Reviews for Los Jandalos Santa María

Review 1:Wish they could have more hours on the pool.

Review 2:Great hotel, only wish I had more time to spend at the hotel as I was running all over the city for the Monkey Week Festival.

Review 3:The only niggle we found was that my partner found the bed far too firm for her liking.

Review 4:It's a great location. Underground parking is a huge advantage. The staff are very helpful and the hotel itself is very nice. Especially the courtyard.

Review 5:Clean, nice and conveniently located next to ferry terminal hotel. Beds are indeed a bit harder than usual, but very comfortable. Breakfast is nice (can't say the same about dinner though). Very helpful staff, excellent cleaning service. We got a room with the view over inner patio and it was quiet and nice. If you're interested in delicious food, check out restaurant El Arriate across the road - a bit on expensive side, but well worth it!

Review 6:A bit of paint left and right could be a good idea. Internet is a pieceof ........ expecially in the rooms (we stayed at room 136). Last yearwe had the same problem. Why???

Review 7:Second time we stayed there. Good hotel, great location, nice pool.

Review 8:There is a lovely bar but it was seldom open - although there was a vending manchine. This is a shame as there's a lovely courtyard where we have sat with a jusg of sangria on a previous visit.

Review 9:Excellent location. Very short walk to ferry to Cadiz as well as good restaurants, bars etc. Restaurant El Ariate is just across the road and is excellent. The roof top pool is an oasis and was not crowded during our stay in June 2015. Our room had a superb balcony with a view over the river. Easy and free parking just outside the hotel was a bonus

Review 10:Pool was on the roof. But given the location in town a pool anywhere was a plus.

Review 11:Location next to catamaran to Cadiz. Near to everything in town. Beside a number of bodegas. Very good value bar La Dorada for food and drink around the corner we had room overlooking the courtyard so no road noise

Review 12:The facilities in this hotel are extremely poor just trying to get a coffee in the afternoon is almost impossible. The reception staff are rude and very unhelpful and the staff in the restaurant not much better. Or I would urge anybody thinking about staying here to rethink. They even try to charge you for things you never have or ask for.

Review 13:Leaving on the last day,

Review 14:We had nine rooms booked in the hotel but after six months the hotel realised there was a large Harley Davidson rally being held local so they tried we had nine rooms booked in the hotel but after six months the hotel realised there was a large Harley Davidson rally being held local so they tried to cancel all rooms in order to get a higher price from someone else once booking.com stepped in they eventually agrhonouredeed honoured the booking. But once we checked out they tried to charge us all sorts of different prices for things we never had this hotel is only interested in your mo but once we checked out they tried to charge us all sorts of different prices for things we never had this Hotel is only interested in your money and not service. The breakfast is not worth 1 euro. I would not send my worst enemy here.

Review 15:Nothing to talk about.

Review 16:We booked our rooms in the hotel many months in advance due to the fact there was a large Harley Davidson Rally on that weekend after about six months the hotel decided that they would not honour our booking this is because they felt they could get more money for the rooms by being greedy but once booking.com were involved they re-instated the booking. When we checked out they tried to change the fees already agreed . The reception staff were very rude and unhelpful . The facilities in the hotel were very poor and the breakfast extremely bad I would not recommend this hotel to anybody.

Review 17:The only thing good about this hotel was the location.

Review 18:Room seemed a bit small, tilting window and no balcony made it feel penned in. Told after payment there was no aircon working in the Hotel, was given a fan but ended up getting bitten. Buffet breakfast was disappointing. Curled up ham, rubbery hard boiled eggs. Fruit salad with not much fruit. Not much fresh anything. Wifi non existent. Hotel itself has potential. Shame.

Review 19:Good location, close to ferry and shops. Clean rooms, nice beds friendly staff. Nice rooftop pool. Managed to park on street. La Dorada really good fish restaurant a short walk away, not expensive either. Bar Curve for S.M. on draught and good fast food. ( they were open on Monday, as a lot of other places were closed)

Review 20:Older building could use some upgrades. The air conditioning system was not working, so they put a fan in our room.

Review 21:Convenience, rooftop swimming pool, attentive hard-working staff.

Review 22:The old part of the hotel is really outdated: Aircon not working Bed horrible Noisy room We knew we wouldn't get the best room, but the info on Booking was not entirely accurate and price/quality not in balance. Not worth the money for us.

Review 23:Staff was friendly and gave us a better room after the first one we got did not meet our expectations.

Review 24:Reception didn't tell us air con was not working before checking into our room.Seemed to be an imposition for staff to serve you at the bar. The price for the same drink went up 25 cents after 2 hours.

Review 25:The car park was very roomy compared to others we have encountered in Spain

Review 26:The air con in the rooms didnt work beacuase the hotel hadn't set it to cold even though it was 30 degrees during the day. When we tried to contact reception no one would answer the phone. Eberything else was ok. Nothing special.

Review 27:The fact that there are too many Dutch and German retired (and complaining) people in this hotel these days. 22 years ago we were one of the first non-Spanish tourist/business travelers

Review 28:The swimming pool on top of the building, and the room with balcony overlooking the river Guadalete

Review 29:The staff were so helpful, letting us into our room early in the morning, no problems, and lovely at breakfast. The hotel delivered what it claimed at great value. A note in the room said to ask for anything we needed.

Review 30:In need of improvements, I don't know what had been split on chair legs but it was horrible. Rooftop was closed at night so the benefit of it was lost on us, close the pool but leave the common area open. Staff were rude on departure and very slow at other times. Very noisy. Tip, ask for wifi code on arrival or risk waiting for it later. There are many better hotels in psm so unless you get a great deal choose somewhere else.

Review 31:Price, location, car park and bed

Review 32:Wifi was a bit iffy: not fast at times.

Review 33:El Puerto de Santa María is a lovely town, particularly the old city centre which is very close to this hotel: going out for a meal is real easy.

Review 34:The rooms had been revamped since our last visit, much improvement. Our room number 130 had a small balcony overlooking the river and road, but no noise due to double glazed windows.

Review 35:no one manning the bar so would have to wait for someone from the restaurant to come. 10 minutes one time. Would expect better with a central hotel like this.

Review 36:location and having pool was a bonus.

Review 37:Didn't sleep well due to street noise

Review 38:Spacious and comfortable rooms. Ideal location for foot passenger ferry to Cadiz. Free parking on street. Comfortable beds with crisp bed linen.

Review 39:Nothing really except would like cushions on the sun beds by the pool.

Review 40:The location is excellent and we feel that especially through booking.com the hotel offers real value for money. Will be returning yet again. The pool is a real bonus after a day sight seeing.

Review 41:The mattresses were at bit firm which may not be comfortable for everyone.

Review 42:Typical Spanish traditional hotel in an excellent location. Close to the centre of town and within easy reach of the surrounding area.

Review 43:Having to check out early for a flight and thereby missing breakfast, staff arranged for me to pick up a packed lunch/ bag meal as I checked out. Other places I have stayed at have basically said "Tough" in that situation even when I have paid for a B&B rate. I am unlikley to return to that area for business in future but if I do, I know where I will be staying.

Review 44:Beds were hard, the view was unspectacular

Review 45:The room was adequate in size; the patio looking out over the river made the room quite spacious. The pool and roof terrace was good value

Review 46:Very bad wifi connection, staff not very friendly, poor quality beds.

Review 47:Nice location near to the center. Nice swimming/sunbathing area on the rooftop. Excellent for a 1/2 night stop when you're on the road (close to Cadiz). Wouldn't stay here for a week.

Review 48:quality of WiFi

Review 49:location is perfect, staff very friendly, hotel is beautifull, rooms are big and beds are very comfortable., pool is very nice, always free parking close to the hotel (we were there the last week of Aug). to make a long story short: Perfect value for Money. No doubt: we definately will come back

Review 50:Wifi is very weak, the Loby looks very nice, but the room is too old and smells . The hotel is not located in Cadiz , if you are planing to travel to Cadiz , don't book this hotel, the price of 75 euro without breakfast is not value for money. Be careful of your booking as this hotel is over 30 miles drive away from Cadiz town. And no free parking . I would not suggest this hotel to travel.

Review 51:just quiet town

Review 52:Room was a little small. Bed was overly firm. Room (room 301) was beside the 'Office' so there was a lot of corridoor noise in the morning which woke us up.

Review 53:Rooftoop Pool! Clean Room! Free WiFi! Airconditioning! Fridge (with freezer) to keep drinks and ice in! Value for Money!

Review 54:Was upgraded, free of charge, to a room with a nice view of the river

Review 55:Beds, rooms in general

Review 56:Pool, location

Review 57:Noise - in corridors, from adjoining rooms. Could do with a bit of a makeover - looks a little shabby

Review 58:Good location. Secure parking

Review 59:The rooms are incredible small

Review 60:The location

Review 61:Difficulty connecting phone and couldn't connect tablet??

Review 62:Location very good but further than 800M from beach

Review 63:I didnt eat there or have time to use the full facilities.

Review 64:The gentleman behind reception spoke good english.

Review 65:Nothing

Review 66:Room, pool, location good

Review 67:Nothing really

Review 68:Everything we expected

Review 69:45 minutes walk to Puerto Sherry and beach

Review 70:Good location for facilities in Puerto Santa Maria Very close to Ferry terminal for Cadiz

Review 71:Comfort& pool.

Review 72:Good location, close to Osborne, down by the river, easy walk into centre of town.

Review 73:The area were we stayer. Eveything was on walking distance.

Review 74:Good location

Review 75:Good food in the restaurant. Close to the catamarán for Cadiz. Friendly atmosphere.

Review 76:poor choice for cooked breakfast, most staff were curt but noticeably more helpful to Spanish guests

Review 77:Clean but dated

Review 78:location was central, safe parking 10 metres from hotel was 2euros per day, room comfortable and reasonable size, shower excellent.

Review 79:Medium breakfast Staff friendliness Poor wifi

Review 80:Location and the pool

Review 81:The pool opened and closed too early. The internet connection did not work.

Review 82:The staff, the patio and the rooms were nice.

Review 83:Unreliable WIFI

Review 84:Being in the town near the river. Lovely view from the roof

Review 85:Bed I little too firm for my liking

Review 86:Excellent facilities

Review 87:Their swimming pool did not live up to our expectations; needs immediate renovation.

Review 88:Location, helpfulness, price for value.

Review 89:Location, good price , close to lots of nice restaurants & bars . 50 metres from ferry to Cadiz town . Great rooftop pool . Good buffet breakfast .

Review 90:Sometimes the reception staff seemed a little preoccupied and could have been a but friendlier. The far often seemed closed and even ringing the bell did not always work.,

Review 91:We liked the location near the centre and the clean, light and attractive public spaces. Our room overlooked the patio and was quiet most if the time. Just a couple of noisy guests one night!

Review 92:A bit tired in places and if your watching your calories, breakfast is limited to white bread and sweet bakery options or cheese and cured meats.

Review 93:Beautiful setting and communal area. Breakfast could do with a bit more fresh fruit and or vegies. The pool area could do with a spruce up but we were there early in the season and it was still pretty cold for tge locals. good access to done fantastic eateries if you can stay awake late enough!

Review 94:No restaurant service in evening Limited and expensive bar service

Review 95:Nice riverside location near ferry terminal Quite good breakfast Comfortable room Good for 3 star

Review 96:The bathroom slighty cramped. The fact that they do not do dinners.

Review 97:Good location close to ferry which took us to Cadiz and back which saved us the hassle of taking the car to Cadiz and finding parking. Breakfast was good.

Review 98:The room could have been a tiny bit bigger but was ok. And there were smokers in Non-Smoking rooms which was offensive to a Non-Smoker like myself!

Review 99:Very nice hotel centrally located to the port, bodegas and famous sites, like the Castllio de San Marcos.

Review 100:I booked a smoking room online, to be told the next day that the room was a none smoking room! I could feel the mattress springs in my sleep, very uncomfortable. The bathroom curtain was white with brown marks on it. I was very unsure what this was. The receptionist had a bad telephone manner. The Wifi never worked in the room.

Review 101:I liked the waiter who served my room service breakfast.

Review 102:Avoid rooms facing the river because of traffic noise. Breakfast below average. Reception staff not helpful.

Review 103:OK room, beautiful bathroom, nice roof terrace.

Review 104:The WiFi was really on and off which was annoying as I needed to work in the evenings and this slowed me down. Also make sure you have a Spanish phrase book as some of the staff only speak Spanish. If you get up for an early morning shower be prepared for it to be cold. I complained about this and was told I should have run it for 10 mins to get it heated. Maybe I would have done this if I had time but that was not the case.

Review 105:Reception staff are very friendly and let me know about places I could go and eat. Make sure you eat at the restaurant opposite the main entrance of the hotel. The food is phenomenal and staff extremely friendly. Take a Spanish phrase book with you tho.

Review 106:The beds were very firm which for me wasnt such a good thing.

Review 107:Very clean hotel, pictures on website didnt do it justice. Lovely bigbeds. Easy access to catamaran over to Cadiz.

Review 108:Not recommended at all. - Personal really rude, the person in reception threw us the keys over the counter. She did not explain anything about Wi-Fi, breakfast, etc and barely greeted when we arrived or leave - Beds are too hard - Breakfast with low quality products and not much variety

Review 109:The Bacon was very poorly cooked - EVERY day Parking facilities very poor This hotel should come to an arrangement with the HUGE carpark opposite the hotel - this was a massive 15€/day

Review 110:alles behavle .....

Review 111:Rooms expensive for 100,- euros per night, because there was nothingextra. Very basic rooms.

Review 112:Location was good.service was reasonable.not enough entertainment inthe hotel.

Review 113:slightly dated style

Review 114:Location - opposite to ferry service to Cadiz. Near good restaurants - especially good opposite entrance. Room size Roof top pool

Review 115:The upper rooms are a little dated with carpets; on the Friday and Saturday nights the hotel was very noisy with Germans and then Spaniards knocking on adjacent doors continually.

Review 116:Great location by the river with great swimming pool on the roof; easy access by ferry to Cádiz.

Review 117:Staff could be more friendly. I perceived a very cold kindness.

Review 118:If you want to visit Cadiz and Puerto de Santa Maria this place has a wonderful position. I stayed here 4 nights and I have always found free parking places around, AND the hotel is in a nice building two minutes walk for a nice breakfast bar and the catamaran boat to Cadiz (2,40 €). 10 minutes walk to the city center, and nice rooms.

Review 119:Wifi was not stable. I couldn't access during the afternoon. I could hear people flushing the toilet next door which was very disturbing early morning.

Review 120:Great location at city center, easy access to shops and restaurant. And it is near the beach as well. Rooftop swimming pool was nice. Great value for money!!

Review 121:The total lack of food and refreshment facilities. I have stayed at this hotel in the past and was very pleased with it, the restaurant and the bar service. On this occasion no bar facilities on view, very little choice of drinks and rather than being able to order a drink that you wanted, they opened a cupboard door and displayed 3 or 4 bottles to choose from. Could only get a coffee out of a slot machine, and if you wanted milk to put in your coffee, you had to pay twice. If you were lucky and you happened to actually find a drink you wanted out of the few available, it had to be before 22.30hrs because that was when the bar closed. Fortunately I had fami;y in the area for hospitality, because there was certainly none at this hotel. If you are on holiday and you would like to eat and drink, don't book into this hotel.

Review 122:The comfort of the bed and room, the friendlyness of some of the staff.

Review 123:Usual difficult underground garage for parking

Review 124:Rooftop pool Adjacent and very reasonably priced ferry to CADIZ Situated in heart of town to explore by foot

Review 125:Roof top Swimming pool; secure underground parking; friendly reception and greeting; good breakfast choice; central location; close to ferry to Cadiz.

Review 126:Everything the hotel is spotless and looks fantastic..staff extremelyhelpful and rooms a good size and all ameneties.Location is great as theuntouched typical Spanish town is beautiful

Review 127:This was our second stay in this hotel. Very nice location in SantaMaria. Great views from rooftop with pool. Nice rooms/bathrooms,super staff, relal Spanish feeling. All this comes with great value foryour money! We are happy to recomend this hotel.

Review 128:*staff were not very friendly *being woken up at 1.30am with a workman redecorating the bedroom next door *unheated pool *shower was cold/hot- had a mind of its own- boiling 1 minute, cold the next

Review 129:Location decor clean modern bedroom authentic lobby pool and roof terrace

Review 130:Bit outdated,

Review 131:Great location as its opposite the ferry terminal to Cadiz, and only 5mins walk to the street with restaurants on. Swimming pool looked good although it was a bit cold so we didnt use it!

Review 132:Very minor points. The selection at breakfast could be more varied, also the hot water supply system tended to be on the slow side and wasted a lot of water!

Review 133:For the reasons given above and we have stayed there previously. Ina good situation to get to other places of interest either by road, bus or train.
