Review 1：Hotel and room feels a bit old. Located in a busy traffic corner. Windows must be closed but windows well insulated. Bad light in the room.

Review 10：I accidentally booked for the night before I arrived. Instead of charging me for the missed night, the clerk kindly just charge me for the night I actually stayed. Although I paid for a single-sized room, the clerk also gave a double-sized room. Breakfast OK. Hotel right across the street from the University. Hotel quiet. I would stay here again.

Review 17：It isn't possible to use the stairs and so sometimes the wait for the lift is a bit long to go down to the exit. But actually it has no bearing on the quality of this wonderful hotel..

Review 18：I have not one negative thing to say because the staff are incredibly friendly, helpful and informative. The breakfast table was always well stocked, fresh with ample coffee. Once again the staff were friendly and always gave a warm welcome. The room was quiet, warm and perfectly clean and fresh. I look forward to my next visit.

The rooms are large and always clean. The staff is always friendly and willing to help and to provide you with tips on what to see when you visit Essen. The hotel also has parking places free of charge. I can really recommend others to stay at this hotel!

Review 71：Location was my biggest problem, though arguably that was my own fault;I booked too late, and all the better hotels were fully booked orunreasonably expensive.I came to visit Spiel, and this hotel doesn't have a direct public transport connection to the Messe. I should have taken a hotel closer to the station or the Messe. Still, it wasn't an insurmountable problem; I still got everywhere I need to go on time. One other odd thing is that there's no stairs, so even though my room was on the first floor, I had to take the elevator every time. I'd prefer the stairs.

Review 72：There was nothing really wrong with this hotel, but also nothingthat's notably great.It was available at the date I need it, was affordable, had a bed and a shower, and the wifi worked perfectly. If I had to pick one thing that stood out, it'd be the wifi; it can be problematic at some hotels, but here it was perfect. Everything else was simply how it's supposed to be.

Review 95：Upon arrival the room had not been cleaned, however very soon aftermentioning it it was done but clearly in a rushed manner! No towels orshower gel, and the previous occupants empty beer glasses and bottlesleft outside all throughout my stay. That said, the staff wereapologetic and it was no big deal.
