Review 1：Reception experience was bad. Staff were unhelpful, systems driven and not welcoming. We booked three rooms for ourselves, kids and parents and asked for two of the rooms to be close together - they were all double rooms. When we arrived the rooms allocated by their system for ourselves and the kids were far apart but he room for my parents-in-law was just opposite one of our rooms. Not surprisingly, we just used the two rooms close together for ourselves and kids and my parents-in law went in the more distant room. When we checked out the hotel insisted we pay extra as they said different people were in the rooms as compared with the booking! Even after long correspondence with the management - they have maintained their crazy position. It was a real disappointment as they have spent a lot of money on renovations and have done a great job on the hotel.

Review 2：Hotel has recently been redeveloped and rooms were good sized and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Location is 1st class for Erfurt centre.

Review 3：Everything about this hotel was wonderful! Location: Close to the Christmas Markets (a small one was going on right around the corner as well as the famous Erfurt Market within walking distance). Close driving distance to Weimar and Coburg to see those Christmas markets also. Cleanliness: We were in the "old" section of the hotel, the room itself was very clean, though the carpet could stand to be replaced. Large rooms and bathroom for Europe. Onsite parking (12 euros per day), OUTSTANDING (something for everyone) breakfast included in the room price. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who asks and look forward to another stay. Very friendly and most helpful staff. Did I mention the OUTSTANDING breakfast? Don't hesitate, book your stay, you won't be sorry.

Review 4：The Hotel is undergoing an addition and the addition should not be rented until complete. We had a handicapped person in our family whom they sent down a flight of stairs, through the garage, up an elevator, rather than have them walk around the building. We notified them and Booking.com of a change needed in our reservation and they refused to change it and billed us for the day we had cancelled. The desk clerk is extremely unfriendly.

Review 6：A Large hotel in such a busy area should have more than one person working at reception--the wait to check in and check out was quite long. A desk chair in the room would also be appropriate.

Review 8：Confusing to get to room. Still in the building stages. Confused about the breakfast. Said it was included in the price but wasn't aware that they meant coffee and biscuits in the room. We paid extra for breakfast because of confusion. Nice breakfast though if you pay for it.

Review 18：In fact - everything. We were just travellers-by and had heard little of Erfurt before. But it is a wonderful town with beautiful old buildings, and the hotel iis the jewel of the crown. Close by is a town square where they play music in the evenings, and there are restaurants all around it, with excellent food. Walk a few yards and there is the "modern" shop district. Strongly recommended!

Review 25：Rooms were a bit dated, with a 1950s look. Wifi was a pain to get and use, more trouble than it was worth. Parking two blocks away due to construction at the back of the building.

Review 26：Ideal location next to a nice plaza lined with restaurants and next to the Old Town's historic bridge. Elevator benefitted my wife, who has trouble with stairs. Helpful receptionist, and breakfast was a good value.

Review 27：Everything was to our liking during our four nights visit in late May. However - for hot summer nights I would have wanted air conditioning (I imagine this will be provided in the new rooms that are now under construction)

Review 28：Several good restaurants within five minutes walk. Shopping areas and tourist attractions are also easily accessible. Reception staff were courteous, helpful and friendly - nothing was too much trouble for them. We paid a little more for a 'Comfort Room' which I thought was well worth the extra cost. It overlooked the road which could be quite noisy if you like to sleep with the windows open (unfortunately there was no air conditioning). One word of caution - a major extension to the hotel is under construction at the back which might disturb guests in rear-facing rooms until building work is finished - later this year. Breakfast - hot and cold buffet available - was really rather good.

Review 29：We could not get on our wifi the second morning. Also, the wall behind the bed was covered in dust. Otherwise the room was clean. If we had the chance to return, we would ask for a room in the back since it was very noisy on the street, especially after the bars closed...3 am.

Review 31：Wifi did not work at all, we had connection to router but no access to Internet on any of our devices which worked perfectly everywhere else in Germany, they sent us to a nearby hotel to use their wifi which they also have listed in the info packs in the rooms which tells you something. I need acces to wifi that's what I look for when booking hotels. Don't offer it if it doesn't work.

Review 61：The hotel is expanding and there is building work going on to the rear of the hotel, scheduled for completion next summer. The view demonstrates how little the contractor accords with our health and safety regulations! No protective gear (no helmets, high viz. etc) and unsecured ladders. But the 7am start time meant we were down early for breakfast! Would not stop me staying there again though.

Review 69：Parking! The hotel does not have its own parking as this is now a building site for an extension, restaurant and underground car park. You are required to park about half a mile away on a piece of waste land surrounded by a metal fence, which itself encloses another building site.

It seems that the hotel could have offered us some kind of coupon. We never found how what it was, how it worked, or what the price was. Anyway the parking house charged per hour, so it was actually cheaper than the price mentioned on booking.com.

Good buffet breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. Erfurt is a beautiful city with nice shopping opportunities. We would have liked to stay a day more.
