Reviews for Borei Angkor Resort & Spa

Review 1:The staff was amazing. They gave us a free upgrade to a King Suite room when we arrived. They treated us like family not customers. The different members of the front desk would remember us & ask us about our trip. I loved that they had a Hospitality desk that could set up tours and offer suggestions. Wonderful breakfast bar...many choices & very fresh food.

Review 2:Could do with nicer coffee at breakfast. The tuk tuk arranged by the hotel are a rip off. Go outside the front gate and get one yourself.

Review 3:Great service, nice pool. Excellent spread at breakfast. The daily sunset cocktail hour at the damnak lounge is brilliant

Review 4:Staff very willing to help but at times some miscommunication because of language barriers.

Review 5:The 2 hour coconut massage for only $60. Would recommend against couples massage however, unless you are truly a couple. Facilities, pool, room, food were all gorgeous. Loved how we were greeted with cool towels and drinks.

Review 6:-Spa very poor, sauna and steam bath not working -Very expensive for the quality of what they offer - A lot of light in the room

Review 7:Breckfast tuck tuck service at the door

Review 8:There was no ethics, cleanliness was poor, housekeeping bad, way too much overpriced, for vegetarians worst food, breakfast tables never set, had to adk for napkins, cutlery. No replenish of things from housekeeping. New year dinner prices were exhuberant. A very bad experience.

Review 9:nothing

Review 10:The duty host Mr. JOHN was very helpful and friendly to us! Airport shuttle was greatly arranged and the Xmas eve dinner was so amazing thanks to preparation of all hotel staff members! Definitely will recommend Borei to other tourists!!!

Review 11:The breakfast buffet was excellent but they don't know how to make an omelette. You don't scramble in the contents of an omelette. You fold them in.

Review 12:Arrangement with tour guide and other external services

Review 13:Oh, unfortunately there was a pack of wild dogs who decided to bark continuously from 12am, when I enquired at the front desk i was informed that its the neighbours dogs-Nothing the hotel could do about it I perfectly understood, I was offered a room change which I declined and worn ear plugs at bedtime.

Review 14:What did I like? everything from when I walked into the lobby! I've read reviews on this hotel- there was a lots of positives with a few negatives which I'm not sure why-Love loved loved everything-friendly staff, wonderful choice of breakfast, bed, room, pool etc. No faults whatsoever. I'll be returning with my family next year.

Review 15:The hotel was amazing. Beautiful, and clean. I felt like I was at a resort in Hawaii. The staff was so kind and easy to communicate with. The pool and spa were wonderful. I had a two hour massage that was excellent.

Review 16:No bad experience.

Review 17:Fabulous, every member of staff treated you with a smile and very helpful with anything. Best hotel we've ever stayed in! The only slight failing was the evening meal otherwise top hotel.

Review 18:Minor, but slightly away from the heart / buzz of the town (only 5-10 mins in a tuk-tuk) Sometimes a bit of traffic noise, as hotel is next to Highway 6

Review 19:Staff are very courteous, helpful and attentive Well set out rooms and decoration throughout Easy access to both town (market area) and the temples (half way between) by car or tuk-tuk (hotel has its own, with very good drivers)

Review 20:Amazing resort, felt like a real VIP experience from the beginning. Staff were very friendly and always went out of their way to accommodate. Would recommend anyone to stay at this resort. Breakfast buffet is just amazing and out of this world.

Review 21:The Spa needs hand rails to get in and out of the tubs.It is unsafe at present and easy to slip. The coffee at breakfast was never hot and only lukewarm Excellent buffet breakfast choices otherwise Brilliant crepes thankyou

Review 22:Lovely staff and clean hotel with good food and reasonable drinks

Review 23:Ordered chicken scewer at bar and was the smallest thing I have ever seen, lick a tooth pick!

Review 24:Clean and very well kept, rooms with very stylish wood were amazing! Nice pool and bar and staff very friendly. Would stay again

Review 25:Staff inflexible in finding a room for me earlier than 2.00 pm booking in time. I was asked to sit by the pool for 4.00 hours until a room became available at, or before 2.00 pm. In a hotel that size I'm sure that some guests left early in the morning for flights. I had a broken foot, was on crutches and it was not impressive to be treated this way.

Review 26:Excellent oasis hideaway from hustle and bustle of Siem Reap. Great for holiday location. I only stayed one night.

Review 27:Great location, fantastic staff (we had a wonderful young man called Chen who works on the front desk who practically arranged all of our needs for our visit). Lovely breakfast and the hotel allowed us a couple of extra hous for check out at no extra cost.

Review 28:A bit dated "No tips no clean attitudes" from the cleaning lady, poor job even with very generous tips

Review 29:Reasonable price with good facilities Extensive wooden decorations Overall the staffs were very helpful Free Airports shuttle service The breakfast was the highlight

Review 30:The aircon wasn't working. The top floor of the hotel was under renovation, therefore, the corridor on the third floor was quite dusty and surrounded with the smell of paint thinner. And the hotel is fairly old, the furniture and sofa inside the room were dusty too.

Review 31:Day trips seemed a bit expensive- I organized my own 2 day trip to Angkor Wat with a local tuk tuk driver, which was far cheaper than the day trip organized by the hotel to the floating village.

Review 32:Nice hotel and helpful staff. Could walk into town - if you dare! Happy Hours after a lengthy day trip to Angkor Wat. Good selection at breakfast.

Review 33:The Staff were extremely helpful and always very polite . The pool area was not busy so there was plenty of sun beds.Breakfast was delicious with a great choice.

Review 34:Very good hotel with reasonable location.$2 tuk tuk ride to pub street & markets. Good breakfast & all tours arranged at hotel. Staff very helpful & friendly.

Review 35:Staff and service are excellent paticularly Thomas and Say who were both super helpful and friendly. The breakfasts are great, and both pool and spa are perfect after a day exploring temples. Great value for money particularly sunset drinks and canapés and the rooms are decent sizes and clean. Location is easy to get to town and temples - I would absolutely stay here again.

Review 36:A bit too commercialised - they are trying to get money off you all the time.

Review 37:Generally amazing. Great breakfast. I hadn't realised this was a 5* hotel when we booked.

Review 38:Landscape is small. On website must advertise clear pool views or garden views if pool views write pool views if garden views write garden views when I stay here they provide garden views it can confuse.

Review 39:Very good smell of perfume. Good environment. Swimming pool. Breakfast has a lot of kind of delicious foods. Bed is comfort. Bath room is good and it provide fast water.

Review 40:The place was beautiful and the staff excellent. The hospitality staff set me up with a great driver and tour guide. Could not ask for more. I would recommend Borei Angkor Resort to everyone.

Review 41:The rooms need some renovation, which was being carried out during our stay. Disappointed by the quality of the fruit at breakfast.

Review 42:The staff were fantastic, especially Chen who took great care to see that we enjoyed our stay. Don't miss the chance to try Sukhman's cocktails at the rooftop bar.

Review 43:A little run down - need new ping pong table and bats =). Location not close to market but the steady stream of tuktuks made that a small issue. Hotel food is average and a little too expensive.

Review 44:The staff was amazing. Very friendly. Bath room was awesome.

Review 45:There was nothing we did not like. One suggestion is that with all the wonderful oranges in Battambang, you might consider fresh-squeezed orange juice as part of the fantastic breakfast!

Review 46:We were so impressed with the courtesy and professionalism of the staff! They went out of their way to speak to us by name and which was impressive as there were a lot of guests. One staff member in particular was Ms Nimoul, who was our first point of contact and made it her goal to see throughout our stay that our every need was met. She truly represented the hotel with excellence and grace and made stay enjoyable!

Review 47:Room 314.

Review 48:Only problem was the room allocated on checkin, 314. I asked for twin beds overlooking the pool not knowing the only twin room on this floor had a very poor view and overlooked a bank of airconditioners. A room change was made the next day with a complimentary bottle of wine.

Review 49:If anything, pool was a little on the warm side, but really not a major problem in the scheme of things.

Review 50:Beautiful presentation in the lobby area, so nice to arrive there after a long day of travel, greeted by cool towels and a refreshing drink. The staff were so lovely, friendly and helpful, breakfast buffet was extensive (yummy) The manager helped us out with a late check out as we had an evening flight to Vietnam. Short tuk tuk ride into town (highlight for us was trying to do a left hand turn out of the resort, only wish I had videoed it from the tuk tuk).

Review 51:Staff were very friendly and welcoming - personalised check-in services, arranged tour to angkor wat and easy transport to city centre about US$2 each way, and can make arrangements with the driver to pick up back to hotel

Review 52:its a bit far from the town Center and the food in the resort is very expensive, like London Mayfair price. Eg spring roll will cost 9 dollars....

Review 53:The resort is very nice

Review 54:I loved everything about this place. The pool was great. Breakfast and ALL staff were wonderful human beings. I was given an upgrade because the pool view room i requested was not available and i really appreciated that. The bookings guy i dealt with was amazing... I wish i could remember his name... I will definitely be going back!

Review 55:We couldn't get a double room as there is maintenance in the hotel so we were put next to these rooms. Great grinders & nail guns at 7am. We had only booked 2 nights thank goodness as although promised a change of room nothing was done until 9pm on our second night when we were at dinner. The manager did apologize for the error & asked if we would consider staying in a suite for same price. Unfortunately this was too late as we'd booked another hotel.

Review 56:Reception area is lovely. We just had a bad experience there

Review 57:Building work was going on during our stay which was very noisy, when we spoke to manager he arranged for us to use sister hotel pool area and also complimentary massage which was very nice.

Review 58:Hotel location was good, nice pool area and friendly staff

Review 59:I loved EVERYTHING!! the room, the bed, the pool, the very rich breakfast, the service... Mr. Ptsey the reception manager went above and beyond to make sure I enjoy my time at the hotel and solve any problem I had very fast, personal service like this you get only at the royal palace. could not ask for more. Incredible hotel, real 5 stars and excellent value for money.

Review 60:The disabled toilet on arrival in the lobby was broken not a good sign. The staff are not entirely observant and in our haste to visit the temples we left a rucksack and umbrellas outside the front of the hotel. It was difficult but our driver for the day managed to communicate on our behalf with the hotel to secure them so they weren't lost. There seemed to be a lot of time and effort used trying to communicate with the hotel just to put the objects left in to a safe place.

Review 61:The hotel swimming pool was fantastic. The rooms were very spacious and the beds very comfortable. The massage and spa facilities were essential after visiting Anghor Wat and were excellent

Review 62:Our only real complaint was that for the first night we were not given the room we booked online. But the staff was really friendly and the issue was solved the next day.

Review 63:We loved our stay at Borei Angkor. The pool is great, staff are always wanting to assist you, especially the guy named John. Great, really great breakfast.

Review 64:air con in our room was too cold and not adjustable (even after trying all the buttons on the switch) staff kindly helped but unable to fix it either.

Review 65:very helpful and accommodating staff, great location, great swimming pool, little snacks served upon our arrival - very heartwarming and sweet :) spacious, clean, beautiful environment, nice food (with live performance at night) great location, close to tourist attractions

Review 66:Only a few details: Wi Fi not always working Some broken fixtures in the room /towel hooks in bathroom, sockets Heat in the lift and communal spaces near the rooms

Review 67:Attentive and kind assistance Room Personalised staff assistance Breakfast Pool

Review 68:Our only real complaint was the bed was really firm bit we got used to it after the first night.

Review 69:We loved our stay at Borei Angkor. The pool is great, staff are always wanting to assist you, everything is so spacious.

Review 70:There's an unusual, unpleasant smell in the corridor of the hotel.

Review 71:Bed is nice and very comfortable. The massage is the best experience, so far, that we've had while staying in the hotel. What is good as well, is the shop offers stamps to send out postcards.

Review 72:Prices for services like car rental, massages and restaurant are really expensive for the country, pratically like european price!!

Review 73:the staff is really welcoming and helpful. We apreciated the free shuttle to the airport. The hotel is beautiful, like in the photos of the website.

Review 74:nothing, given the exceptional low hotel price

Review 75:The staff in all departments provided excellent services, especially the Front Desk Manager - Mr. Moon. We were travelling with 2 other couples. All their request are fulfilled. After one night, one room was changed due to noise. The couple were moved to a more quiet room. Special mention - The chef made me a special dish. Overall, all promises were delivered and expectations met. No issue whatsoever from check-in to check-out. The front desk staff helped me buy local products at the last minute prior to leaving to airport in the hotel shuttle.

Review 76:Room had blonde hair laying everywhere. Softer bed would have been nicer.

Review 77:Would like to receive 2 room cards like every other hotels, don't believe you need to ask for an extra card

Review 78:AC can be noisy at night.

Review 79:Outstanding, nothing to complain about! Chivoan was extremely helpful and arranged everything to make our stay unforgettable.

Review 80:Location is a bit far away. Very noisy construction works starting early in the morning and which I wasn't aware of. Better to book tuk tuk rides by yourself and not via the hotel

Review 81:Swimming pool, buffet breakfast were amazing

Review 82:1. Lunch and Dinner menu is too brief, we need more choice of Asian and Western food. 2. The price of some drink and fruit juice is high, must be moderate to encourage and promote your guest to have them.

Review 83:1. Breakfast is excellent. 2. The pork chop for lunch is very good and nice. 3.

Review 84:Every staff is very friendly and always with a smile!!!! The breakfast is delicious. The pool is amazing. The best place to rest ourselves. The room is very clean and well-decorated. The green tuktuk waiting outside the hotel is better than those in downtown area. nice airport picking up service and is free. We enjoyed our stay!!!

Review 85:The cleaning could be better. There was a toy dino under the bath from previous guests, so the bathroom floor wasn't cleaned too well. Some minor fixing needed, for instance shower door wouldn't close properly anymore which flooded the bathroom floor. All in all minor stuff, but easily solved.

Review 86:It's a beautiful resort with super friendly staff. Sometimes to the point that it becomes embarrasing. Great breakfast, excellent. Nice rooms, good pool. Not far from pub street area, 7 mins by tuk tuk.

Review 87:Nothing

Review 88:The facilities are excellent, very well taken care off, nicely decorated and very clean. As no double bed were free in our booked category the reception upgraded us to superior room. The staff, specially mr. Hak from Front Office, has been always really kind and helpful going beyond their expected duty to make our stay perfect. No need to mention that all the staff speak very good English. Location is fine and hotel offers airport pick up and tuk tuk / taxi to city center are always available at all times for just $2. With no doubt we will repeat the hotel when travelling to Siam Reap again.

Review 89:Honestly do not have bad thing to say about our stay. Will definitely return.

Review 90:This was our second stay with Borei Angkor and we were just as pleased with the high level of quality and service the resort and the staff provided. The location is perfect for visiting the temples, night markets and the hotel can organise any of the other attractions out of the main city. We received complimentary champagne for our recent engagement and enjoyed the cocktails on offer from the lovely Sock-man. You must visit him when staying here. Signature cocktail is amazing. We must give a special mention to our driver/tour guide Srun To. His friendly and knowledgeable personality with his big smile made this trip extra special for my family and fiancé and we also made a new friend. Anyone travelling to Siem reap should stay at Borei Angkor and ask for Srun To (Chanta). He will take good care of you.

Review 91:Location is walking distance from city center. Near king palace and Angkor wat entrance road. Staffs are friendly and knowledgable. Facilities is 5 stars

Review 92:We love staying at this hotel. The staff are always on hand to help in any way they can, especially John. Everything about this hotel is first rate.

Review 93:Wifi was temperamental but they had a business suite where you could use the computers free of charge

Review 94:Incredible hotel and excellent value for money. The staff are so friendly and the decorations are stunning. Breakfast is a 10/10 wish we could have stayed longer!

Review 95:Our room faced onto a wall of a/c units, which were noisy and ugly.

Review 96:The staff were fantastic, location near to local market and the town centre, great place to relax.

Review 97:Entertainment wasn't very good! (Sorryyy)

Review 98:Really impressive value for money at around $53 a night. Lovely hotel. Been lucky enough to stop at some very expensive 5*s in recent years and though this wasn't quite as dramatically glamorous, the staff were amazing and the chilled vibes were ace. Breakfast great. One of my favorite hotels!

Review 99:Bed a bit too soft. Small territory.

Review 100:For the price you're paying hotel is great. Location is ok, we were going to old market and it costed us 2 usd one way. Going to temples car for whole day is better option. Room was nice, ok size. Very good breakfast. helpful staff. They changed our room to pool view.

Review 101:The wifi is generally slow in Cambodia and the hotel kicks you off of it's wifi connection every now and then. The rooms were really hot when we first arrived. Room service made sure that the AC was turned off after they cleaned our rooms so we ended up placing a "Do Not Disturb" sign to ensure that the AC would not be turned off so our room would be cool at the end of the day.

Review 102:Everything! Great value for your money. ! I totally recommend this resort to anyone. Staff was great and friendly, everyone was so genuine. Five star resort at a great price!

Review 103:Asked for a double room, got given a twin and had a dead fly come out of the bathroom faucet. Next day got moved to a double room on a floor with no lift service (so we had to use the stairs), then had to endure 2 hours of constant hammering outside our room (even after we notified staff twice). Needed a band-aid, but apparently 'they just ran out".

Review 104:Staff were attentive, easy to get transport. Got upgraded (even though it was twin room instead of the double we booked). Hotel was decorated traditionally which was nice and the breakfast was enjoyable.

Review 105:Nothing to says, because any problem can be resolved by their staff.

Review 106:The services level of the resort is absolutely 5 stars includes software and hardware, without a doubt, worth to stay with it.

Review 107:There is nothng to dislike about this establishment.

Review 108:Everything! The aesthetics of the entire resort are superb; the room was extremely comfortable; food to die for with a breakfast buffet that will blow your mind; the pool area is delightful and the staff make you wish you could take them home with you! The manager, Bona, delivered a level of service and professionalism rarely seen, even in the hospitaltiy industry. He is a notably gracious and humble man with an ability to make you smile, wider than you knew possible! Bona's leadership ability is evident amongst his staff, with John taking the most amazing care of us. Nothing is too much trouble, with every wish being granted and delivered with a smile!

Review 109:Our room was big and well designed. The bathroom was dated with mildew around the caulking area. However, there's construction and remodelling going on above our floor. Therefore, we are certain that all rooms will be fantastic soon.

Review 110:The breakfast bar was my favorites of all 6 hotels we stayed in this trip. The staff is very attentive and accommodating. It is quiet at night with soothing live music. The business centre is well-equipped with all Macs and printing capability. All in all, it is a great place for vacation and business.

Review 111:Ninguna mala experiencia, al revés... Por decir algo, los masajes son bastante caros....

Review 112:Muy amable y educado personal. Siempre te muestran una sonrisa y dispuestos a ayudarte...Muy bien,,espero que continúen asi.

Review 113:The walls were thin so the noise from outside the room was very annoying. Construction near by started very early around 5am.

Review 114:Very beautiful rooms, the staff was amazing, service was excellent, close to the markets

Review 115:We stayed here for 5 nights in June 2015. The staff were fantastic. They were very helpful, polite, friendly and always willing to help. When my son hurt his ankle they found a crutch for him to use within hours and with no expectation of any payment. The breakfast was excellent. My kids aged 11 and 8 loved the pool and the staff. A tuk tuk was always there ready to take us anywhere. We all loved Cambodia.

Review 116:The one and only negative of our stay occurred with online booking. I wish the hotel would be more clear about additional charges when booking a deluxe twin room for a family of 4. Apparently the maximum occupancy for this type of room is 2 individuals so we called the hotel for guidance. Their advice was to book a second room for our two children. We did not take that silly advice. When we showed up at the hotel, we were simply charged an additional fee for each child. Given the excellent accommodations, the additional fee was quite reasonable.

Review 117:Beautiful, beautiful hotel with an amazingly helpful and friendly staff. We will definitely be back and will be recommending Borei Angkor to all our friends.

Review 118:It's a good value for money but when it comes to charges for a coffee or beer in their bar is super expensive ! So I would suggest to drink and eat out.

Review 119:It's an amazing place! It looks like a palace:) I felt like a Cambodian princess being there:) The staff is amazingly friendly and rooms look like from a dream.

Review 120:Building work going on so very noisy. They should really close the hotel in the very rainy season to domtheworkasit is a major project

Review 121:Very friendly staff

Review 122:Having to leave

Review 123:Customer service, very friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble, easy to get a $2 took took from the hotel into the old market area. Lovely pool area with comfortable loungers and plenty of umbrellas, modern rooms furnished in Khmer style. Wide range of breakfast options available.

Review 124:A little way out of town but still, only a $2 Tuk Tuk ride.

Review 125:The service from all staff was wonderful, especially our host, Sorn Chivoan. Our large room was upgraded and included a comfortable bath and shower and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was comprehensive and included both local and western foods and the pool area was very relaxing.

Review 126:Borei Angkor Resort is a wonderful place to stop and relax in Siem Reap. Comfortable rooms, spacious pool, beautiful ambience and very friendly staff. Would stay here again.

Review 127:the tour guide service is more expensive than other hotel and agency, and not happy with my tour guide. But hotel gave a good solution.

Review 128:The staff is very helpful, they even upgrade my booking for free

Review 129:Dinner at restaurant was over price for what you get. The meat we ordered were tasty but very tough. Must say the service from the staff at the restaurant were excellent.

Review 130:Wonderful friendly and helpful staff. Room with comfortable bed and good amenities. Love the nice big pool. Great breakfast. Excellent value for money.

Review 131:All the staffs were amazing. Especially Ms. Nimol who assisted us were exceptionally kind and courteous. The facilities were excellent. Good experience.
