Reviews for Johanniter Gästehaus
Review 1:I confirm it seems a clinic (Hospital) Staff not really flexible, no much English around. Heaters not working all the time(room cold during the night)
Review 2:Clean for sure
Review 3:Sunday arrived .everything closed.nothing to eat. Neither on foot distance. Garage very confusing to find and the room too many different buildings.
Review 4:good breakfast.clean room.
Review 5:The room smelled after cigarettes although declared as non-smoking room, doors lockers hard to open
Review 6:Atmosphere / like in school campus :), parking, quiet location, bed
Review 7:Nothing!
Review 8:Goo, solid place to stay... We were there for one night, but you could definitely do a few days. Breakfast was great and staff are friendly. Parking on site at no extra charge and wifi was great.
Review 9:A long way from city center (30 mins walk), although there is a busstop next to the hotel.
Review 10:Very good breakfast. Very clean, albeit basic rooms. Free garage parking.
Review 11:Nothing
Review 12:I was pleasantly surprised by this training-hotel. It is very well kept and professionally run. There are plenty of dining options within walking distance and the free and convenient parking was a bonus to explore Münsterland.
Review 13:Advertise cable tv but not clear only German channels. High noise level at night and early hours due to students drinking and smoking outside very echoing as the set up is squared. WiFi down in the area for 3 days of the stay not hotel but area issue. No drink making facilities
Review 14:Location to town and sights
Review 15:Its not really a hotel as its part of a training academy so more like a college campus, we didn't try the restaurant as it was closed upon late arrival, but I felt like I was back at school a bit.. not bad just a bit strange
Review 16:Nice friendly staff and very clean, safe parking and local to most amenities
Review 17:Not very central but easily accessible by car
Review 18:Breakfast is very nice, room and bathroom are very clean. Free parking garage. Helpful receptionist. Silent neighbourhood
Review 19:-No double beds, only twins -Not very central, long way to bars, restaurants etc -Breakfast very "cantina"-like
Review 20:-Very nice and clean bathrooms with shower, large rooms -Silent neighbourhood and rooms -Free parking garage -Free wifi with good download speed
Review 21:The location wasn't the greatest but I guess it depends on what you do in Munster.
Review 22:We were traveling with our 20 year old son and the room was very spacious. It was also clean! The breakfast was very good too!
Review 23:Second time we stay here and it was just as good . There is an excellent Italian around the corner and a great cafe ext to the hotel. A bit outside the centre but great for an over night stop on the way to the UK and near the motor way. Soooo clean and comfortable
Review 24:the bed was on the top part . no box spring. not comfortable. the staff tried but English skills could be enhanced. bus ride ten minutes to town. buses don't run after 825pm on weekdays.
Review 25:the breakfast.
Review 26:Nothing to complain about.
Review 27:Easily accessible by road and free parking. A little bit far from centre (approx 15 min walk). Rooms are well furnished, very functional.
Review 28:Confusing entrance to hotel/guest-house. Had to park away from main entrance (since it's blocked by barriers) and there was no proper signs to show where to check-in. Luckily, the receptionist was throwing trash at the time and we managed to ask him for directions.
Review 29:Hotel/guest-house is very clean (even smelled clean). At first glance, it looked like a hospital. Our double room was spacious and comfortable. It has a well-stocked reasonable price mini-bar with German beers (good for us as the hotel is not in town & all nearby eateries closed at the time). Underground parking connected to the buildings. Helpful and friendly staffs. Good sufficient buffet breakfast in cafeteria-like dining hall.
Review 30:We came for a second time and were again very pleased with the facilities : simple but very good. Spacious and clean room and bathroom, good bedding and very nice breakfast (included in the price). Also easy and secure for parking (private underground) included in the price. This will remain our favourite stop over for Münster.
Review 31:Hard to find, wasn't sure if it was a hospital or a hotel at first! Seems a bit odd on first appearance. Basic but very good facilities. functional but nice.
Review 32:Free secure parking, very clean, quiet, friendly staff, excellent free WiFi, overal. Excellent value for money, but a bit functional.
Review 33:Far from down town and the bus is 2,70€ Wifi is not proposed at reception. The building is big and confusing.
Review 34:The room is cozy and the shower is amazing. Breakfast is ok.
Review 35:We're still not entirely sure what the place is! There were references to an old peoples' home, further education provision in healthcare and ambulance training. Very bizarre!
Review 36:The beds were comfortable, free secure car parking, breakfast was varied and plentiful, the rooms were clean and the Housekeeping staff were super efficient. Also most staff spoke English which was a great help for us with our modest German vocabulary.
Review 37:Some have said the location is a bit out of town and that is right with Johanniter being south of the city centre in an area called Geist. However, there is a regular bus service (number 2) running from the Hauptbahnhof and you want to get off at Heilig Geist Kirche bus stop. There's also a nightbus N81 so I had no issues getting to and from the town centre. There's even an app you can download to your smartphone called 'Fahrplan MS' which gives you live bus information.
Review 38:Johanniter is akin to St. John's Ambulance in the UK and this site is one of their main training sites for this region of Germany. As such this is not your general Hotel accommodation as the site is split over 3 blocks. I found the reception staff very friendly. My room was on the second floor of Haus 2-there is a lift or flight of stairs. As I was traveling solo I had a single bed-the room was adequate and very clean with a TV, table, desk and min-bar plus en-suite bathroom. I had breakfast included which is in a large canteen and is help yourself-the usual continental style with cold meats, cheese and amazing bread rolls. Scrambled eggs, boiled eggs and bacon was also available. Fruit juice and coffee (which was proper filter coffee) complemented the excellent breakfast options. For my needs Johanniter did the trick! I didn't try wi-fi as I could get good 4g in my room.
Review 39:Quiet location not very far from the city centre. Friendly and helpfull personnel. Clean rooms. Spacious and free of charge parking. Good breakfast. Safety of the facilities.
Review 40:Location.It is about 30 minutes from railway station or center by foot. 10 minutes walk to nearest bus stop.
Review 41:Big and clean room/bathroom Varied breakfast
Review 42:you get a feeling to arrived in a hospital or nursery. Not really a hotel. WiFi is to complicated. stairways smells like a hospital. No tea and coffee facilities in the rooms.
Review 43:the staff was very friendly and helpful. nearly all what you need is there.
Review 44:WiFi at my building was hanging up every 2 days and the router had to be rebooted. My room had windows toward some constructions site, which made noise in the morning. Windows were sound proof but did not block everything. I also did not see any controls in the room for the air-conditioning, so I do not know if it is present. A bit distant from downtown, but with a bus line nearby.
Review 45:Very nice hotel composed of several building. Friendly staff. Clean. Great accessibility for handicapped. Very good breakfast with many choices. Underground garage with many places to park a car. Secure. Many places to eat and drink nearby.
Review 46:It was very hot, so an air con system would have been nice, but the window was kept open, so it was OK. A water boiler in the room would have been great for those that drink hot beverages before sleeping. The internet connection in the rooms is poor, however going out in the hallway near the router (2 on each floor), that problem was solved.
Review 47:This hotel had what I needed: Underground parking away from the sun (and this time the super heavy rain that flooded Munster). Very clean room, small fridge, elevator to the room, food shop around the corner and a small balcony and a window that could be kept open. Great and helpful staff. Late check-out time (11 AM). And really, really quiet nighttime.
Review 48:nothing
Review 49:It is like a campus, but very clean and the best breakfast we had out of 10 days(and I like my breakfasts). Nice underground bar where we watched Germany play USA, I should not have worn my redneck tshirt, but everyone was friendly
Review 50:a very "interesting" hotel which is at the same time some kind of central point for the Johanniter services in Munster, it's quite atypical... but past the surprise of the location, its a very clean place, well taken care of, decent room for the price and very friendly personal. I recommend
Review 51:Big beds, big breakfast. And very very kind peoole working there. We will be back some day!
Review 52:Lovely, clean, spacious room. Helpful receptionist. Given city map on arrival. Good location.
Review 53:Breakfast is nice. The room is clean.
Review 54:Breakfast very good value
Review 55:Brekfast excellent
Review 56:Sound insulation. Heard people in other rooms.
Review 57:At the reception at a great official of Nepal, very helpful and friendly
Review 58:Access to room made difficult by series of looked doors, long passage ways, tunnels and stairways.
Review 59:Clean, very secure, free parking, near city centre
Review 60:The overall cleanliness of the whole house The rich breakfast buffet The great value-for-money-rate
Review 61:Helpful staff, convenient location and free parking facilities
Review 62:Nothing to complain at all!
Review 63:EVERYTHING was just fine! Excellent value for the price.
Review 64:Clean and tidy, modern facilities, handy for autobahn
Review 65:loud talking during the night
Review 66:nice staff
Review 67:Underground parking free Wi-Fi free Excellent breakfast Comfortable room As always in Germany-clean Similar to Premier inn style
Review 68:À bit slow action at the reception
Review 69:Poor WiFi
Review 70:Underground garage Security Standard of accommodation Breakfast Location
Review 71:It is a bit far away from the center I find it a bit expensive for what you get. You pay quite some money and you have the impression to stay at a hospital.
Review 72:It is very clean and tidy place The breakfast is OK People at reception are always kind and helpful Free parking Free Wifi
Review 73:I only wanted the room to be a little warmer. Except from that, absolutely nothing else.
Review 74:The room was very very clean. It is just outside from the center and quiet. The breakfast was good with variety. super price I definitly recommend it.
Review 75:I would have preferred if there had been a restaurant within the Gastehaus in order to have an evening meal.
Review 76:The whole ambiance of the Johanniter Gastehaus was excellent, including the underground parking facilities.
Review 77:Loved it all - as good as it gets, especially for the price - 3 adults in triple room, 2 nights, including breakfast and free parking for €222.
Review 78:The accommodation was excellent and way way above the quality of many establishments far more expensive. If you don't mind, or need to be in or near the centre of Munster, it's about a 25 minute walk away - this place is a little gem. With free underground parking. Room ( including bathroom )was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was plentiful and very fresh, another reason for booking this place. It may not be a sort of traditional hotel that we all expect, but if you are spending time in Munster, or the local area you won't find a better, quieter, cleaner and excellent value for money establishment than this.
Review 79:The breakfast could have been better
Review 80:Very clean, neat, modern room, very helpful staff, reasonable internet connection, good value for money, free parking garage, good location
Review 81:It is situated at the periphery of the town, but public transportation is at the front door.
Review 82:Everything; it provided all the facilities of a modern hotel twice its price class. You don't feel being in a budget facility. Rooms and breakfast were amazing. Underground parking was free.
Review 83:we stayed one night on a professional trip in Munster. All the persons of the staff are very polite. The room was big, very clean. The breakfast was very good. I strogly recommend to choose this hotel for professional and families.
Review 84:Bell's of nearby church started ringing at 7 a.m. :-S
Review 85:Spacious and clean room. Fantastic breakfast with wide variety of highquality products. Free wifi and underground parking. City centre is easy to reach by car or public transport. There is a busstop in front of the hotel. Very good price-quality.
Review 86:Nothing.
Review 87:It is an ingenious idea to let out rooms in this training facility which normally provides rooms for the participants of Johanniter seminars and courses. This is a bit like the red cross, training nurses and care personnel. The rooms are functional, bright and very clean and provide everything you need for a good night´s sleep. The breakfast does what is is supposed to, there is the hot option of scrambled eggs and bacon, nice coffee from a brand new machine, mueslis and fresh fruit. The Wi-Fi is fast.
Review 88:There was nothing not to like.
Review 89:Everything, the food, the hotel, very clean excellent facilities, it was a very emotional trip as was visiting places had not been to since a child.
Review 90:The room and hotel were very clean and breakfast is included and very good, many different things to choose from. Our 3 and 5 year old's stayed for free and there was an extra bed.
Review 91:This is the Guest House – IT IS NOT THE HOTEL – it is more looks like to student’s dormitory. Do not think it is the luxury hotel – IT IS NOT. I did not liked the breakfast system – I felt like I am in canteen.
Review 92:The person at the reception. He was polite and helpful.
Review 93:a bit far from the city to walk, it could offer a french bed instead of 2 single beds with a gap in the middle
Review 94:Superior excellent breakfast menu with EVERYTHING, spacy, clean and convenient rooms, excellent parking
Review 95:We will come again . Thank you..
Review 96:Propreté Taille chambre Situation calme

Review 115:Friendly staff Clean room Delicious breakfast
Review 116:Bit of a bizarre hotel, felt like a school or a hospital not a hotel.
