Reviews for Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor
Review 1:Staff were good at their job but lacked enthusiasm and spirit. It's my third stay in ten years and the service level is less personal with each stay.
Review 2:Well kept and stately property
Review 3:The charge for international calls is exorbitant. Concierge can be trained better to handle queries related to travel and airlines. We ultimately had to call the airlines ourselves and had to pay USD 190 for a 25 min call...I have never ever paid this much at any country/hotel in the past. Wifi did not work most of the time in the room. We didn't feel we got what we paid for, there is room for improvement.
Review 4:Beautiful property, best location. Amazing pool and interesting art exhibits within the property made the stay more appealing.
Review 5:the hotel's outside areas are very tired looking, there is no outside patio area near either the bar or the dining room. ( especially surprising since the bar has a huge selection of fine cuban cigars for sale ...one wonders where the guests could possibly smoke one!)- just a thin strip of space immediately outside lounge; you have to walk through the upstairs lounge area and lobby to access and return, wet, from the pool ; the standard guest rooms are ordinary and overpriced for Cambodia. The hotel's exterior is stuck in the 1970's, although the prices are very much 21st century. They don't seem to have realized that guest expectations have moved on...it is not enough just to offer a grand name, and historical -and, it must be said, beautiful common areas
Review 6:The suites, the breakfast, the ambiance, the common areas in the main building, the attentive staff and excellent service, the semi-enclosed outside verandah/seating area off the suites
Review 7:The hotel is all you expect from a Raffles hotel and more. Wonderful staff who anticipate your every need and do so in a most charming way. I would change nothing about this hotel and would love to stay again for a longer time!
Review 8:We have received excellent services during our stay in the hotel, especially would like to thank to Mr. San Primprey for breakfast every morning in the restaurant. His hospitality to us and other guests are great, so we would like to come to stay in Raffles next time.
Review 9:The only complaint I would say is that when we first arrived very tired from our journey there was some shuffling of rooms. They originally had us in a room with twin beds which we would have never booked and when we asked for a queen or king style bedroom they tried to upgrade us by showing a much more expensive room. In the end we were given a normal room with king bed that was perfect.
Review 10:Beautiful old world charm of the hotel that has been kept up very well with excellent service, all the comforts of a luxury hotel and delicious meals. It is like an oasis in the still emerging economy of Siem Reap. It is very safe, clean, and beautiful.
Review 11:Food offer incredibly overpriced. London prices in Cambodia - really? Pool area rather stark and water temperature like a hot tub but then again air temperature 40+ degrees no wonder really. Rooms in old wing need upgrading for it to hold on to its Grand Dame status.
Review 12:Staff, decoration oh and did I say staff. Absolutely first rate.
Review 13:We split our stay in Siem Reap between Raffles Hotel and one mid-budget hotel. Here in Raffles, staff was kind but reception staff is not really helpful : really disappointed of our arrival which has nothing link to a 5-star hotel : tuk tuk drivers drop us outside hotel, no staff came to help us to carry the luggage and even open the front door. We were on our own. Same when we left. No reactivity. We had better services and consideration in a mid-budget hotel.
Review 14:Architecture of the hotel, atmosphere, beautiful swimming pool
Review 15:The staff were all friendly. My friend and I were both happy from day one. We got early check-in, we got upgraded to a suite (great view of the garden) everyone was friendly and helpful. Everyone tried to help to make sure we got the best experience Raffles has to offer. The room was clean, in fact they clean it twice a day. We got all the bottled water we need for outer 4-day stay. I will definitely stay at RGDA again.
Review 16:The price of food is too expensive
Review 17:I like everything in this hotel. They have very friendly staff , incredible swimming pool , allow m to have late check out and have wonderful place to take a shower before we leave but the price of dining is a bit too expensive
Review 18:How can I be expected to answer the question under 2, which are cast in Khmer without translation into English and allow no free comment? I also dislike being addressed by forename. Such familiarity is impertinent and unworthy of the hotel.
Review 19:The wifi sometimes wasn't so great
Review 20:I love the grandness of this hotel, with it's colonial architecture, beautiful pool and lush setting conveniently located within 5 minutes of the main part if town. If you book a room make sure to ask to stay in the original building
Review 21:Prices high for Cambodia level. Bathtub very awkward for a senior couple. Inadequate shower curtain so bathroom got wet & slippery
Review 22:Location. Friendly & helpful staff. Comfortable room & beds. All tour arrangements handled very well.
Review 23:A la carte food from the menu were slightly expensive!

Review 35:Quiet, very peaceful and relaxing.
Review 36:Children facilities are limited
Review 37:An excellent luxury hotel with immense character and culture of customer service. very impressed with quality of staff
Review 38:Wifi sometimes poor in some area of the hotel
Review 39:Location Quality of service
Review 40:We didn't find anything to not like.
Review 41:All the staff were superb. The hotel classically sophisticated but relaxed, and ideally located.
Review 42:The airconditioning in every room needs revitalizing. Especially during the hot summer months.
Review 43:All staff are very helpful, friendly, and five stars quality.
Review 44:This is probably the best hotel in the WORLD !! The service was impeccable. I would highly recommend to everyone - excellent restaurants, great rooms, and superb service.
Review 45:They charge $36 for a bottle of Australian Pinot Grigio, or $12/glass, with tiny measures or about 9 measures bottle = $108/bottle when drinking by the glass. Better to buy your wine by the bottle!! Also, they have a policy of the staff addressing you by your name, so you have staff going out of their way to call you by your name, and I felt everyone was just pushing for a tip!!
Review 46:This is a genuine old world hotel, excellent service, mature surrounds, good kitchen and a fine pool.
Review 47:Mosquitos and bugs, but it's Cambodia ... what do you expect, right?
Review 48:Definitely its service. Extremely friendly staff. It's not a small hotel, you'll be amazed by how many people know your name.
Review 49:Hairdryer not so easy as usage Selection of food menus a bit poor for lunch or dinner
Review 50:Staff so helpfull Food so good Comfort of rooms on top Swimming pool so convenient with very helpfull service
Review 51:The hotel was a calming influence amongst the surrounding husstle and bustle of the town. The staff were without exception well trained to pander to any requests and their enthusiasm was a joy.
Review 52:I dont want to say we don't like but the bathrooms were not veryspacious and brand new but it was well-functioning and very clean if youconsider the age of the building.
Review 53:We very much liked the colonial architecture and the authenticity of thehotel. The service was immaculate and the food was really very good!
Review 54:The staff are more concerned about you paying the bill, rather than customer service
Review 55:The hotel has a grand ambiance and colonial feel
Review 56:This is a excellent property. Had fun for 5 days. Staff took care of everything. Must stay in siem reap Shivaprasad Bangalore
Review 57:The staff were exceptional and quick to attend to any inquiries. The rooms were immense and the pool big enough to swim laps.
Review 58:Lovely pool, courteous and helpful staff, wonderful food.
Review 59:Having to leave
Review 60:Excellent service and comfort that you would expect from the Raffles name. Quality of the Food was exceptional.
