Reviews for Hotel Constantin

Review 1:The bus system is confusing. This is partially due to the minimum information given by drivers and the train station staff! Beware...

Review 2:Great location and fine breakfast! Easy access to downtown and Roman ruins.

Review 3:location out of town not very good for people with walking difficulty , lift gets turned off at night .

Review 4:staff friendly very clean hotel food in restaurant good

Review 5:I don't care much about TV, but maybe any other languages would be ok for foreigner travellers.

Review 6:It was a tip to find that the bus stop to Luxembourg was across the road!

Review 7:The fact that there wasn't any facility in the rooms to make tea or coffee.

Review 8:Pleasant friendly staff, cleanliness and comfort. The provision of breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice to suit all tastes and good value for money.

Review 9:Very close to a busy crossroads.

Review 10:Very clean and comfortable, much better inside than the rather austere architecture would suggest. We had a good meal in the restaurant and an excellent breakfast. The secure underground parking was a real bonus for our Motorbikes

Review 11:Still could smell smoke in non-smoking room. Parking garage adjacent to the hotel was very small making getting in an out very difficult.

Review 12:The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Location was good for exploring Trier. Close to sites / downtown and right on the river.

Review 13:No smoking room but the small comes in from the patio (not accessible to guests), no appropriate curtains, bad pillow, worn out joints in floor bad room

Review 14:Reasonable price for the location and m2 of the room

Review 15:Unusual: reception is up some steps to the 1st floor

Review 16:Location; access road to the Hotel; parking; good size room; comfortable bed; useful bathroom; good choice of breakfast; staff were very helpful with info/map of Trier

Review 17:The manager of the bar/restaurant was abrupt, very unfriendly and unhelpful when we wanted a drink at 9.00pm.

Review 18:Convenient location. Secure covered parking.

Review 19:Lady who was in charge of bar and restaurant in the evenings was unhelpful and quite rude. She was closing the bar at 9pm and we could not get a drink and would not let us sit out on the sun terrace either.

Review 20:Breakfast was lovely and staff very friendly. Underground parking was great as we were all on motorcycles so it was nice and secure.

Review 21:WIFI was poor, but I think that will change by September 1 (when it will be available at the rooms).

Review 22:Location, terrace with view on Mosel River, old town is easy to be reached. Easy parking next to the hotel. Friendly staff.

Review 23:Arrived late and there was no porter to let us in. The parking barrier was broken and we were stuck for an hour inside the parking lot of the hotel before we could look for somewhere else with a 24 hour reception.

Review 24:WiFi reception in room was very poor. Sex shops in surrounding streets

Review 25:Very friendly and helpful staff in this hotel in what was a busy and noisy street

Review 26:As an Australian, I am not keen on 2 single mattresses pushed together to make a "double" bed. I also find European pillows not to my liking.

Review 27:Loved our large bedroom. It was very quiet and very comfortable, I got extra pillows on asking. We loved the nice friendly dining room staff, especially the mature Italian lady. Good parking and nice view of the river.

Review 28:staff was realy friendly we didnt knew if we would make it cause of some trouble with our car but the lady at the reception even offered to stay longer so we would still be albe to check in. The room was clean and quite big stayed in more expensive hotels with much smaller rooms

Review 29:- no fridge - no free WiFi - soap for showering was WAAAY too small - breakfast buffet had hardly any vegan friendly options (I ate fruits only)

Review 30:- relatively close to city center (10min walk) - cheap and clean - tv

Review 31:Access during the day was a little too open -- looks like a very safe neighbourhood, but would be better if all access was past reception.

Review 32:View of the river and bridge. Clean and nice service,

Review 33:Spacious, well maintained Roms. Very clean. Friendly staff. If you are looking for a affordable hotel not far from the center, book here. The hotel offers everything one needs.

Review 34:very much surprised about the paid internet in the room, there is free internet connection in the lobby only, don't even consider it as normal in the year 2015

Review 35:good location, clean, warm, comfortable, just in the old city centre, we liked it very much.

Review 36:Cigarette smoke odour permeated the lounge / reception area, and you had to wade through smoke to get to the dining area for breakfast (be aware that smoking is permitted also inside in most pubs now in Germany, so they have gone back as compared to the UK.

Review 37:Friendly staff Comfortable beds TV in room Good to reach the town location

Review 38:The area was kind of "dead", more suitable for customers travelling by car. Not my case, I was travelling by train, and it was quite far from the station. A nice 20 minute walk, if you are not carrying luggage. Wi-fi was only available paying, by telecom, which was for me, the main problem of the hotel.

Review 39:I liked the room itself, it was clean and more than enough comfortable. Also the staff was nice and the atmosphere was familiar and cozy.

Review 40:Not enough shampoo and shower gel, which were not renewed on one of the days. Two separate mattresses on the bed. Reception works until 10:00 pm which is not very convenient.

Review 41:Despite plenty of negative reviews from the Dutch regarding the temperature in the room, it can be easily regulated with a highly intuitive knob on the heater. Noise level from outside was acceptable as well. Hotel is easily accessible on foot from the old city center.

Review 42:Had wifi but had to sign in to internet with credit card.

Review 43:Location was very handy to old town. Brightly coloured room. Comfortable bed. Great shower

Review 44:Area of town was a bit run down. Exterior of hotel looked in need of a coat of paint. My heart sank when I arrived. But once inside, it was very good.

Review 45:Room and facilities were fine. Cleanliness very good. Staff helpful and friendly.

Review 46:Reception is on the first floor and wifi access is only in the reception area.

Review 47:The hotel was close to the town centre and had good views of the Mosel from the restaurant terrae.

Review 48:The hotel seemed to have a bar and a terrace but they were not open. The walk into the old city was through quite a seedy area.

Review 49:The location on the edge of the beautiful old city of Trier and right on the Mosel river was great. Underground parking for the motorcycles was an added bonus

Review 50:Decor is a little dated, very limited dinner menu

Review 51:Friendly staff, very convenient to Trier sights, very clean, great view of Moselle from the restaurant patio

Review 52:Perfect room, good size, like a minisuite. Even had a fridge with 2 x complimentary waters, nice. Good garage in next door basement, seemed like plenty of free spaces. Close to centre incl railway station.

Review 53:Room carpet...

Review 54:Most of it. Close to city centre (5min walk) and sight over river Mosel Friendy staff and good size family room. Only one night stay however...

Review 55:15 minutes walk to center city

Review 56:Friendly staff and good clean big room

Review 57:Within walking distance to city, Staff friendly and helpful, Breakfast very good and great value at €7

Review 58:WiFi could be better.

Review 60:Separate beds in a double room.

Review 61:Room was clean, big bathroom.

Review 62:the breakfast can be better

Review 63:the location is perfect, and it is very clean

Review 64:Nothing

Review 65:Views of the river. quiet and comfortable room

Review 66:Good location. Great breakfast and good value for money.

Review 67:Evening restaurant staff was very poor, unhelpful and aggressively uncooperative

Review 68:Reception staff and breakfast staff were friendly and helpful

Review 69:no wifi in room

Review 70:The hotel is modest but clean, quite well situated

Review 71:So much to see and do in the area . Full of history, architecture and lots of shops and cafés .

Review 72:Wifi worked only at the reception

Review 73:Room with lovely view over the river, easy parking, interesting historical city

Review 74:No free WiFi, no fridge, no breakfast

Review 75:Good size of room and bathroom. Location was OK, but a bit far away from the centre

Review 76:Distance from tourist attractions and rail station especially when you have a backpack

Review 77:Clean safe

Review 78:No minibar, no wifi in the rooms

Review 79:Very gfood location, nice view from the window, almost free(2eur) parking

Review 80:poor breakfast

Review 81:the place of it near the river

Review 82:no Wifi in room, no minibar

Review 83:good location, nice view, good breakfast, cheap parking

Review 84:No free Wi Fi in room.

Review 85:Walkable from everything and only 2 euros to park.

Review 86:Nothing to tell.

Review 87:Everything fine. New TV set.

Review 88:No Internet access in room. Busy street. tacky neighborhood

Review 89:nothing

Review 90:good location, short walk into town. Immaculately clean. helpful reception. adjacent parking. good breakfast. thank you.

Review 91:Uncomfortable beds No airco Far from the centre of town Too close to red loight district

Review 92:Price Service was good Good brekfast

Review 93:Clean easy walk into a nice town

Review 94:Needs new color and furniture Red-district-like neighbourhood

Review 95:Private parking Close to city-center Cheap and good breakfast Great terras

Review 96:The wi fi in the room is SUPER EXPENSIVE: 5euros per 2hours. In the reception where it should be for free IT DOES NOT WORK. I was happy to stay just 1 night!

Review 97:The room is big. It is located 15min walk from the main attractions.

Review 98:Nothing really.

Review 99:Good informative staff, nice clean big room, do not be put off by the outside apperance of this hotel. Parking on site was good, easy access. You can walk to the centre of Trier. Nice breakfast.

Review 100:I have no complaints

Review 101:Beautiful location overlooking the old Roman bridge over the Moselle and a short walk (10-15 min) into the center of town. The restaurant terrace is the perfect place to drink a beer and take in the late afternoon sun. The rooms are large, modern, and clean.

Review 102:The room smelled horrible when we checked in. The breakfast was overpriced for what was provided. Had to sit in the lobby for the free wi-fi and still needed to get a daily login and password.

Review 103:A 10-minute walk to the town square, shops, and Porta Nigra. There is a launderette 5 min away.

Review 104:The hotel overlooks the roman bridge across the Mosel and is only about 10 minutes walk from the main tourist attractions. The carpark was very convenient and the room was comfortable and clean. The orice was very reasonable.

Review 105:Internet only in the reception and it doesnt work. We were there in march and it was cold, but heating system was not switched on. We were not told that beakfast is included. We only asked if we had breakfast, and at the reception a manager responded 'yes', during the check out it resulted that we had to pay extra for the breakfast (7euros).

Review 106:Good location,

Review 107:The entire building smells like cigarette smoke. This includes our room and linens. Our VAT form was not accepted by the desk clerk when we were checking out. Apparently, we are the first Americans to ever present one to her in her 3 yrs working there. The elevator was out of order our last night there. I guess things happen. Nothing against ladybugs but...we had quite a few of them in the bathroom and throughout the room. I'm just glad they weren't spiders or bedbugs. Although we had a great view of the river, we also had a front row seat to all the traffic. It seems like we heard an ambulance going by every half hour.

Review 108:We had a nice view of the river and the Romerbrucke. The hotel is about 10-15 mins walking from the city center. Parking was very cheap but not secure or guarded/gated. Breakfast was fairly priced but limited variety. Common for a small hotel. The night desk clerk was very nice and helpful and gave us a map of the city and a quick orientation of the place.

Review 109:The hotel was right on the edge of the town center just a short walk from the historic landmarks and nightlife and on a main road too so very easy to find and park on arrival. The staff were friendly and spoke English perfectly well enough for us.Our room had a beautiful view out across the river.

Review 110:The staff at reception was always very nice and helpful when it came to directions. It was very clean hotel. We were on a interrail around Europe this was with out a doubt the best hotel we staid at. Very good value for money. I would go there again :)

Review 111:Wi-Fi only available in the reception area

Review 112:The hotel is only a 10 minute walk from the town centre. Parking alongside the hotel was only 2 euros for the night (with token from the hotel).

Review 113:The staff did not know about buses into the city centre. We had to walk a lot about the neighbourhood to find which bus to take. The staff we asked did not know of a good GERMAN restaurant, even though we were in GERMANY! There was a famous and excellent German restaurant in the neighbourhood, but we had to ask people on the street for that advice! The room was too hot and stuffy, even when the heaters were turned off!

Review 114:The staff were friendly and could speak more than one language (we speak Afrikaans, Dutch, English, German and French). The room was well sealed from the heavy traffic noise outside.

Review 115:The reception closes too early. One cannot always choose the time of arrival when travelling from abroad.

Review 116:The hotel was very clean, the staff-friendly, located at a walking distance from the main sights.

Review 117:The room had neither a conditioner nor a minibar with cold drinks which is a must in the July heat we experienced. A file with leaflets and some info about the hotel's facilities will certainly help. Generally, the hotel is quite clean but in our room the sink was clogged and remained so though I asked a receptionist to fix it.

Review 118:The best thing about this hotel is its center-wise location and the Mosel river closeness. Another good thing was a parking house which was pleasantly cheap.(One has to pay 2 euros only upon departure or any time you are going to drive out.) We also enjoyed quite a spacious room.

Review 119:There was no air condition and mini bar in the room which I stayed.

Review 120:The staff is very friendly. The location of the hotel is near Mosel and near the city centre.

Review 121:Good position for starting cycle trip down Mosel. Quite close to centre (15mins walk) Breakfast was OK with nice seating area. Parking available when we left our car for 4 days (5 euro a day) Directly facing the river so nice location though some might not like the walk into town through "adult only type" area

Review 122:The room was clean and truly a non-smoking room. Plenty of room, freewi-fi available. Dinning room was lovely...good food. Took note us as afamily and "repeated" our table for our next meal to meet ourneeds...kinder stool, small utensils etc. European breakfast buffet wastasty! Staff was friendly and spoke English very well and was forgivingof my less than fabulous attempt at German! Would recommend and willbook again for our returns to Trier.

Review 123:It was quite noisy - thin walls perhaps. We were below the kitchen andwere woken up each morning at 0600 from the noise above. It the eveningyou can hear the cook pounding the wiener schnitzel to death! Theylacked staff in the restaurant in the evening. Only 1 person to waitressand cook. We were asked not to sit outside as she couldn't cope withall the people in the restaurant, the terrace and having to cook aswell. Apparently it was because the waitress was sick that evening, butit was the same the next night as well...

Review 124:Hotel was generally clean and modern. Nice terrace overlooking the riverthough a touch noisy from the traffic.

Review 125:Hotel room was a little noisy due to it's location, however we onlystayed for an overnight stop, so this was not a problem for us.The pillow was flat and very uncomfortable.

Review 126:The hotel was in a good location to visit the shopping areas and alltourist attractions of Trier, about a ten minute walk to thepedestrianised shopping area. The staff were very friendly and helpful, gave us a larger room because we had a large dog. (however this did cost 5 euros per night for the dog). The room was very clean and tidy. Breakfast was plentiful and very good value for the money.

Review 127:Really clean and nice hotel, in the summer the situation is marvellousbeside the Mosel. Breakfast was worth its price. The staff was veryfriendly and helpful.

Review 128:No internet in the room and the internet in reception snow. They offereda free drink to dinner and when you go there they presents arbetslösaconfitions so it is not free, only a false trick to get you into therestaurant.

Review 129:the noise coming from radio loudspeakers in ceiling of restaurant, starting at 6 in morning and disturbing rest in our rooms 41 and 46, being above the restaurant

Review 130:view on roman bridge. interest in well being of my sick wife

Review 131:Breakfast could have been better. It should be served until 9 but it was cleared when I came 15 minutes before even that they know I was having breakfast

Review 132:Fantastic reception very nice. Very good hotel for very good money. Clean and nice.
