Reviews for Best Western Hotel München Airport
Review 1:This was a complete rip-off. First of all, they claim they are by the airport.......WRONG...17 Km from airport. We were charged 369 Euros when the posted listing for the room was 129 Euros. There was a convention in town so they totally gouged the customers.
Review 2:Nothing
Review 3:The one day , the wifi was very poor but that was not the fault of the hotel. They did everything that they could to rectify it.excellent staff
Review 4:The double. Beds , the spacious room , and the breakfast along with the one supper was excellent . They had an excellent chef and staff !
Review 5:The rooms being cold as they are already, we were quite surprised that the hotel additionally turns off the heating in a centralized fashion for all rooms during the night. Despite having been booked early enough the Terme Shuttle failed to pick us up so we had to take a taxi back at our own expense.
Review 6:The staff at the check-in is very friendly and the process was very straightforward and pleasant. Our room was also ready this time even earlier than last time, which was extremely important to us due to the pressing deadline. Thank you, Best Western!!
Review 7:Stayed 1 of our night in a room with twin beds, low ceiling by one of the beds. Couples make sure you avoid this.
Review 8:This is a good value. We stayed at the beginning and end of our trip. Keep in mind this is not a typical airport hotel location. Small town 13.4 kl. Staff very nice.
Review 9:Rooms rather spartan, very cold. Hardly a 4-star level. Had to wait a long time for a check-in with no one caring about it.
Review 10:Friendly service at the check-in and out, average otherwise. Pretty close to the Therme. Availability of the Shuttle is great!
Review 11:It would have been nice if the bar had been open in the evening when we got back from the Therme.
Review 12:We used the hotel because of its proximity to Therme Erding. We were really impressed with staff helpfulness and cleanliness.
Review 13:Not very handy for airport (despite hotel name), though there is an hourly shuttle, it costs 28 Euros for 2 people and takes 20 minutes. Situated in an industrial area (though I suppose a more central hotel would have cost more). Small shower cubicle in room. Air-con was noisy and emitted loud buzzing noises even after being switched off. No possibility of getting a hot drink in the evening - machine in the bar was out of order two nights. One complimentary bottle of water in room on arrival, but this was not replaced for the 2nd and third nights. Similarly, the shower gel also ran out after the first night and was never re-filled.
Review 14:Convenient for Therme Erding (main purpose of our visit). Shuttle bus to & from there for small fee. Breakfast was good, if a little chaotic as often the case with buffet-style. Very friendly and helpful staff, good English spoken. Reasonable rates. Free wi-fi was fairly quick.
Review 15:This hotel is lovely but shouldn't be called an airport hotel asit's 17km and I was told the shuttle fee was and extra 20 euros uponarrival but the morning staff charged me 25 euros! Made for an expensivestay after all.
Review 16:Nice hotel. Lousy location.
Review 17:no air conditioning, all though a fan was provided in the room. WiFi was too slow.
Review 18:Good Pillows, thick matress, great water pressure in shower. Good hot water in bathroom.
Review 19:location and the 20 euro buffet meal which was the only option the evening of our stay - certainly not good value
Review 20:Appeared clean
Review 21:Breakfast room
Review 22:Staff and my room
Review 23:Car park ,on street or v expensive Evening meal themed, no veggie options except potato
Review 24:Location excellent for nearby thermal SPA Good breakfast Great beds
Review 25:costly taxi ride from the airport 35 eu for a 15 min drive. Coins not get anyone to speak English at the hotel to send a van to pick me up it would have stll cost 28 eu's for the ride need to figure this into the cost Of the room.
Review 26:very clean hotel staff once I got there were very helpful after a long day in the airport Nice bar to have a beer or drink at Short walk to the train station to get into Munich Breakfast was very good made the taxi issue ok
Review 27:This is not an airport hotel. A €56 round trip from the airport on the"courtesy bus" made this more expensive and less convenientthan staying at the Kempinski, for instance - which is just yards fromthe terminal building.
Review 28:Bad return on the money ,paid 400 euro per 2 nights and could get aclean reasonable towel , bed did not face tv , half of the room was roofstyle , never again
Review 29:Some of the receptionists were unfriendly due to the fact that the competion does not exist nearby.
Review 30:It's a clean fascility. Very simple. I like that.
Review 31:Waiting for 55 minutes for the shuttle bus in -4,c after being told itwould arrive in 10 minutes, 3 calls later being each time told it wouldarrive in 10 mins. The buffet was appalling & stewed when I askedfor fresh was told that there was no more. When 30 minutes later when Ihad finished the rubbish a cancelled Lufthansa flight arrived -thebuffet was refurbished with fresh.[disgraceful] Having arrived late anda early flight I requested that I could have early check out! Themanager agreed. I tried to check out and was rudely told that earlycheck out was not possible and was told pointedly I would have to get upearlier and check out as I left the hotel. After this person hadfinished shift the night porter said no problem and checked me out ofthe hotel. I requested the shuttle bus for 06.30 and was told it onlyruns every hour on the hour. I asked for a taxi at 06.30 and got theshuttle bus and had to pay 40 euros for a 10 minute drive. I am ManagingDirector of a Consultancy and just closed a contract that will meanregular trips to Munich for myself and agents. I nor my agents will stayat this hotel again I have a Best Western Platinum card stay in hotelsall over the world and think I can see a bad one!
Review 32:The night porter who was the only person of any focus on the customeror cared .
Review 33:Upon arrival at the reception asked Visa card. Then blocked on theamount of one night's hotel accommodation. On departure, we willcalculate the full per stay (2 days). Blocked amount I get a month. Wetravel a lot. Never, not in a hotel of Europe does not.
Review 34:TIhis place is really bad! There is no food available between breakfastand evening. Then you have to pay 28 euros per person for a ride toairport. Normal taxi is like 35 euros. There is nothning close to thehotel. I would not ever recommend this.
Review 35:Room was okay, nothing to complain, but nothing really special. First Iwas put to smoking room but after that I got non smoking. I would notrecommend this hotel to anyone, maybe only in emergency case.
Review 36:It was a long way from Munich Airport nearly 20km. An inter connectingdoor between another bedroom and ours had been left unlocked by staff !
Review 37:The room was clean and usable.
Review 38:Reception staff Female reception manager on my arrival was unwelcoming , surly, uncooperative, not interested. If I could have cancelled my reservation at that arrival point I would have most certainly done so. Appalling attitude !!!
Review 39:Staff in dining room
Review 40:I was appalled to learn that on at least one night of our stay at theBest Western Hotel Munchen-Airport there was absolutely no clerk workingat the front desk during the late night. My wife had occasion to calldown to the front desk concerning a question she had regarding thetelevision channels. After numerous unanswered phone calls, she went tothe front desk. It took her 15 minutes to find a clerk that possessed anametag of Alexander. When my wife inquired why there was no one at thefront desk he became argumentative implying that he was there the wholetime. The next morning, during our check out, I spoke with a supervisorwith the hotel by the name of Robert Britscka. When I advised him of thetotal lack of security the evening before he assured my wife and I thatwe were mistaken and that there are always at least 2 people at thefront desk in the overnight. Needless to say our conversation was notsatisfactory. After already having stayed at the Best Western StieglBrau in Salzburg, Austria, the week before, this hotel rates a zero forsecurity issues alone as well as administration oversight. The simplefact that they leave the front desk unattended for any length of timeand then deny it leaves a traveller in a precarious position -especially an American tourist. Please note that this review is not ablack on booking.com. It is merely a wakeup call to everyone todutifully and independently review all recommended hotels prior tobooking through any service. Further be advised that I will beforwarding a copy of this to the Best Western main office to alert themto this loosely independently owned and loosely operated affiliate.Should you have any questions or comments, you have my email. Review 41:The room were clean.
Review 42:The young, poorly trained desk staff at this hotel were not very helpful. Also, the hotel which we booked simply because we had an early flight next morning, is farther from the airport than other hotels and the shuttle bus was not free although it was advertised as such, and had a surly driver. The facilities were fine; we didn't eat at the restaurant so can't comment on it.
Review 43:Although at first glance, the town of Erding where this hotel is situated, looked pretty sterile, we found an excellent Italian restaurant a few blocks away that totally changed our perception of staying here.
Review 44:Very over priced for the room type during Octoberfest. Poor amenitiesconsidering the high cost of the room. They charge 28 euro to shuttleyou to the airport. This is typically free at most 4 star Hotels. In myopinion this Hotel is not a 4 based on the services, room style andshuttle fee.
Review 45:Clean Hotel. Very good location for access to the airport and thetrains.
Review 46:The staff seemed snobby, like it was an imposition to ask them foranything. When asked, in German, if they spoke English, the reply waslike "Well, if I have to." The whole experience was off-putting. Plus, the name of the hotel makes you think you are close to the airport. Ha!Had heard too many questionable opinions to trust the shuttle service sowe used the rail system to get to the airport. The cost of the shuttle, had we used it, and the cost of the breakfast buffet, had we indulged, were way out of line. Room came with two twin beds for my wife and I. Ibelieve the website promised double bed.
Review 47:It was quiet enough for sleeping and the room air conditionerworked well.
Review 48:I chose it for it's location to the airport. It really wasn't thatclose. I thought the price of the shuttle to the airport was very high. The room we had faced west. It was very hot when we walked in. Althoughthey stated they had fans, they couldn't provide us one. We had to keepthe windows open as well as our door to the hall. (Their suggestion). The price we paid and the extra price for breakfast and shuttle made this hotel totally unacceptable.
Review 49:How can this hotel be called 'Munchen Airport? It's a 30 Euro taxi ride from the airport. Had I known how far away it was I would never have booked. Probably should have checked but I simply believed that 'Muchen Airport' was exactly that
Review 50:This hotel should not be advertised as "Munich Airport" as it is 25 Kmfrom the airport and the charge for a shuttle service is $28 Euro eachway per person. This is unreasonable. However, if one has a car, it is aterrific location and therefore, worth the stay. The Hotel should makeaware the cost of the shuttle on the Booking.com website.
Review 51:Location in Erding was a very pleasant surprise. A very cute town with agreat Brewery (Erdinger Weisbrau) which provided a very wonderfulbrauhaus meal.
Review 52:The hotel is is located 16 km from the Munich airport (which was notwhat I expected from an "Airport hotel"). Because of the great distance, their shuttle van cost 29 Euro each way and only travels once per hour.Cab fare is 40 Euro.
Review 53:The room was clean and comfortable. In addition, it was walking distancefrom the train station (800 m).
Review 54:Only downside was I booked a double room and instead got two singles pushed together with separate single duvets. Not great for a young couple on our anniversary but also entirely unpractical as the room was very cold and the only heating availiable was in the bathroom. Other than it being a very cold and unpractical sleeping arrangement we enjoyed our stay.
Review 55:No issues with the staff or the general aspects of the hotel, overall a pleasant expeience. The breakfast is vast and varied and the bar staff were friendly and helpful. The reception staff were great and we really appreciated the free wifi.
Review 56:Quite close to the Therme Erding if you don't mind walking over some fields. Provides a shuttle to the Therme.
Review 57:sloping roof in room, very expensive parking, very expensive breakfast, small room
Review 58:friendly staff
Review 59:staff was great ,and all employees seemed to enjoy their job
Review 60:Would like to have been closer to the rail system
Review 61:The hotel staff were very helpful ... in English!!!
Review 62:It is close to the Munich Airport but not in the big city. Food and amenities close by.
Review 63:Bathroom facilities - too small and very cramped, especially the the shower and small sink
Review 64:Location - close to airport
Review 65:Location and cleaniness of room
Review 66:It is not at the airport. It takes over an hour to get there when youland. It also is over an hour from city.I felt misled
Review 67:The staff were nice
Review 68:Professional staff that spoke excellent English. Also entire hotel wasvery clean.
Review 69:Cracked tiles in bathroom, poor food choice, poor customer service andunfriendly staff.
Review 70:I did nt like very much about the hotel at all.
The Fine Print
