Reviews for Hotel am Schloßberg

Review 1:The price is excessively high for the room one gets: considerably small, the bathroom a little old... but nonetheless everything was very clean, so considering the awesome breakfast in overall even if overpriced it's ok.

Review 2:The buffet breakfast is absolutely incredible, they have a lot of options of everything: cheese, meat, jams, etc., they even have a selection of organic teas!!! The hotel is very nice and Erding is a peaceful town; the location is ok, especially considering that the S-Bahn station is a few hundred meters away and it's connected with Munich.

Review 3:A little expensive at least for the Octoberfest days.

Review 4:Everything runned smoothly. Reservations, internet, cleaning, breakfast. No problem at all. The railway station is 5 minutes on foot.

Review 5:The staff was helpful but a bit distant

Review 6:Great place to stay if you are flying out of the Munich airport. We were coming off a two week trip and just needed a place to regroup before the flight and this place was located perfectly for that

Review 7:The only negative was a rather poor experience at the restaurant attached to the hotel. They only had menus in German and the wait staff was rather indignant that we were asking for help translating.

Review 8:The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location, for our flight from Munich Airport was very convenient. After several days in larger cities the quiet of this fairly rural setting was welcome. There were several excellent restaurant choices in nearby Erding.

Review 9:No night reception and lift is switched off during the night.

Review 10:Nice décor, clean, very nice and comfortable room with good free on site parking located in nice rural area.

Review 11:the stay was okay, I have reserved for 4 days and i had decided to reduce my stay to be 3 instead of 4, however the hotel refused to reduce my stay and made me pay for the full stay, even thorough i have informed me of this change on my first day. On my departure day, i have left my room at 4:00am to catch my 7:00am flight. the power for the elevator was off, all the lights were off, i took the emergency stairs, all the doors were locked. i had to use the very fare emergency back door to exit the building and i could not to the reception to hand my key, i have later on the same day, i have tried to call to inform them of my departure and no one answered my over 10 calls and every time it sends me to voice mail speaking only german. the hotel for sure if after making money in anyway and not caring about the customer or customer satisfaction. very bad experience. I dont recommend this hotel to anyone I will make sure that twitter and media cover this intensely

Review 12:the breakfast food was good

Review 13:Sorry, This is not a 4 * hotel in my opinion. We've stayed in 2 other hotels on our trip in Germany that were brilliant. So a big disappointment. Needed a good nights sleep for a long ride the next day. Our room were too hot and the bed for my son was too short. Not very rested the next day. Got a 20 EUR discount as I complained. I would have paid double for a good nights sleep :-). Will not recommend this hotel.

Review 14:Breakfast

Review 15:internet in the room is slow and patchy

Review 16:good overall, value for money, good location only if you have a car. Good breakfast, but we have had better in Bavaria.

Review 17:(Family) room was excellent, only 3 years old and totally up to date. Only the kids bed was a little hard but the master bed was perfect. Room was pretty warm so I think with a really warm day that an airco would ve nice.

Review 18:Perfect room with good facilities and good breakfast

Review 19:No resturant in the hotel, only for the break fast. No Air Condition Other than that every thing is perfect Erding is piece from heaven people are very nice and helpful

Review 20:Only one negative, we stopped at the desk to sign up for,the shuttle to leave the next morning. When they discovered we needed to leave at 0430 to get to the airport on time they called & helped us arrange a taxi. When we got up the next morning we found the elevator locked down as well as the reception area. We had no idea there was no one there after 2300 - 0600 & neither of the staff that helped us set up the taxi said anything about going ahead & paying our bill or a warning we would have to carry our bags down stairs & out the side doors. Thankfully we started a little earlier than we planned.

Review 21:The Am Schloßberg is a lovely hotel with that country Inn appeal. The fact that it has a spa available is an added bonus. The housekeeping staff keeps everything shiny & clean & the kitchen staff provides a breakfast buffet that is superb & diverse. The reception desk staff were the busiest people I have ever seen in a hotel they worked tirelessly and were there 10 to 15 hrs a day. Aside from their desk duties we noted they also worked the bar attached to the desk & did trouble shooting for the laundry room. Kudos to a hardworking group!

Review 22:On my last day there I had to go and the ask receptionist for a bar of soap because the cleaner didn't bother to put one. Also the receptionist wasn't very welcoming when I asked her for the soap and didn't smile but no smiles is normal in Germany so get used to it.

Review 23:The room was nice.

Review 24:The lift to the 2nd floor, and the hotel has 3 floors and steep stairs. Lift off in front of 22, and further have to walk up the stairs. No service at the reception after 23. Lack of parking spaces, the customer must look for himself a place to park. The rooms on the 3rd floor in need of updating.

Review 25:Very good Italian restaurant next to the hotel, but the restaurant does not belong to the hotel.

Review 26:No flexibility on checkout time on the Sunday (12 noon). No restaurant or room service facilities other than the breakfast buffet.

Review 27:It was relatively close to Therme Erding where we spent the weekend (€12 by taxi) so convenient enough. The breakfast spread was good too.

Review 28:To relax after business meetings, this is the perfect location. Very skilled and friendly staff and the family athmosphere is making people stay with a smile.

Review 29:It was a very pleasant stay. The staff was very kind and helpful. The room was big and cosy with very comfortable bed. The breakfast was rich. The italian restaurant in the building was very good also. Everything was great. Thank you!

Review 30:Be careful if you get a bus to Erding from the airport, which I did. This hotel is really Aufhausen (also nearest S-Bahn) Probably easier to go further into Munich from the airport and get the S-Bahn out again rather than the bus.

Review 31:Country location. Handy for the S-Bahn. Some local shops. Hotel is fairly quiet on a country road.

Review 32:I booked this Hotel because off the Shuttle Service from the Airport. On this site I gave my flight number etc. When I checked just before arrival I understood there was no Shuttle Service available. I was told bluntly to take a taxi !

Review 33:The comfort off the Room and Breakfast in the morning was good

Review 34:Wellness center closed early and was not open on Sunday.

Review 35:Close to airport and Erding Therme Breakfeast offering was good. Small room, but everything was there. Access to Internet was good.

Review 36:Without a car, it was 45 minutes frim Munich by train

Review 37:The breakfast Buffett was the best I had in Germany and a wide selection of wonderful teas, breads, meats, cheese......the best! Wry close to the Therme Spa!

Review 38:- robotic, seemingly uninterested staff - regular room size could be bigger - no pet policy - silly light switch in the room, motion activated "on"and on a timer "off". Can't switch off when needed!

Review 39:+location perfect (with car) +good german standard of building +cozy yet classy architecture and design +fantastic breakfast

Review 40:Firstly, this hotel is a 40euro taxi ride from the Airport. Then, reception closes at 23:00 after which everything is in virtual lock-down. I could not get WiFi to work and there was no one to assist before morning. The hotel staff were not particularly appreciative of anyone on business travel.

Review 41:It is a 40 minutes to.get to Munich by train

Review 42:The breakfast was excellent! The room was really beautiful We went to Munich by train, it took us 40 minutes 20minutes from the airport

Review 43:A little hard to find at night. Only one restaurant in the area.

Review 44:very quiet. not far from Munich airport by car but far removed in feel. good for recovering from long flight.

Review 45:Price way too much for the hotel plus no A/c , no English channels on T.v only german .

Review 46:We had a Room facing the main Road It was very hot and because of the traffic noise we could not open the window until late at night. We have stayed there before and it was always nice .Make sure not to take a room facing the road.

Review 47:5-star hotel feeling; 3 star pricing. 5 min. walking distance s-bahn to Munich

Review 48:great breakfast, friendly staff, loved the billard

Review 49:very clean and big room.

Review 50:No market in the vicinity

Review 51:Clean & calm

Review 52:The excellent breakfast

Review 53:Misleading information at hotel on various services ( shuttles ). Internet service was horrible.

Review 54:Very clean

Review 55:Awesome location right next to the S-Bahn. Very comfortable, clean and spacious.

Review 56:lack of cooling [ac ; fans] on very hot days 'kitchenette' extremely limited

Review 57:room size; wifi

Review 58:The rooms are not air conditioned and its on a very busy road so you can't open the windows

Review 59:Best breakfast ever

Review 60:Location, some of the staff not helpful Hot, very noisy, no a/c

Review 61:nada

Review 62:Nice breakfast. Lift. Nice staff. Parking lot. Clean. Spacious room.

Review 63:The Best breakfast and bed ever!

Review 64:The ladies that catered to the amazing breakfast were superb!

Review 65:This hotel always is great! Perfect breatkfast and very nice rooms. Even a small welness area.

Review 66:Simple but tasty Italian restaurant next door; outstanding breakfast buffet

Review 67:Great sauna and fantastic breakfast, our family room was incredibly large and very, very comfortable. Great value for our money!

Review 68:Congested breakfast area

Review 69:Room, Breakfast, Parking

Review 70:very good breakfast buffet

Review 71:I couldn't close windows well. Therefore it was quite loudy because of traffic.

Review 72:Breakfast was great. Sauna is large and clean.

Review 73:Paid price

Review 74:Breakfast Room

Review 75:Check out time 11.30 for Sunday was too early :).

Review 76:Everything was fine. Location close to train station. Clean. Nice staff.

Review 77:nothing, all good

Review 78:the atmosphere, cleanliness

Review 79:Excellent facilities. The room was large and very clean. The adjacent restaurant was very good and breakfast in the morning was superb!

Review 80:price increase compared to last year

Review 81:Rooms are a little dated.

Review 82:Wonderful breakfast.

Review 83:Sauna has limited timings

Review 84:Location, lovely, cozy hotel - well connected to the supermarket and by rail to Munich, lovely breakfast and Staff

Review 85:Extreme difficulty in getting into the hotel due to a late arrival

Review 86:Very old building. Noisy due to reparation. Location is bad. Inconvenient. Staff were not friendly.

Review 87:Gorgeous atmosphere.

Review 88:I would say there wasnt anything i didn't like, however, a suggestion would be, as it was quite hot perhaps a fan in the rooms.. maybe ceiling fans..

Review 89:The staff, the breakfast, the room.. the location.. the restaurant..

Review 90:A little bit too far out to be a base for Munich travel, but good location if you want to visit the Therme or have business in area. Washroom is convenient, but with full manual machines, instructions in english would be handy. Also, the drier seemed to be kaput

Review 91:Very comfortable, large rooms, quality furnishings throughout. Excellent huge and well equipped sauna/spa area. Fantastic breakfast. Very good and reasonably priced Italian restaurant next door. 5 min walk to Sbahn. Free wifi. Nice bar area. Very helpful staff, most of who speak reasonable english

Review 92:There's no easy access to the airport. Only way is by taxi which cost about 38 euros. You can take train and bus to get to the airport if you want to spend good 2 hours of your precious time. And no restaurant close by so you have to go to the grocery store near by for dinner.

Review 93:Very clean, great price. Good breakfast. Close to local stores.

Review 94:There was an old watch in the drawer next to the bed making noise during the whole night, impossible to turn off.

Review 95:Very clean, big room, very varied breakfast. I would definitely choose it again.

Review 96:It was our second stay in this very good hotel, close to the Erding Therme. Great big rooms, amazing breakfast, and the staff were very nice and helpful. It is our place to go whenever we visit the Therme.

Review 97:Nothing

Review 98:We have stayed a few times before. Always friendly, good clean hotel with an excellent breakfast and just 15 mins drive to Munich airport. We will be staying there again later this year.

Review 99:Beautiful big rooms, very clean.the stuff is helpful and polite.the breakfast is included into the room price and it's really rich. So it wasn't our first time there and definitely we'll come back again to this hotel

Review 100:If someone asks a guest if everything was ok, he/she should listen to the asnwer. Customer service is still an area to work on in Germany.

Review 101:Breakfast service was excellent, very friendly and attentive staff.

Review 102:There’s a garage of unknown quality available at 5€ a day and there are a fair number of outdoor parking spots available but all these are awkward to use. First, the parking spots in front of the hotel are inviting nose-in spots but the rear of your car will be only 2m off of a busy highway. And you will have to back out onto a road that has a curve immediately north of the hotel and a small hill immediately south, so that backing out will be dangerous most of the time. And from these spots you must carry your baggage up several steps to reach the entry door, where there is a ledge that is a bit difficult to roll a suitcase over. If you park at the side of the hotel, there is level entrance to the hotel but there is no room for turning your car around, so you again will be backing out unless you arrived early the day before and were able to use empty parking spots to turn around the car and park with its nose pointing outward for an easy exit in the morning. And note that there is a nearby suburban rail station but it will be a bit of a walk despite the hotel’s claims to the contrary. Also, be careful not to be dumped into one of the rooms in the annex behind the main building unless the weather’s warm or you like to wear a coat en route to breakfast. The reception staff, some of which are pompous, may try to tell you nothing handier is available but this will be not necessarily true and so you should not give in easily. My guestroom needed a luggage rack and there certainly was enough room for one.

Review 103:Attractive, large guestrooms that have very comfortable beds with down-filled bed covers. The hotel is quiet and double glazing means that even rooms facing the highway less than 10m away are quiet at night. The breakfast is a very good buffet even by the high breakfast standards of Germany.

Review 104:WiFi is overall very poor. (only one device per room is allowed, the speed is low, the coverage across the hotel is not good, the connection keeps dropping all the time)

Review 105:Perfectly clean rooms, excellent breakfast, great restaurant next door.

Review 106:Unfortunately the wireless infrastructure is very bad. When the hotel is well booked you cannot even get a connection or if you get it, it is extremely slow.

Review 107:the bed - small and quality was pretty bad: we got a "double" bed made by two beds next to each other, but which had different heights; also the mattress quality was no so good; this is the second time when we stay at this hotel and we were dissapointed since the first we were very happy with the room we got then.

Review 108:parking space available, very good pizzeria next to the hotel, good quality of breakfast, very quick check in and check out

Review 109:Nothing to report from my visit.

Review 110:A lovely hotel with very friendly staff and small sauna for use by guests. If you have your own transport it is ideal for the airport (15 mins), the town and Erding Therme, (2 mins) The breakfast is excellent. My room was on the first floor facing the main road and was not a problem in winter.

Review 111:Th upper floor in the main building is not commtable becouse the roof is too low.

Review 112:The hotel is very good, clean and comfteabel, the breakfast are very rich. the sauna is nice.

Review 113:Spacious comfortable clean room and bathroom with convenient kitchenette. Very good buffet-breakfast. Car parking and sauna included in room rate. Close to S-bahn station Aufhausen, for convenient public-transport to Munich or to Erding. Spa complex outside Erding, quite close and easy to get to by car.

Review 114:Difficult to cross the street during the day to get to the extra car park.

Review 115:I chose the hotel due to close proximity to the company I was visiting. I was warmly welcomed when I arrived late at night. Room was adequated to my needs and in good order. I would certainly stay there again.

Review 116:Liked the location. It worked very well for us. We stayed there when we arrived at Munich Airport and left for Salzburg in the morning and we also stayed there the night before departure. It an easy drive into Munich city - 30/40 minutes. Very good breakfast in a very pleasant environment.

Review 117:you need a car to get to the city - but we were aware about this when we read the hotel description

Review 118:the rooms are spacey, the staff is verry attentive and helpful, many options at breakfast, the italian restaurant in the hotel, parking spaces

Review 119:A bit far from the city center of Munich as one must take a tram that is about a 45 minute ride and pricey as it crosses 4 zones. The closest grocery store is about 25 minutes walking distance. There were cobwebs on the corners if doors so more attention to detail is needed but close to 4 star.

Review 120:The hotel staff were very friendly. The breakfast was great with many options including hot items and fresh fruit. There was a sauna available for use. The room was spacious with free toiletries. The Wifi signal was excellent in the room. The bed was comfortable.

Review 121:The ladies at the reception desk were robot-like, mechanical, and unwelcoming....Need to be replaced by some young, smiling males or females.....The restaurant, leased to Italians, has a limited Italian menu...Needs German gourmet as well...

Review 122:A beautiful facility...Copious breakfast buffet...Large, spacious rooms with a kitchenette and fridge!! A real first-class inn...
