Reviews for Cortijo del Arte

Review 1:We were bothered by flies in the bedroom and the lounge area. A single bed was placed in the middle of the lounge which restricted our useable space? (Main sleeping area was upstairs).

Review 2:Quiet location. Our room opened out on to our personal patio area close to the pool. Large fridge in room.

Review 3:This Hotel was perfect for our requirements. We had to check out of a Villa at 10am and didn't fly until 11 in the evening. We booked an overnight stay at a very reasonable price but just spent the day there using the facilities. We had a beautiful lunch in the restaurant with really friendly staff. The hotel is about 20 minutes from Malaga airport which was perfect.

Review 4:We stayed four nights (Thursday to Sunday) at the end of June 2015 at the Cortijo del Arte and we were very pleased with everything on offer. Our room (104) overlooked the pool and whilst dimly lit, was nice and cool inside. Given the searing temperatures being experienced outside during our stay, we frequently retired to the room for a welcome cooling off period. There was also a table and chairs for our use on the patio immediately in front of our door. Our room was clean and tidy with a rustic feel to the furniture and décor. We were equipped with a TV and fridge and we felt that the drinks stocked in the fridge at 2 euros each (for soda, beer, etc.) was not unreasonable given what we have had to pay at other hotels in the past. The pool area has its own fridge available for guests and is well stocked with water, soda and wine for consumption. You are simply asked to fill out a form with your name, room number, items consumed and signature and the cost will be added to your bill on checkout.Breakfast was included in our rate and we thought it was good without being overpowering. We are not big breakfast eaters but we enjoyed the buffet style service along with the food on offer (fresh fruit, meats cheeses, bread, toast, coffee, etc.) which we were able to enjoy outside on the terrace. A wide selection of eggs was available and made freshly to order and served at your table. All staff we met from the manager, waiters, waitresses, and cleaning maids were extremely polite and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. A friend from Malaga telephoned us during our stay and the phone was promptly brought out to our table in front of our room.WiFi is not available in the room but it was a short walk to the Reception area where I was able to access the internet with my tablet PC free of charge.

Review 5:Despite being a training establishment the staff were unprepared to deal with the consequences of the water supply being cut off for a whole night. No buckets of water to help flush toilets. no bottles of water for guests to wash with etc. And only one person responsible for both the hotel and restaurant during the critical time.

Review 6:Location

Review 7:Not easy to find with the satnav. Better directions would have been useful, especially to say that it was just after the tunnel from Pizzara.

Review 8:Friendly staff who welcomed you and served in the restaurant. As we had to leave earlyish, they brought breakfast forward half an hour. Good restaurant with good quality and inexpensive wines.

Review 9:WiFi only available in reception and in the lobby Pool too small

Review 10:Very caring staff Great food

Review 11:excellent service great food nice room close to airport

Review 12:LOcation is excellent. Not far from Malaga but far enough to get away from it all.

Review 13:Poor signage - couldn't find reception and in fact couldn't find any staff at check in and check out. We were travelling in low season and the hotel appeared to be all but closed. Maybe it is a better place to stay in the warmer months, but in winter it is not very inviting.

Review 14:I like the idea of it being an old cortijo, but it has been converted into quite basic accommodation. Fair enough for a budget hotel though.

Review 15:The friendliness of the staff, the warm welcome, the food, thelocation, and the quiet. Nothing was too much trouble to Inge, (fromBelgium) who spoke perfect English and was a great hostess. I wouldrecommend Cortijo del Arte.

Review 16:Only staying one night.

Review 17:The location is superb if you want to get "out of the way" but still be close to Malaga airport. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, right down to making us a breakfast we hadn't paid for to take with us when they realised we would need to leave early for a flight before breakfast usually starts. The restaurant is a definite "must try" - very good food at good prices. We would definitely return here amd stay longer.

Review 18:The charm of the hotel itself. The restaurant was very good.

Review 19:Very nice accomodation with space for the children. Excellent food.
