Reviews for Pension Post Rüdesheim
Review 1:Bed and pllow were not comfortable. There was no shampoo and barthgel in bathroom.
Review 2:In the Center of old town. Old style hotel, like back to the past. Clean hotel.
Review 3:We had a wonderful breakfast in an elegant dining room overlooking the Rhine. Thomas was the epitome of a gracious host. We enjoyed an excellent dinner in the restaurant next door and visited Hildegard von Bingen's abbey.
Review 4:Great location and friendly informative staff. Breakfast was very good with lots of choices. Rooms were comfortable and faced a small lane so there was no street noise. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
Review 5:no wifi in room but a well organised hotspot at the foot of the stairs no range of pillows
Review 6:quiet, secure, classy upstairs room right on the Drosselgasse excellent breakfast and breakfast room excellent and helpull staff
Review 7:Due to the amount of trains running through Rüdesheim, it can be rather loud.
Review 8:Location perfect right in the heart of Rüdesheim. Extremely nice and friendly owners. Nice breakfast.
Review 9:I felt deceived by the description on booking.com. You referenced "sound proofing" which I interpreted as a quiet room. In fact sound proofing only happened if you wore the provided ear plugs, which I did. We had a back room and declined one overlooking the Rhine because of the proximity to the railway line. The trains are very frequent (more so at night) and really really noisy.
Review 10:The owner and staff were very friendly and the owner spoke English. We enjoyed the breakfasts. The room size was good.
Review 11:Our room overlooking the Rhine River was bright, spacious, and comfortable. The inn keepers were charming and very helpful. We could walk to the river cruise dock and all the restaurants easily.
Review 12:Nothing to report.
Review 13:Attentive owners to ensure guest comfort and enjoyable stay. Nothing is too much trouble for Thomas and his family, breakfast is plentiful and always served with a smile. Garage space is available
Review 14:It was exceptionally warm and with no aircon had to have the windows open a little which lead to hearing roadnoise and the occasional train! Earplugs were left on the pillow (nice touch) Would I stay here again?? ABSOLUTELY!!!
Review 15:Excellent location, Right on the front and near the Drosselgasse and excellent parking for our motorcycles, and very courteous helpful staff,
Review 16:Nothing at all.
Review 17:This was a great stay in a very central hotel, but still very quiet (we had a room towards the rear of the hotel) - the breakfast was great and the service was attentive and personal. This is an excellent family run hotel and the owners are very helpful and friendly. There is a gift shop attached to the foyer of the hotel and guests at the hotel also get a small discount when purchasing at the gift shop. The room was comfortable and clean, with a nice sized bathroom. We were able to sit outside our room, which was also very pleasant. I would heartily recommend this hotel to anyone.
Review 18:A huge room and a very good location and not paying to much, the breakfast was good with perfectly cooked boiled eggs, and the manager even parked my car for me.
Review 19:The reception closed at 7pm, even called twice to inform we will be late (actually arrived at 7:04). Cost me €20 talk thru my oversea phone to get my way in. Very noisy (the train outside, next room talking and snoring).
Review 20:Perfect location just next to the famous street ( good to have a dinner there)
Review 21:nothing
Review 22:Location by river and Drossellgasse.the lady owner parked my car in a secure covered area. She said her husband would bring car to hotel front when we leave ( but I managed okay.I think if I had said my car was dirty she would have said don,t worry my husband will clean it for you. What a charming couple running a lovely hotel.
Review 23:Excellent location in relation to centre of town. Railway line directly in front of hotel, but as it is on the Rhine River, with great views, and with double glazing windows, this was not a problem with regard to noise. Staff excellent and helpful
Review 24:Too bad the hotel will be closing for good in September.
Review 25:Location overlooking the Schluchsee. You want the Wow factor you got it. Great tour of the faciility and amenities upon arrival.
Review 26:The hotel is located right next to a pub which has live music. We were unable to get to sleep until after 0100 hours until it had stopped. Not my idea of a peaceful holiday!
Review 27:The staff were very friendly and it was in a prime location.
Review 28:Slightly disappointed with breakfast, you didn't help yourself but were served with plate of meat/cheese, boiled egg and coffee. Possibly the least enjoyed breakfast in all our travels down the Rhine.
Review 29:we had a room overlooking the river and although there was a railway outside the rooms must be soundproofed because there was hardly any noise.. just down from the KD boat stop, we passed the hotel on the way down from Boppard and could see which way to go. On the end of the main street where all the beer gardens/restaurants are. We loved the ride over the vineyards in cable car to the monument on the top of hill. Super views from the top. Hotel room was very clean and comfortable and we really loved the location.
Review 30:Next to the railway and no air-con, need to open the window to sleep though very noisy whenever a train passed by. Poor wifi signal in the room.
Review 31:location, next to Drosselgasse; spacious room with view of the Rhein; good breakfast
Review 32:In the middle of Summer the floor heating in the bathroom was uncomfortably warm. We slept with the window open despite the Saturday night frivolity. We were so tired the noise did not disturb us.
Review 33:Location, staff friendly and helpful. We arrived after close of reception. We notified them beforehand and they waited. We didn't feel rushed even though we made their day extended. Ear plugs supplied but not needed. Some may find the neighbouring hotel and trains noisy. Close to KD Ferry terminal and train station.
Review 34:I have visited Rudeshiem on Rhine several times on each occasion lodging at the Oension Post. I still find the town magical and attractive.
Review 35:A return visit to meet Thomas and his family we were greeted in the usual welcoming manner where nothing is too much trouble for them. Do not be put off by the accommodation being situated above a shop in no way does this distract from the hotels comfort.
Review 36:Very friendly relaxed atmosphere. Owner & staff all helpful and pleasant. Great location. Good breakfast. Rooms were well maintained and cleaned daily. Would be happy to return to again.
Review 37:The hotel was close to the railway. But on the other hand also very close to all tourist attractions. And almost all hotels in Rudesheim are close to the railway.
Review 38:Very service minded staff. Felt really welcome.
Review 39:- all was fine
Review 40:- spacious rooms - tasty breakfast - great location, near the shopping street, the lift and the quai for the boats - really great service, friendly and helpful staff
Review 41:If you are not a good sleeper, ear plugs are a must. The position is very busy and noisy, with a bar next door.
Review 42:Host was very friendly, happy to give us access to our room early, spoke very good English. Position in the centre of town is very convenient for shopping, station and river. Very nicely presented room which was a good size,
Review 43:Trains were noisy at night but that would apply to most properties in Rudesheim. Ear plugs worked well enough though!
Review 44:Very friendly and helpful host. The location was good.
Review 45:Be aware properties all along Rudesheim's frontage share both a wonderful panorama of the Rhine and a very busy passenger & freight railway line. Those trains rumble past day and night.
Review 46:Central location and value for money. Staff very courteous
Review 47:If you are going to visit the excellent mechanical music museum, it is just 1 street from the hotel. The boat dock is across the street. The train station is a short walk away.
Review 48:Not so much didn't like as noise should always be expected in an altstadt but visitors should be aware that there is a lot of late evening pedestrian traffic along Drosselgasse
Review 49:Helpful staff, safe and indoor bicycle parking. Location at the end of Drosselgasse.
Review 50:Just a hint, it is next door to a restaurant with live entertainment. It was not bad and did not go on to the wee hours of the morning, but if you have a low tolerance to loud music it could bother you.
Review 51:Perfect host. Great breakfast. Met our needs and expectations fully. Of the five places we stayed on our vacation this was the BEST!
Review 52:Internet area was dark and not comfortable to use.. It would be nice to have a small table and better lighting. No soap in the shower.
Review 53:Staff is very friendly. Gift shop has nice prices.
Review 54:Central location with short walk from train station. The whole staff were so welcoming and they could not do enough for us.They always greeted us with a smile. The breakfast was plentiful & delicious. The room was spacious & comfortable.
Review 55:It didn’t really bother me but the train line ran directly opposite and the trains were rather loud coming through every hour or so.
Review 56:The room was wonderfully clean, bright with crisp white bed linen, a view facing the Rhine River and a very comfortable bed. In the morning a sumptuous and delicious breakfast was served and guests were waited on by one of the hosts in a lovely breakfast room.
Review 57:I would have preferred soap and shampoo to be made available in the bathtub/ bathroom.
Review 58:The owners were very friendly and even offered to park our car for us and helped us with our luggage. The breakfast in the morning was wonderful.
Review 59:If you are a light sleeper, you may want to ask for a room on the side of the hotel. Our room was facing the busy Rhine river with river boats and trains, but for us any noise was a small trade-off for the wonderful views, and my husband said he slept just fine.
Review 60:My husband and I had a one-night stay at Pension Post Rudesheim in May. It was a perfect location in town -- right next to the Drosselgasse (pedestrian street). The proprietors were very friendly and eager to please, and Thomas spoke excellent English. They provided a free parking space for our car, and breakfast the next morning was delightful in their very cozy breakfast room facing the Rhine. Rudesheim is a great location for a last-night stop before flying out of Frankfurt.
Review 61:Loved my stay at Pension Post Rüdesheim. The owner was lovely and personable and the quality of my stay, not just in his hotel but in the town itself, was important to him. I was also served the most delicious home made breakfast so do make sure you eat breakfast when staying here.
Review 62:The plastic curtain in the bath doesn't seem hygienic and could probably be replaced with something more modern/clean. No WiFi available. We were charged €20 for one extra child even though the hotel description said just "All children are welcome" and there were no triple rooms available. The extra charge should be made clear in the hotel description...
Review 63:We had a beautiful view of the Rhine. The room was comfortable and spacious. Very good location by the most interesting places in the town.
Review 64:Our experience with Pension Post Rüdesheim was 100% positive! Great location, family owned, clean and comfortable, excellent breakfasts, a lift... And Herr Lauter was a perfect host. This is a destination hotel for us - we will return to Rüdesheim just to stay at the Pension Post. (As in most old cities, hotel parking is limited. Contact Herr Lauter in advance. There is a public parking lot nearby, but I don't know the cost.)
Review 65:lack of variety of bread rolls
Review 66:location with view of the Rhine and very close to train station and ferry;simple but ample breakfast;Mr. Tauber helpful with questions and excellent English;old-fashioned interior
Review 67:Nothing. This was a great stay.
Review 68:The location was great. We went for the Christmas Market, which was right out the front door. Drosselgasse, the wine street, was right out the side door. The manager, Herr Lautner is extremely friendly and concerned that all details were to our satisfaction. Great German breakfast. I was a bit worried about noise, with the Rhine boat and rail traffic out front, but the room was very quiet. This hotel is a gem, and Herr Lautner is a wonderful host.
Review 69:Extremely quite in the evenings with most of the shops and bars shutting before 8pm. This was early December.
Review 70:Locality, on the corner of the Drosselstrasse. Car parking is secure, everything within walking distance, trains shops bars, and cruise boats.
Review 71:I have to honestly say that there was nothing that I found to be a downside to the hotel.
Review 72:Friendly welcome and the Hotel was very clean. Location was excellent for the Christmas Market, the Cable Car, the shops and town in general. Excellent breakfast and attentive host.
Review 73:Room was noisy, but not surprising given the central location
Review 74:Breakfast was fantastic, owner was friendly and helpful, the building is attractive and centrally located.
Review 75:Nothing reallyWe did not find the trains much of a problem but there was a strike so fewer trains whilst we were there.
Review 76:Most friendly hospitable welcome by Thomas and Petra. I like a kettle in my room to make tea at night and Thomas found an electric coffee maker which was a very good substitute. There was a fridge in the corridor for milk and wine.wine glasses provided. the enormous beds were very comfortable. Very spacious rooms.
Review 77:Every aspect was very good to excellent.
Review 78:The staff was most hospitable and spoke fluent English. The room was very nice and clean. The location to the rail station, the K-D Ship dock and the village is excellent. The breakfast was the traditional German menu and very good. We would highly recommend this establishment.
Review 79:Rüdesheim is actually not that big, but the location of the hotel is really very good. The host family was extramely friendly. Unlike most small family-run hotels in Germany, there is an elevator -a bonus for those with more luggage. There is a small garage, but you need to book it in advance.
Review 80:Thank you Thomas for your hospitality. Everything was perfect and your help with everything was greatly valued. We loved our stay in Rudesheim. Must stay longer next time.
Review 81:I can find nothing to dislike !!!!!!!
Review 82:5 minutes walk from railway station, the 100 year old building is run by the perfect host and his wife. The rooms are spotlessly clean and stylishly decorated.Continental breakfast was perfect and we were given special food for our dietery needs for no extra cost.
Review 83:Parking was limited but we were lucky to get one of the 5 places. They might suggest other parking areas to late arriving guests.
Review 84:Pension Post is on the main street adjoining the Drosselgasse. You are never more than a short walk away from any of the attractions, eating or shopping. We arrived early in the day after a short drive from Frankfurt airport. The hosts were very accomodating in allowing us to check in as soon as the rooms were ready and before the usual check in time. They have a small, hard to access parking area and one of the hosts parked our car for us. Place was very clean, has an elevator, great breakfast, and speak English. I have stayed in other places in Rudesheim but this will always be my first choice when I return.
Review 85:No hair dryer in the room but Reception delivered one promptly.
Review 86:We arrived on the train and departed the next morning on the KD-Line boat cruise on the Rhine. Great location as within walking distance from both. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent with a nice selection. Quiet room with comfortable bed.
Review 87:Room was very basic. Bathroom did not include anything except a small bar of soap. Tub was slippery and shower controls were not working well.
Review 88:Location was excellent. Elevator and it was a great value for the money. Staff was excellent and helpful. Parking on site.
Review 89:Nothing except leaving
Review 90:Fantastic one night stay... Greeted outside even before we could get off our motorcycle by mine host Thomas!.. Everything 1st class. Note if your a light sleeper ask for room at the back. We had requested a room overlooking the Rhine but we sleep well and train noise doesn't bother us... Would highly recomend. Thanks Thomas. Maybe we come again!
Review 91:It would be great if there's a hair drier in the room.
Review 92:The hotel is located just next to the famous "Drosselgasse". Although we arrived late in the evening on Sunday, we could have dinner near the hotel. This hotel serves nice breakfast. We enjoyed breads, cheese, hams with coffee. The stuffs are nice and friendly. The reception is not opened 24 hours, but you don't need to worry as long as you notice them in advance. Also it's better to let them know in advance when you need a parking space so that they can reserve.
Review 93:good breakfast, nice room with balcony, service till night(we don't know how to turn on the TV LOL),5 mins walk to Drosselgasse and 10 mins walk to station.
Review 94:I opened the bedroom window and a number of spiders fell out into the room, it was a hot day and we had to keep the windows shut so as not to have them in our room. There were also some in the bath tub. It's a shame because the place was really nice other than that!
Review 95:The staff were very helpful in the morning when we had to check out and printed us our boarding ticket to the ferry.
Review 96:I really missed the air conditioning and I was not able to sleep with an open window as the trains kept on coming by every 10 minutes. Also during the night.
Review 97:The Pension is very nice and typical German. Nice staff and good breakfast.
Review 98:railway tracks between hotel and the river provides 24/7 train noise every few minutes. reduced with earplugs but leaving windows closed heats up the room too much
Review 99:great people, good room, good breakfast; great location just across the street from the Rhine and on the corner of the busiest restaurant/tourist street in town. everything is easily walkable, and there's lots to see and do.
Review 100:Noise from the trains.

Review 124:German single mattresses, not air-conditioned, bathroom a bit outdated
Review 125:Staff, Location, price
