Reviews for Huerto del Cura
Review 1:Central heating radiator controls in both the bathroom and sleeping area did not work and were locked in the on position all night. Reception staff did the best they could but could only offer a change of room, which close to midnight was not possible. Had to sleep with window open.
Review 2:Excellent restaurant.
Review 3:the room is showing its age. radiator in room hasn't thermostat controls, eith on (and hot) or off (and cold).
Review 4:the hotel setting and gardens. the poolside bar
Review 5:the lack of outdoor furniture by the room. You are not allowed to bring your own food and drink to the sitting areas. The pool was too cold.
Review 6:The garden and the room.
Review 7:We had a good stay all round and the hotel is extremely good value for money. A slight downside was the room which, although comfortable and clean, was basic.
Review 8:The location was excellent for our visit to the palm gardens. The hotel setting was very pretty. The reception staff were friendly and extremely helpful.
Review 9:There was nothing at this hotel to dislike
Review 10:Location was great hotel was stunning the grounds were fantastic, the buffet breakfast was lovely too, a great choice of food.if we were to go back to elche we would always stay here.
Review 11:whoever designed the bathrooms does not have much sense. There was only a short protective wall, so that it was very hard to shower without soaking the bathroom floor. Moreover, there is nothing to hold on to when showering or exiting the bath.
Review 12:The location within the palm groves of Elche was very pleasing The restaurant of the hotel has a superb chef who produces gourmet dishes at very reasonable prices. The staff were very friendly and helpful
Review 13:we would have liked to be able to have made a hot drink in our room at any time we wanted to .
Review 14:, cleanliness the pool and outside location gardens bar staff
Review 15:The room and the bedding felt quite damp. It is obviously a problem as the room contained a large glass bowl of dehumidifying crystals.
Review 16:The location and the setting of the rooms within a tropical garden. The evening meal in the restaurant was top class.
Review 17:Went with 4 groups of couples/friends 3 of the rooms were very stylish but 1 wasnt which i felt was dissapointing although it wasnt a big issue
Review 18:Perfect postion beautiful pool & surrounding areas friendly helpful staff
Review 19:Parking 13 Euros Per Night. No Full Length Mirrors in Rooms.
Review 20:Lovely bungalow, good facilities, great chill out area, fantastic location, tasty food. Overall a really nice stay.
Review 21:The bed mattress was obviously old and overused, much too soft and indented.
Review 22:Loved the air of peace and tranquility created by the gardens and the silence.
Review 23:Nothing we didn't like. To improve some small things, the hotel could offer a fridge (there was a minibar), fill up the minibar when cleaning the room, ventilation in the bathroom (it got very hot and steamy when showering) and a small carpet by the door, to dry dirty and wet feet.
Review 24:Fantastic, tropical garden! Wonderful pool and poolarea. Easy access to the sea by bus (10 minutes walking to bus station), quiet, rustic and relaxing hotel.
Review 25:We thought the car parking was a bit expensive.
Review 26:What an entrance - calm, relaxing, peaceful and the stresses of life melting away. Professional, English speaking receptionist who quickly booked us in and directed us to our room amongst the palms. Nice tropical walk to our room past a beautiful swimming pool and bar area. A variety of flora and fauna surrounding us, peace and tranquility everywhere in this oasis. 5 minute walk to the town center and all the noise. Very nice to return to the haven of the palms. Breakfast was ....wow!!! Self service around the pool, breakfast was extensive and very tasty. Lunch was not required. Car parking was secure in the hotel grounds.
Review 27:Room was very smoky, bad shower construction (floods all the bathroom)
Review 28:Beautiful landscaping, nice pool area, diverse breakfast, in front of Huerto del Cura park, 2 min to the oldtown
Review 29:The shower broke down partway through my shower, so had to have a bath to rinse soap off.
Review 30:The setting amongst palm trees, the lovely big swimming pool, the friendly and helpful staff, the comfortable cabins, just about everything really.
Review 31:This hotel is very peaceful but does seem to hold functions (weddings, birthday celebrations, etc) at the weekends. While it didn't bother us because we didn't find it particularly noisy (and we even watched a couple getting married from our bedroom window) it may affect some people's enjoyment in which case I would suggest a midweek stay when the place seems to revert to hotel guests only.
Review 32:Pretty chalet type accommodation set in fabulous gardens. My partner has lived in the tropics most of his life and said it was just like being back there. Breakfast was fantastic: varied and plentiful. Staff are helpful and friendly. We will definitely return.
Review 33:The unusual bedroom location ,being bungalow style within the beautiful gardens . The tranquility despite being within a short walk to the main city. Every member of staff we encountered were excellent .
Review 34:Superior room very basically furnished, nothing superior about it, totally overpriced for what it was. Definitely not 4* accommodation.
Review 35:Restaurant food at dinner was good and served poolside which was a lovely setting on a warm evening.
Review 36:Location excellent. Staff outstanding and friendly. Parking convenient. Rooms spacious and well fitted if a little Gothic in decor. Breakfast very good with plenty of choice. Pool and public areas well maintained and shaded by the abundance of palms. Although very close to city centre the site was quiet and like an oasis of calm yet very convenient. Would stay there again.
Review 37:Everything about this place is amazing. Great location, high quality food and very comfortable and nice decorated bungalows. I would recommend this hotel to romantic couples or to people that are looking for relaxation in the middle of nature, but also in the middle of the city. The gardens are breathtaking and makes you think about an exotic island, but this hotel is very close to the city center. So...perfect place, perfect surroundings, perfect services. Everything was perfect for us.
Review 38:WiFi was weak and non existent at times. The bathroom of the bungalow was a little dated.
Review 39:Setting, swimming pool, friendly staff, great breakfast. Spacious clean bungalow, comfy bed, decent mattress in baby's cot. Great massage. Good restaurant.
Review 40:Staying in a bungalow as opposed to a hotel room. The tranquility and beauty of the grounds. Lovely swimming pool. Attentiveness of staff. Wakening to the sound of bird song.
Review 41:Poor service in restaurant. Meal was cold & had to be returned for reheating. Maitre D not really interested, possibly because we are English ? Front desk adjusted our bill accordingly & very apologetic
Review 42:Quiet and tranquil location Very comfortable beds
Review 43:The junior suites aren't really suites at all, just larger bedrooms away from the main area and don't have wifi reception. The room also smelt of smoke, despite us asking for non-smoking room.
Review 44:Location
Review 45:parking cost and price of breakfast
Review 46:very good layout of outside accomodation with the bungalws, grounds kept well with all the shrubs and trees and palms
Review 47:Problem checking in when I was told I could not have the rooms which were confirmed on the Internet The shower was not powerful enough
Review 48:The bed was very comfortable The restaurant was very good The gardens were very nice
Review 49:Front desk staff was a little cold.
Review 50:Rooms are really spacious & clean. Lounge and restaurant area are great. Outdoor space is amazing. Lounge staff was great.
Review 51:Nothing not to like
Review 52:The bungalows set in the grounds of the gardens with amazing Meditteraneo plants. Relaxing Zen garden. Cleanliness of rooms & every aspect of the hotel & gardens. Friendliness of staff, will go the extra mile to ensure customer is satisfied. Excellent location
Review 53:The wifi signal in the room was very weak and the extractor fan in the bathroom didn't really do anything. The coffee machine in the breakfast room is very slow and you could do with another one when it is busy.
Review 54:We liked the bed and pillows and that we could smoke in our room if we wanted to. The cleaners were very good and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a very comfortable stay.
Review 55:Easy enough to find from the airport with Sat Nav. Would have been difficult otherwise.
Review 56:Groups of bungerlows set in a pleasant garden. Comfortable bed. Good strong WiFi. Helpful staff.
Review 57:The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The setting was stunning with the bungalows amongst the trees. Our room was very spacious with heating (Feb) and comfy beds. An excellent location to explore the city on foot. I will definitely stay there again.
Review 58:just one coment we stayed at the hotel in january and found the restaurant a bit cold late in to the nite.
Review 59:what a place , just about every thing , to start with the junior suit and what a fantastic four poster bed, the wonderfull gardens and pool area . and to top every thing off we had a lovely meal in the restaurant
Review 60:Setting is perfect and the small bungalows are well equipped and the rooms are large. It is in the centre of town which meant we could walk everywhere. The pool looked amazing but it was January and too cold to swim as it was unseated. The food in the restaurant was excellent. Very fine dining.
Review 61:No bulb in one of the lights. shower water didn't clear. Son's room had no WiFi. But all were fixed when we raised them with reception.
Review 62:The surroundings. Close to points of interest . it had parking.(paid)
Review 63:We asked for a wakeup call but this didn't happen. The evening meal was restricted to 2 set menus which were long and expensive. Not suitable for a light meal. Also not available before 8.30 p.m. The internal phone network did not work.
Review 64:Close to the town centre. The grounds were beautiful and the rooms seemed to blend into the environment. Very comfortable beds. Lovely pool though it was too chilly to venture in for a swim.
Review 65:The shower had a bad smell. Wifi didn't work in my room.
Review 66:The efficient & friendly staff and the fantastic pool area. The hotel is within walking distance to the lovely town centre and is close to Alicante airport. The room was basic but very comfortable. The bathroom looked recently updated and was modern. The design of the hotel is lovely and the rooms are private. Free WiFi around the pool area.
Review 67:Due to the time of year we traveled the outside bar was not always manned, and staff had to run in/out to the main bar to serve us, take payment etc.Dining room menu could do with some simpler options for food-not everyone wants a three course meal.
Review 68:Loved the setting, the individual chalets were immaculate and very comfortable. The gardens are breathtakingly beautiful, you would never think you were in the middle of a large city. Also loved the pool and made good use of it.
Review 69:Reception staff tapped pen impatiently while I put passports away. We were the only guests at the time.
Review 70:Great location among the palms close to centre. Comfortable room.
Review 71:Room was in in need of refurbishment. No full length dressing mirror in room ,fan in bathroom not working and make up mirror was broken.(this was replaced)
Review 72:The grounds and staff
Review 73:Sadly I thought the rooms were extremely tired and in need of updating. Bungalows set out within the palm gardens giving a tropical. But the entrances to each room are drab and look dirty. The rooms a very basic although the beds are comfortable. They just look a bit run down, such a shame as everything is lovely. Only other problem was that at 5pm our room wasn't ready and a new receptionist was terribly slow. I would also suggest some more information on the local sights,,opening times, map etc. there was nothing in the room and they had to search the reception area for what we wanted
Review 74:We had an amazing meal at the restaurant...not cheap though. Lovely garden area and pool. Great location to visit central Elche and the various gardens with safe underground parking.
Review 75:The dust on the hanging metal pieces in the reception. The mosquitoes near the bar area, too many too comfortably sit outside. Some repellant is needed. Both my husband and I got bitten quite badly. These are only small criticisms though.
Review 76:Thre greenery, the colour scheme and design everywhere in the hotel. We were very I impressed with the hotel, staff and pretty mu he everything. Excellent value for money. The food on Sunday evening was wonderful, the 35euro tasting menu.
Review 77:the staff seemed a little disorganised and were unaware of work schedules in the hotel complex, we did a lot of walking about before being finally allocated a suitable room.
Review 78:the lovely quiet location, the superb restaurant, the easy access to the town and its museums and squares, the staff were helpful and smiley
Review 79:No kettle or tea tray in room. (take your own)
Review 80:Quiet in the middle of town. No traffic noise. Absolutely beautiful setting. Plenty of parking, free. Golf buggy for luggage and transport you to bungalow immediately on booking in with English speaking reception. Large room with huge bathroom and toiletries. We went on a "noddy" train around town 2e for pensioners, absolutely brilliant.
Review 81:The staff did have limited English but tried really hard to help us out. With a combination of them trying hard to understand and us trying hard with our Spanish we always got what we needed. Tha village/town had some excellent resturants . It was lively but quiet. The hotel hosted two weddings on the same evening with over 200 guest. It was great fun and the staff made sure there was absolutely no impact on our stay. A great little gem of a hotel.
Review 82:Breakfast priced at 13€ too expensive
Review 83:Green after harsh dry surrounds low level bungalows little concrete to be seen quiet large clean pool good wifi
Review 84:We were given room 123 for te first night which didn't have air conditioning working and it was smelling of drainage, bad smell of wee from the toilets. Because we were in a rush to get ready for the wedding didn't have time to complain about it but just after midnight to inform them about the aircon. Next day they moved us to room 121, with view to the pool and a bit better smell in the room. I think there is a problem withte smell of drains in most bungalows as othe rod our friend attending the wedding also told us that about their rooms. It is shame that the park and the pool are great but the rooms need upgrading, the tiles in the bathroom are broken on the walls (2rooms seen) and the rooms are pretty basic for a 4star hotel. The tv is small and the aircon is very noisy during the sleep we had to put it on and off all night to be ble to cope with the heat but also be able to sleep without noise. The aircon is set above the door/over the wardrobe and not in the main part of the room, so it is not efficient. Shame the acomoddation is not as up to the 4* but more like for 2*. Again we had to give 10euros guarantee for a pool towel which was not convenient, instead of the hotel providing a card to collect towels as for standard 4* hotels... It was inconvenient for me to walk back to the room with the toddler to try to find the money to pick up a pool towel and in fact I didn't have my money cash as all were with my partner which was out to ear in town!!! We had to stay by the pool without towel but just try to dry standing!!! Very bad service in this regard.
Review 85:Pool was great.
Review 86:Wifi didn´t work 100%.
Review 87:Nice bungalows. Great pool area. The surroundings are amazing with the palm trees. Having a drink at sunset by the pool is a must - very priceworthy.
Review 88:Staff was friendly, but restaurant crew seemed understaffed (waiting time) Breakfast could be better, in terms of choice, quality and presentation. Breakfast no value for money.
Review 89:Wonderful setting of swimmingpool, lounge area, restaurant and bedrooms amidst palmtrees and green tropical plants. Main buiding has been tastefully decorated. Love the lounge area. Bedrooms are simple but clean. No luxury, but not needed
Review 90:I would absolutely not recommend the hairdressing service : the price Iwas given by phone for a upsweep, after 3 calls to have the information, after all didn't included the hairstyle, arguing it's a separateservice. I didn't realize it because the hairdresser didn't saidthe hairstyle was an extra when I asked her to confirm the amount givenby phone, arguing it the hotel who could tell; the price doesn'tappear neither on the note you have to sign in order to charge the room.So I had to ask at the reception the intern sheet afterwards with thelist of all the services and prices, but they didn't accepted anyreclamation has it was already done. So I paid 60 euros for a 20 minhairdressing style.
Review 91:This hotel is fantastic, very relaxing, perfect in summer cause thelittle houses are surrounded by lots trees. The swimming pool is lovely.
Review 92:Only down part one of the ramps was quite steep - ok for my husband as I could push the manual wheelchair but if you were managing a manual on your own or had a small power chair the ramp to the outside breakfast terrace could be a bit too steep.
Review 93:We had been long awaiting our stay here and were not disappointed. The rooms were clean, comfortable and relatively spacious and as they are all set into small groups of bungalows in the grounds it felt quite private and tranquil. Very good fine dining, expensive by Spanish standards but affordable and definitely cheaper than an equivalent meal back in the UK. Well presented and interesting menu. My husband has recently become wheelchair bound and we have struggled in other hotels with the disabled facilities offered. This hotel tops the bill so far by a long way! Wheelchair access to all areas, good disabled toilet facilities and a proper wheel in wet room with plenty of turning access etc. Only down part one of the ramps was quite steep - ok for him as I could push the manual wheelchair but if you were managing a manual on your own or had a small power chair the ramp to the outside breakfast terrace could be a bit too steep. (In fact the whole of Elche works well for wheelchair users - flat well paved with plenty of ramps at curb edges etc). All the hotel staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. The Hotel is situated directly opposite the Palmeral Gardens - well worth a visit! Close to town centre. I don't usually go back to locations as there is too much world out there, but could make an exception for this hotel and Elche - very pleasant stay.
Review 94:bad room : it is not a triple room but just a double room with an extra bed the room is too old fashion and very small for three people the air conditioning is too old and noisy the breakfast is not at the level of a four star the staff is quite absent
Review 95:good location beautiful swimming pool and environment good restaurant
Review 96:The ambiance of the outside breakfast area was spoilt by unlaid tables and lack of attention when clearing and laying up (we had a dirty tablecloth)
Review 97:Beautiful setting, excellent position with regards access to the old town, lovely pool .Well kept gardens
Review 98:the AC worked not properly, we did barely sleep! Reception proposed us to switch rooms, but that one smelled of cigarettes...
Review 99:we loved the (deep) pool, nice surroundings, location in the city and the decor of the room and reception areas
Review 100:Given the excellent facilities for disabled visitors to both the city Elche and the Hotel it would be good if this extended to the access too and from the swimming pool. Some shallow steps would make a big difference.
Review 101:Location, seclusion and excellent food.
Review 102:Bungalows are fine but need a slight update
Review 103:Garden, facilities, good restaurant
Review 104:The location near to the town centre the peace and quiet
Review 105:Very special area, big rooms, lovely garden / pool, wide breakfast buffet
Review 106:Nothing really we just thought that the room was a bit dark and needed more natural light.
Review 107:Nice location, nice room, nice breakfast
Review 108:A little over priced
Review 109:Rooms due for upgrade
Review 110:Central location Friendly and helpful staff Spacious rooms Parking Setting
Review 111:Great location. Very relaxing amongst the palm trees. We only stayed one night and so didn't use all the facilities.
Review 112:The low rise bungalows set amidst the palms
Review 113:Perfect location, a garden setting but only minutes on foot to the centre.
Review 114:Poor quality of breakfast Slow service at pool terrace
Review 115:Great gardens Amazing rooms (suites)
Review 116:Nothing
Review 117:Comfortable and clean , it's wonderful for honeymoon
Review 118:Oasis in the centre of town, calm and beautiful.
Review 119:Everything!
Review 120:Staff excellent & grounds like a garden
Review 121:Poor service in bar and restaurant
Review 122:Great place to stay
Review 123:No air conditioning in bedrooms
Review 124:Location and ambience
Review 125:Nothing. Just be aware that parking is 13 euros a night.
Review 126:An amazingly unique experience with first class service. Every aspect was well run.
Review 127:nothing
Review 128:The hotel garden, the pool, the location, the food, the service
Review 129:The rooms are a little tired
Review 130:Beautiful surrounding in a stunning location
Review 131:Location and faciltiies in the centre of the town
