Reviews for Hotel el Pescador

Review 1:Hotel is high above the town and the walk up and down to it was fairly hard work but worth it as it's much easier with no car in the town itself.

Review 2:The staff were very friendly and the position of the hotel was away from the main tourist area and noise. Nice and relaxing with outdoor seating to enjoy a drink.

Review 3:The hotel is located uphill and the way down and especially back from the centre and the port could be quite challenging for not so fit people, but given El Pescadero is one of the very few hotels offering parking, this is a minor price to pay. Everything else was perfect!

Review 4:The room was very comfortable and nicely decorated, quiet and clean. The bed was very large but a little bit short for people taller than 175cm. Always found a place at the parking outside the hotel. The restaurant is fantastic, ate there all the time during our stay!

Review 5:Peaceful, quiet with onsite parking parking but easy walking distance to the village. Staff were friendly and attentive Spacious bed room, with great shower in the en suite.

Review 6:The location was disappointing. It was a steep climb down steps to the harbour which we could not manage on the way back up! Thankfully there is a taxi service from the town which costs 4-5 euros per trip. Compared to other properties on our tour, this one seemed expensive.

Review 7:Very friendly staff.

Review 8:For some the walk down and especially back may be difficult but for a few euros you can catch a cab either way.

Review 9:Room was good and the restaurant served large local meals. Parking was at the front door. Plenty of bars and restaurants in the village.

Review 10:Very enjoyable stay. Warm greeting, comfortable absolutely spotless room, excellent dinner chosen from a menu specializing in that superb Asturian seafood. Very good price-quality ratio. Ample, free parking. Easy to get into the charming but crowded village of Cudillero.

Review 11:Poor Cudillero is struggling and most of it is empty or closed down. At the end of April we struggled to find anywhere open to have dinner. We were so disappointed as it used to be so vibrant and pretty. Maybe we were just too early in the season?

Review 12:OK, so the décor was not to my taste but it was super clean and comfortable, with a hearty breakfast. Friendly staff.

Review 13:A little rowdy if in a front facing room with the windows open and the restaurant is full !

Review 14:The cleanliness, the restaurant and the friendly staff. The service is typical of well organised Spanish facility and because you are not directly in the town it is nice and quiet !

Review 15:walk to the centre of the village of Cuderillo - very steep climb!

Review 16:Family run business, friendly and helpful even though little English spoken. Breakfast was great ( €7.50 but well worth it) Ate in the restaurant one evening, huge portions, great quality for some beautifully cooked food)

Review 17:The owner was very nice and was willing to pick us up if were could not walk the 2.4 km back from town that was up hill to the hotel

Review 18:The decor of the room was well done

Review 19:Nothing

Review 20:Very good room. Location of hotel a little up hill but a good walk down path to the fishing port village. Not for anyone with a disability but a nice walk otherwise. Food In evening excellent and staff brilliant. We are not too good with Spanish and equally staff at hotel not good either English but both they and us managed to understand each other very well with a lot of smiles

Review 21:Not much view from bedroom Be aware is basically restaurant with rooms rather than hotel so no facilities apart from in rooms, only a restaurant downstairs.

Review 22:Fish dinners excellent 10 mins walk from pretty village, (but a steep climb back) Staff only speak Spanish but very helpful Room very clean and comfortable Plenty of parking

Review 23:Being too old to walk to the village and back!

Review 24:Very generous portions of beautiful cooked sea foods, from the proprietors own boat,at realistic prices.Tablecloths and napkins the norm.Extremely friendly and helpful staff despite the language barrier.

Review 25:Very friendly staff. The whole hotel was very clean. Great food - but enormous portions. Starters were as big as main courses!

Review 26:A long walk into the village, but worth it when you got there.

Review 27:Dinner was excellent.

Review 28:A large room beautifully furnished. Nice Linen, and a very good firm bed. Very comfortable and very friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast.

Review 29:No aircon - rather hot and stuffy.

Review 30:Quality of food.

Review 31:Tom Tom couldn't find it from the address. No fridge. No lift.

Review 32:Lovely bedroom. Quite. Friendly helpful staff

Review 33:Proprietor and staff very helpful but not English speakers!

Review 34:locked in bedroom and couldn't contact reception on room phone.

Review 35:lovely and relaxing. steep walk to local village.

Review 36:Food portions at dinner too big

Review 37:Quirkiness of it

Review 38:only thing was no lift a problem for mature couples. but staff was great.

Review 39:Staff member who booked us in was unfriendly

Review 40:The views

Review 41:Easy to find and good parking. Restaurant excellent

Review 42:We liked everything about the hotel but be warned that if you walk to the port you will probably need a taxi back up unless you are very keen walkers!

Review 43:Excellent rural location with beautiful walk right down to the very pretty fishing village of Cudillero. The welcome was wonderful even though very little Engish was spoken and the breakfast was delicious - great selection of cheeses, hams , fresh bread and cakes. The evening meal was also good.

Review 44:The design of our room was the worst kitsch I've seen in a long time. The hotel is located a bit outside the village, it is a nice walk downhill rewarded with a fantastic view, but the return walk is quite challenging.

Review 45:Extremely friendly and helpful people. Great breakfast and very good restaurant, but huuuuge portions!! Parking in front of the hotel which is very convenient because parking in Cudillero is quite tricky.

Review 46:Nothing. Enjoyed our stay.

Review 47:Lovely hotel. Great room with nice outlook. Extremely friendly and helpful staff although not much English spoken. Good restaurant, would recommend eating here. Although not in main village, it has easy and plentiful parking. Walking track to village at end of the road.

Review 48:There is no fridge in the rooms, no big deal however.

Review 49:El Pescador hotel was a pleasant stay. Location is slightly up in Cudillero; taking the car to go to the Pueblo and harbour is a must as it is not on walking distance however it is only a 5 min ride and easy parking at the harbour and easy way out to the highway for excursions. This is a family run hotel and staff are incredibly friendly, one of the big assets of this place. The restaurant is just superb! Fresh fish, excellent cooking and big portions.

Review 50:Only criticism: the shower, being mock Victorian in design, didn'tfunction at all well.

Review 51:The El Pescador is really a fine restaurant with 8 very comfortablelarge rooms. Family run, they are very friendly and helpful but onlyhave limited English. No problem for us, we live in Spain. Excellentcontinental breakfast and extremely good food in the evenings. Greatfresh fish, they have their own fishing boat. Good cooking and massiveportions, too much really. We loved the place.

Review 52:Lack of comfortable indoor seating - no bar, only one armchair in double room, no lounge area. Poorly designed wash/shower room.

Review 53:Friendliness of staff, excellent breakfast, location for walking into Cudillero.

Review 54:air conditioning would be helpful.

Review 55:friendly owners, very clean, great attention to details, fantastic, just exclusive food in the hotel restaurant.

Review 56:Staff ready to help, excellent cuisine, location, free parking, cozy place
