Reviews for Hotel Sierra de Cazorla & SPA 3*
Review 1:For evening dining the restaurant lacked atmosphere and was chilly. The set evening meal was only fair, not really enough choices. Breakfast however was excellent.
Review 2:Comfort and location.
Review 3:Reception staff did not make us feel welcome when we arrived. Three of them on duty but they kept their heads down at screens and ignored us standing at the counter even though we were the only guests there. They identified certain rooms for booking.com guests and asked us to pay extra for an upgrade room in another section of the hotel. It seams that discounted prices mean poorer quality rooms at this hotel. Room was awful.
Review 4:In the middle of summer the water in the pool was cool.
Review 5:Barking dogs, but we kept the window closed and AC on and the pillows.
Review 6:Friendly staff, easy parking, comfortable room, fantastic views over the olive groves and the castle of La Iruela floodlit at night. We chose room only so when we ate at the hotel we ate in the small restaurant Los templarios not in the large impersonal room for all the full and half board clients which as it was over a fiesta weekend was a gunfight. Very nice little bar next door as well as the hotels bar/cafeteria.
Review 7:Quiet a lot of road noise, especially in the mornings. Rooms could be better insulated against traffic noise.
Review 8:Very helpful staff, very good location, very good breakfast and evening meal. Relaxing bar terrace with good selection of light meals or snacks.Good parking and pet friendly.
Review 9:Nice restaurant but the half board dinner might be a disappointment tothose not used to typical Spanish food. Having lived in Spain for awhile we were prepared for this, including the 8pm opening time, butstill didn't overly enjoy our two dinners. The menu is in Spanishonly. Any thought of a peaceful relaxing evening sitting on the balconywas totally ruined by the noisy thumping music from the floor below ourroom. A visting coach full of Spanish holiday makers were hell bent onhaving a good noisy knees up which went on until midnight. The sameoccured on the second night and we found ourselves wandering thedeserted town streets until late just to get away from the noise. Guesswe're getting old after all.We would, and probably will, stay again some time in the future as we love the park. However, we will check the coach party situation in advance and opt for a 'Menu del dia' during the day and a 'tapas' in the bar of an evening instead of the half board.
Review 10:Good location for access to Cazorla National Park and fantastic viewsacross the hills of dense olive groves. A male member of staff onreception spoke good English. (Having asked him questions in Spanish hequickly realised that it would be much quicker and wiser to answer me inEnglish). He was very helpful and provided us with maps and informationon the National Park. The room was clean with an unusual but verypleasant decor. The large bar was comfortable and relaxing with plentyof atmosphere and large panoramic windows to enjoy the views. Goodbuffet breakfast choice including an option to order an English friedbreakfast, albeit with Spanish bacon and sausages.
Review 11:Marco the owner is very hands on and always available when required. The Hotel is small and furnished in the traditional style which enhances the old Spanish farm house . Pool is large with chilled water which was great considering the climate. I have no problem in recommending . Great Tapas Bar in the near by town.Marco will recommend 3 different Bars \ restaurants. Many thanks Marco and team we loved the suite and the care you gave us.
Review 12:Friendly, clean, comfortable, good food, panoramic location, the mountains and countryside, the ´´Switzerland of Spain´´
Review 13:Spa was not included
Review 14:everything was good
Review 15:La habitación
Review 16:El entorno
Review 17:Family room quiet small with very small bathroom.
Review 18:Swimming pool, breakfast. Friendly staff. Private parking (but for experienced drivers)
Review 19:Everything was good. Fabulous spa. Food good. Staff friendly. Room spacious and clean with lovely view. Great value for money.
Review 20:We didn't have dislikes.
Review 21:Adored the location, with its stunning outlook, the breakfast was excellent - we had our evening meals elsewhere, and the staff pleasant. The value was also very good.
Review 22:Maybe the evening meal being 8 pm. We would have preferred to have looked out to the olive fields rather than the dark cliff face but we wen't in our rooms that long & you were busy accommodating everyone else.
Review 23:The location was spectacular. Out of town so quiet ! Meals were very good value. Enjoyed the spa circuit but wished we'd have had more time in the water but that was our fault for arriving at the hotel late !
Review 24:Very nice view to the castel and the hills, very nice spa ( 25eur/pers), good food in general (very good bufet breakfast andmenues for dinner 12-15 eur). The staff is very nice and helpful theygave us indications where to go to hike a little bit and it was indeedspectacular. The hotel is 2 km away from Cazorla and it is situated in asmall village La Iruela. The room had heater and ac, modn tv, balcony, bath with tub. We loved the experience there and we will come back soonwith a group. Sierra de Cazorla has spectacular waterfalls and a verynice trek ( cerrada de elias).. Don't miss it!
Review 25:Everything was as advertised.
Review 26:The Room was very good and it's temperature was exellent for the time of year. We last visited 10 years ago with a coach party and the new additions to the old building are very good.
Review 27:Rooms had a strange décor more like you were in Thailand than Spain. Little bit further from Cazorla than they say
Review 28:Rooms were comfortable. Great views from their terrace
Review 29:- Room with balcony with view on the castle; - nice outside pool; - amazing Spa Area; - Restaurant is good with ok prices; - free parking at the hotel parking spaces; - perfect wifi internet connection; Cannot complain about anything. Am wondering why a 4th * is missing ;-)
Review 30:The wireless internet did not work so well in the room. It was possible to connect, but I had to sit in certain areas of the room for it to work.
Review 31:I loved this hotel and can definitely recommend it. We stayed in a 3* room which had a balcony with a view of the pool and the landscape. We spent a lot of time at the pool and at the cafe, which had reasonably-priced lunch/snacks. We chose to eat dinner at the restaurant a few nights (a la carte) and I loved the traditional Andalucian dishes. The breakfast buffet was also great with breads, fresh fruits, cold meats, and yogurt. It was also possible to order fried eggs or omelets. All the staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and efficient. I can't write anything about the spa, as I didn't try it, but it looked very nice. We were happy to be close to the natural park and received tips from the reception on good places to visit.
Review 32:Restaurant overpriced and food not very good. Some of the outside areas were quite shabby and needed a coat of paint
Review 33:We were able to take our dog Spa was really nice - lots of facilities
Review 34:The room was a bit drab. It needed painting in some places as there were quitet a few marks on the walla and a bit of mold on the bathroom ceiling.
Review 35:The stunning views of the countryside and the castle from the hotel balconies. The spa facilities were wonderful. A great time to relax and pamper yourself.
Review 36:Mesas del comedor excesivamente juntas. El spa no es gratuito. Podrian ofrecer algun servicio de spa incluido en precio de habitacion.
Review 37:Hotel muy comodo y confortable. Facil aparcamiento gratuito. Excelente desayuno.
Review 38:Nothing all good. My stay was perfect :)
Review 39:Location, staff, food options, views
Review 40:The brealfast was very good. The staff on reception and in the breakfast room were all very helpful and friendly.
Review 41:Food was mediocre. House wine was abysmal
Review 42:The location. The tranquility. The accessibility.
The Fine Print
