Located high above Lake Traun and surrounded by the summits of the Höllengebirge mountains, the Berggasthof Edelweiss offers a breathtaking view of the Salzkammergut.
Family-run for 3 generations, this mountain inn enjoys a unique location on one of the Salzkammerguts most beautiful panoramic plateaus. The rooms are lovingly and individually furnished in an alpine style.
The Berggasthof Edelweiss combines a wonderfully quiet and green location on the 5,250 ft Feuerkogel mountain with modern comfort. The skiing and hiking area starts right at the doorstep. A ski school, ski rental and mountain guides can be reached in a 3 minute walk.
Please note that the inn can only be reached by cable car (until 5pm).

Review 2：I am living in a wooden room with very traditional decoration! extremely special experience for an Asian people! The food is food, the service is good, the location is good!

Review 3：Amazing location, top of the world views and paradise landscapes. Non smoking hotel, extremely clean. 5-star service and food (huge breakfast, all day warm kitchen, I particularly liked the grilled trout from the lake and kaiserschmarl). The family and staff are great and make you feel like home. Special thanks to Martin and the young lady serving the breakfast. I will definitely recommend the place and go back to it again.

Review 4：I followed the comments from booking.com where the average marks was 9.4!!! I cannot confirm it since the pension was average. The food was good but nothing incredible. The wine was really disappointing in comparison with the past reviews. What really surprised me is that I had to pay 20 euro extra for my little daughter (2 years old) per night + 15 for her bed. My daughter paid then 55 euro against 96 for each of us. This rate applies for children between 0-3 years!!!!. This is the first time someone charged for my daughter (beside the over price for the extra bed).

The Fine Print

Please note that the Berggasthof Edelweiss can only be reached via the Feuerkogel Cable Car. The first ascent is at 08:30, the last is at 17:00 (every 30 minutes in between).Please note that the last cable car runs at 17:00. It is not possible to reach or leave the inn after 17:00. An ascent or descent on the hiking trail (no. 820) takes 3 hours and requires sturdy shoes.
