Reviews for Hostal Bahía
Review 1:Air conditioner didn't work and we'd opted for an internal room (our choice) so was very stuffy - overhead ceiling fan clattered around all night - if you offer an internal room it needs air conditioning ....
Review 2:Fabulous location
Review 3:Didnt like walking into someone else's room on arrival... . it wasnta busy time at reception. Correct key was not given to us....opened doorto room and found people in it...nice start....
Review 4:Breakfast staff flat out but helpful under our personal circumstances.Able to leave bags at reception. Wifi fine. Old school clean. Greatthematic clown paintings in breakfast space.
Review 5:Tea and coffee making facilities would have been nice although they did give us jugs of hot water. Room was a bit small but workable.
Review 6:The Hostal Bahia is rated as 2-star. Based on our extensive travel experience, we think one of their stars must have fallen off - definitely 3 star. Great location for everything including the esplanade and beaches. Small but clean, nicely furnished, comfortable bed and good, modern bathroom. Helpful staff, good Wifi and nice European style breakfast. Small balcony.
Review 7:Too expensive for what it has to offer. The lift is too narrow and slow. The breakfast room is too small, too many tables for the available area.
Review 8:Locaton, close to the bay.
Review 9:It has a bar/disco below it, Saturday night was not quiet till 3am. Sunday and Monday nights were fine though
Review 10:The location was excellent 2 minutes from beach. But also near town centre, train and railway station.
Review 11:The location of the hotel was perfect. Only 1-2 streets back from the beach and a 5 minute walk from Old Town. The staff were very friendly and willing to help.
Review 12:Noisy from the street at night, a bar on the street are playing musice which we could hear so had to sleep with windows all closed. Very poor breakfast including crossaint and tee.
Review 13:Very helpful staff, ok to bring own food which we eat in the dinningroom. Great location one block from the beach and 10 min walk from old town. Clean room and cleaning every day.
Review 14:The room smelled of cigarettes and sewers, our clothes stank for 2 days, the air conditioning did not work, they wanted to keep my passport, the "patio" was really a bunch of walls and windows with lineclothes... Very expensive for what it was. I whish i'd stayed in a youth hostel, it would have been better!
Review 15:Fantastic position just behind the beachfront. Everything you could possibly need within a stone's throw and only a 15 minute walk from either the bus or train station. Friendly and helpful staff.
Review 16:Very poor value, very noisy, you won't get to sleep until all the other residents have finished their phone calls. No parking. Air con did not work. 3 beds in the room, like a furniture store. It would have been ok at a fraction of the price.
Review 17:Air conditioning turned off overnight from midnight every night but we weren't informed so had to sleep in the floor one hot night (>30 degrees). Breakfast poor, only croissant/cake and piece of bread with no other options.
Review 18:The bed was comfortable. Fast wifi.
Review 19:The AC is turned off at 10PM, so beware! The ceiling fan was too squeaky to use as an alternative. Typical Spanish breakfast of carbs, carbs, and more carbs. A buffet would be better with self-service coffee pots.
Review 20:The location is great- two minutes from Concha Beach. It was clean and worked for the one night we needed a hotel.
Review 21:There was a distant throbbing noise through the night, just audible which annoyed me sometimes. (Air conditioning or something?)
Review 22:The location was perfect for town and beach. Helpful staff and clean adequate room.
Review 23:Not really handy to many restaurants. Room somewhat cramped. Staff were generally helpful, but didn't speak much English or other languages. My limited Spanish turned out to be better than their English. Breakfast included in price -- just as well, as was pretty basic. Coffee served in jugs that weren't designed for that purpose and spilled coffee everywhere. We went out for breakfast for third morning, to get decent cup of coffee.
Review 24:Reasonable location, short walk to beach and promenades and a commercial centre. Rather beautiful older building. Elevator (but need to get up short flight of stairs to get to it). Reception staffed 24 hours.
Review 25:Terrible view from the window - kept the curtains drawn for 2 days! Limited breakfast.
Review 26:Location perfect - just 5 minutes from the wonderful beach. Good value.
Review 27:The staff were slow to react sometimes and there was lots of street noise.
Review 28:The room (and particularly the bathroom) was a good size. The breakfast was much nicer than I'd expected.
Review 29:Nothing.
Review 30:Owner couldn't do enough for us. Rooms were on the small size but clean and comfortable beds. Great location close to beach and old town. Would stay there again.
Review 31:The room was too small for three people - this may not be an issue for those who stay there overnight. WI FI almost did not work at all, except in the lobby. There were only two electricity sockets in the room, plus one in the bathroom. Breakfast was basic but quite filling (bread, muffin, croissant, jam, butter and coffee). Hovewer, it was the same every day and you get just one really small glass of juice - and if you ask for more you will be extra charged (?!) Noise from the street was terrible, we had to keep the windows closed all the time.
Review 32:The location is pefrect, less than 5 minutes from La Concha beach, 15 minutes to old town, close to shopping area. We got the room with big and comfortable bathroom. Everything was clean, and the towels were changed daily. Overall, the price is reasonable, considering the place.
Review 33:Very clean rooms. Not huge rooms but all you need. Very well placed for the bus station and town, both only a short walk away. Everything we needed for a very good price.
Review 34:Wifi dropped in and out. Interior room was a little musty.
Review 35:Great area! Close the the beach. Short walk to the old town Lovely breakfast Staff were helpful with recommendations So so clean. Safe
Review 36:internet connectivity not good, poor wifi some stairs to reach even upto lift, so to consider this with heavy luggage. private bath, but doors are slider-types, do not offer complete privacy.
Review 37:breakfast included. 24 h reception. friendly and co-operative staff. satisfies customized request where possible.
Review 38:Noise from traffic (my room was on road side) Noise from adjoining rooms (slamming doors, water pipes) Breakfast only starts @ 08:00 (in practice a bit later). Had to go for breakfast in town despite it being included in the rate.
Review 39:Location good, friendly staff, clean.
Review 40:Great location, only 2min walk to La Concha beach! Good restaurants/cafes in immediate area. Very good friendly, helpful, professional staff. This hostal offers hotel type service and accommodation at hostal rates. Good breakfast on site. Own balcony a plus. Very clean and comfortable room. Small lift a help for getting suitcases upstairs. Would not hesitate to rebook or to recommend to others.
Review 41:The air conditioning was turned off daily between 11pm and 8.30am which would be precisely when guests would be in their rooms ; this effectively meant that air conditioning was mostly unavailable and made sleeping at night uncomfortably hot! The arrangement of the bathroom was really quite bad. The space between the wall and the washbasin was far too small to accommodate the WC properly. The width of the shower was also uncomfortably narrow.
Review 42:Location being only a few minutes stroll to the beach or to the old town was the best part of our stay at Hostal Bahia. The staff were friendly and very helpful.
Review 43:The wifi was in and out. Not strong enough to be too useful. The airconditioning is shut off from 11pm till 8 am. Which isn't a terrible thing unless it's really hot. San Sebastián is a relatively mild climate. So. It's not an issue. I guess.
Review 44:You can't beat the location. A block from the beach. Not just any beach. The best beach in Europe. The hotel is estremely clean and the staff is very helpful and accommodating. 8$ taxi ride to train station. 3 min walk to beach. 10 min walk to old town.
Review 45:1. Difficulty communicating with staff in languages other than Spanish 2. Visitors are not given keys to main door and have to ring the reception each time, which means waiting for minutes on the street in the evenings 3. Small bathroom requires renovation
Review 46:1. Great location 2. Good price compare to other hotels in town
