Reviews for Hotel Spa Ciudad de Astorga

Review 1:The room was quite hot (Nov) and we could not easily cool it. The shower leaked a significant amount and we used towels to keep the floor dry.

Review 2:Lovely good sized room which looked lovely on arrival - marble and timber floors. The hotel is really well located across from the Cathedral.

Review 3:No issues, snack/food availability not always fitting schedule...but siesta timing is everything

Review 4:Clean room with all conveniences, decent location to attractions ( Gaudi, Cathedral,Camino )

Review 5:Poorly designed large bathroom with only a shower and no rails to hang towels anywhere. Daft window in side wall of bathroom, presumably to allow view of TV when sat on wc? Silly (and unnecessary?) disabled lift from attached carpark down into hotel reception.

Review 6:Beautiful hotel with beautiful rooms and external balcony. Very quiet and peaceful. Parking on site. Pins available to buy of the local football club: Atletico Astorga.

Review 7:Downsides: the metal light blocker would not go up in 1/2 windows, made room a bit cell like which is not acceptable at this price point. Room didn't have much personality

Review 8:Great location, spa is a dream and you reserve a time for your own use! .

Review 9:Car Parking cannot be reserved and is limited. However, we did manage to get a space ourselves. Breakfast was. It included and is quite expensive if you wanted the buffet.

Review 10:The receptionist was very helpful and the room was a high standard with great facilities. Very comfortable. Close to the main things to see in Astorga.

Review 11:The people at the front desk weren't very welcoming when we checked in. The morning crew upon check out were very nice.

Review 12:So clean, well decorated, and had a great location. The beds and bedding were vey nice. The shower was divine. Loved our stay here. Nice break from the dirt on the camino.

Review 13:The food in the adjacent Bar / Restaurant was poor and expensive (charged €1.80 for bread we did not order). Better options for food around Plaza Mayor. However, the accommodation itself was great!

Review 14:Well-located hotel, with large, nicely decorated rooms. Friendly staff.

Review 15:Bedding duvet was way too heavy, about 10 TOG, no lighter option in room. Air con was switched off because still "winter". Only window light proofing was the motorised shutter so unable to use window for ventilation. Made sleeping uncomfortable. Minor quibble was lack of parking - only 4 spaces - even though described as "parking on site". Street parking charged from 10 am, but fortunately was free on Sat pm and all Sunday.

Review 16:Superb location for exploration of Astorga on foot

Review 17:Breakfast is poor value for money Our superior room was big, but didn't have a balcony. Many of the standard rooms do

Review 18:Modern clean rooms Balconies on most standard rooms Location near cathedral

Review 19:Nothing

Review 20:Location is excellent - close to the cathedral and episcopal palace. Very helpful staff and quiet place to stay. Bar next door is excellent for tapas and wine.

Review 21:Although the front part of the hotel is a lovely old town house, most of the accommodation is at the back in a brand new block with spacious and well-furnished rooms. The hotel is very central.

Review 22:I got bitten by sth at night and went to the reception to show the bites (25!!!) and ask for help, yet the receptionist did not take care about me at all. I found out it was bed bugs a few hours after leaving the hotel and got the disinfection procedure at the Guacelmo Albergue in Rabanal. They also called the Hotel Spa to inform them about my case and asked to disinfect the room. Then I wrote to the hotel asking politely what is the claim procedure in cases like mine and they replied that it did not happen at their hotel (hmmm, where else could it happen when I woke up with the bites???) and then even threatened with legal action if I share this in the net with the travelling community. Looks like you can be treated much better by a donativo albergue than a 4-star hotel... Shame... Therefore I rated staff with "poor".

Review 23:The rooms are absolutely lovely, the beds extremely comfy and the location is just great.

Review 24:We couldn't find fault with this hotel.

Review 25:Stayed here last April on last night of Camino trip. Very pleased with hotel so decided to return as we started next leg of our Camino trip in September/ October. As it was quite late when we arrived we retired for the night rather quickly. Staff were very helpful. Perfect choice as a treat when doing the Camino. Comfort & cleanliness get top marks.

Review 26:The extra charge to use the Spa. We had stayed at a spa hotel in Leon and it had been included in the price. I was disappointed that they wanted more money to use this facility.

Review 27:The size of the room and the fact that we had a large window which we could open to get fresh air. We had a very quiet room. We thought everything was beautiful.

Review 28:We were pilgrims and needed laundry facilities but there were none. It would help enormously if the hotel could make a washing machine and dryer available.

Review 29:Very quiet and restful.

Review 30:Horrible wifi from the room. I had to go down to lobby to use it.

Review 31:Clean, nice backyard, great service by our maid but got some attitute problem from a front staff. Overall it was a comfortable stay.

Review 32:For top dollar received the smallest room I have ever seen. Single room size with double bed jammed in. The bathroom was so small had to squeeze in around sink. To say nothing about the unintelligible shower controls and the room safe that would not work. Not the stuff of a premier grade hotel.

Review 33:Central location. Nice small garden.

Review 34:Walked 50k on the camino de Santiago to Astroga so this place was like heaven to me! The beds were amazing and the staff was very friendly and helpful! Nothing bad to say about it!

Review 35:On arrival our room had a soiled toilet and the fridge in our friends' room wasn't working. Bathroom was cleaned thoroughly once we raised the issue though.

Review 36:Spacious and in a good location.

Review 37:There was a man that looked like a supervisor or the owner of the hotel who kept interrupting the reception when they were serving us. And he didn't explain anything to us. It was really rude. I didn't expect a 4 stars hotel with a such performance.

Review 38:Very busy place to park, and our car did not fit in the hotel car park. Can't blame the hotel for that dough.

Review 39:Everything. In the middle of the city Center with all the amenities around.

Review 40:It was difficult getting a good signal in the room for internet and telephone calls.

Review 41:The overall look and feel of the room was exquisite! The bed was comfy, and the view to the patio was an added treat.

Review 42:Lift from garage was not working. Exit button not clearly marked, no emergency call button or phone

Review 43:Beautiful facility. Excellent location. Spacious room

Review 44:The location was perfect and the room was fantastic.

Review 45:The parking was somewhat awkward with a mid-size car.

Review 46:Room and bed were very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 47:Nothing here.

Review 48:Beautiful hotel. Lovely location.

Review 49:Lovely small city on the Camino

Review 50:Everything - fairly luxurious.

Review 51:Perfect location for Astorga and the Camino. Very nice room and bathroom. Amazing tub and shower

Review 53:Excellent Location,

Review 54:Jacuzzi was cold!

Review 55:Beautiful hotel well decorated

Review 56:Indifference of the concierge

Review 57:Loved the rooms and shower

Review 58:Location, eating area on way in

Review 59:All was good and good value for money

Review 60:Good size room and good location for a stop on the Camino.

Review 61:The lift from/to the garage was something borrowed from the Krypton factor

Review 62:Has a great bar

Review 63:Wasn't clear that spa would be extra money

Review 64:Location and room

Review 65:Qualità, confort, design, kindness of the staff, great value for the money

Review 66:Spa is not included in hotel price

Review 67:Very comfortable rooms and perfect location in front of the Gaudi Palace and Catedral

Review 68:Having to walk past the hot open kitchen area to get to our room on floor 4

Review 69:Brilliant location

Review 70:Location, Staff, hotel comfort

Review 71:The cost to go swimming.

Review 72:Beautiful hotel, peaceful and quiet.

Review 73:Too modern.

Review 74:Locstion

Review 75:Use of Spa pool should be included in rate and not be at an additional cost

Review 76:Very modern clean well furnished rooms?

Review 77:Adjoining bar, bedroom/bathroom and the staff both in the hotel and the adjoining bar.

Review 78:Everything!

Review 79:Spa should be included in the hotel price

Review 80:Situation and modern facilities

Review 81:Nice bar and restaurant.

Review 82:Fish in the restaurant not fresh. Breakfast rather poor.

Review 83:Excellent rooms. Friendly and helpfull staff. Good price/qualify.

Review 84:Having to pay €12 to use the spa pool in addition to €50 for the room only... Too expensive

Review 85:Hotel very clean and comfortable

Review 86:Very nice facility - triple room perfect. Location is the best. Very nice bathroom. Perfect location if walking the Camino

Review 87:Everything.

Review 88:Best location in town. Great restaurant next door. Secure parking.

Review 89:Great location, excellent rooms and friendly professional staff. Would definitely stay there again.

Review 90:Faulty fire alarm went off twice but handled well by staff

Review 91:Great location, easy to get to markets and Gaudi museum, bath, very large bed

Review 92:Wonderful place with wonderful people

Review 93:Everything

Review 94:Spa access is an extra charge and you are time limited

Review 95:Great location!

Review 96:Their breakfast let them down

Review 97:Stylish and comfortable rooms

Review 98:Great Resturant

Review 99:Everything.. The room, the spa, the food.. Perfect hotel

Review 100:Location in town helpful staff

Review 101:Bad design in general. Breakfast was too expensive

Review 102:The spa was a + (even if paid as extra) for me who's walking the camino

Review 103:I was disappointed that clients must pay an extra 15 euros to use the spa area. This seems pretty danged greedy to me but :::shrug::: I mean it's not even a real spa. No services likesssage are offered. We declined.

Review 104:Everything in the hotel was awesome

Review 105:Need an advanced degree to figure out shower controls.

Review 106:Spa facilities were nice, but at an extra price which might be a bit much for most pilgrims on the Camino. Excellent shower, once we figured out the controls.

Review 107:Nothing!

Review 108:Art nouveau bar and restaurant are all that remain of former hotel. Two years ago the new hotel opened. State of art rooms especially bathrooms. Grand Designs!

Review 109:simply perfect luxury hotel for a super affordable price. 30 seconds walking from the cathedral...also equipped to park bikes for the camino de santiago. highly recommended!

Review 110:Everything was great and especially the ability to communicate. The staff was fluent in German and made me and my bicycle very welcome. This hotel was among the best of fourteen I stayed in one my trip

Review 111:room a bit packed, bathroom taps initially a bit complicated to operate yet comfortable and neat

Review 112:nice bar with "free" tapas with each drink, attentive staff

Review 113:All fab

Review 114:Loved everything about this delightful Hotel, very reasonably priced, modern and edgy decor, super comfy beds, friendly staff, right on Camino... tastefully decorated and comfortable Boutique Hotel. Would highly recommend.

Review 115:What is the purpose of clear ,glass window from bedroom to bathroom?

Review 116:Friendly& helpful staff. Very nice, comfortable accommodation.Food also very good. Lots of locals enjoying food & drink here.

Review 117:The (menu) hot and cold tapas on Thursdays are really only toasts, and at 2.40 € each overpriced in comparision with what you can get elsewhere.

Review 118:The confort, balcony overlooking the garden, on-site secure parking, the location, all great. I would stay here again.

Review 119:Poor views from bedroom. Mini bar very poorly stocked. No whiskey, gin or vodka

Review 120:Bed, bathroom, champagne and flowers at short notice. Staff helpful and very clean and very central.

Review 121:Just a small thing. The shower on the room was complicated to understand, but overall the hotel was fantastic

Review 122:Very good location close to all the local atraction. Very nice and helpfull staff
