Review 1：Quite a few stairs to climb, but the staff were more than happy to help. The hotel is also a bit tired and for the price, was not as nice as other hotels we stayed in during our trip to northern Spain.

Review 3：Unfortunately it was located close to the only noisy bar in town, and we were kept awake with shouting revellers until 4am. Perhaps this is just in August but spoilt our stay.

Review 8：I wouldn't say I didn't like anything there, but the stairs were gloriously dusty - one of its charms. Our room and bathroom were spotless despite the slightly faded fabrics - again another charm.
Review 9：It is central so you flow out of the Esmeralda and into the old and very beautiful town of Comillas and it is.=, therefore, so easy to get back to. We were lucky to have a spacious room at the front with French windows and a little balcony. The staff were extremely helpful and kind. I grew very fond of the Esmeralda and would certainly go back there again.
Review 10：Breakfast- Very poor. Despite being free (with the room), it's not really worth your time, plenty of places for breakfast elsewhere.
Review 11：location - 2 minute walk to central plaza with plenty of restaurants, a little further to the beach I would say- easy walk for an afternoon meal etc. Staff- Family run - the older brother spoke excellent English and was very helpful. the younger brother on morning duty spoke no English - and I got the impression that he wasn't particularly helpful either- nice manner though! Room- We had a big room, with two windows and a large bathroom As a stopover I would certainly stay again!
