Reviews for Villa Altstadtperle Erfurt

Review 1:Lack of provided breakfast

Review 2:Excellent location to the market of Erfurt and the Christmas market(which was incredible!). The rooms are large, beds fairly comfortable. Breakfast is not included (is quite pricey at €9.50/pp). The staff is nice. On-site parking for a fee. Would stay here again.

Review 3:Sort of in culture shock as far as costs of everything in this town. We hadn't been paying as much in previous places. Nothing personal against the hotel. Would have been great to be able to heat water in the room.

Review 4:Location was great, car park was wonderful, seemed spacious to me. Basic rooms, nicely decorated and very clean. Comfortable bed and pillows. All was great.

Review 5:The hotel charged us in error for parking. We did not have a car. As they are unable to issue a refund on our credit card, and a deposit to our bank account would eat the refund in conversion charges, I asked for them to simply send cash. So far they have refused to do so.

Review 6:This is a lovely small hotel in a very convenient part of town; a five minute walk from the center that makes it more quiet.

Review 7:Fantastic location on the edge of the old town with ground floor units and on site, secure parking. Good breakfast. If I wanted anything more it would be thicker curtains to block out morning light and dim the noise of early departures. Otherwise really good.

Review 8:Parking and breakfast was not included but was extra. Also, the room had a built -in kitchen with a coffee pot , but there was no complimentary coffee provided.

Review 9:It was in a convenient location. We were able to park our car and go on foot everywhere.

Review 10:Wifi did not work properly. It was very intermittent. We could get on for maybe 10 minutes or so then we would lose connection.

Review 11:Very clean and comfortable. Location was excellent. Staff was very friendly.

Review 12:Lovely spacious room with sofa and dining table Beautiful riverside garden perfect for a glass of wine Quiet location a few minutes walk from the old town

Review 13:We were just a block from the main historic area that we wanted to see. The room was clean and spacious for the four of us, the bathroom was spotless and modern. Very comfortable, and I'd love to stay there again! Also, parking was excellent having a designated spot for our room.

Review 14:Thus hotel is in a great location handy to the town centre. Good parking if travelling with a car. Very quiet. The hotel gardens are quite amazing. The only improvement would be to have some coffee making facilities in the room

Review 15:The apartment was very cosy and light. We also had a big terrace for afternoon cup of coffee.Slightly later check in was not a problem and they also accommodated my additional request.

Review 16:The connection for WiFi was poor, and when connected, it was very slow.

Review 17:This is a very comfortable pension in a great location for visiting the old town section of Erfurt. It's an easy walk. The staff was friendly and helpful; the breakfast was varied and good. The scrambled eggs were not runny as they so often are in a heating tray on a buffet.

Review 18:Little privacy in the room--the room we got was on the ground floor and faced a courtyard and the entryway to the hotel so we always had to keep the curtain closed when we were in the room; the bed was too soft.

Review 19:Great location; modern and very clean room; maid service; low-cost parking; great room price; accommodating and friendly staff

Review 20:No wifi connection in the room. The town of Erfurt was a disappointment! We went in December so that we could go to the Christmas market there. It was like a carnival and I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to see it!

Review 21:The room was well presented. Clean, spacious. The breakfast had nice options.

Review 22:We don't have anything negative to say.

Review 23:We had a large room (room 6) for German standards. It would make for a nice stay with 2 children. The room holds 2 adult beds, a small sofa that pulls out to make a foam mattress on the floor and a table to fit four comfortably plus room to move around without stepping into each other’s way. The bathroom is modern with a good shower (no leaks or splashing to the floor!). Room is ground floor with 3 steps in the front and overlooks a courtyard with a fountain. The walk is easy and within 5 minutes of the Dom Platz/market. We would stay at Villa Altstadtperle again. They offered breakfast for 9.50 euro /person but we decided to visit a local bakery instead. Car parking is on site and without cost. It is easy to maneuver.

Review 24:This clean hotel is at one end of Michaelisstrasse - which is full of restaurants and bars of many types, a short walk to the Dom, and which ends up at the Krämerbrücke.

Review 25:Wifi is very bad If arrive in the evening, arrange for key in advance by calling. Reception is closed quite early in the afternoon, especially on weekends.

Review 26:Close to center Spacious and accurate rooms Good value for money

Review 27:Parking at rear of property had very tight spaces. Going from room to breakfast required walking outside, although in dry weather this was not an issue.

Review 28:Friendly staff, comfortable room and bathroom with walk-shower, good selection at continental breakfast. Central location with restaurants nearby.

Review 29:Bed linen was very uncomfortable. The doona cover and pillow cases were made of scratchy polyester type fabric and made for a restless night. The pillows were feather type and flat. TV wasn't tuned. Apartment was on the street and was a little noisy so I suggest to ask for one at the back.

Review 30:Spacious apartment with free, but limited parking. Central location in the old town, backing onto canal. Easy walking to all restaurants and attractions. Try Deniz pizza joint on the corner. Delicious and good value.

Review 31:Management was unavailable and indifferent to our arrival. Room was hot and only one window opened fully. Fans were unavailable. Could not decipher password for wi-fi. Miserable experience. Would not recommend under current management.

Review 32:The room was clean and attractively appointed.

Review 33:Location Parking Friendliness

Review 34:There was nothing we did not like.

Review 35:Very functional hotel, right at the old centre of the town. Very quiet.

Review 36:It was very close to everything, we were able to walk all over the downtown & breakfast was also good! :D

Review 37:Once located, we would have liked to stay longer than the one night we stayed. In the centre of the aldstadt of this small interesting old town.

Review 38:Lack of elevator

Review 39:extra fee for a car park

Review 40:Everything, highly recommended, rooms are good size and furnish well, breakfast outstanding.

Review 41:Very quaint. Loved the room and gardens. Was on a back street on Erfurt which was very cool.

Review 42:I have just one verry little remark - the additional bads where creaking a bit.

Review 43:Ideal location, friendly and helpful staff, beautiful room and peaceful tables to sit at by the river.

Review 44:Very nice host couple. Very service minded.

Review 45:This is a very charming pension with a great location and wonderful staff.

Review 46:No Staff after 18:00 o´clock.

Review 47:Soap in the bathroom.

Review 48:Closed door at 19.30h 12 degrees when entering the room and no heating!

Review 49:Breakfast

Review 50:Nothing

Review 51:Location

Review 52:This is an outstanding place with very helpful staff, delicious breakfast. Very nice and quiet place, perfect for rest.

Review 53:bad WI-FI

Review 54:Huge space in the room and the kitchen with all that you need!

Review 55:There wasn't a dishcloth or tea towel for washing up

Review 56:Decor and comfort

Review 57:Really liked it here. Great little room.

Review 58:The apartment was very clean and had a well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed sitting in the garden right next to the river.

Review 59:There are some things under the bed which (I supposed) left from previous guests. But except this issue the cleanliness is very good.

Review 60:We called to the hotel we would arrive after 18 p.m. and they stayed at the hotel to accept us. The location and staff were perfect. The room was spacious.

Review 61:Nothing negative to say.

Review 62:The hotel is excelent. The rooms are nice and comfortable, has a nice garden, staff is very friendly and professional, there is a free parking place at the courtyard. Hotel is situated in the city center, so the main sights are on the walking distance. ATTENTION: On Saturday and Sunday the receptions closes down at 15.00, but it is easy to arrange the key (you have to phone the reception and inform them about your late arrival).

Review 63:Location a few doors away from a bar -- many loud people on the street under our windows until 2:00 in the morning -- shouting, talking, singing very loudly! Cars and motorbikes and trucks very loud late at night and early in the morning. The windows should be sound-proofed! The hot water heater was broken in the bathroom -- the maid said that they have had many other people complain about it. You have 5 minutes of hot water, then only cold for 30 minutes, then 1 minute of hot, then cold...... When I complained, they said they could not fix it. They also did NOT make an adjustment on the price of the room because of no hot water and not being able to sleep because of the noise.

Review 64:Attractive decor and equipped kitchen. However, the electric kettle did not work. The church bells ringing in the morning and the church spire and city view from our window were pretty.

Review 65:Like the majority of the city, the staff spoke only a little English, but were friendly. The breakfast was an extra 9 Euros, so kinda pricey, and we had to pay in cash for our room, because at the time their credit card machine was down.

Review 66:Great location in the middle of old town. It was easy to find, quiet, had free parking and extremely clean and spacious rooms.

Review 67:Wifi password written in the hotel booklet is wrong, there is no one at the reception, though you can call a mobile number. A bit overkill for just the wifi password.

Review 68:super location. Quiet. Excellent room with large and top class bed. Easy parking. Large pretty fore-court. Breakfast excellent. Friendly helpfull staff.

Review 69:Breakfast was a little expensive...!

Review 70:Everything was excellent: the room was absolutely beautiful, clean and fully accessorized. The bed was very comfortable. Very good location: right in the old city center (altstadt).

Review 71:For a foreign and solo traveller, it is important to have English language Entertainment TV stations. Like all the other hotels in Germany, here too, there are only German language TV channels. The acrylic or goose feather pillows and bedcovers may be efficient but they are really not comfortable.

Review 72:This is a very beautifully decorated hotel, Good taste and detailed decoration with an excellent (and different than all the others) breakfast buffet. Very centrally located in Erfurt, convenient for visiting the old town as tourists in couples or family. I'd recommend it to everyone.

Review 73:Parking was very easy and secure compared to several hotels of this type on this trip. The staff was the most helpful and friendly of all the hotels we stayed at this trip. Location was perfect . Shopping , sights and restaurants were virtually " next door ".

Review 74:Driving in Erfurt is a bit of a challenge but once at the hotel you can walk everywhere in the old city. Free parking, internet access was nice. We had a large double room and it was a a nice size, clean and quite. Had breakfast one day, good but it was an extra charge. Apartment is also very close to a large number of good places to eat.

Review 75:Hotel near City center with own carpark-facilities ( no fee ). Different rooms, from small to extensive. Quiet surrounding. In backgarden sitting along the river. Friendly staff.

Review 76:Nothing negative to say! Perfect!

Review 77:One of the finest hotels we've ever stayed at. The old town location is perfect, a short walk to all the sites. Free on-site parking. Immaculate room, everything was brand new and clean. The grounds are beautifully done, with a fountain in the courtyard and access to the river with a bench where you can sit and relax. We were glad that we opted for breakfast for 9.50 EUR per person. A nice buffet selection with eggs, bacon, bread, cheese, sweet breads, etc. The staff were welcoming and professional. I would especially recommend this hotel for those who like small, quiet, unique and intimate hotels/guest houses. We happened to be there during Germany's biggest heat wave of the century. There is no air-conditioning, so it was hot! But it's not that easy to find hotels with air-conditioning in Germany, and so it was not enough to make us regret our stay. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Review 78:we loved everything!

Review 79:The room was spacious; the staff, welcoming and friendly; the location, perfect; the breakfast, couldn't have been a better start to a great day in the historic city of Erfurt.

Review 80:Despite the renovations, the plumbing in my room was still the ancient kind - strange hot and cold shower. The breakfast that is offered is quite expensive and you have to get there early to get the full benefit.

Review 81:Friendly staff, free parking in the centre of town, beautifully decorated and comfortable apartments, great location.

Review 82:Everything was great! Villa Altstadtperle is situated in a lovely housein the Altstadt, about 3 min. Walk to Krämerbrücke, 15-20 min. To theMain Railway station and bus station. There are many restaurants andcafes near the Apartments. Michaelisstraße is a nice small quiet streetwith the old buildings and churches. There was no noise in Apartments atall, we supposed that there was none but us in Villa Altstadtperle =)Design of our apartment is really amazing. Hostess Frau Ahrens iswelcoming and nice woman. We checked-in at 7.30 P.M., and she waswaiting for us... With her daughter, because Frau Ahrens don't speakenglish =) But it was no problem: when we needed anything, Frau Ahrenscalled her daughter and she translated our words. We will certainlyrecommend it to our friends!
