Reviews for Hotel Rocamar
Review 1:For us the breakfast didnt have enough fresh things so we decided to make our own
Review 2:The rooms were cleaned every day and there was a big fridge in the room The owner is incredible friendly and will happily answer every question
Review 3:No complaints at all but a car is essential if you want to visit the best beaches.
Review 4:Excellent hotel bedroom with amazing views. The owners went out of their way to be helpful and were always very pleasent
Review 5:The wireless connection didn't work at all in our bedroom. One hears every noise from the other rooms.
Review 6:Very friendly owner. Relaxing and calm atmosphere. Nice view with a good drink from the bar at the terrace. Good location if you've got a car (necessary to reach the beaches!). Easy and free parking. Nice little town with good restaurants and a beautiful view. Clean bedrooms, nice balcony, beds have been made every day. The fridge in the room was very useful. The pool was very nice. We were very happy and had a nice week in Cala Figuera at Marga's place. Thank you
Review 7:The lady who owns the hotel, who unfortunately is there all day long, is so rude that we had the impression she was making fun of us. She forced us to go and find some cash to pay the night before because she claimed that on the subsequent mornig she d been so busy that she would not have even 3 minutes to take our payment. She made us pay for the safe even though it was clear from the booking that it was included in the room. When we came back to spend some time in the pool she yelled at us saying "and you two?!?! still here?!!?!". The bathroom was dirty and desperately needs some limescale remover.
Review 8:The person who takes care of the hotel over the night is great!! The most nice and fun person of the island!!
Review 9:Location in Cala Figuera, good swimming pool, and the friendly and very helpful owner, we asked for a couple of specific things before we arrived and these were duly provided.
Review 10:Cala Figuera is just not our kind of place. It´s very abandoned, windy at times and a bit spooky. We prefer a more lively place like ala d´or with more restaurant, little shops and people. Also, I think the breakfast price (12 euros) is too high, which made it un-appealing for us to choose for that option. Instead we had breakfast on our balcony with view over the sea, which was great as well!
Review 11:The owner is very nice, helpful and funny! She takes a bit getting used to, but once you know here she is great. Also the view over the sea is great and the place definetly has character!
Review 12:It was a nice place to stay, with an easy walk into the little town area and a good location when hiring a car to see surrounding area. We'd happily stay there again. Thanks Marga.
Review 13:The breakfast was expensive, so we didn't eat here (so unsure of how good it was!), otherwise no other problems at all.
Review 14:The staff here don't speak English and although my Spanish is not very good, they always made an effort to talk to us and ask how our day was etc. The hotel is basic but had everything we needed, including a balcony overlooking the sea. There is a fridge available to store food/water in which was helpful.
Review 15:Nothing really.
Review 16:The staff was friendly and very helpful. The location was like a bit of heaven after spending a night in Cala d'Or. Beautifulview of the water. Close to cafes. Free parking. Quaint, quiet and relaxing.
Review 17:Nothing.
Review 18:Great location, clean and very friendly hotel. Excellent breakfast but the jewel in the crown is Marga who, in spite of her limited English, couldn't do enough for us. She was so keen to help, was always available, and really contributed to a superb holiday.
Review 19:Everything was great
Review 20:-The view from the balcony -This hotel is just want I need when I go on holidays, a clean safe and no thrills comfortable place to rest when I'm not on the beach
Review 21:Only German and Spanish, safe key paid 2€ per day, no beach available on foots - it od course not hotels fault ;)
Review 22:Great stuff, lots of useful things in the room, nice places, many materials about region available, common fridge for floor, good wifi for free, quite nice pool, great see view.
Review 23:Nothing
Review 24:Large room with large bath. Seaview with terrasse is amazing, althought during night with open window it gets a bit windy. A big fridge is available per floor to store food/drinks. Parking spaces are available without charge in front/ around hotel. Pool is perfect to end a day at the beach. All in All perfect stay.
Review 25:No kettle or fridge in the room
Review 26:The location was gorgeous with the hotel situated on a cliff overlooking the sea. Marga the owner was lovely and friendly and we had a very relaxing holiday
Review 27:The owner of the hotel and the whole family are so lovely. They went out of their ways to make our stay as perfect as possible and were just generally nice people to talk to. The hotel and rooms were clean, balcony overlooking the ocean was great, great swimming pool and the location scenic. Would highly recommend. 10 out of 10 and then some.
Review 28:Main foreign language at hotel is german, even though our (perhaps poor) attempts of spanish.
Review 29:Spacious room, very friendly personell, and the pool is a welcome extra with a nice view. Short distance to the port with various restaurants. Also just around the corner restaurant La Lavina, for a more basic (and cheaper) but very well prepared meal.
Review 30:the staff was the main great aspect. always had a word of sympathy, welcome, hasta luego... tips for places to visit, recommendations, everything with a simplicity of a smile and a well being that makes you feel at home! location for me was great - you can go for a swim and the sea 2' walk, the pool is just fine, lovely sea view, quiet... and the best beaches are so so neraby :)
Review 31:Breakfast is pricey and the restaurants around the hotel were the same. Food wasn't that great either.
Review 32:We loved our view and Rocanar. We would stay there again.
Review 33:The tap water is salty so you need bottled water to brush your teeth. The hotel has a great potential, it's a pity it's not renovated. There is no AC but that was not a problem even in July.
Review 34:The view from our room was great. They have a swimming pool, free parking just in front, beach umbrellas can be borrowed at the reception. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It's a remote location so there are not many things around but it's perfect for relaxation, you only hear the sea at night.
Review 35:Hit my feet on the steel reinforcements of the balcony fence multiple times.
Review 36:Cozy, family-run hotel, very friendly personnel. Free WiFi worked great (one access point per floor, good bandwidth). Good, deep pool. Great location by the sea. Common living room and bar room with lots of stuff but we did not use these facilities.
Review 37:It's an old building but for the price we where not expectinganything luxurious.
Review 38:Is located in a quite little town. In cala figueras there is not muchhappening however your next to the most stunning beaches you will eversee. Renting a car is a must cause is an hour away from the airport andmost of the places to visit are not walking distance. Close by you havebeach Calo des Moro, Es Pontas (rock formation) , Cala Santanyí (greatfor snorkeling) and Cala Mondragó. The owner Marga is very helpful andshe can show you on a map all this places. You can also drive to Calad'Or town which have one beach next to the other and they are allbreathtaking, I recommend Cala Esperanza but their many more.About HOTEL we did not do breakfast cause we found the price high, there are convenient stores close by and there was a fridge in our floor (1). No air conditioning in the room and is no problem at all, we stayed on the hottest season and still fresh, there was a fan in the room but we did not used it. There is parking available on the street and is easy to find a spot. Nice pool, better during day time cause it gets windy and the building shadows the area.
Review 39:The views were lovely from the balcony. Very friendly staff and welcoming, great location
Review 40:The location : very beautiful village!!
Review 41:tiny old bathroom.
Review 42:terrible smell in the room which was coming from the toilet
Review 43:Great location. Small basic hotel from the 60's. Private atmosphere. Clean.
Review 44:The hotel has very nice sea view. The personal is very kind. We had a great vacation.
Review 45:Hum... nothing.
Review 46:The Staff. Super Ready to help and full of good advices. Cleanliness of the room. Location and super view on the Sea
Review 47:Friendliness, quietness, pool is great
Review 48:We were the only people staying there for one night, so lack of atmosphere
Review 49:Family run hotel, owners very friendly and attentive Excellent breakfasts with lots of mallorquian cheeses to taste
Review 50:Almost a little bit too quiet - no real nightlife at all in the resort, and hotel closed up by midnight. Not great transport links to the beach.
Review 51:Lovely staff, very friendly. Great pool and amazing views from the balcony. Good value. Easy to book transfers to/from airport through hotel.
Review 52:There is no AC so it gets hot at night
Review 53:Cala Figuera is a small village with beautiful views and not as many tourists as everywhere else in Majorca. There are few restaurants with nice, home-cooked food. Rocamar is a small family run hotel. The owner keeps saying she doesnt speak english but she actually does and is very helpful to recommend best beaches restaurants etc. Room with seaview is a must! Its simply amazing.
Review 54:Perhaps time for a fan upgrade - ours sounded like a jet engine.
Review 55:Beautiful location overlooking the sea and a surprisingly large pool for this price bracket - excellent. Our triple room was simple but spacious and had three proper beds, no sofabed or campbed which was great. Nice touches like a shared fridge in the hall.
Review 56:Exellent location for people looking for a quiet stay. Balconies directly facing seaside, you do not hear anything except for the seaguls. Very clean pool, free billard, table tennis, free umbrellas to take to the beach, very friendly staff and clean. Fridge available for all guests and free WI-FI.
Review 57:The very warm welcome. Kind, helpful and knowledgeable Owner, there every day. Very close to fabulous Cala Santanyi beach. Great to walk to Cala Figuera Restaurants in the evenings.
Review 58:Although the lady at the reception can not speak English, she is quite nice and patient, checking google translation and writing on the paper to facilitate the communication. The hotel provide comfortable and clean accommodation which is absolutely worth of money. Strong recommended, especially for solo tourist!
Review 59:Not a flaw of the hotel but: Be aware that the village has no beach, butonly a swimming entry via a ledder. Ut a couple of amazing beaches inthe area (car needed). The hotel also has a nice pool. Be aware thatthere is no aircon, but a large and efficient fan to shove in air fromthe outside. Was fine for us.
Review 60:Very relax, quite and friendly atmosphere. Sleep with open balconydoor and window to the sounds of waves against the cliffs just oposit!Take a look at google maps and streetview for an impression of theamazing location. Rooms are relatively basic but not bad and goodvalue for money.
Review 61:Breakfast was 12 Euros per person. Too expensive in our taste but itseemed as it was the general price in Cala Figuera.
Review 62:The hotel had a very good location. It was to close walk to therestaurants. The village was very pittoresque. We had a room with astunning sea view. No aircondition in the room but it was quiet outsideso you could leave the balcony door open.
Review 63:Plastic sheets on bed. Very hot rooms, with weak fans, TV pointless- 2 fuzzy Spainish channels, dark bathroom with shower that flooded bathroom everyday.German biased-so signs and information mostly in German
Review 64:Family of owners, very nice. And friendly people, lovely location, amazing sea views, very quiet, relaxed vibe
Review 65:Nothing. As long as you go in the knowledge its a 2-3 star hotelstandard, you won't be disappointed.
Review 66:Our stay at Rocamar was excellent value for money. This is a hotel forpeople looking for a clean, quiet, friendly budget hotel in a quietfishing village away from the crowds.Key points were: - Easy drive with the hire car from the airport (45 minutes) and available free parking on the street outside. Easy access to many local beaches - but you do need a hire car to stay here realistically. - Amazing view from our balcony (tip - book a room with a sea view) - Fridge on each floor of the hotel, and 2 small supermarkets nearby to buy and store cold food (probably a better option than buying their breakfast) - 4-5 good restaurants within a 5 minute walk from the hotel - No beach, but a swimming zone straight off the rocks in front of the hotel - Very clean quiet hotel, with friendly staff in reception area 24 hrs. - Showers in the pool area which we used on check-out day. - A useful deposit area where previous guests have left beach gear (parasols etc) which current guests can use for free for the duration of their stay.
Review 67:There is no beach in the village, there is only a small rocky part where local people come and where you can take the bath. On the other hands, there is a plenty of calas and beaches on the nerby cost which can be reached in 10-15 min driving. There is no AC, but with a ventilator it is ok even in August.
Review 68:Nice accommodation in a small pictoresque village, with perfect views, far away from all those turistic centres and complexs. Really nice and warm staff, taking care of their guests in every ocasion, making their stay at the hotel very comfortable. Rich breakfast where both continental and local cuisine is served. Big and clean rooms with a small balcony/terrace, with magnific seaviews (it is really worth to book a room with seaviews)
Review 69:We absolutely loved the location; just hundred meters down from thecliff could we take our morning swim, by jumping in into refreshingMediterranean waves and enjoy the sea from our balcony. Being in thehotel was as visiting a Spanish family - secure, warm and helpful. As weenjoyed sleeping long, we did not order breakfast. Therefore we boughtlocal food from a store basically over the corner and enjoy it in hotellobby with the view to the sea.
Review 70:While the breakfast at 12 euros was expensive it was the same in thecafes in town. There was plenty to eat but no fresh fruit at all. Lotsof cheese! Ham, tomatoes and tinned fruit.Filling but doubtful if healthy.
Review 71:The lady running the hotel with her husband were so welcoming andprovided good advice re walking around the area. Although there was nota working bar you only had to ask for whatever you wanted and it was puton your bill. The owners were interested and made you feel really wanted.
Review 72:Great Location. Availability of fridge in the corridor to cool food/drinks. Availability of parasols to take to the beach.
Review 73:Fantastic location. Great breakfast
Review 74:The hotel must be renewed even if it's 2 star only. It's like going back to the 80's.
Review 75:Liked the staff and the location.
Review 76:very friendly staff very nice location. I enjoyed the stay very much.
Review 77:Nothing!
Review 78:Wonderful location with a fantastic owner. Heaven on earth!
Review 79:Warm welcome, views, breakfasts .
Review 80:Hosts didn't speak English so made communicating a little difficult
Review 81:Great view and nice quiet location.
Review 82:The rooms were a bit hot
Review 83:Everything!
Review 84:hotel is tired, could be beautiful given the location with money spent on it!
Review 85:Lovely friendly staff, clean hotel
Review 86:whole town is full of germans
Review 87:nearby beach calo des moro is worth visiting
Review 88:Quiet sorroundings, fantastic view, good price and nice staff
Review 89:All good for the money
Review 90:Friendly staff, good value and location with sea view
