Reviews for Hotel Valencia Center
Review 1:No round bath tub in room and location not the best
Review 2:Great room with a massive bed and was very comfortable, manager sent us fruit cocktails up which was a pleasant surprise for free
Review 3:Ideally located, just a 1.5E bus ride to the Old town, and a 3 minute walk to the "Ciudad de las Artes Y Ciencias" We stayed 5 nights on a Demi-Pension basis, and the manager extended the moderately limited set menu, to the a la carte menu for the last two nights; at no extra charge. The food on both menus was excellent, and beautifully presented, with friendly and attentive staff.
Review 4:We thought the pool was indoors so were a little disappointed when there was only an outdoor pool, our fault, we should have read the literature a bit more The leisure facilities, sauna and gym, were a little basic, a jacuzzi would have been better and lastly, there was not much in the way of tourist info.
Review 5:The hotel was spotlessly clean and there were buses almost at the door We decided to walk to the old centre of Valencia through the old river bed Turia, and it was lovely, glad we didnt just go on a bus Valencia was fabulous, would go again
Review 6:Rooms are small. The toilet was not cleaned, was very dirty althoug sealed. We asked twice for towels and to clean the toilet, with no positive reaction of the staff. 4 stars hotel and no slippers...
Review 7:Good location. Breakfast ok.
Review 8:Our first room was shabby but after talking to the manager Javier who was very good, we were moved to a much better room.
Review 9:It was a good location. The majority of the staff were very good .
Review 10:I was very disappointed to see black mould around the top of the bath, also cracked tiles on the bathroom floor. Although there was a large selection for breakfast, the hot food was cold and both of the toasting machines broke down on the second morning
Review 11:The location of the hotel was excellent, bus stopped outside to take you into town centre. We received a platter of desserts in our room as a welcome gift which was a nice surprise.
Review 12:A/C was off in our suite but switched on next day when requested. Waiting in line at reception as both room keys failed only for a Spanish gent to walk in and get attention before others who had the same problem. I had spent over £600 on this hotel suite and he was booking a meal. He wasn't even a hotel guest. Rude reception!!!!! Couch in the suite a bit tatty. Room safe not fixed down. Any one that did break in just has to walk out with our safe in a big bag. 30 degrees outside and the roof top pool closed for the season.
Review 13:Breakfast was lovely as was the bar staff. Shower was great and the room cleaner done a great job. Good location. 10 minute walk to metro or local bus stops outside.
Review 14:Not allowed to sit in the restaurant to have a drink even though nobody was waiting for food. Staff not helpful and no chance of them going out of their way to help. Air conditioning switched off as it was November. The temperature was 24 degrees on average. 3 x requests to switch it back on after 2 sleepless nights due to the heat. Reception was nice and cool though as the air conditioning was on in reception. Advertised as air conditioned but no offer of partial refund after sleepless nights due to the heat. Not impressed.
Review 15:There is notting not to like here.
Review 16:Excelent location, close to the museums and the park. And the hotel itself is wonderfull with very helpfull staff, super continental breakfirst and beautyfull large rooms. And to top it, free parking all around the hotel area.
Review 17:Pull out sofa bed was broke on arrival, and when you've been traveling with your seven year old for 8+ hours, and you want to get her to sleep, and the staff laughing that the bed was broke for the dollars we paid I expected better. Also anytime you call you get the same attitude.
Review 18:The hotel was very nice, the location to major shopping, dining, the museum and other attractions. Easy to find from train station via taxi, and the area was safe.
Review 19:No kettle in room so had to keep going down to the bar to get hot water to warm up baby food..had a few encounters with an incredibly rude woman who huffed & puffed & swore under her breath in spanish thinking I wouldnt understand..later found out she was the restaurant manager! wasnt impressed
Review 20:Decent hotel in all, 4 stars im not sure about though, could probably do better for the same money..cleaning staff were the friendliest people working there..good location half way between town & beach..big corte ingles shopping centre just around the corner & close to Aquarium/museums
Review 21:Normally I don't like to complain, but you expect more from a 4 stars ranked hotel: beds felt like a stone, dirty bath (meld), airco didn't work (hence 25 degrees at my room) and poor gym facilities (Just a working bike, run and crosstrainer)
Review 22:Friendly staff, well-located, sauna
Review 23:The beds was just slightly softer than the floor, just a slight difference. The room didnt get a luxurious feel and the breakfast buffé was kind of poor.
Review 24:That it was staffed 24h
Review 25:Given wrong room to the one booked, given normal room when we had booked a suite! No bathrobes or slippers ,though should have been included. Over charged for drinks at bar, charged for mini bar when not used.
Review 26:Location,very good. Value for money normally. Breakfast. We have stayed at this hotel 3 times in the last year, and normally very good, this time everything seemed to go wrong, .
Review 27:very close the "Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias". Very good value for money and busstop a few meters from the front door to reach the main station
Review 28:Good location as we had a rent a car, so we didn't want to stay in the middle of the centre. The hotel is very close to the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències. In case you have a car; there is plenty of parking space available on the streets around the hotel (free when it's not a blue zone), but the hotel also has a parking garage (for a charge). Nice restaurants, cervezeria's and breakfast places close to the hotel.
Review 29:nothing
Review 30:the location is near Oceanigraohic and museum of sciences and city of arts. free wifi. the area is calm and u can easily get a taxi to the old town or Geo park at 10euros or less.
Review 31:The room was very basic and located in a dull area with little people. The staff and cleaners were a bit rude. I found the beds a bit too hard for a hotel standard but I wasnt complaining, only if your looking for luxury comfort.
Review 32:The hotel bathroom was lovely.
Review 33:location between beach and old town and very close to city of arts and science is convenient, the breakfast is a great filler for a day at the beach or sightseeing. the pool though small is handy for a cool down.
Review 34:Great location, bus number 19 runs both to the beach and to the city center, all very close. The Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias is within walking distance. A couple of nice restaurants nearby. Friendly staff, tidy room.
Review 35:We found the desk staff to be quite rude and cold towards us in both checking in and out, and day to day. And as we had searched for a hotel with a swimming pool and payed a little extra for one it was extremely disappointing that our pool was freezing cold. We're Irish and used to the cold but this was something else altogether, completely unusable.
Review 36:The room was brilliant and cleaned to fantastic standards every single day. The location of the hotel was fantastic, very handy for the old town, beach and city of arts and sciences and buses picked up and dropped off right outside the door.
Review 37:expencive hotel, breakfast very expencive, good coffey but food not hot, not all staff speak English, vey small pool and sauna
Review 38:clean and safe, friendly staff
Review 39:Location not cosy, streeft noise in morning. I liked there was a fitness but everything (4 machines available only) was broke accept for one crosstrainer which 'worked'
Review 40:Hygiene was good and room was spatious enough. View from the rooftop
Review 41:Roof top pool and area around pool a bit on the small side but great for cooling off at the end of the day.
Review 42:Located halfway between beach and old town. A 2 min walk to Valencia central Parc. Very good location and price.
Review 43:Tiny pool with no space for relaxing. Gym was also on the roof so it was too hot to use. A bit pricy breakfast/ restaurant. The nearby Valencia beach was a disappointment. Water was so full of all sorts of waste that after one dip we didn't want to endanger our health in between floating sanitary towels, pizza boxes and whatnot. Showers on the beach work fine though. Also I recommend staying nearby the beach police station if you don't want to loose your belongings! The so called science museum El Museu de les Ciències Príncipe Felipe, looks nice as a building but it's science for only 3 year old kids. L'Oceanogràfic is meant to be the largest aquarium in Europe but it was horrible. Poor whales and seals in tiny tanks covered with some green stuff. Penquins were so dirty in their cramped tank that we felt sick. Dolphin show was total waste of time. Please don't support this animal cruelty by going there, we wish we didn't!
Review 44:Hotel Valencia Center is nicely located between the beach and Valencia centre. Bus stops are only a few steps away and 1.50€ is quite reasonable price for a one way ticket. There is a nice shopping centre only a few minutes walk away. Hotel breakfast was plentiful but also a bit costly. Luckily there are several nice cafes nearby and a lovely bakery just across the road if something less than a full English is what you want. The roof terrace pool is small and it was always full of more or less screaming kids so we didn't explore that. Luckily there is an other terrace with a few chairs and sun beds for relaxing moments in the evening sun. Rooms were tidy and no noise from other rooms disturbed our sleep. The little cafe/ bar offers a nice variety of spiced teas and cocos, which I wholeheartedly recommend.
Review 45:Lack of printing facilities without emailing to staff. Would be great if the printer had been working.
Review 46:Staff friendly and very helpful. Swimming pool and surrounding space was lovely. Excellent location for attractions and beach. Convenient for local transport.
Review 47:The breakfast was ok but nothing special.
Review 48:We were traveling with 3 kids. We got comfortable comunicating rooms. The location is excellent for going to the acquarium and the science museum. Walking distance with 3 kids no problem
Review 49:The price of the breakfast.. €14.50 for a cold buffet breakfast, the eggs, bacon, sausages etc were cold which was a bit disappointing given the price paid.
Review 50:The rooms were clean and tidy and felt very homely.
Review 51:No tea /coffee in rooms , or late night room service to order tea/coffee!! Staff were very limited at reception most of the time and spoke very little English.
Review 52:Pillow menu
Review 53:the bath room was a disaster - there were mold stains all over the tiles and the handle of the bath tub was loose. There was a big mold stain on the ceiling of the room. Also the staff was not very helpful and seemed irritated. Price/quality is not in balance
Review 54:Bus 19 stops infront of hotel which takes you to city center and beach. Restaurants and shopping malls at walking distance.
Review 55:Beds could be better for this price. Very hard! Breakfast very expensive and also hotel price pretty high!
Review 56:Location is very good. Good places for breakfast near for 3x less money than in the hotel. Bus near. Restaurants near, all good.
Review 57:Small bathroom, yet comfortable.
Review 58:Room was fine. The hotel is just accross the La Ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias. Free parking is available near the hotel.
Review 59:The staff was seldom smiling; we expected the warm and smiling spanishpeople!! The room was not cleaned properly. For a 4 star hotel it was adissapointment! Standard room a little small for 3 persons, for astaying of 10 nights
Review 60:The bed was very confortable and clean. The location is excellent. Thepool on the roof ok
Review 61:Some mold in the bathroom, pool was a bit cloudy and there were no towels for the pool. Bedspreads seemed kind of "used". Maybe they can think of a more hygenic way for blankets?
Review 62:Not expensive
Review 63:The hotel location was excellent and it was located in a quite area, no street noise although on a main road.Shops and restaurants were close by. The City of Arts and Sciences is just a block away. The number 19 bus stop was a minute's walk from the hotel which took you either to Valencia City centre or to Valencia port, marina's and beach. Breakfast was really good with lots of choice of hot and cold buffet. The staff very helpful, friendly and efficient. The price of meals and drinks was very reasonable.
Review 64:Air conditioning in 1st room didn't work. Bitten by insects. Changed rooms air conditioning better. Swimming pool too small for number of guests and not clean.
Review 65:Restaurant and restaurant staff very pleasant. Room was comfortable
Review 66:Front steps are hard to use if you have leg problems.
Review 67:it is in a good location. It is close to a large mall and close to the Arts and Science Center. You can take a bus to the town center. Easy access to the train station via the bus.
Review 68:They did not have an iron in the room.
Review 69:The room was large consisting of the bedroom, bathroom and living room. Very comfortable. Would strongly recommend.
Review 70:Tea and Coffee making facilities in the room would be nice!
Review 71:Bus stops to and from city and beach, comfort in the room, friendly reception and cleaning staff.
Review 72:Great location in Valencia, next to many good restaurants, connected via bus with the center and beach. The breakfast was delicious and varied. The rooms are very clean and the beds are large and comfortable.
Review 73:The food for a dinner was always the same- you have to choose from 4-5 dishes. And the same dish in a different days was prepared with different quality..
Review 74:Breakfast not pleasant, plus half gone by the time I came to eat and there was still 30 minutes left of service. Plus I had to send dinner back that I had ordered through room service as was greasy & inedible. Staff don't go out of their way to help, I asked a few basic questions at various times during my stay which were brushed off with a shrug if answer required any effort.
Review 75:Room clean, modern. Bed very comfortable. Rooftop pool.
Review 76:Hotel bar/dining area was small and expensive. Pool was on the small side. Beds were very firm - too firm for my liking.
Review 77:Good location. Lots of places to eat close by. Good size bedroom. Free WiFi.
Review 78:Staff weren't very helpful, everything we asked seemed like too much trouble. They gave us some wrong information too. The location is poor. Far away from both the beach and the City center.
Review 79:Had 2 return twice to reception because the door opener did not work, parking is a disgrace very small and hard to get. and lack of staff instruction parking, breakfast ok but all together not worth 4 stars.
Review 80:Location very good, close to aquarium and museum, swimming pool on the roof small but refreshing, room was clean.
Review 81:The staff was very unhelpful. When I came a Manager was telling off a staff young lady for not understanding her job. A very unpleasant situation specially when one is about to check-in.
Review 82:The location
Review 83:We had asked as preference for double bed when we arrived we were given twin bedded room. When I asked why the hotel did not inform me . As I could have cancelled and booked elsewhere without charge, I was told if I wanted I could go to another hotel but as I had booked in I would be charged, the next day they provided us with a double bed room but it meant we had to repack and vacate for the day. The staff on the Friday night were unhelpful and lacking in customer care skills. The manager on the Saturday was more helpful
Review 84:Clean
Review 85:We had requested a cot for our young child and messaged the hotel separately to ensure they had received this. We arrived very late due to a delayed flight and were disappointed to find we didn't have one despite our messages. The staff were very helpful but couldn't find a proper cot and although did find a crib it wasn't suitable as our child could have easily climbed out. He ended up in bed with us which wasn't ideal.
Review 86:Had a small problem with the keys not working, but to compensate our room was upgraded without us even suggesting this, so nothing we didn't like :)
Review 87:The location and the room and Joan at reception was very helpful :)
Review 88:I will NOT fill another valuation as your totally distorted my evaluation of Mercure, Albi
Review 89:The glass shower surround did not stop water from leaking over the edge of the bath on to the floor, creating a swimming pool on the floor which was unsafe on tiles. The lighting in the bedroom is poorly positioned making it difficult to do your make up or hair, the room is all dark wood too making it feel even darker. The toilet door was positioned so that when using the toilet sitting down it rested between your legs unless door was closed.
Review 90:The room was a good size, comfortable bed, good black out blinds, quiet and private. Nice reception staff who were friendly and helpful.
Review 91:Nothing!
Review 92:Excellent location on 5 min. walk to the aquarium. Taxi to the city center costs 6-8 EUR.Very nice and comfortable hotel with big, extremely well and modernly equipped rooms. Very nice and big bathroom.Good WiFi in the rooms. Possibility for free parking on the street in front of the hotel.
Review 93:The breakfast was way toooooo expensive 14.50 euros. Even if you only wanted coffee and a piece of toast. One man who was staff reduced it for me and i paid 7.50 euros which is fair. The rude lady aid she would charge that but put 13 euros on account. this was reversed when we paid bill and a charge of 7.50 was then charged. She was rude and just said GO after I asked her to reduce cost and waved her hand at me.
Review 94:The hotel itself was very good but two staff were very rude, one the maintenance man and another the girl who doubled as breakfast staff and bar staff when proper bar staff not available. i have her name and will post it when i find it.
Review 95:The hotel has a nice location, in a good neighborhood, near 2 shopping centers. Good restaurants nearby, easy transportation to the old part of the city.
Review 96:Wifi was reasonably fast when it worked, but sometimes there would be black out periods on some of my devices for a few hours where it simply did not work at all.
Review 97:Very nice hotel, clean and with nice staff. Location is alright, its NOT central, 2 mins to CAC, about 15 mins by foot to the next beach and 25 mins to the old town. Metro far, but there are bus stops in very close proximity, so very easy to reach places.
Review 98:Internet was not working in the room at all.
Review 99:Good location. Everything was within walking distance (for us, up to 3 km): beach, city center, city of arts and science.
Review 100:We turned up at 20.50 to be told that our two rooms were not ready for us. Seeing as we had been paying for them since the afternoon, I asked for a complimentary beer whilst we waited for them to be serviced only to be told no. The staff member didn't seem concerned about the problem.
Review 101:None
Review 102:Convenient location to Science Centre. Street parking outside ( maybe a bit lucky) We had the Menu of the Day which was excellent with great service. Good breakfast.
Review 103:Found difficult to get out of car garage as there was no intercom system at last doors to get out you had to phone Receptoin
Review 104:Ideal location for city centre & the beach local stops outside for buses
Review 105:The car park was tricky for entry and exit . If I had a large car not sure I would have liked trying to gain access to the under ground parking facility.
Review 106:The hotel was located in an excellent spot for sight seeing and access to the city center. Bus stop outside the hotel can take you to the town or the beach.
Review 107:Confusion on website about the location and that of the NH Hotel of the same name.
Review 108:Staff were friendly and helpful, room was comfortable and the area is good for bars and restaurants. Hotel restaurant is small, but with good food at a good price.
Review 109:Nothing negative worth mentioning...
Review 110:The hotel is located near the main attractions that the city offers. Walking dostance to "Arts and Sciences". It's safe to park on the street, is you find space. There is a lot of restaurants in the area.
Review 111:Gym equipment was all broken. Water temperature in the showers fluctuated from scalding to Luke warm without turning the knob.
Review 112:Rooms were clean and stylish. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Review 113:WiFi not consistent. Show was very elaborate but water tended to go over the floor.
Review 114:Breakfast was amazing - plenty of choice. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Nice quiet area but close to many of the main arts and cultural activities.A doable walk to the marina and beach too.
Review 115:It's located near the City of Arts and Sciences, the park with the amazing architectural buildings. Clean room, very good breakfast buffet and good beds. Free and fast wifi.
Review 116:My booking was out by one day, as soon as I realised I called the hotel to move the dates, which they refused. I understand that there is no cancellation policy but I only wanted to move the booking forward by one night and was happy to cover the difference. Simple mistake. The difference they quoted was €120 on top of €130 I paid for 2 nights total making the first night €65 and the 2nd €185. They tried convincing me that this €120 is the actual difference and my €130 for 2 was a promotional rate (promotion in the middle of fallas, right)- they just didn't want to refund the money for the first night. They were very unhelpful ad unsympathetic. The check in wasn't welcoming, despite many phone calls prior to my arrival they couldn't find my booking and I had to find the confirmation first. If that wasn't enough on one occasion the receptionist put the phone down on me because I couldn't understand what she was saying. On the check out my Spanish speaking friend heard them arguing with another customer over the same thing (changing the dates of the stay) which was later commented on by one of the staff saying that they actually have 9 spare rooms for the night in question, which was also the night I requested. Seems to me that they'd rather have them empty than to keep existing customers happy. Unfortunately, I had to leave and find another hotel for the last night. On top of that, the hotel is far from everything and the shower needs fixing (goes either burnig hot or stone cold, splashes everywhere). Not what you'd expect from a 4*.
Review 117:The room had like a smoker smell, the bed spread had holes and bad markings. The beds were very squicky. You could not get cold air out of the AC but only hot air...
Review 118:The Staff was nice
Review 119:Shower can't be used without dropping water all over the place while the drain is a pain in the neck.
Review 120:Helpful staff, good customer service and tranquillity of the place.
Review 121:The welcome from staff on arrival and departure was very very good. Excellent advice on local buses and museums. We have stayed at this hotel many times on our way south and intend to do so in the future cannot fault anything.
Review 122:Rooms small, shower rubbish goes from hot to cold dosent stay consistent heat, not very safe no slip mat inside and the bath very narrow easy to slip. The hotel says there is a sauna although its free you could just fit in 3 people if you were feeling friendly. The hotel seems to us to be more of a 3 star.
Review 123:Breakfast was ok, room clean location for the museums was good and local shopping centres. Easy to get the tour bus and local buses.
Review 124:No tea or coffee making facilities in room. Due to the warm weather in january our room got very warm and stuffy due to the sun coming through the windows , and we were unable to cool it down with the room climate controls.
Review 125:Location for science park, and restaurants. Hotel staff at reception very good, Breakfast very good great choice for English or Continental.
Review 126:The gym. I partly booked this hotel because it mentions a gym. What a waste of time... But then again I should've done a bit more research.
Review 127:Staff, location.
Review 128:the people at the reception could use a smile sometimes? they were not rude, but in Spain you kind of get used to polite & positive people (well i need to mention the room service, that guy was great :) ) at a 4 star hotel's suite, you'd expect a higher standard of chairs/couches and facilities. in the lobby, the couch was very old, was not even flat. and it was impossible to watch the tv from the couch as tv is hidden in a closet, and the doors of the closet closes the view completely. I would recommend people to have breakfast outside. nothing special with the hotel breakfast and there are many good cafes providing good breakfast outside with a reasonable price. i'd highly recommend fruit & nuts (and also another one around 100 m far thru the museum) it was pretty difficult to arrange the temperature of the water. it always shifts from boiling water to quite fresh one. I'd recommend you to take your showers in the evening as it's significantly more stable well, we were not really bothered with above actually. we didn't really have very high expectations, so we were fine. this is just for the next visitors to know.
Review 129:we stayed at the executive junior suite (with a separate lobby). location is good, it's a short ride or 45 min walk to the city center. it's right across the science museum, aquarium etc. and also around 30 min walk to the nice parts of the beach. wi-fi access was alright. our room was at 6th floor and wherever we were, the connection was ok. lot of choices with tv channels. i usually do not even turn on the tv on my trips. but with a baby it's not always the case. a lot of international channels are avialable along with some good movie channels.
Review 130:Almohadas muy blandas. Ducha con bañera de difícil acceso y peligrosa (resbala)
Review 131:Precio 3 personas y desayuno. Facil aparcamiento en las proximidades. Cerca ciudad ciencias y zona comercial
Review 132:Reception staff not 4 star quality.
Review 133:Room, bed, bathroom excellent. Location good. Near City of Arts and Sciences and lovely bars and restaurants. Only 1.50 euros to take 10 bus journey (No. 19) into city centre.
The Fine Print
