Reviews for Luther-Hotel Wittenberg

Review 1:Wonderful historic city. Hotel perfectly situated to enjoy the city center and its great history. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Great breakfast.

Review 2:Very good town hotel well situated for the Elbe Cycle Route and easy walking distance to the old town centre. secure cycle storage in underground car park, pleasant, helpful staff and good breakfast.

Review 3:Wifi not strong in room -- only had one little corner that it worked. No air conditioning, but fans were available. Probably not usually a problem but we were there during "heatwave."

Review 4:Staff very friendly, central location, easy walk to everything. Wittenberg is beautiful little town. Room nice and big. Excellent housekeeping staff. Has rental bikes available. Restaurant staff very friendly. Nice and quiet place to stay! Facilities a bit on older side, but very nicely kept.

Review 5:Breakfast chaotic with people waiting around for tables to be cleared and laid while lots of empty tables at other end of room were not laid. Why not jusy lay a lot more to start with? Difficult to get coffee even there were only 8 tables in use and 4 people serving. Wifi slow. Pillows very thin.

Review 6:Good central location, big room, good selection of tv channels. Goood choice of food at breakfast. Easy check in and out.

Review 7:It s summer, as usual , there isn t air conditionair, and the room was very hot at all day, despite the fan!

Review 8:Great location, room excelente size, good bath! The bier served at the bar was really cold and delicius!

Review 9:The reverse side of the perfect order: It was not possible to arrange for a late checkout. There was however no problem leaving our rather bulky luggage (motorbike gear) for a few hours and take a walk in the city.

Review 10:Comfortable, absolutely clean, very good location, perfect order, parking garage.

Review 11:My room, located in the front of the hotel was on a noisy street. Only one person per room can use WiFi at a time.

Review 12:The location is excellent. Right in the historical part of the town, near restaurants . Breakfast is included and delicious!

Review 13:Wife and I have not adapted to using duvets without an extra sheetbetween the mattress sheet and the duvet. We stayed in approx 25hotels in Europe on this trip. When requested, 24 supplied a sheet oeadequate substitute. Clerk on duty when we checked in around 7 pmreplied to repeated requests that nothing could be done. Why not ifthe other 24 could?

Review 14:Location

Review 15:Room was god size and full bath with tub was a nice extra. The sauna was great and uncrowned. Breakfast was best on our trip. Huge variety from eggs with cheese to fresh breads and traditional meats and salads.

Review 16:Horrible pillows! Had to ask for extras and even then they were useless. Avoid street side rooms, dreadfully noisy cafe on the corner kept us awake.

Review 17:Very friendly, every possible facilityyou could want, including sauna. Well organised for tourists.

Review 18:My twin bed needed a little thicker mattress pad. Seemed a bit hard.. Some of the receptionists need to learn English a little better, and know basic features re the city like how many Lucas Cranach houses are there, really, and why are they called "Hauser" (plural) in the first place? Fortunately I knew enough German to get by, but some tourists may not!

Review 19:Location really nice - wonderful sauna facility! Lovely breakfast spread and thank u for accommodating apecial gluten-free bread request! The best!

Review 20:Not enough parking facilities although extremely expensive. Always full. The location of the hotel is not in a safe area to leave your private car parked outside, meaning that the only solution is to park in the shopping centre which is quite a distance from the hotel. If you travel by car, book another hotel closer to the shopping centre Arsenal.

Review 21:Good breakfast

Review 22:Not air-conditioned, limited ability to open window.

Review 23:This hotel has a very friendly and helpful staff, perfect location in the old city, and a wonderful buffet breakfast. It is a terrific hotel and a really great value. I highly recommend it.

Review 24:The pillow was next to non-existant, a firmer one is needed. A light blanket would have helped a lot, the single cover provided is just too heavy and hot for the summer

Review 25:Great staff, location and breakfast. Very clean and quiet.

Review 26:Only one of us could log onto the wifi at a time.

Review 27:Love the Luther Hotel. Second time staying here. Great location, just three minutes' walk from the market square. Beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean. Great breakfasts.

Review 28:Although it advertised wi-fi we couldn't access it in the room. The breakfast was good but the hot buffet was a little dry and not much available. The bill showed breakfast as separate item. We would have been much happier paying less and not having breakfast. It was a very hot night but there was no air conditioning. We had the window open and there was a lot of noise outside through the night.

Review 29:The luther statues and pictures were wonderful and the room was clean and fresh. It was great to have a big pot of coffee with breakfast.

Review 30:Lack of AC, not always nice staff, coffee to breakfast for extra fee, missing cleaning room day, expensive during melt festival

Review 31:Location, extended breakfast and check-out time during melt festival

Review 32:Wifi and the beds

Review 33:The staff was great, very friendly. The rooms where old looking. TV was very old and picture wasn't great. We were there during the World Cup so would have liked to have a better TV. Internet was really bad. It was non existent in the room itself and was extremely slow in the lobby area. My feeling is if you advertise wifi then it should at least work. The beds were very uncomfortable, basically like sleeping on boards. Everything's was very clean and the location was convenient.

Review 34:The internet signal is a little weak throughout the hotel but not a major problem.

Review 35:Great location. Short walk to castle church, State church and main piazza. Parking underneath hotel. Nice breakfast buffet.

Review 36:Location and staff were friendly and seemed genuinely pleased we were staying there. Really liked the Quiet Room. Good quality and value for money food. Excellent breakfast.

Review 37:A pleasant hotel in a quiet location not far from the town centre.

Review 38:N/A

Review 39:It was friendly, clean, quiet with excellent breakfast buffet. Would gladly recommend to a friend.

Review 40:poor wifi

Review 41:accessible to old city

Review 42:Nothing except maybe some air conditioning.

Review 43:Room Service Breakfast

Review 44:Breakfast was good and hotel was centrally located. Sauna was surprisingly good (though bit small).

Review 45:no aircon

Review 46:love the breakfast

Review 47:Great location. Excellent breakfast. Helpful and pleasant staff.

Review 48:No coffee maker at room. No aircondition.

Review 49:The location. Staff friendliness. The breakfast.

Review 50:The staff is so welcoming and supportive, anticipating needs. They respond quickly and in a very friendly way. Absolutely wonderful

Review 51:very nice extra baby bed great breakfast very late check-in without problems (after midnight)

Review 52:Tea/coffee making facility in the room would have been a bonus.

Review 53:The hotel enjoys a quite central location in Wittenberg and so is very convenient for visiting the historical sites. The breakfasts are superb - bacon, eggs, sausages, an individual teapot and a wide choice amongst tea varieties. (What more could an Engishman want?). The hotel has very efficient links with local taxi firms.

Review 54:Room was stark -- lacking in number of chairs. TV cable was German only and did not have international channels.

Review 55:Locfation, staff, cleanliness, comfort.

Review 56:We walked from the train station. More signs to the Center and hotel from the station would be helpful.

Review 57:Comfortable beds, well done breakfast with a nice variety of food, staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 58:The location is perfect, about half way between the church (95 theses) & the Lutherhouse. A quiet street, so not much road noise. Rooms were spacious & cozy, adequately dark at night for sleeping, and clean. The staff were very friendly (with the exception of one phone call I made to the desk to ask how to access the internet which seemed rudely received) and helpful. Breakfast was typical European, but was included in the room price, so of good value there. The hotel was practically empty when we stayed, so we didn't have much room noise at all. We would stay here again & recommend.

Review 59:Like the town, it is a bit tired and would like to see the place in five years time when I think it will be updated.

Review 60:The large room we had, and the staff were very pleasent and offering to please.

Review 61:Rather expensive. This applies also to breakfast, which could be rather a scrum. We prefer a smaller hotel really.

Review 62:Good location, comfortable room, useful car park.

Review 63:It would have been nice to be able to access internet in the room.

Review 64:The location was perfect. Everything we wanted to see was steps from the hotel. Breakfast was wonderful. There was a screen on one of our windows so we got the cool air at night without worrying about getting bit by a mosquito. Good size room. We would definitely stay there again.

Review 65:Friendly staff. Nice, comfortable room. Very clean. Good price - actually amazing price given the size of the room and general quality of the hotel. Didn't spend too much time there, so can't comment on all of their facilities.

Review 66:Our room was close to reception overlooking the hotel entrance. There were noisy people outside & at 2 am we had to call down from window informing them we were unable to sleep. After reporting this at reception, it did not happen again.

Review 67:We enjoyed our 4-night stay very much. Our purpose was to learn more of the reformation & Martin Luther. The hotel served all our needs while there. The food was good - nicely cooked meals which we enjoyed. The staff were more than willing to assist us throughout our stay.

Review 68:that they do not have internet in their rooms. this is very important and is really bad for this hotel. there should be free fast and reliable intenrnet in all rooms. tv also should have english channels.

Review 69:location & price

Review 70:No English station (like CNN) on the television.

Review 71:The location was great. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel was very clean. The room was good size and comfortable.

Review 72:We were told breakfast was included when checking into the hotel. In themorning, we were told it was not and had to pay.We requested to purchase items on display in the lobby and staff at the front desk denied us from purchasing the last items on display. On Easter morning, we were rudely awakened at 3:00 AM by loud shouting from drunken people just outside our rooms. The sound appeared to be outside the hotel, but was so loud it was unclear from where it was originating. This appears to be a recurring issue for others who have stayed at your hotel.

Review 73:The location was good and it was easy to find the hotel. For a Lutheran,it provided a nice experience when visiting Wittenberg to researchMartin Luther.

Review 74:Arriving late one night, we ate at the hotel restaurant--great meal & service! Rooms were very clean & adequate; great value for the money. Great front desk personnel.

Review 75:The breakfast was pricy @ 11 Euro for each morning (44 total), we stayedin a fairly new little autobahn hotel as a half way point to Wittenbergand their breakfast was nearly identical for 6.20 Euro each. The placeis pretty big so a Gym would be a good investment.

Review 76:Location, location location! It was smack dab in the center of all ofthe main "Luther" sites. 5-10 min walk to most places youwould want to see. The staff were incredibly kind, helpful & alwaysavailable. Although the room was dated it was spotlessly clean.

Review 77:Not a big deal, but the connection was rather slow. Another guest had tostay in the lobby because his wireless didn't work.

Review 78:Most importantly, the location was excellent - in the middle of the 2ends of the old town. It's slightly closer to the Lutherhaus andMelanchthonhaus than the Schloßkirche (castle church). As we were thereduring the non-peak season, we paid an unbeatable price and got upgradedto a bigger room. Staff were not calculative, gave us late check-out,extra bed and cot (as stated in policy on booking.com) withouthesitation. Room looked bare but actually had everything we needed.Didn't look lavish but clean and comfortable. Served its purpose toa tee. 7 euro for parking was not too exorbitant considering itslocation and underground private parking, although I can't imaginehow they could hold that many cars during the peak season.

Review 79:The hotel was clean and bright and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room had plenty of space and was clean. A good breakfast was included in the price. The location was good in terms of distance to the city centre.

Review 80:The bed was a bit soft for my taste. Also, the hotel was a slightly overdoing religion... prominent notes for morning prayers etc. Personally, I prefer religion to stay in church where I can ignore it.

Review 81:Very friendly staff, room large, comfy, and clean, great breakfast

Review 82:Room not ready on time but apart from this the room was large and comfortable and the staff helpful as was the manager who apologised for the delay. Hotel restaurant had only a limited menu but breakfast was excellent.

Review 83:Even though the hotel was not on the 'main drag', it was an easy walk to all points of interest.

Review 84:Being from the USA I was comforted by the excellent English speaking desk clerks. They help us schedule a taxi for our return to the train station and plan our agenda for Wittenberg. The accommodations were very nice and comfortable; actually quite roomy. The breakfast was superb. The price was a great value. I will recommend Luther-Hotel to my friends.

Review 85:I was a little disappointed that wifi only worked downstairs, otherwise no complaints.

Review 86:The Hotel is quite centrally located to everything. Staff were very friendly and some were able to speak a little english. Breakfast was plentiful.

Review 87:Some staff were "stiff" and functional rather than friendly but dealtwith what mattered. The dining room menu was very limited.Having to use the internet in the public area in the reception was not as helpful as many other places where there is an in-room service.

Review 88:The room was comfortable, the facilities were good for the price. It wasclose to the confrernece venue and the town was very interesting. Moststaff spoke good English, which was important as my German is verylimited. Breakfast was good - good choices, good quality and quantity. The conference event meal and reception held there was excellent - awide variety of food and very tasty.

Review 89:We had to wait for 45 minutes to get a table for breakfast as there wasa very large party in. I think the hotel could have foreseen thisproblem and opened up another room more quickly.

Review 90:A well run city hotel. We had a very good dinner in the restaurant, which at 25 euros per person, was good value.

Review 91:Dont know anything which is able to give me information about Luthrer

Review 100:We liked the spacious room and it was convenient to walk to the sites nearby. We could leave the car till the afternoon at the date we checked out.

Review 101:Excellent, central location to see the sights. Friendly and attentive staff. Nice breakfast. Comfortable, clean rooms. Comfortable lobby.

Review 102:Staff was DDR-like

Review 103:Large room, parking

Review 104:Rowdy people in the park across the street. Pay for parking!

Review 105:Nothing

Review 106:Very well positioned in the city. Good food and facilities

Review 107:Lite dyr parkering.

Review 108:Bra läge, fint rum, generös frukost,

Review 109:There was a huge amount of noise from street gangs throughout the night.

Review 110:The location is perfect. The accommodations are very nice.

Review 111:No airco, noisy rooms on the frontside

Review 112:Breakfast was good, rooms were clean, bathroom ok

Review 113:Rooms have no Air Conditioning.

Review 114:Breakfast buffet with large selection of cheese. Wi-fi in the room and public areas.

Review 115:A bit nondescript, but fine. Wifi dated, but ok. Did not see rooftop terrace.

Review 116:Excellent location

Review 117:Very good location. Room was clean and well layed out.

Review 118:very poor pillows ! no decoration of the rooms.

Review 119:very easy to find; location close to the historic old-town Clean and quiet, good service. big room.

Review 120:Clean, near the center, perfect value for Money and professionalism - i forgot my shirt after i left but they send it back to me per post.

Review 121:Perfect location to visit Luther's spots in Wittenberg.

Review 122:the Garage is too expensive and not necessary, the breakfast as well.

Review 123:the Situation in the City.

Review 124:it's easy to walk to all the sites from this location. also, fantastic price. Was very comfortable and clean.

Review 125:They should have heaten up the room before the guests arrive (freezing easter weekend)

Review 126:Absolutely no complain.

Review 127:That exactly how it has to be.
