the hotel. We stayed around town the day of our departure to see the Castillo. It turns out that it is closed for Nov. and no one bothered to post a sign.

Review 3:Nice room, good location, good staff, good value and one of the best breakfasts we have had this trip.

Review 4:first night the high wind broke a door which crashed and banged all night. Everyone hardly slept, all complained and the door was put right the next day. We were offered free breakfast, but no reduction for our sleepless night. The hotel was unmanned from 10pm until the following morning, hence nothing could be done until the morning

Review 5:Liked the place, the location, Teresa the receptionist who was a great help, with excellent English too.

Review 6:The bedroom window was directly opposite a college classroom and was therefore quite noisy in the morning. No tea/coffee making facilities.

Review 7:The building and decor were fabulous. The central location was an easy stroll to all the bars and attractions. The linen etc was spotless.

Review 8:Nothing very sorry to leave.

Review 9:Staff very helpful and jolly! Location in town is excellent with easy walk to the Cathedral and ferry to Cadiz. More restaurants, cafes and small shops than you could possibly need. Market traders in the local market happy bunch selling predominantly fish and meat of amazing variety and freshness. Cathedral is a must visit as is Cadiz. We extended our stay but could have stayed longer. Try to organise a visit to Osborne bodega, we failed as left too late to book tour. Valet parking is a relief, car located nearby for easy access. If you are looking for a luxury hotel this is not for you. But simple, tasteful accommodation in a good location this is perfect.

Review 10:No bad experiences

Review 11:Very pleasant and helpful welcome - excellent room, surroundings and lovely breakfast, personally served. Parking requires only a short run to a family-run garage with pleasant people and reasonable rates.

Review 12:Very, very, very bad and unhelpful staff that makes fun of you when youask for anything (like some yoghurt or extra towels) and call the policeto tow your car away instead of asking you to move it (when they tellyou to park out front so they know it' s your car!) They want tomake quick money out of you and are not helpful. All the restaurantsthey recommended were not very nice and very pricey! Never again.... Donot go here!!!

Review 13:No onsite parking but there is a private garage closeby

Review 14:Building has been restored to a high standard whilst keeping old features Staff friendlyness Has everything you need and more

Review 15:Breakfast was lacking in choice. Couldn't use spa. Lighting in bathroom not easy in night Didn't like all the animals heads on walls horrible

Review 16:Interior design efficiency

Review 17:The noise coming from traffic outside all through the night an interior room might have been better. Also hot water took some time to arrive at 2nd floor.

Review 18:The quality and classifieds of the breakfast

Review 19:Difficult to find and the doors are locked at 10.00 pm so make sure you remember your key.

Review 20:Central location. Large, comfortable room with a very large, and very comfortable bed. Adequate breakfast. Very pleasant and attentive staff.

Review 21:Swimming pool was cold The room was clearly built around what used to be a spa , so it didn't exactly fit The jacuzzi was pretty unnecessary There were mosquitos in our room !

Review 22:Very small boutique style hotel. Staff were lovely Location was excellent Room was large, we stayed in the spa suite - so had a swimming pool and sauna in our room. The sauna was excellent

Review 23:No lounge or bar facilities

Review 24:Liked the location. Bed was comfortable and the room was lovely

Review 25:nil

Review 26:Very clean

Review 27:Nothing.

Review 28:Quite street, close to centre, bars and bodegas.

Review 29:Breakfeast should be included for the price.

Review 34:The room was excellent. Great location and staff very friendly. Parking use the valet service at 12euros

Review 35:Very comfortable; staff very friendly and helpful; right in the town centre; rooms small but very cosy; nice quiet hotel. Highly recommended

Review 36:Not being able just to buy a coffee if you were not having the full breakfast

Review 37:Beautiful building

Review 38:Close proximaty to bars and restuarants. Also to the ferry.

Review 39:Finding it!

Review 40:Amazing architecture and the decor in the rooms was brilliant. A veritable palace.

Review 41:no window to the outside

Review 42:The palacio, the service and the room

Review 43:Such a big surprise... well located, quite and familiar hotel. Old convent refurbished into a fantastic mini hotel.

Review 44:Not very easy to load on/off your luggage, when arriving by car

Review 45:Beautiful styled palacio each detail fits to the whole

Review 46:No spa or pool unless you book the room that has them in it! No real place to relax outside of your bedroom.

Review 47:Staff lovely and helpful, Rooms clean, and in good condition 3 minute walk from main tapas bar area

Review 48:Excellent hostel and location to enjoy El Puerto de Santa Maria during the Jerez MotoGP weekend. Secure parking for motorcycles and cars available in the same street 50m away. Highly recommend, the junior suite for romantic weekend with partner.

Review 49:Sadly twenty small tiles missing from the floor of the shower gave the appearance of lack of maintenance to an otherwise attractive bathroom facility.

Review 50:Lovely old property conveniently situated. Spacious room and bathroom. Cheery and helpful staff.

Review 51:The black-white tiles in the room's floor looks a bit old and dirty

Review 52:Design, welcoming and help of the receiption staff, assistance with info, maps, explnation and parking. The town itself is a great spot to explore Cadiz and all the historical/entertaiment facilities are within the walking distance from the hotel.

Review 53:Lack of 24 hour reception meant that we had to telephone someone elsewhere to tell us the entry code for the door after ringing the bell for 10 minutes. Having arrived later than we expected, we thought initially that we weren't going to be able to get into the hotel at all. Throughout our stay the hotel appeared deserted and we didn't find the Spa or pool until we were leaving, the door to this area was unlit and closed looking more like an empty room for functions? Lack of a guide in the room detailing the hotel facilities is unusual and this would have helped a lot. We didn't dislike the hotel (the name is actually Hostel) but it really felt more like renting a room than staying in a hotel. T

Review 54:Location and quiet

Review 55:Lack of Wi-Fi signal in my room Parking was a bit daunting.

Review 56:Staff Courtesy Cleanliness of facility Walking distance from all of Puerto de Santa Maria points of interests

Review 57:Strong odour of chlorine in the lobby ,more like somebody house then a hotel

Review 58:Rooms nice and spacious

Review 59:We stayed in a room overlooking the street which was a little noisy in the morning.

Review 60:Huge bed, great mini bar. Beautiful breakfast room.

Review 61:Fabulous location, wonderful restoration on the building and so convenient to town.

Review 62:room a bit dark

Review 63:location

Review 64:Wi-Fi was intermittent.

Review 65:Lovely staff. Very welcoming and helpful. Comfy bed!

Review 66:Osborne family suite with pool and spa was just great as a Christmaseve. Very good indeed. Friendly staff. Very reasonable price
