Reviews for Hotel Zumnorde Am Anger
Review 1:Internet is slow reaching the Hotel by car is not easy
Review 2:friendly staff, excellent Location in the old town of Erfurt, very good Dining Options, lovely breakfast
Review 3:The extractor fan attached to a motion sensor in the bathroom.
Review 4:The staff here are exceptional. Apart from their daily friendly professionalism, they took the time to urgently send by DHL to my next hotel my Australian adaptor which I had left behind. And because of their prompt action it arrived the next day. Thank you so much all Front Desk staff for such good service.
Review 5:Wifi was intermittent.
Review 6:Unique and comfortable room with a great view of a rooftop garden. Quiet, but in the middle of the town. Very convenient to everything.
Review 7:People smoking in the courtyard which our room and windows were facing and in a hot day with no airconditioning we could not open windows for air.. smoke was in our room:(
Review 8:Many rooms face on to the court yard which is home to a restaurant. We were kept up by people restaurant patrons until late. Internet was unavailable for most of the first day of our stay.
Review 9:The location was great. It was very easy to walk to all the major sites. The rooms were bright and very comfortable.
Review 10:Only one complaint in an otherwise perfect stay: the scrambled eggs were awful- hard, dry and rubbery, so unusual for Germany. Nobody touched them, so they must have realised something was wrong! The 5 minute boiled eggs were perfect!
Review 11:Lovely quiet room above courtyard with excellent walk-in shower and luxurious marble bathroom. Friendly, polite and obliging staff. Perfect location for the Old Town and transport connections on the Anger.
Review 12:The wifi dos not work from the room.
Review 13:The restaurant food was excellent & the staff very cheerful and helpful. The hotel had character, with many interesting elements, and the proximity to the old part, the Kramerbrucke, the Dom and the Hauptbahnhof made exploring such a charming city so interesting.
Review 14:huge room, nice bathtub and hair dryer, small presents like a bottle of water and wine as well as daily Belgian chocolate. Ultra-clean and calm, ideally located, free WiFi. Everything is awesome!
Review 15:Had a suite and they didn't even provide some water bottle. Didn't sleep much because of extremely thin and hard mattress. Bathroom smelled. Place needs updating. Very boring decor. Breakfast tables right in reception area.
Review 16:Parking garage, location
Review 17:Breakfast was quite busy and there wasn't the capacity for everyone in the breakfast room.
Review 18:Firstly Erfurt - what a beautiful city. Apparently not popular yet with British tourists as we were actually stopped in the street and asked how we new of Erfurt by someone. Zumnorde is a great family owned hotel, with private parking. We had a suite which was well equipped and spacious. All staff were helpful and professional.
Review 19:Takes quite some navigating to weave you way through the one way streets of the old city to find the entrance to the hotel's underground parking. Be warned about the tight turn into the narrow driveway. I was warned, but I didn't listen.
Review 20:Excellent, spotlessly clean, large airy rooms, right in the centre of the old part of town. Off street parking. No noise. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent array of choices for breakfast (although the coffee was very ordinary and had to be asked for separately for some reason, as everything else was laid out).
Review 21:Inflated prices for self-satisfied, ordinary hotel. 'Quiet room' had trams going by under the window. Weinstube charges extortionate prices for open wine and food.
Review 22:Good bed.
Review 23:Wish the room had a hot water pot so that I could have made a cup of instant coffee in the morning before going to breakfast.
Review 24:Very friendly and helpful staff; a great location in the Old Town; simple elegance of the facilities; a comfortable lobby bar for a nightcap.
Review 25:Difficult to reach the hotel by car; we had to park in an external parking (bit far from it, 500 mts) and had to reach it by walking to it. Guy at the reception not very nice in helping us with a solution for the car (actually, didn't try to help AT ALL), as we were asking how to reach the hotel parking... rooms can be HOT (visited during Sept. 2014), no air conditioning!!
Review 26:Hotel right in the city center of Erfurt (which is BEAUTIFUL). Good breakfast. Rooms were ok
Review 27:This is the fourth time I've stayed at this hotel and in the past I've found that if travelling to it by car it can be difficult. The one-way system and the narrow streets can be confusing. By train it's much easier.
Review 28:The design of the hotel is unusual and this is echoed in some of the rooms, These are in very good, clean condition and pleasant style without being bland. The attention to detail is good and the price through Booking.com makes it a bargain. The location is useful as it's near enough the main station to make access easy. The breakfast is relatively expensive but is worth the money in my view.
Review 29:The Bells! The Bells! The Bells! They ring every 15 mins all day long and on the hour, they bang out the number of the hour. It is extremely annoying if you are trying to, as we all were, take a nap after having flown a long distance. And the heat, which made having the windows open a necessity, just intensified the annoyance factor of the bells plus the street noise. Also, there is a shoemaker or shoe repair person in the lower level below the hotel and he has a machine which makes a terrible racket, which really disturbs guests. It sounds just like a jackhammer. Carpet throughout desperately needs to be replaced. Even though only two years old according to the employee I spoke with, it looks terrible. Not a good impression. About 40 rooms but only two fans on the entire property. This is totally unacceptable. Sadly I cannot return to this hotel unless they make some fixes. About the BELLS they can do nothing, sadly, but they can ask the shoe store to limit the use of their noisy machine, and they can install a fan in each room. Cost of a fan? About $25. A small price to pay for the comfort of their guests.
Review 30:I have stayed at this hotel about six times over the years. The location just cannot be beat. It is so close to the major sites and on a beautiful shopping street that is mostly pedestrian. Breakfast is very good.
Review 31:The room and the location were excellent.
Review 32:Excellent location, helpful staff, and very fairly priced rooms.
Review 33:Perfect staff that knows how to mix a correct attitude with a personla caual approach The location is great and the room is just wonderful!
Review 34:Location in Centre town
Review 35:Driving to the hotel was difficult as the street was blocked off from the most direct route due to construction.
Review 36:Location was wonderful
Review 37:No air conditioning system
Review 38:Perfectly positioned to see Erfurt, restaurants and shops on hand.
Review 39:Friendly staff Nice hotel placed in the citysentet
Review 40:Problem with aircon was not resolved and promised alternative was not communicated. Staff were most apologetic.
Review 41:Great central location
Review 42:Friendly staff, very comfortable room right on the main shopping and restaurant walk
Review 43:Nothing !!
Review 44:Staff Location Cosy decoration Quiet Feels like home Awesome breakfast
Review 45:Location, in the center of Erfurt
Review 46:central location near old city (a few minutes walk from "Fischmarkt"), pleasant modern rooms, good breakfast, firendly personnel, good hotel Restaurant, hotel parking available (a bit narrow for larger cars, but manageable)
Review 47:Location was not so convenient for driving a car to -- many streets are under repair right now (Sep 2013).
Review 48:Room was spacious and elegant; location near Fischmarkt was convenient for walking.
Review 49:Substantial roadworks made arrival a tricky journey through tortuous narrow streets, and the charge for breakfast is exotic!
Review 50:Fantastic location in the heart of the 19thC centre of town and close to the more touristy medieval part. Fabulous room - light, comfortable, spacious. We ate in their outside courtyard and had excellent food and attentive service. Highly recommendable.
Review 51:For the facilities and location I could have got a comparable hotel for 2/3rds of the price and would have done so had they had availability for two consecutive nights. The Zumnorde had the availability (no doubt because of the price) so I stayed there.
Review 52:The Zumnorde could not be faulted for its cleanliness, it is possibly the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed at and I do a lot of business travel staying in hotels 2 or 3 times a week. Excellent.
Review 53:Road works made it very difficult to get to the hotel car park !! Of course not the hotels fault
Review 54:Very comfortable, hotel with character ,renovations were happening, but wasn't any in convenience , we loved the restaurant and the location was amazing ..
Review 55:Absolutely the best location if you're wanting to be in the heart of Erfurt. The hotel was comfortable and the breakfast was absolutely top-notch...the best I've ever enjoyed.
Review 56:Breakfast (which I did not take) was disproportionately expensive at €16.
Review 57:Simply great value for money - ebpverything you need and nothing you don't.
Review 58:the only thing was that I forgot to ask for a non smoking room.
Review 59:the area was great, right in town with plenty of restaurants and shops around, and withing walking distance of all the sights.
Review 60:The bathroom floor is slippery. I slipped and fell, although I was able to grab something to cushion me from falling harder. I think the tiles should have anti-slip strips to prevent these accidents from happening.
Review 61:Hotel Zumnorder Am Anger is a quaint and charming hotel, typical of a European hotel, but with larger-than-usual rooms. We got a suite and it was very nice, spacious, comfortable, and very clean. The hotel staff are very warm and helpful. We loved the location of the hotel, as it is in the center of the shopping district.
Review 62:Curtains in the room (cheap style and not obscurant enough) Restaurant (we expected something better)
Review 63:Location, Hotel-Staff, Elegance,
Review 64:Great location for a city or business trip
Review 65:Breakfast Location
Review 66:Weak water pressure in the shower in my particular room (112).
Review 67:Location, room space, breakfast. The hotel's restaurant has very nice сigar room.
Review 68:fiendly quite easy to get to fom train station
Review 69:Location, space of room, quality of breakfast
Review 70:We were thoroughly happy with our stay at the hotel.
