Reviews for Color Hotel Skagen

Review 1:Some of the other travelers kept up until rather late with music and drinking

Review 2:The place is inviting, the staff were very helpful and the place had many facilities such as a garden, place for children to roam, etc.

Review 3:We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights at the Color Hotel. Our room was nicely appointed and very clean. The staff were very accommodating. We attended a special party at the hotel and the dinner was fantastic and your wait staff were extremely professional. Well done!

Review 4:Quite worn down facilities, specially activity room. Relatively high price compared to value (paid DKK 2300 per night for familiy room/ apt.). Breakfast below average (did not try other meals/ restaurant)

Review 5:Clean rooms and facilities. Nice and polity staff. OK selection of activities. Central location in Skagen.

Review 6:Poor cleaning of the room Dirty floors and bathroom Would like it to be better next time Change bed every 2-3 days - wasn't change during our five days stay

Review 7:Nice Hotel - great location - beautiful poolarea - good service

Review 8:I think the children's menu in the restaurant was unhealthy. We chose the fish and it was far too fat and salty for children. There was a small playground that was nice, but we would have liked if there was a bigger playground for children.

Review 9:I liked the family room and the interior of the hotel. I loved the furniture in the hotel and the swimming pool area was clean and nice. Also liked the mix of hotel rooms and Apartments.

Review 10:No entertainment for children - a few toys or crayons would be a nice touch in reception or cafe area. Also, smaller bikes would be beneficial.

Review 11:Restaurant

Review 12:The kitchen forgot our dinner order, but we got it in the end, and were compensated for the delay. Very busy at breakfast, due to different tour groups.

Review 13:The location was good with ample parking. Rooms are spacious with functional furniture and comfortable bed. Decent TV programs. Shower enclosure in the bathroom is a bit strange, but it works! Dinner in restaurant was good and breakfast ok. Great wine cellar!

Review 14:This is a really nice hotel - spacious, tastefully decorated and with good facilities. The pool was sparkling and very inviting but we had to move on. Skagen itself was much more interesting than we expected and we wished we could have stayed longer. Two travel tours were there but there was not the crush that normally occurs. The layout and space accommodated us all.

Review 15:Spiderwebs over bed. The room reeked of smoke when we stept inn.

Review 16:you have to pay to rent bikes

Review 17:spacious apartment, fully equipped

Review 18:Everything was ok. We had a nice stay.

Review 19:Flying Ants everywhere in the bathroom and near the bay Windows, Paying againt for minigolf what a rip

Review 20:Position Of the hôtel

Review 21:The apartments don't have daily cleaning and fresh towels.

Review 22:Location and space around hotel for Children to play. Pool is a hit.

Review 23:friendly people

Review 24:location

Review 25:Bed poor.Duvets too heavy

Review 26:Hotel staff are great, wifi very good.

Review 27:No character Extremely expensive for what it is

Review 28:standard facilities

Review 29:Litt for langt til sentrum, ellers ok

Review 30:family room needs to have some extras not just a pull out couch. Most families could use a small tub for babies,a kettle and a cot. The breakfast was okay and some of the essentials like yogurt had been eaten up and not refilled.

Review 31:clean and staff is friendly

Review 32:The breakfast was, although fine, there are clearly some 'short cuts' being made ie. machine coffee - instead of fresh brewed and powdered eggs - instead of fresh scrambled eggs. I recognise this is based on personal choices - but if the hotel is looking for suggestions of improvements - these areas would be positive changes.

Review 33:The staff are very friendly and service minded.

Review 34:Room was situated near front entrance hotel, where people gathered to smoke, it was extremely noisy during 2 out of 3 nights, and since the hotel is owned by a Norwegian ferry line, coaches were constantly parked in front of our room to either drop off or pick up guests.. We were told we had a quiet room in a quiet hotel, but unfortunately we were exhausted after 3 nights in this hotel!!

Review 35:Room was spacious, but then it was a "superior" room

Review 36:Walking to the outer building during the rain.

Review 37:The cooperation of Staff and food was excellent. Even though it was rainy, we were able to enjoy the atnosphere. The gardeb atnospher and natural surroundings outside our room.

Review 38:The room was fine, the only thing missing for us was an iron and ironingboard and a mini bar fridge would also have been great.

Review 39:Bike hire, especially as the hotel was slightly out of town.

Review 40:Expensive for a small room which just fitted 5. Water saving shower made it hard to get wet and did not suit the price of this hotel.

Review 41:Ease of check-in and great breakfast. Prepared to take a booking for 5 people.

Review 42:It is quite far from the center of Skagen and the beaches (unless you are driving). It works to ride a bike, but walking is a little too far if you do it a few times during your stay. There's really nothing in the area around the hotel. I choose this hotel as I wanted something extra, hence the 4 stars, but once I got there I regret not booking something closer to the center for less money. There was nothing special about the room that you wouldn't get at a cheaper b&b. Also, our room was on the ground level with windows right by the main entrance, which made it quite noisy. The room was not well ventilated, and we needed to keep the window open. We arrived at noon, and the receptionist didn't volunteer and early check in although it turned out the room was ready. I had to ask for it.

Review 43:The hotel was ok. It was clean, and the bed was very comfortable..it had all the things you need, however it was nothing extra as I would expect for a 4 star hotel. The breakfast was good, but once again, it wasn't spectacular as one would expect for 4 stars.

Review 44:It was little far away from the city centre if one likes to feel the nice village athmosphere and have it within walking distance.

Review 45:We stayed at the apartment which was nice and comfortable. Pool and lawn with minigolf were nice extra.

Review 46:Resturant, which is new.

Review 47:They charge DKK 500,- for bringing a pet and they do not display that information anywhere on their website.

Review 48:Old....and creapy!

Review 49:Rather unfriendly staff

Review 50:That it was quiet and had a pool for the children to play in.

Review 51:PC did not have printer

Review 52:Nice and big main rooms

Review 53:Air Condition missing

Review 54:You could park your car in the same hotel. The room was confortable and clean. The services of this hotel were fantastics. We'll repited again.
