Reviews for Hotel Am Alten Hafen

Review 1:It was pretty dusty and the wifi didn't reach my room since I was on the third floor. And when it reached it was very slow. I complained at the reception but they said they won't do anything until other guests complain which is ridiculous.

Review 2:Perfect location and a gorgeous view of the port. Nice parking spot and free. The room was equipped well and the kitchenette had everything you need.

Review 3:Good location for travelers from Poland to Denmark to step by for one night. Best value for money. Couple of good places around to eat. Will choose next time. Well recommended.

Review 4:The lady at the frontdesk (Isabelle Wobig) when we arrived and left was the opposite of friendly and helpful. Just plain rude. Other staff members were very friendly and helpful.

Review 5:Great location viewing the Old Port. Spacious appartment in the "Altes Zollhaus". Very good Italian restaurant downstairs (is not part of the hotel). Good quality breakfast.

Review 6:It said free parking but the Hotels parking lot was crowded and we had to park on a parking lot that charged you almost the whole stay.

Review 7:Clean and with large rooms. Nice staff. Located close to the excellent Brauerei Wismar where you also can eat.

Review 8:wish someplace nearby was open to eat at 10pm. they directed to another hotel and restaurant but they quit serving food at 10pm. this was a destination for the over 65 crowd.

Review 9:walkable from train station.felt at 52 I was a teenager when in the breakfast room, room very clean.

Review 10:Very tired breakfast, scrambled eggs like rubber, coffee vile. Wi-Fi in room hopeless, download <1 Mpbs, presumably due to inadequate extenders within hotel.

Review 11:The hotel boasts a free wi-fi , that is that you get a 3-hour key to a veery slow and unstable net. Most sites could not be opened. Somewhat better in the middle of the night. If you need internet connection , take another hotel.

Review 12:Only 3 hours wifi and then you need to request again

Review 13:At first we were put in a relately small room #1; in that room the heater could not be turned off (way too warm). When we went to staff they gave us a larger room #2. That room was fine. Good breakfast.

Review 14:There only two serious drawbacks - absence of kettle and fridge inside my apartment. I asked reception about this absence and they answered me that it due to fire safety(!). If you want to drink a tea you have to go to reception and pay several euros to buy tiny cup of tee... No water coolers in the hotel... And you should notice that the reception is closed after 21:00-22:00.

Review 15:This Hotel has ideal location in Wismar. The hotel is placed in Altstadt and in the vicinity of Wismar haven. My apartment was clean and quiet. I did not visit breakfast in this Hotel and I cannot say anything about it:)

Review 16:It would be nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room and have more choice of TV channels, but these were not a problem for us.

Review 17:The hotel is well situated for visitors travelling by rail & for those who enjoy being close to the harbour where all the activities take place. The town centre is also within walking distance. Our room on the top floor was of a generous size and had all the required amenities. The buffet breakfast was good and well presented.

Review 18:The WiFi - virtually non existant (soooooooooo slow) The Breakfast - very little choice, and, all the wrong things. (No Nutella??) The Parking - just not enough space. (a mud field)

Review 19:The location - great for an evening stroll into the old town. Lots of restaurants around. The value for price - a clean and comfortable room, for a decent price.

Review 20:Central location

Review 21:Closeness to the Old City; next to the Water Gate

Review 22:Good location, garage,breakfast

Review 23:Room was a little small but functional

Review 24:Located very close to city center with parking included. Breakfast was extra but worth the money

Review 25:None.

Review 26:Location was great for seeing the city.

Review 27:Nothing

Review 28:We liked the location close to the harbour. Many restaurants in walking distance. Nice old town. Free parking just next to the hotel.

Review 29:Awful wifi

Review 30:Location was great, close to cafes and the old town. Good clean rooms.

Review 31:Poor ViFi connection

Review 32:Great location near old part of the town

Review 33:2 hours time limit free wifi

Review 34:Good location ,the room was clean and comfortable.

Review 35:A very good location and a very nice Apartment with a wonderful view

Review 36:No night open check in desk, be sure to arrive before 22:00.

Review 37:Close to most interesting parts of the city.

Review 38:rooms towards the street are noisy

Review 39:convenient rooms friendly personal location breakfast

Review 40:No hot breakfast.

Review 41:Just outside the Nosferatu bridge and still quiet and cosy enough for us to sleep. Ask for extra/firmer pillows. Really great location for everything anyway and loads of pubs and restaurants. The breakfast was okay with lots of bread, spreads, fillings and a toaster.

Review 42:Nothing to say. We didn't have breakfast.

Review 43:The excellent position near the railway and bus station. The city centre is near too and can be reached by a pleasant walk in the nearby. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I confirm the presence of a lift.

Review 44:The absence of a lift, although the receptionist was more than willingto carry both our heavy bags to the third floor.

Review 45:Very friendly reception and very willing help when the odd difficultyarose. Free parking, across the road, although the amount of space islimited. We also liked the sea-front location, and the modern decorand furnishing. The buffet breakfast is good value at 8.50 euros extraper person.

Review 46:The hotel's harbourside location is excellent, but we had to shut the windows at night in our 1st floor room because of the traffic noise - in high summer this might be a problem. Everything about the hotel was overall very good - but why don't German hotels provide a kettle in their rooms?

Review 47:Very good location in a very interesting town, well worth a visit for a few days, especially for anyone interested in the history of the region (better than Stralsund in my view!) The hotel has been refurbished to a good modern standard, our room was comfortable, there was a very good choice for breakfast and it was excellent value for money! The brewpub just around the corner "Brauhaus am Lohberg" has good food (though portions are too big!) as well as good beer.

Review 48:Internet is free of charge BUT you keep loosing the connection all the time, speed is poor, and you get a special password you can use for 3 hours and then you have to go back and ask for another every time

Review 49:Very clean, quite comfortable, friendly staff, 10 minutes walk from the market square (center), close to the port

Review 50:very clean and nice hotel, located to the old harbor, walking distance to the downtown, there a few restaurant close to the hotel. we have been recommended "Brauhaus Am Lohberg" and remained extremely satisfied with the local beer.

Review 51:I had only one complaint, namely the duvet was too heavy for summer which disturbed my sleep. This is a common problem for me and at times for my husband.I didn't mention this as we only spent 2 nights with you.

Review 52:We booked from Britain,in the hope that we would be satisfied with your hotel. We liked the friendliness of the staff and the relaxed running of the hotel--but with excellent standards of cleanliness. It was very good value. We loved being so near the quay and das alte Brauerei !

Review 53:The room was very small and bathroom tiny, it faces a road which was quiet at night

Review 54:This is a centrally located hotel with parking facilities opposite the harbour area

Review 55:Good location, especially if you walk from rail station.

Review 56:I like this hotel and I recommend it.

Review 57:no cooked brakfast

Review 58:every-thing

Review 59:Has neither restaurant or bar (although I think both may be works in progress).

Review 60:Worth every one of 3*.

Review 61:The location

Review 62:It was fine for our needs

Review 63:no lift after 10pm

Review 64:cean, nice staff; nice breakfast

Review 65:Clean. Good location. Free private parking.

Review 66:doublebed too narrow flat a little dark

Review 67:great position fine breakfast got a flat for dobleroom price perfect free parking

Review 69:Location is great! Room very spacious and clean

Review 70:Simple but good hotel. Parking could be difficult, but not impossible, the hotel has a few reserved place at the opposite public parking area.
