Reviews for RK Hotel El Cabo
Review 1:I had breakfast on one of the days and I think I may have been ten minutes late ... the guy who served me was a bit grumpy and there wasn't the selection I thought there might be. That wasn't the hotel's fault as breakfast is taken in a nearby restaurant.
Review 2:Very clean and helpful. Rooftop terrace was good. Close to bus stop and a short walk from the port. The little restaurant next door is just so nice.
Review 3:No negative.
Review 4:Room was clean, fresh and sweet. Bathroom was as well nice. We spent just one nigh. Close to the hotel - down on the street we found amazing restaurant.
Review 5:* No fresh juice for breakfast, canned mashroom and low quality sausage. There is no full grain bread. * A little bit noisy. * This was no problem for us but the hotel is located in a village named 'Agaete' which is far from the touristic area in the south. (One hour and half with bus and one hour to the city of Las Palmas)
Review 6:* Staffs are very friendly and helpful * There is a big dinning area with microwave, fridge and freezer located in the basement of the hotel. * The breakfast serve in one restaurant near the hotel with a sea view and fairly good buffe * There is a balcony with slightly good view over the sea and the mountains. * Lots of restaurants are nearby with different sea foods
Review 7:The breakfast buffets were expensive, disappointing, and held at another hotel. It's really not worth it— better to go into Agaete and grab a coffee and pastry at a café. Try to avoid staying on the ground floor, as it is noisy, and the rooms are a bit depressing. We asked to move, and were kindly offered a much better room on the second floor which was cute and had a double bed (which is what we had asked for when booking, but initially did not get). Parking is on the street, which could be challenging if you stay during peak season.
Review 8:The staff at the hotel were so friendly and accomodating. Location is fine, not in the center of town, but we were happy with that.
Review 9:Minor thing: Hotel sometimes a bit noisy (depending on room) with few "sound absorbing materials". But considering the price, super service and location, i would certainly book it again.
Review 10:Very clean hotel. Staff goes through great length to make your stay pleasant. Lots of little extra´s like toiletries. The 103 bus stop is only 50 meters away.
Review 11:Nothing
Review 12:The hotel and its staff proves more than 2 stars, atleast they try hard. Perfectly situated in the center of Agaete, a pleasant stay in a cosy village/little town. Internet is good, parking free just outside the hotel on the street, very friendly staff.
Review 13:All was very good.
Review 14:The location is perfect, hotel is clean & tidy. Nice place, nice additional rooms like rooftop and common place downstairs where you can eat.
Review 15:That I have to leave those views behind ...
Review 16:One of the cleanest places I have ever seen Great terrace with stunning views Staff very helpful and friendly Great surroundings with GC-200 road to be seen
Review 17:The cleaning fluids they use stink the whole hotel up. I couldn't get away from it, even on the roof top, where smoking is not allowed but people did anyway, the cleaning woman came and swabbed the decks at sundown...and again, that detergent perfume...at reception a scented candle? I always feel they are covering up something dirty when a hotel smells like that...give me bleach.
Review 18:The Booking.com price. Value for money if you get get it for 30-40 a night. The wifi actually worked... a novelty in Spain it seems.
Review 19:small rooms; tiny balcony; no fridge in room or shared areas; but still good value for money
Review 20:roof top terrace; very nice service personnel; speaks multiple languages; location close port
Review 21:Beds were a little bit hard.
Review 22:Location of this hotel (close to everything). View from small balcony. Nice rooms. A nice long trail along the coast. Very beautifull small city - Puerto de las Nieves.
Review 23:Everything at El Cabo surpassed our expectations. All areas were comfortable and very clean including the wonderful roof terrace where we relaxed in hammocks. Best of all the staff, especially Tomas who was very kind, nothing was too much trouble, he gave us a lot of help and information, which enabled us to really enjoy and make the most of our few days stay.
Review 24:Three things [ranked]: (1st) in our bathroom there should be one more light above the mirror over the basin; (2nd) the elevator needs an upgrade for optical interrupt; (3rd) the TV is perched too high to give the best screen clarity when viewed from several angles
Review 25:The cleanliness of the facilities; the availability of complementary tea, day or night; the breakfast arrangement; management honored my request for fresh flowers daily; and the staff was most accomodating
Review 26:Fairly small room and bathroom. Plastic mattress protector immediately below the bottom sheet. No shower cap.
Review 27:Helpful and pleasant reception staff. The roof terrace. Breakfast at the 4* hotel around the corner was good and included DIY fresh orange juice. Bottled water provided both nights. Good base for visiting the north and central highlands of Gran Canaria - green with lots of flowers in March, we particularly enjoyed Teror, Arucas (including its art gallery), Tejeda (nicer for lunch than Crus de Tejeda), Artenara and the drive down the Agaete Valley, although it is a dead end.
Review 28:Room near entrance/lobby with noise of doors opening and closing and people in lobby. One staff member did not respond very friendly when we asked to remove incense in the lobby which filled our room (and which is bad if you have asthma).
Review 29:Free water. Towel for the beach. Staff can help you out with planning your trip. Dedicated staff. Breakfast was fine (except for the coffee from the machine, but we could order real coffee). Close to restaurants and beach.
Review 30:Car parking can be an issue - at certain times street parking in the area is limited and there is a team of rogue locals in hi-viz vests who try to charge you to park (even though we were told it is free)
Review 31:Good location quite location - very close to harbour front restaurants, beautiful coastline, easy to reach by car from airport (main roads all the way).
Review 32:Breakfast was off site, but quite nice.
Review 33:The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The three of us had a wonderful time and would definitely stay here again. Great find!
Review 34:The dinner was good for non vegetarians (very good fish dishes), but not much choice for vegetarians unless you like omlettes. The weather on that side of the Island is much more wet and cold, but it is much less busy than in the south, so good for a rest.
Review 35:Very relaxing place, great terrace on top of the roof, great breakfast; very helpful staff; the promenade along the beach is wonderful, and the rock pools are great.
Review 36:-the bed for two could be a bit bigger (we're tall and a little plump) but tobe honest - there's nothing to complain about
Review 37:-extremely nice people at the reception and ceaning ladies - smiling all the time and ready to help instantly -very clean hotel with lovely smells -free tea and coffee -we were given wi-fi for free as a welcoming gift -nice decor of the room -location in the centre of the village
Review 38:The manageress Olga, and her son were always very helpful. Olga, in particular, created an aura of calm and tranquillity in the venue that matched the quiet and beauty of the location.
Review 39:Slightly limited reception hours, no big deal. Beds are a little hard, but they would be changed this year. No mentionable view from many of the hotel rooms, but the terrace mitigates that.
Review 40:Very helpful and friendly multilingual hotel staff. They speak good english, in addition to spanish, german, polish and some norwegian. The hotel is clean and well-maintained. Top roof terrace has excellent view, good for chilling and sunbathing.
Review 41:Parking can be difficult on weekends, not heated in the winter (we had a cold weather)
Review 42:very helpful and friendly staff, location, perfectly clean, nice rooftop terrace, free warm tea, great value for money.
Review 43:However, their restaurant recommendations were not helpful. In particular, "Dedo de Dios" was the only restaurant we visited that served really bad food. Other (non-recommended) restaurants were excellent, including El Cápita (and, in Agaete, Casa Pepe).
Review 44:All the staff were helpful and very nice.
Review 45:If you are into meat and fish you can vary the dishes you try over a week but my partner is vegetarian and the options are very limited. The breakfast at the hotel was the highlight for her.
Review 46:We visited the area to go walking each day and had a hire car to get to other parts of the island if needed. We only needed it twice as we found good trails near to Agaete which is a good centre for this time of year. It was quiet for most of the week but most of the restaurannts were open and we had plenty to chose from. Breakfast was taken at a sister hotel but this was not a problem as we were well received and the selection of dishes was excellent.
Review 47:Finding a parking lot can be a little difficult.
Review 48:The staff were friendly and very helpful. The place is perfect - not too crowded with tourist and very nice if you just want to relax.
Review 49:Was waiting for 15 min for somebody to show up at reception at check in time (no Hello said to greet). No cleaning or change of towels for 2 nights I've stated. No curtains on the window, only plastic hospital looking cover to protect from sun. No electricity switch next to the bed so need to get up and walk to the entrance door at night to switch off the lights. TV is on the side of the room so it's impossible to watch it from the bed of turn it. Hard mattresses had plastic cover underneath the bed sheets like in the hospital.
Review 50:Good quiet location. Good maintanance.
Review 51:Downstairs room noisy; loud buzzer to let in guests after hours, people in reception in the morning. 'Double bed' = two singles pushed together. Window on to indoor patio = window on to 2m by 2m dirty hole!
Review 52:Location, breakfast, terrace, staff, shower
Review 53:All was OK. Very good hotel (price/quqlity) to be recommended for everybody.
Review 54:Excellent location, friendly staff that was always available for advise. Very clean and nice rooms, in a quiet environment. On the roof was a huge sunny terras. Restaurants close by, and generous buffet breakfast was provided in a hotel close by.
Review 55:Puerto de las Nieves is a nice small village, very quiet and a good base to explore the north and west of the island. The hotel is close to the beach and the restaurants. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was spotlessly clean, not big, but well equipped. I got a free bottle of water every day. Wi-Fi is paid (I don't understand why), but was very reliable and with decent speed. Great terrace overlooking the village. Excellent buffet breakfast in the neighbouring hotel.
Review 56:Great location within the village. Excellent breakfast buffet. Bus stop less than a minute away. I arranged a massage through the hotel which was very professional.
Review 57:My room was on the first floor, just across the reception and the main door and the walls are thin, but luckily I'm a heavy sleeper.
Review 58:If you are looking for a beach holiday with exiting night life then this place is probably not for you. But if you are looking for a place away from the big crowds, like hiking and nature then this is a good place to explore the island. The hotel has a great location, friendly and helpful stuff, free parking near the hotel, very good breakfast and wifi in the rooms (paid, but reasonable price). There are several restaurants nearby and a grocery store not too far from the hotel.
Review 59:Parking.....if we knew that parking would be such a gong show we would not have stayed here. Pay lots by some shady folks trying to make money, on street parking is non existent from Friday to Sunday. Drive around and around to find any open spot.
Review 60:Food, shopping, ocean, beach, snorkelling, close to the ferry, very clean and quiet. Staff are great, location was super
Review 61:Very helpful to cyclists.
Review 62:Quite small rooms, no proper table in the room. No fridge. Too small shower cubicle (even for a 70 kg person).
Review 63:Clean, good location.
Review 64:The beds were terrible
Review 65:Staff is great
Review 66:Excellent staff, helpfull with everything.
Review 67:Beautifully situated, really helpful staff! Clean and comfy room. Thank you!
Review 68:Flats very noisy
Review 69:Staff was very nice
Review 70:Good place for hicking and relax, not the best location for travelling around the island.
Review 71:Recepcionists, Puerto the Las Nieves, Quiet, Peacefull
Review 72:Nice views, great people, great food ??????
Review 73:Very clean, good location, no tourist hassle whatsoever. Great views from the terrace!
Review 74:Friendly, helpful and very clean.
Review 75:very friendly and helpful staff. good location. good room facilities
Review 76:Staff really friendly
Review 77:Beautiful location with scenic view in the sea from the terraza
Review 78:Hotel el cabo was so cozy and the staff was fantastic. We had such a good time there and missed nothing!
Review 79:Hard to find a parking place.
Review 80:We found it as a calm and peaceful place after hectic and noisy days in Maspalomas and Las Palmas.
Review 81:personly staff
Review 82:Roof-top terrace, free tea, great breakfast (off-site but very close by)
Review 83:Nothing.
Review 84:Spotlessly clean, very helpful staff. Free tea, coffee 50 cents. Very close to local bars and cafes. Unlimited use of wifi.
Review 85:We liked everything.
Review 86:The room and the bed were to small for 2 persons!! Our room was in the inner courtyard and dark.
Review 87:The breakfast was excellent!
Review 88:Some noise from early morning building truck unloading, but this only happened once in our 3 night stay.
Review 89:The Location is just fantastic
Review 90:We enjoy everything
Review 91:The situation, the terrace on the roof, the comfort. Very lovely and quiet village.
Review 92:The hotel was very clean and cozy. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Hotel is located in a very beautiful place by the ocean.
Review 93:Excellent stuff! Friendly and helpful . One can feel there really welcome .
Review 94:No drawbacks for me personally.
Review 95:It was clean and tidy but the main reason for booking was it's location, close to the ferry to Tenerife.
Review 96:uncomfortable beds, charge for wifi
Review 97:location in a pleasant, quiet village, clean hotel, friendly staff, free coffee and tea
Review 98:The room we stayed in was beautiful very clean and comfortable, definately return.
Review 99:THE staff the cleaness the location
Review 100:Wifi wasn't in the rooms when we were there - only in the lobby. But it looked like they might be having it installed for the rooms.
Review 101:The hotel is very well run and the owners are welcoming and friendly. They gave us lots of information about the local area. The room was sunny, clean and had everything we needed - bottled water provided. There were tea facilities in reception. There is a nice roof terrace. Breakfast is down at their restaurant in the harbour - good selection and good quality. This hotel is good value - we would return and would recommend.
Review 102:It would be very nice to have a refrigerator in the room!
Review 103:We loved the breakfasts at the little restaurant in the harbour! No trouble at all that it wasn´t at the hotel - much cosier this way!
Review 104:It was perfect. If you expect a bustling metropole, then go someplace else. But if you don't, then Agaete and Hotel El Cabo are a fantastic place to stay.
Review 105:If you want a break away from it all, and enjoy the peaceful life in a quiet but beautiful fishers town, then this is your place to go.
Review 106:The best 2 star A great 2star hotel.Superb staff. Lauren's comment says it all. I would add a wonderful walk along the sea frontage awaits you ! Next door to the hotel is a bar eatery typical Canarian food.Wonderful value. we have stayed in anywhere !
Review 107:There was a little noise in the mornings which we suspect came from the chambermaids. Just little annoyances like chairs scraping etc. A minor thing, but 10am might be a better time to start when people are on holiday. If it wasn't the chambermaids, then we apologise, but maybe other guests could be encouraged to be more mindful.
Review 108:Even though the location is not close to the airport, this precisely why we chose this hotel (that and a combination of the reviews and price, too). We liked the quiet, unpretentious and authentic location. The hotel was simple, but clean and more than adequate for our needs. In addition, the staff (namely Tomas and Olga) at the hotel were simply brilliant. Helpful, knowledgeable and polite. We also loved the staff in the affiliated restaurant (Restaurant La Cofraida de Pescadores): Tenasor, Misa and the others were amazing; helpful, polite, funny and patient. If you want a quiet holiday away from the tacky crowds of Playa Del Ingles etc, this is a good base for this side if the island. The fishing port's proximity guarantees the most beautiful, fresh fish and seafood too. It's not fancy, but neither are the prices and it's good, tasty, honest food with great service and lovely people in a very small, pretty, peaceful fishing village.
Review 109:Very helpful staff, great breakfast included at the restaurant by harbour 100m away...good location, wifi, and lovely roof terrace...good value for money, not luxurious but perfectly comfortable.
Review 110:Room was quite small.
Review 111:Location near harbor restaurants and seawater swimming pools at the seaside walk. Good breakfast at harbour with real "italian" coffee.
Review 112:Great location if you like quiet, small town stays. Was nice to be able to walk out each evening, and find a different seafood restaurant to enjoy for dinner. Easy walk to the ferry dock. Room was nice and comfortable, the hotel was very clean. Price was reasonable.
Review 113:No wifi in room, but you'll find it's actually amazing to be offline most of the time on your holiday! And when you choose to be online, you can always go to the common area downstairs.
Review 114:Olga and Thomas, who run the hotel, couldn't do more to make sure you are ok. Their friendly advise, help with anything (from arranging taxis to scuba diving) made us feel we were actually staying in 4 star hotel.
Review 115:Pta. de las Nieves is a beautiful place, much better than the southern towns. Besides, the food in here was great, especially in the hotel restaurant cofradia de pescadores.
Review 116:No WiFi in the rooms (as it is said in the description).
Review 117:The hotel is run with lot of care for small details. We had a problem that was fixed immediately with a good apologize from the team. The breakfast is amazing. Puerto de las Nieves is a very nice and calm place.
Review 118:No wifi in rooms, but it is in the rest room,on the first floor of the building.
Review 119:Everything just perfect :-) Staff is very helpfull and friendly, speaking language english, deutch, spanish, polish. Hotel is very nice and modern looking. Rooms are small, but very clean, comfortable, furniture is new, nice and tasty, cable tv. Braekfast is in the Local restaurant, continental, but good. It is very quiet, superb views to the mountains and the ocean. Landscape and area is very beautifull. Its very close to the mountains and ocean with natural volcano pools. We definitely will comback to this place and we highly rocomended to everyone this hotel.
Review 120:No facility to make hot drinks in room. Room cleaning could be better. From 28/10/2013 Meals are at restaurant away from hotel.
Review 121:Friendly Staff especially Thomas who could not do enough to make your stay the best. Good breakfast,
Review 122:There is no sea view, the room loooked on the street and it could bequite noisy. Agaete is very cold and windy compared to the south of theisland, I wouldn't stay there if I'd come back to Gran Canaria.
Review 123:It was very clean and new. They gave us a very efficient wifi.Breakfasts were very good.
Review 124:nothing worth mentioning
Review 125:friendliness and helpfulness of staff central location comfort of rooms half-board deal good value for money
