Reviews for Hotel-Pension Am Schwanenteich

Review 1:The hotel is within walking distance of Martin Luther Reformation sights and events. A couple of nights there was much noise on the street below most likely from neighbors. Not sure if this is consistent though. Tiny rooms.

Review 2:The hotel, rooms, and breakfast rooms are very clean and neat.nice breakfast.

Review 3:The town was just wonderful and with all the cultural heritage. everything is close by including the accommodation. I just stayed one night but it was everything I had hoped for. Staff were good and helpful.

Review 4:Conveniently located, we were able to walk to all the various sites in Lutherstadt-Wittenburg. The hotel offers a great breakfast and also hosts a very good restaurant.

Review 5:The traffic is loud.

Review 6:The room was large and had a nice bathroom. FYI - Not sure what all of the rooms are like but we had a double room but our beds were twins and separate. The workers were all very nice and friendly.

Review 7:We had booked a family room with two bedrooms. We even took a roundabout way just because of that. When we came in the evening "our" room was not available so they gave us a doubleroom with a tiny sofabed (not able to fit two children age 13 and 9). We were offered a free doubleroom which was very cold. In the morning there where another staff who made us pay for both the doublerooms and said that she had have nothing to do with this. The rooms where also very dated and I wouldn´t recommend it at all. There are much nicer hotels close by.

Review 8:No dinner available, some celebration party ooccupied whole restaurant. The worst issue was that even stated in document that breakfast is served since 7:00 nothing like this has happened. Much worst, the lift had not go down, I had been locked at room's floor without chance to get out. Finaly at 7:45 I tried an emergency exit and with knocking to the restaurant door I found a staff lady. She was very kind, gave me fast breakfast and nice coffee, she told me that she was informed that breakfest is served since 8:00. I hurried a lot and becouse of hotel managment mistake I lost one hour. As minimum I should be informed at evening in reception, in such case I would omitt breakfast and went out at 6.00 or sooner.

Review 9:location

Review 10:The lack of parking. You can park your car on a public parking lot at the Mal - distance approx. 350 m. Hotel gives parking card but it does not work what causes problems with entry and exit by car. The staff barely knows English. Additional fee for accommodation with a dog.

Review 11:Good location on the border of the historical part of the city (3 minutes walk). Good breakfast. Large bathroom. Restaurant on site.

Review 12:Parking for our motorcycles. It would be better if they had parking at the side of the hotel. They gave use good advice where to leave the bikes and we really appreciated their help.

Review 13:Very friendly and attentive staff. Dinner bed and breakfast rate very good. Dinner very good, breakfast lovely.

Review 14:I did not find the staff very friendly. I apologized that our German wasn't very good but we could not find anyone who spoke English. When traveling with children and having questions about parking and meal times etc. this became a bit challenging. I was hoping to find written information in the room in English, but no! I don't think the language barrier would have been a problem if I had felt encouraged with a friendly smile or warm gesture but, except for a very nice staff member who served the breakfast, we felt a bit isolated and lost. It pains me to write this because overall the hotel was fine but we were just really in need of some smiling faces and encouragement!

Review 15:The location to Wittenberg is great. We stayed for 3 days and very quickly learned our way around. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic - great presentation and delicious food.

Review 16:The restaurant was one of the best in Wittenberg. The hotel was well placed, away from the crowds and noise and yet convenient for the centre

Review 17:A nice friendly clean place to stay in this beautiful town. I wish we had had more time here.

Review 18:complicated internet that doesn't work on upper-most floors in family rooms.

Review 19:close to town, friendly staff

Review 20:internet did not work on last night- or on ;last morning

Review 21:very friendly and courtous staff. very clean. large room- large bathroom

Review 22:WiFi connection was not super good in rooms.

Review 23:Rooms were clean and updated.

Review 24:Great restaurant, friendly staff and very comfortable interconnecting family room

Review 25:The lift only went so far!!

Review 26:Enjoyed a large room with excellent cooling as well as friendly and helpful staff.

Review 27:alles o.k.

Review 28:Our room was a bit small.

Review 29:The staff were excellent, the breakfast good. The restaurant accommodated my need for a plate of mixed vegetables with a very generous serving and variety.

Review 30:The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. The only English TV channel was CNN. One of the women (with very short black hair and large black glasses) who worked at the front desk during the day and on the evening wait staff was very rude. I tried to eat in the hotel restaurant on my first night and she actually made me feel unwanted --and I was a guest at the hotel. So, I walked out and went to a city restaurant instead. I've never had that happen ANYWHERE!! (The rest of the hotel staff were very hospitable.)

Review 31:The breakfast and the breakfast staff. The room itself was very nice, especially the bathroom. The location was an easy walking distance to the old city.

Review 32:We had two rooms connected by a hallway-a double and triple room and each had a bathroom. Very roomy and comfortable. Our dinner in the restaurant was one of the highlights of our trip. Breakfast was also good. You could walk to the sights in Wittenburg.

Review 33:Parking was confusing so we wound up parking in a regular outside lot without the discount. Sunday morning breakfast was between 07-0900 -- way too early especially on a cold, rainy Sunday. The town was undergoing major renovations on both churches so the trip was disheartening as well.

Review 34:Good location, great breakfast selection, good food at the restaurant in the evening, nice desk clerks

Review 35:No free internet access. I hope they will provide this soon.

Review 36:Clean and comfortable rooms incl. view to the Schlosskirche (at least in our room). Breakfeast was good. Overall a very good impression and can recommend it.

Review 37:why should I say, when I would like to have breakfast one day before? I thought it would be a hotel and I can have breakfast any time between 7 and 11?!

Review 38:location of the Hotel - near the old town

Review 39:The floor in my room shook, the walls are paper-thin, I could hear neighbours shower. The front door slams without any damper, and each time my room right above (Nr.15) shook. Surely, it would be easy to affix some damper!

Review 40:Friendly staff, good location close to the centre. Everything looked clean and well maintained.

Review 41:Breakfast was adequate but not great; a bit limited in its selections

Review 42:Excellent location, 50 feet from a bus stop with direct connection to the train station, 10 minute walk to the old city; very clean and well maintained property

Review 43:One of the staff seems to have "attitude problems", which can make a stay less happy than it would otherwise be.

Review 44:Comfortable room, good cooking, excellent position for tourists.

Review 45:Although we specified that we were a family and requested 2 rooms closeby, my children were given a room quite a long distance from mine and ona different level of the hotel. As they are older this was not adisaster, but I was uncomfortable not being able to monitor their noisefor the comfort of other guests, and I would have been furious if I hadyounger children.

Review 46:The breakfast was included in the room rate and was a substantial buffetwith a good selection. The staff (who did not speak English at all) werevery friendly. Car parking was close by and easy. My room was very small- my children were given a much bigger room so it is clear that thestandard of room varies a lot in this hotel.

Review 47:nothing to not like!

Review 48:Friendly staff were patient with my inability to speak much German. The two rooms were cheerful and very clean. The air conditioning was much appreciated because it was warm while we visited. Restaurant had very good dinners and the included breakfast was nice. The staff was helpful in calling taxis etc.

Review 49:Breakfast was a bit basic but more than acceptable

Review 50:Good location; less than a ten-minute walk to the major sites Clean and comfortable Was not charged for WIFI; if charged, it would only have been 1 Euro

Review 51:No private parking. Public slots available close by.

Review 52:Super friendly owners and staff in this small family nostalgic proved to be a winner. Good breakfast and excellent evening meal. Charming.a

Review 53:I liked everything about this excellent hotel, with its charming restaurant, which serves exquisite, traditional, regional food. Wittenberg is one of the most beautiful and most interesting towns I have ever visited and this lovely hotel is right in the heart of it.

Review 54:Odd floor layout, necessitating use of lift since the stairs did not reach the reception floor.

Review 55:The staff could not have been more helpful, arranging to store my groceries in the fridge. The breakfast was superb.

Review 56:I didn't like having to pay for wifi, but this was not a very big problem.

Review 57:Our room was small but had everything that we needed. Everything was scrupulously clean. We were very comfortable. The breakfast had a wonderful variety - eggs, meats, cheese, yogurt, cereals and a great variety of breads, plus fresh fruit. It was the best breakfast we had in 2 weeks of travel in Italy and Germany. The hotel is on a quiet side street very near all the historic sites, very convenient to everything.

Review 58:From Altstadt train station you should take a taxi or bus if you have heavy luggage; the old town was not made for wheeled luggage. In my case, it would have been better to stay neat the train station.

Review 59:Very comfortable and clean, at a walking distance of all historical places in Lutherstadt Wittenberg. Excellent value for the money. Breakfast was very good and staff very friendly. Nice Luther themed decorations in the walls.

Review 60:This is an excellent place to spend a night in Wittenburg. We really like the way the hotel has been fitted out. Service was excellent. Would certainly stay again. We had to pay for internet but the price was reasonable and it worked well.

Review 61:Though the beds were new, they could have more comfortable mattresses and pillows. A good night's sleep makes a big difference when on a touring-holiday. However, we would re-book with them tomorrow if we were heading back there.

Review 62:We have 5 young children and we stayed in the "family room." The price was good, the staff was friendly and we were 5 minutes walk from the center of town. The bathrooms were all new tile and the decor was up to date. We would definitely stay there again on our next tour of Wittenberg.

Review 63:Paying for internet access wasn't the end of the world, but free wifiwould have been a plus. Also, the laundry services is expensive! You arecharged for each item of clothing - we opted to rinse a few things outin the sink, dry them on the towel racks, and wait it out.

Review 64:Hotel-Pension Am Schwanenteich is a short taxi-ride away from the trainstation and very close to all the major sights in Wittenberg. Our roomwas clean and bright with good ventilation from the windows. The roomalso had a wall air conditioning unit, which we used at night to keepthe room a steady temperature. Breakfast offered a very nice array ofchoices - bread and rolls, meats, cheeses, fruit, eggs, cakes, etc. Thestaff was generally helpful, but communicating would have been tricky ifI didn't speak a little German.

Review 65:There is no lift in the hotel.

Review 66:The hotel is very well located close to the main street, but reasonably quiet during the night. The streets close to the hotel were under renovation making it a bit difficult to find the hotel. We were two couples, and got two large rooms which were clean and nice. The breakfast was good.

Review 67:The room was bright and comfortable. The air-conditioner was great! The hotel is convenient to city attractions.

Review 68:Nothing

Review 69:friendlyness of staff and all of the facilities.

Review 70:Free internet limited to two hours

Review 71:Nice small hotel, friendly people, good breakfast

Review 72:The helpsome friendly atmosphere.

Review 73:No available parking. Dinner meat was tough. Room was small.

Review 74:Close to historic sights. Breakfast was fine. Room was clean.

Review 75:No English-language TV channel

Review 76:Large hotel room Quiet room Good breakfast Near the town centre Friendly staff

Review 77:Small and very hot room, no A/C, no bedside tables

Review 78:Location, friendly staff, good breakfast

Review 79:Breakfast-could be better but it was ok.

Review 80:The staff, the food at the restaurant, the location.

Review 81:Clean attractvely modern Within easy walking distance of the town centre Friendly and helpful staff There is public parking in the vicinity.

Review 82:Everything! Location, comfort, breakfast, personel!

Review 83:The family room was perfect for the four of us.

Review 84:Comfort, clean

Review 85:No free wi-fi.

Review 86:Nice, clean. Small room, but modern.

Review 87:The dinner was delicious and the young lady serving it friendly and helpful.

Review 88:The rooms were bright and clean.

Review 89:A little difficult to find

Review 90:Comfortable
