Review 53：We asked the receptionist about a good place to eat, but he couldn't recommend one restaurant just directed us to where the restaurants are which was a bit unhelpful as we have had good recommendations in the past from other nh hotels (and others) that we have stayed in.

Review 54：We up graded to a suite (room 502) which had a fabulous terrace overlooking the port and was very spacious. We did have a problem with a very loud music event on the port which went on until 4 am! but the morning receptionist asked if we had been affected by the music which we had, they didn't charge for the up grade or the parking. He did explain this is not a regular event and they hadn't been told about it so couldn't let guests know on arrival. (I put this on the wrong review originally it wil also be on the Mont Triana in Seville!)

Review 57：I had asked for a room overlooking the port together with a separate shower. I received no response and was very annoyed when we checked in that this request had been ignored. They basically told me that special requests are always ignored ! I was then told that for an additional 20 euros per night I could have a room as requested.. Nuts and monkeys came to mind, but I didn't know the Spanish for such an insult ! Pity ! We stayed in the original room with it's pathetic shower which wasn't obvious until later in the day !

I am a real foody and this was the best food I have eaten in quite a while and i dine a lot in France - this was truly magnificent. Review 72：We came back to our room on the Sunday afternoon about 3pm to shower as the parade was due to start at about 5.30, the room had not been cleaned or made up, again, the receptionist was very helpful and offered us coffee whilst the housekeeping cleaned our room. we were told when the room was ready and went up. Yes the bed was made and the water was replaced but, despite leaving the empty bottles the shower gel and shampoo were not replaces (the brochure states 'we provide bath products') Tea/coffee also were not replenished, this I have to say let the hotel down.

Review 73：The location was really very good, close to the harbour, shopping etc. Tea facilities were provided. We spoke to a fantastic young male evening receptionist called 'Angel' on both nights we were there, his history of Cartagena, local knowledge and English was amazing and very informative, he would get all my points and because he was so attentive and helpful, but not intrusive, we will certainly return as we live only 1 hour away. We had a superior room so had a balcony/terrace which was spacious and fairly private. The room was very clean on arrival, but let us down the second day.

The room was clean, well insulated from outside noise and the chap on reception (sorry I don't know your name) was very helpful and friendly. We were travelling with friends (another couple) and he helped make our visit to Cartegena a very pleasant one. All staff were friendly and polite, breakfast was very good, fresh, plenty of variety and as much as you wanted. I would definitely recommend this hotel

Review 99：If you use the garage to park your car then take a small one. However, there is nothing they can do to make the car park any bigger or easier to use as it is under the hotel and uses a car elevator. Breakfast was a little hit and miss.

The night life begins behind the hotel with plenty of shops and Tapas Bars. Plenty of history and architecture to enjoy all within walking distance.

Had its own parking, but suggest you don't take a large car in the parking lift, all sensors were screaming on ours. Just inches to spare. Also parking is tight when you get down, and some fool, had parked half in the drive out of the lift. Much manoeuvring to get around. This is not a complaint about the hotel. Just a warning for weary travellers.

Review 115：Big step to the balcony. If you have any walking issues this could be dangerous. I was ok but my wife with a knee replacement found the step over a foot deep hard to get down back in to the room. It would be easy for them to make a smaller step leading up. Bathroom needed a bit better clean and bath needed a reselling.

Highly recommendable!
