Reviews for Casona de La Paca
Review 1:The internet connection in the room was not always the best.
Review 2:Casona de la Paca was SO beautiful. I'd always go back and would absolutely recommend it to everyone wanting to stay around the area. Great staff, beautiful room, gorgeous view, quiet, the common rooms downstairs so cozy and stunningly designed. A short drive away from a stunning beach and a long hiking path along the coast. Casona de la Paca is one one my top favorite hotels I stayed at.
Review 3:Noise issue from an adjoining room was annoying.
Review 4:The staff at this hotel were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was very good and the staff remembered our preferences the following morning. We really did feel like guests at Casona de la Paca.
Review 5:Nothing! A small thing-sound insulation is poor in an old building, but guests are asked to take shoes off in the rooms and that does the trick.
Review 6:Beautiful building in a pretty wee town. Staff lovely, breakfast 9euros each and was amazing with lots of homemade cakes, fruit, meat, cheese etc. Lovely sitting room where we spent the evening. Great value and highly recommended!
Review 7:I can't recommend this place because noise was such an issue. The walls are paper thin and the floors are timber with no insulation or rugs. We were kept awake till after midnight one night and till 3am another when guests were permitted to check in at 1am and proceeded to have baths, go to the toilet and walk around. Every plumbing noise sounds through the building. Such a pity because in all other respects it's excellent.
Review 8:This place was excellent in virtually every respect except for noise
Review 9:It was a charming place with beautiful garden. Owner and staff were most helpful. Breakfast excellent and our accommodation was very comfortable. The 2 local restaurants we found to be of excellent value and good food.
Review 10:Hotel is out of Cudilleiro . The walk down to the harbour is only about 1km but involves many steps. Not a problem for us but may not be for everyone.
Review 11:Lovely welcome. We had room at top of house with all round balcony, fab. Breakfast is very good with lots of local bread and pastries but you do pay for it separately . If you need an early start, you may miss breakfast as service does not start until 9am. Beware the drinks measures, they are v large
Review 12:Siamo entrati per primi a fare colazione ma siamo stati serviti per ultimi per quanto riguarda il caffelatte da una cameriera molto antipatica quando ormai avevamo finito di mangiare.Very disappointing!
Review 13:A most tranquil and beautiful country seaside hotel, 3 minutes by car or a long leisurely walk away from the crowded Cudilero core. Monica was cheerfully helpful and spoke perfect English.
Review 14:Excellent breakfast but a little pricey
Review 15:Our second visit, so like coming home. All the staff are so friendly and helpful, the room was lovely and the gardens a delight.
Review 16:Wow everything. We only stayed one night I wish we stayed longer. Juana was so helpful even giving us excelent place to dine. El Faro I tried the best Cabrito ever! The breakfast at La Casona was a beautiful and tasty experience. All the bread and pastries are homemade. The whole experience was unique. The house and the gardens are so Beautiful!!
Review 17:Welcoming and helpful reception. Beautiful building, sympathetically restored and decorated. Our room on the first floor had a lovely separate sitting area with a balcony. Delicious breakfast, fresh coffee and wonderful homemade baking.
Review 18:After spending a week in the picos Cudillero was a bit disappointing and too touristy - Room quite small- not much privacy as you can hear everything from corridor or adjoining rooms
Review 19:Warm welcome - lovely house
Review 20:Nothing.
Review 21:The hotel is in an ideal position about a 15 min walk into town (down lots of steps). The staff were very friendly, breakfast was very good. There was plenty of parking spaces in the hotel grounds.
Review 22:We knew that they did not serve dinner, but there is not much around that is worth eating in.
Review 23:We stayed here because it was a restored Indianos house - these were Gallician emigrants who made a fortune in South America, returned and built these ostentatious houses. The staff are really good and helpful
Review 24:Getting up to the bathroom in the night was a shock! Rather like an escape from Alcatraz as a movement sensor switched on bright lights - I half expected to hear sirens and the barking of bloodhounds! On the second night I disabled it with a sock...
Review 25:The hotel has a great deal of charm with pleasant communal areas and a lovely garden. The staff were very helpful with local information and recommendations, Monica in particular. Breakfast had a great selection of home made goodies. Free on site parking. So good that we extended our stay.
Review 26:the staff was wonderful, spoke English and always available and helpful the breakfast was exceptional--sumptuous, tasty, and inexpensive all of the décor was well done great attention to detail
Review 27:Loved this place. It was above the town and out of the congestion of Cudillero yet easily accessible. Staff were extremely helpful. The room was beautifully appointed, very comfortable and quiet. Extra effort is put into providing an interesting breakfast.
Review 28:It is an old house styled over 3 floors with an open stairwell causing noise to travel up and down. We were next to the lift so found our room quite noisy. Every noise from the room above could be heard.
Review 29:The beautiful, tastefully styled house and the warm welcoming staff. English was spoken well.
Review 30:Noise transference between our room and adjoining rooms particularly the use of and flushing of toilets. Cracked floor tiles in the bathroom.
Review 31:Great staff, every effort made by them to be accommodating. The room was a good size and nicely furnished. Easy to find.
Review 32:Location a bit far from the village, esp walking back in the night. We could not find a taxi and ended up getting lost.
Review 33:Lovely building. Very clean. Friendly hosts.
Review 34:Couldn't see out of the high windows in the bedrooms.
Review 35:lovely rooms, wonderful breakfast, short taxi ride up hill from the village. One night is all you need in this village as it is quite small but unique setting and wonderful vibe. The drive through the village was a challenge...extremely narrow streets.
Review 36:Some noise from the huge campsite just behind the property.
Review 37:Fabulous restored old house with wonderful facilities. Very comfortable room with high quality furnishing. Lovely gardens and lounges. Good breakfast buffet. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Review 50:Beautiful house and gardens, airy rooms. Welcoming staff, comfy lounge areas and bar! Plenty of parking.
Review 51:Breakfast, great service, comfortable room and bed
Review 52:This is one of THE places to stay in Asturias. Understated elegance within an historical property. Most wonderful staff.

Review 70:Nothing!
Review 71:Delightful accommodation, really nice people operating the hotel, very helpful. Room was excellent, we had one with sitting room and balcony. Breakfast was great, although just out of Cudellero, no problem driving to the village, or take a 4Euro taxi!!
Review 72:This "inidanos" house was simply superb and beautifully located. Staff could not have been more helpful. Our room was comfortable and quiet, overlooking lovely gardens. The Casona offers a discreet and charming elegance which makes it special.
Review 73:Rooms comfortable and inviting.Location excellent.Gardens pretty.Breakfast very good. Can't fault quality and friendliness of staff at all times.Easy to walk downhill to little port of Cudillero.Very cheap taxi ride back after dining in evening-Hotel can arrange this!Advice on restaurants very good.
Review 74:It would be helpful to warn guests that the walk into Cudillero is extremely steep. Also to inform guests that there is a taxi service in the village.
Review 75:Lovely and quiet Beautifully furnished Very friendly staff
Review 76:There is absolutely nothing to dislike!
Review 77:Our second visit - and the hotel was every bit as good as we remembered. The house and garden are beautiful, the rooms are very comfortable, the staff are most welcoming and extremely helpful, and the breakfasts are superb.
Review 78:This wonderful French style inn is a real treasure and a joy to stay at. A special thanks to Mónika who was outstanding in everyway. The ground are lovely, the lounge with its cozy fireplace was so enjoyable and our room was a delight. Very comportable bed with quality linens. The breakfast is outstanding and worth twice what you pay. I have stayed at hotels that cost twice and more than here and have enjoyed them less than this. A bit out of town, but only a 3 minute drive away.
Review 79:Not a problem for us, but the hotel is not in the downtown-port view area. A quick drive to the center of town and port side parking were fine. Wifi was weak in our room but good in public rooms.
Review 80:The hotel is beautiful, with lovely gardens. Driving up it looks like a private villa. Rooms were good sized; ours had a sitting room with outdoor terrace. Staff and reception were excellent and helpful with recommendations. The tastefully decorated room and bathroom with lovely decorative tiles were very pleasing. Clean, good bed, nice breakfast, location on edge of town--worked well for us.
Review 81:The staff were lovely and went out of their way to be helpful. The location is lovely with its beautiful garden setti g, but close enough to go into the village for a meal with the locals.
Review 82:It was unfortunate that we only booked the room for two nights, we cold have stayed there for a week.
Review 83:The Casona de la Paca was one of the nicest places we stayed in our 25 day trip through northern Spain. The staff was very welcoming and warm. Our room was the tower room with a balcony wrapping around the entire house, with views to the ocean and mountains alike. What a comfortable room, we just wanted to spend as much time at the hotel as possible, because it was so nice. The hotel grounds were very nice and well maintained, with numerous seating areas for the guests to enjoy.
Review 84:Nothing to dislike
Review 85:What a fantastic place to stay and Maria is so helpful in answering any questions about where to go and what to see. I would recommend anyone who wants a unique place to stay to visit
Review 86:Hotel, room, friendly staff, and attention to detail. The interior design was fabulous. Very warm and cosy. Also noticed how very cean in was everywhere, wish is always good. Thanks
Review 87:Nothing - but I suspect some people may find the fact that they have to drive into the village a bit off putting.
Review 88:The location. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The hotel is decor is lovely and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff including evening cups of tea! Breakfast was very good with a wide range of home made cakes and pastries as well as local hams and cheeses and fresh fruit
Review 89:Cudillero itself is a bit of a walk - ok going down, but coming back up steep steps.
Review 90:Really pleasant hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Great lounge areas with a bar and a good garden area to sit in too.Great room with living area and balcony. Great breakfast.
Review 91:There is an established small campsite behind the house, with a swimming pool, and so there is noise from this which carries into the house through open windows. But the pool only opens a 11am and closes at 7pm. This is a fabulous hotel and I would not let this put me off staying again.
Review 92:Everything! Welcoming and helpful staff, great breakfasts with really freshly made food and a wide variety of choice including home-made cakes. Really beautifully restored house with lots of attention to detail to make it look contemporary and reflect its history. I really recommend this hotel.
Review 93:A wonderfully renovated indiano style Asturian mansion within walkingdistance of picturesque town Cudillero. Attentive hosts and charmingsitting rooms. Not to be missed!
Review 94:Lovely accommodation. Perfect position for overnight stay at Cudillero. Staff very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Rooms were very comfortable And very clean. Breakfast was delicious with fresh cakes and pastries. Definately recommend.
Review 95:Everything! We have no idea, why this very nice hotel has only 2 stars. We as frequent travellers awards this hotel with 5 stars. The rooms are very nice furnitured. The breakfast couldn't be better and the staff is very friendly.
Review 96:Although it did not cause us a problem , there are two steps fromreception to the ground floor room and the lift to upper floor. Aseverely disabled person may find it difficult unless they can be lifted- and I am sure the owners would try to assist.
Review 97:Great welcome and very helpful about the area. Assisted my disabledwife and nothing was too much trouble. Had a lovely ground floor roomwith french doors into the garden. Good value breakfast and ampleparking. Ideal location if using Asturias airport which is less than 20minutes away.
Review 98:We were given a free upgrade. The rooms we had were very well appointed and very clean. The bed was lovely and comfortable! The staff went out of their way to help in any way they could. Breakfasts were wonderful! Grounds and gardens were a delight. I would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation.
Review 99:Nothing. However, the lack of a restaurant may be inconvenient for some travellers.
Review 100:The excellent hospitality of the staff. The colourful surroundings in an interesting, beautifully maintained, house and garden. The excellent breakfast, including many home-baked items and freshly-squeezed orange juice.
Review 101:Excellent staff. Pleasant location just outside major tourist attraction (Cudillero). Free parking on site. Short drive to town where there were excellent restaurants.
Review 102:We enjoyed the location to Cudillero, as well as the design aspects of the hotel. The setting was cozy, romantic, and inviting. Also, we enjoy history in general, and architectural design, and we appreciated that a brochure was placed in our room explaining the history of Cudillero as well as the hotel. The staff were wonderful, providing a yummy breakfast in the morning, including freshly-made berry crepes. We would definitely stay here again, and recommend this hotel to others!
Review 103:It is difficult to visit the local seaside town of Cudillero by foot from the hotel, and certainly not at night, as there is a steep path down the cliffside which is unsuitable for anyone who is not fit. Do not rely on the local taxis at night as we were let down when trying to get back to the hotel from Cudillero. Fortunately the hotel arranged alternative transport.
Review 104:Its wonderful character and helpful staff. Lovely historic feel to the building (which is a converted old mansion), ornate rooms and pleasant grounds. Whilst there is no restaurant at the hotel it serves good fresh food for breakfast and there is a very good local restaurant serving hearty, tasty food just a short walk away. A very good local beach (which is a short drive away) was also recommended to us.
Review 105:Real shame they don't do dinner as local restaurants are not great.
Review 106:Wonderful house and bedrooms. Superb traditional breakfast of home made local and Spanish delicacies.
Review 107:My only complaint would be the sensor light that came on every time yougot up to go to the toilet.
Review 108:We loved everything about this place! The people who ran it were sofriendly & helpful, the breakfast was one of the best we had on our trip& the bedrooms were spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated & givenevery attention to detail. The sitting areas & gardens were delightful.A wonderful place , we would return without hesitation.
Review 109:Would have preferred a kingsize bed but only be ause we sleep in a super kingsize bed at home and a standard double felt very cosy!
Review 110:Beautifully decorated, nothing too much trouble and the home made breakfast including fantastic pastries was excellent.
Review 111:They should perhaps offer a simple dinner menu, in case some guests do not want to go out to dinner after a whole day driving.
Review 112:Very friendly staff, exceptional breakfast. We have been traveling all over Spain, France and Portugal and have not found a more delicious breakfast, all home-made. The rooms are comfortable, it is like staying at a friend's house. Can recommend staying at this small hotel.
Review 113:This is a beautiful house with masses of character and charm; qualitieswhich are amply reflected in the owners/staff. If you are worried aboutlanguage barriers - forget it - because the ladies of the house speakperfect English. The bedrooms are superb, many with adjoining livingrooms. There is a lift. The breakfasts are excellent, with much home-made fare. Comfortable hotel, friendly and helpful people. What more canyou ask for?
Review 114:We arrived during an usually warm time. Our room was stuffy, with no cross ventilationl, and no air cond.
Review 115:Beautiful building and grounds. Very helpful concierge staff. Wonderful breakfast, with eggs cooked to order, marvelous breads, cheeses and fruits.
