Reviews for Pensión Niagara
Review 1:Church bells until you find out they stop at midnight. Not much parking nearby.
Review 2:The quirkiness and layout of the hotel were great. Old movie themes throughout and a real Hispanic feel, plus he runs a cinema! Very nice owner, super friendly. Rooms a good size. Bars and a couple of restaurants in next road.
Review 3:The innkeepers were kind and charming! The rooms were basic but very adequate! On a quaint street with a little church across the street! I will definitely return!
Review 4:Querky ,basic , owner lovely great Spanish village easy access to resorts with good bus service. Cafés restaurants bars Alfaz has it all as well as part of my heart as my family live there.
Review 5:It was difficult too find a way in with the car at first. The Hotel has 2 entrances front and back. Both closed on arrival, but ring bell. The room was small and no air con, no sleep, due to heat, there was a fan next to beds, but noisy. Builders working opposite, a bit noisy, but bearable. The owner promised a better room with air con next time.
Review 6:We liked the ambiance of the place, very 1920´s style with lots of memorabilia. It also had a Cinema with Classic Movies showing nightly. The town was interesting and pleasant with friendly mixed race people, mainly Spanish and Norwegians. The owner was very hospitable and helped with suitcases, speaks a little English. Good restaurants all within walking distance. Good base to travel to Albir, Altea, Benidorm, Guadalest, Algar. Christina Kristiansen, Spain
Review 7:friendliness and informality
Review 8:Really friendly and informal
Review 9:It's pretty shabby on outside, run-down looking and a huge clump of grass was growing in the window box of my bedroom. Lack of attention to detail - but because Pepe, the owner was so nice I could overlook the minus factors.
Review 10:The owner was really nice, friendly, kindly - and this made up for lack of service. I was the only guest and because it was out of season I think he was running the hotel himself. I would go back. There is an adjoining cinema, owned by hotel and I was invited to go to a film the one night. Niagara is a film with Marlyn Monroe - the hotel theme is Art Deco and the films of that era.
Review 11:Bit awkward entry as parked 'out front' only to discover at thetime we arrived, mid afternoon, we had to walk right around the back togain entry. Luckily we'd left our bags in the car and Jose openedthe front door for us to get them in that way. The front door does openaround 6pm but be aware you may need to take note of the sign pointingthe way around the back and not at the doorbell as we first thought. Theclock does indeed strike every fifteen minutes till midnight, and therewas a barking dog late afternoon in the next building. Suggest yourequest a room the opposite side of the building from upstairs receptionarea. We were in 202.
Review 12:All very Spanish, owner indeed welcoming and chatty once the ice wasbroken and a few Spanish exchanges had taken place. A great overnightstay, handy for Benidorm Palace as only a ten euro taxi ride each wayand couldn't find a Benidorm hotel for one night, most had minimumof two. Movie theme interesting-we had Paper Moon.
Review 13:Breakfast was very basic, but not a problem. Cafe Bombon was brilliant.
Review 14:Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Always willing to help, andavailable 24 hours if you needed assistance. Always got usefulinformation, and helped me with my Spanish.
Review 15:Not made welcome..Room dirty. No beer, no white wine. No breakfast. Key did not open outside doors. 50.00 euros left with key at reception in the morning. E-mail received, that we have not paid.
Review 16:Nothing
Review 17:The town clock stikes every 15 mins from 7am to midnight!
