Reviews for Hotel de Londres y de Inglaterra
Review 1:I was charged 26€ for breakfast per day as I sent a request for breakfast through the booking.com site. It would have cost only 20€ if I had asked for breakfast at the check-in at the hotel. Tea making facilities in the room would be nice to have
Review 2:I was given a free upgrade to a room with the window facing the Guggenheim museum. Any guest can enjoy the roof-top view over the museum from the terrace where they serve breakfast. There is a gym and a sauna on the roof with the view over the museum - a tickling experience at night time. The hotel stands close to the Fine Arts museum and is approximately 25-30 minutes walk from the Old Town
Review 3:Our room did not look anything like the rooms represented in images on their website. Felt I was in the attic and it was just OK... When I booked I requested a city bite or plaza view / I got a view of the buildings ... Photos on the website, very misleading but the location is brilliant. WiFi very, very slow and basically useless
Review 4:Location
Review 5:Location was the best in town. Staff were unfailingly helpful with advice and assistance. The property has magnificent views over the bay and is an easy walk to the action in old town.
Review 6:The hotel send an email informing guests of the upcoming Marathon on Sunday Nov 29th so that they could plan ahead for traffic related issues. This was much appreciated.
Review 7:I feel that today that Hotels, especially of this quality should have tea and coffee making facilities in all rooms! We ate in the hotel on one of the nights. Food lovely but never had steak so tough!
Review 8:Lovely Hotel in a great spot. Friendly helpful staff.
Review 9:The location was incredible, the hotel was outstanding and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. There is no doubt that on any return visit to San Sebastian we would stay there again.

Review 11:Pillows were too hard, room was nice.
Review 12:We loved the location, very convenient to the whole city and right on the beach. Beautiful location. People in the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Westley was great.
Review 13:The beds were too hard for our liking.
Review 14:What a view! The view alone was worth the price. The room was well appointed and had a very large bathroom. We also ate at the restaurant for lunch and had the "menu del Día"....it was excellent! Concierge was very helpful in recommending other restaurant options.
Review 15:Clean spacious beautiful room with a fantastic view of Concha Bay. Lovely bar for cocktails. Great tapas nearby. Great shopping too Just a great town too.
Review 16:The staff on front desk were not welcoming. No offer of help with luggage.. No information about facilities at the hotel .. Did not ask if we had ever stayed there before . Rushed us off with a wave of hand that lift was over there. Paid good money .. They should be more welcoming and helpful towards travellers
Review 17:Loved the view. Position perfect to walk to restaurants etc
Review 18:Table wait staff in the bar on Saturday evening were not up to the task. As a solo client in a crowded bar I can understand that service takes time, but I waited 30 minutes at a table to be acknowledged and another 10 to be served a glass of wine. Food took 15 minutes more.
Review 19:Extremely comfortable room, excellent bed and bedding. Ideal location. Reception and housekeeping staff could not be more accommodating.
Review 20:We ordered a bottle of cava at the bar that we didn't finish, and asked the barman to keep it for us, but it got 'lost'. Also ordered continental breakfast by room service one morning, and one of the pots of jam was obviously opened and partly consumed. Otherwise no complaints.
Review 21:Location, comfortable rooms, pleasant staff
Review 22:Rooms are very dated, some bar staff can be very im personable. Parking is ridiculously expensive. No tea and coffee in room.
Review 23:Location is excellent- the main reason it's graded a 4*.
Review 24:The amenities in the bathroom were pretty average.pPleasa t
Review 25:The room was big enough for two people, in a quiet área, and on the sea front. Breakfast was good as well as food we ordenei in the room. And the room itself was well decorated.
Review 26:Breakfast is optional and expensive and there didn't appear to be a large breakfast area. However, bakery and croissant shop with takeaway coffee just across from the hotel's main entrance. Internet access very intermittent when the hotel is full!
Review 27:Superb location right on the seafront with easy access to the beach and to the old town. Would definitely recommend
Review 28:Parking fees a bit excessive given the hotel accommodation costs.
Review 29:Gracious hotel in superb seafront location. Such well appointed rooms with high quality bedlinen. Excellent restaurant - we ate there all 3 nights of our stay and were impressed with the value for money in such a foodie resort!
Review 30:Unfriendly reception manager. Rooms somewhat too small. Very noisy closing procedure of the outside ground floor terrace at night.
Review 31:Great location. Great view from the rooms (especially from the top floor rooms with terraces with a fabulous view, especially at night). Room comfort. General atmosphere and classical decoration. In general, friendly and efficient staff. Pleasant salons. Price-worthy.
Review 32:Not bad, just that the printer wasn't working so could not print boarding passes, but reception printed them for us.
Review 33:Good quality room and bathroom, great central location, staff were approachable and helpful. Like the robes, cleanliness, décor and comfort. Liked that you put on the cocktail hour of Basque food and drink 3 lifts so no danger of walking up. Walking down the stairs I was struck by the thoughtful little piles of novels left by guests and the fruit bowl. Sea view not essential...
Review 34:The internet is very slow
Review 35:The room is comfortable but small a little. The location is perfect . The hotel and the room are very clean and the staff kind and welcoming . We enjoyed very much and Surely come again
Review 36:WiFi is fine in the lounge and near reception. However in our very nice 6th floor room the reception fluctuated between zero and near zero. Management lent us a pocket modem and that made it possible to log into sites - but at an unacceptably slow rate.
Review 37:A comfortable place in the style of more than a century ago. The ground floor lounge-bar area has quality seating with a relaxed view to the beach.
Review 38:Room much smaller than announced on booking. Very poor wifi. Inattentive personnel.
Review 39:The view on the bay. The light. The comfort of the bed. The general atmosphere.
Review 40:The noise from the 'band' ? on Sat. night was unbearable and went on very late. Has the hotel and other residents no influence on this sort of noise?
Review 41:The location is perfect and the type of room requested was allocated. We were delighted with it.
Review 42:Room not spacious, very noisy facing the promenade in early hours of the morning.Expensive for amenity provided.
Review 43:Location near the water, convenient to most tourist venues.
Review 44:The wifi was frustrating as every time you returned to the hotel after being out you would have to find the details and sign in all over again
Review 45:The location was excellent. Within walking distance to everything that is worth seeing in San Sebastián.
Review 46:Breakfast bit chaotic, just adequate hot food selection, very poor pressure from shower.
Review 47:Location, valet parking, staff professional, evening set dinner exceptional value for money, lounge bar very pleasant, lifts very fast.
Review 48:The bed was pretty hard, and conditioner in the bathroom would have been nice. But the bedroom was gorgeous.
Review 49:The location is fabulous, and the sea views are just incredible. Drinks in the bar are very reasonable, and the place is gorgeously plush.
Review 50:A quality Hotel in a perfect location by the sea. Our superior room was very comfortable The breakfast offering was top notch in a room overlooking the beach. and promenade.
Review 51:Cleaning lady entered our room MULTIPLE TIMES without knocking. She would knock as she opened the door without giving us a chance for a response..twice she caught is naked in the shower! We even had the do not disturb thing on the door. Hotel rooms are very dated, don't even have a coffee maker or an ironing board.
Review 52:Perfect location.
Review 53:For the ver high price of the room the hotel could include a coffee maker in the room as well as a coupon for chair rental at the beach.
Review 54:Great location right at the beach. Our room was comfortable and had a quaint balcony overlooking the city. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Review 55:Staff was absolutely fantastic and extremely helpful. Hotel is gorgeous with a perfect location. Overall an amazing place to stay, and we would return in a heartbeat.
Review 56:No coffee making facility in the rooms and room service only available from 7am.
Review 57:The location is fabulous, there is a big supermarket close by. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 58:I have stayed in 8 four stars, 1 three star and 1 five star hotels over the last two weeks. This hotel was priced 25% above other hotels of equal quality and service. There are much better values to be had elsewhere in San Sebastian.
Review 59:Bed and linen were excellent. The room was clean.
Review 60:would prefer the rooms to be slightly bigger, recommend to check your size as I realised when we arrived there are variations.
Review 61:I would strongly recommend a sea view room. it worth it. Well located your close to most attractions very nice for a romantic weekend. check the weather forecast.
Review 62:Rooms were a bit tired and quite small for the price and the airconditioning didn't work very well at times. The bathroom was very short on storage for a travellers toiletries
Review 63:Location was fabulous and staff were very helpful and friendly . Bed was very comfortable and a good size .
Review 64:I had no complaints on this Hotel!
Review 65:I booked the Hotel de Londres y de Inglaterra on a whim because I wanted to stay in the heart of San Sebastian and of course it had to have parking. I of course didn't know that San Sebastian was having one of there nightly Fireworks right outside my Hotel. So I was pleasantly surprised. This is a true 5 Star hotel but unfortunately it only has 4 Stars. The service is way above all other four Star hotels I have stayed at. The Free WiFi was not at all arriving or available in my room and after calling the front desk they offered for FREE Vodafone Portable WiFi and boy that helped immensely and I was able to do my work quickly so that I could enjoy San Sebastian sights and sounds. I would more than gladly come back to Hotel de Londres y de Inglaterra and recommend them to anyone wanting to stay in the Heart of San Sebastian.
Review 66:Outdated furniture. I know they are going for the boutique look, but the chairs and furniture were just plain and old. Wifi barely worked in rooms and other amenities were not the best.
Review 67:The location is the best. I'm not sure if there is a hotel that is better located. Everything seemed to be within walking distance.
Review 68:Nothing of any significance.
Review 69:The hotel was very well located and the service was excellent. All the staff were friendly and very efficient. Although our rate didn't include breakfast we were more than happy to pay for this as an extra as it was very good. The concierge was very helpful and pointed us in the direction of some good restaurants.
Review 70:This was the first hotel we stayed at on our honeymoon and we enjoyed our visit immensely. The hotel is a short walk from all the best restaurants and bars and the staff is very helpful and polite. San Sebastián is a beautiful place and the hotel enhanced our enjoyment of it.
Review 71:Wonderful location! Gorgeous views in seaside rooms. Walked out of our room into the beach. Close to Old Town where all of the great food and nightlife is. Breakfast was delicious. great!
Review 72:Disappointed that despite requesting at least twice that the two rooms booked for my family be beside each other , they did not facilitate us. It would have greatly improved our time at the hotel if they had . After putting up a big battle they agreed to move us on night 2 but by then my teenage kids did not want to move again.
Review 73:Location location location!
Review 74:The rooms are small and do not live up to the classification of a De-luxe double room in a 4-Star hotel. The so-called balcony was so small that two people could barely stand there.
Review 75:Ideally situated close to beach and old town. Indoor cafe and bar are fine.
Review 76:If I have to be picky....breakfast got crowded, refrig wasn't cold enough....but had to really think of something!!
Review 77:Perfect location, helpful and friendly staff....taking with us happy memories of a beautiful experience in San Sebastián!!!
Review 78:Hotel staff coming in without knocking, dirty windows spoiling fab view, noise in hallways till 4a.m! No free water
Review 79:Loved access to beach & the old town
Review 80:Hotel Londres is the perfect place to stay! The location is sublime and I can't imagine having a better experience than we did at the Londres. The staff was amazing, we enjoyed to food, the room was perfect- large, with a terrace and a view. We simply loved it and will definitely be back! Thank you.
Review 81:It's clear they want to remain a classy hotel and not become a beach hotel (you're not allowed to walk around in swimwear), but since it is on the beach, it would be nice if there was an alternate access with outdoor showers to rinse off. We felt underdressed trekking through the lobby after hanging out on the beach.
Review 82:Beautiful hotel room. Very nice furnishings, spacious bathroom, comfortable bed, air conditioning. Right on the beach in San Sebastian. Wifi was ok. The breakfast buffet was very good (not included, 19 euro per person).
Review 83:Not a thing.
Review 84:Splurged for the sea view room and it was worth every penny. Didn't need too much from staff, but did use Leira (concierge) and she was welcoming and helpful.
Review 85:Don't have any complaints except that our classic room could have been a bit bigger.
Review 86:Beautiful hotel in an excellent location. Hotel is close to the beach, Old Town and the shopping district.
Review 87:We absolutely loved everything about our stay in San Sebastian at Hotel de Londres y de Inglaterra. The hotel was lovely - the location, the meals, the atmosphere the staff were outstanding, and the city itself makes for one of the best beach locations we have ever been to. can't wait to return!!!
Review 88:The poor WIFI really was a disappointment and was offline completely for a considerable time.
Review 89:The location was excellent and service good particularly the concierge who was extremely helpful. We got a room on the 6 floor with beach views which was fantastic.
Review 90:Hung our breakfast in the room order form on the door handle, but didn't get breakfast in the morning and we found the order form still on the door.
Review 91:Extremely pleasant and helpful staff, especially at reception and the porters. Great shower.
Review 92:Our room was perfect for watching the sunset. Located on the main promenade with easy beach access. Beach towels provided. The room was nice and WIFI worked everywhere on the property. The Staff were helpful and friendly. This is the way to do San Sebastian.
Review 93:We had a 6th floor sea view room - only a stand up juliet style balcony but spent lots of time watching the world go by below - if you can get a 7th floor with proper 'sit-out' balcony go for it!
Review 94:The wifi failed to work in our room - not a massive issue as it worked fine in the bar downstairs - but it meant I wasn't able to stay on top of work as much as I would have liked. Possibly a sign to actually have a holiday though!
Review 95:Fabulous location, very helpful staff - in particular the concierge Leire was absolutely wonderful - and lovely room. We had a fabulous time in this hotel and wanted to stay for longer.
Review 96:traffic noise and the bed was resembled a fold out it didn't have a solid base not great for sleeping
Review 97:one particular staff receptionist was outstandingly helpful
Review 98:The arrival and check in was not pleasant at all but on contrary gave a sense of disorganization that was clearly transmitted to us the customers. For a 4star hotel this should not happen. Upon arrival waited 10 mins inside my car for someone to pick the keys and take luggage out. At the end walked out of the car and went directly to reception to find out that being 4pm one of my rooms was not yet available. Though it did not take much time to be ready. In the meantime someone just took the key to park. When asking if I wasn't going to receive a ticket for the car the answer I got was that "they always find the keys and by the end? are not lost". Interesting that when checking out there were some moments on which my car key was not found.
Review 99:Sea view in coffee area
Review 100:Location was great being on the beach, and about 5 mins walk to the old town, and 15 minute walk from the train station. Reception was professional, and a concierge service was available next to reception.
Review 101:My husband and I loved the location . Do your self a favour and book a room with a sea view . Beautiful spot in the world . An easy walk to Allan Sebastian has to offer .
Review 102:Wifi was good at first but then very inconsistent until it stopped pretty much altogether. The wifi was inconsistent during our first visit as well.
Review 103:Location, comfort....Gin Tonics!!!
Review 104:I'm not sure if this is the case for all the floors, but we stayed on the fifth floor. I can only assume that the room had a wooden ceiling, because we could hear every step/movement of the people above us. We couldn't sleep late, because the people in the room above us were moving around in their room early in the morning for a long period. When we came back for an afternoon nap, again there were noises from upstairs for an hour, so we couldn't have a nap. We came back the evening at around 01:00. Finally at 02:30 in the morning people were still moving around in the room above us (every step is very loud). We are not people who complain easily, but at that stage I was desperate, so we called reception who said they would investigate and eventually it went quite. I thought all was settled (next morning was fine) but the next evening at 01:00 again we are woken up by loud noises, again I called reception, but they didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. We had to wake up early the next morning to be in time for the airport - we were very tired after we left the hotel. As our accommodation was expensive (Eur 1000 for 3 nights) we were very disappointed.
Review 105:The location is great.
Review 106:Location and view (we had a room overlooking the beach) and service were all excellent. Room was comfortable and quite spacious (by European standards).
Review 107:If you have a car, it's challenging to get into the main entrance. You must drive around the block to come into the side "street"that the main reception is on. Ignore your gps and look at the map.
Review 108:The hotel is a great location to branch out and see the town. You are a5-10 minute walk to where the old town is an 25+ little bars andrestaurants are for all the great Pintxos tastings. Main hotel staffwere very friendly and knowledgable and patient with the fact wedidn't speak much Spanish.
Review 109:Wifi was spotty, but gives an excuse to pour a glass of wine and enjoy the view!
Review 110:Absolutely the best view along the beach. Breathtaking. Tasteful decor. Staff was very helpful. Easy walk to many restaurants and sights.
Review 111:I loved the view of Bahia de La Concha from my room and easy access to the beach. I took a therapeutic dip in the bracing sea water every day which was certainly a highlight and unexpected opportunity of my trip to San Sebastián.
Review 112:From the entrance through the bar you realise you are entering another era but with the advantages of the present. The blue and red velvet decor at the bar, the glass old fashioned lift, the marble bathroom... And of course, the view to the best city beach in the world
Review 113:The staff was very welcoming, the room was fantastic as we travel with a baby and we need plenty of room for all of items, and the hotel is in a great location. It sits right in front of La Concha
Review 114:i paid almost 300€ for a city view room ,no...I want the sea view .The Internet super slowly... (I will be book it early before I gonna SanSe). See u next time :)
Review 115:the room was a little bit small but everything was elegant and pretty nice
Review 116:nothing to dislike. Typical grand hotel.
Review 117:The location with views of the beach and the sound of the surf. Easy walking access to the beach and to the older town with fantastic Tapas bars
Review 118:Best location in all of San Sebastian, in an elegant and classy building. Very courteous and attentive staff, especially the concierge Leire. Comfortable and very clean rooms.
Review 119:At this room rate, one would expect a welcome courtesy of at least some water... San Sebastian water - usually in all of northern Spain - tap water is of excellednt quality, but not very correct to serve yourself from the bathroom...
Review 120:The best location in San Sebastian! Well restored maintaining original dignity and charm
Review 121:None
Review 122:The location is fantastic, right on the Concha beach, and walking distance to all monuments and the old city. Our room was beautiful and the bath accessories incredibly complete and high level. The entire staff was extremely friendly, warm and helpful. We will never forget our stay here.
Review 123:Finding the entrance.
Review 124:We had a sea view room which must be the choice. A view over the extensive bay. Valet parking. Easy walk along the promenade and into town
Review 125:the hotel is being redecorated externally and is covered with scaffolding. At 8am a painter arrived outside my bedroom window on a walk-way and proceeded to paint the balcony! I would probably avoid staying here until the hotel can confirm that the work is completed
Review 126:Skip the breakfast. Congealed scrambled eggs. Asked the cook to make me an omelet and she pointed to something she had cooked maybe half an hour ago.
Review 127:Right on the beach Boardwalk. Incredible views of the Bay from bar , restaurant, and our room. Wonderful staff, especially the concierge, Eskarne..take any guided tour with her and you will smile.
Review 128:Old world comfort with a beautiful view. Either side of the hotel would be equally lovely - beach or city view. Could not fault the location, amenities or anything else. It was wonderful!
Review 129:The entrance of hotel was a bit confusing for us as we drove car there. Getting to drop off spot was difficult as the narrow ramp in front of hotel was packed with cars. And no one was there to help. Also the hotel doesn't have parking facility or help with car parking, so basically you will have to use public parking by hotel's suggestion. There was a guy handling other people car running around, so we asked him to take our car to park. He refused to help. This is a big minus for a claimed 4 stars hotel.
Review 130:Good value. Helpful front staff. Good location.
