Reviews for Hotel Rüdesheimer Hof
Review 1:The owners of this small family run hotel and its staff were all exceptionally helpful and gracious. I wish I had the name of the young girl that worked there...she was absolutely lovely and kind.... always ready and with a smile. The rooms were very clean and comfortable with free wifi. Our room was very spacious and modern..high ceiling and large stained glass windows ...all double glazed....loved it.Breakfast was good, plentiful and varied - it is a typical good German fare. Tea, not a forte, anywhere once you have crossed the channel unless you are a fan of the designer teas or "infusion" (made from strange flavored T bags) I suggest a travel kettle, mugs and tea bags. (buy milk there...Aldi and Liddle close by) I'm addicted to early am and a pm cup of tea with cake or biscuit of course...plenty of those around. The hotel is situated in town and the xmas market was all most on our doorstep. The market was fun and well attended It offered lots of interesting stalls with a great variety of wares, foods and drinks. Lots of people of different nationalities all having a great time The stalls all closed around 8pm.There are boat trips(over 60's discounts) lots of picturesque villages, strange and ominous looking castles, trains to the main shopping cities of Mainz and Wiesbaden. We stayed 5 days and did it all. Including some major shopping, subjecting our euro cards to a heavy work out but no sweating.Specialty food at this time of the year is Roast Goose...a favorite of mine. .....and for lovers of game...another favorite and seasonal specialty, is wild boar venison partridge and duck on most menus. The prices are reasonable and available a la carte at the hotel or any of the restaurants in the town. If you like sweet or medium wines you are in the right place. For those who prefer dry wines with your food always check the bottle with your waiter.
Review 2:Excellent location and I got extremely happy to know that I was on a street that led to one of the attractions I expected the most - St. Hildegard Von Bingen Abbey. Staff was extremelly kind. I am very happy about it.
Review 3:A very friendly, charming and typically German guest house. Breakfast was superb. Location was very good and a 5 mins walk from the Rhine and 10mins to the cable car. There is parking for around 10 cars at the back.
Review 4:The staff was fantastic. They acted more like our concierge and recommended activities to us that were awesome. The room was air conditioned, too.
Review 5:Room a bit cramped with little space for basic stuff. Could use an update.
Review 6:Staff and breakfast outstanding. Cute little balcony with space for small table and two chairs,
Review 7:This is a beautiful hotel, quaint and traditionally German in its decor. It is spotless, inviting, charming, beautiful and very well managed. The breakfast offers an extensive list of choices, and it is delicious! The location is a 10 minute walk from the train station. You will absolutely love this hotel.
Review 8:Well situated close to the river and Drosselgasse etc but away from noise. Very welcoming staff. Breakfast was very good, sadly I couldn't finish mine as I broke a tooth (no fault of the breakfast!)
Review 9:Wifi did not reach the room
Review 10:The hotel was wonderful! We were greeted and immediately given our room with a lovely balcony! The owners were very friendly and helpful. We ate dinner there and breakfast!! Both meals were fantastic! They have a beautiful terrace outside surrounded with grapevines for eating or just having a nice glass of local wine.
Review 11:Hotel is not in Remagen, but a suburb a couple of miles out. You can walk along the river into town or take the car through back lanes. As the first floor is above garages, many steps to reach reception. No lift, but this is mentioned in hotel description. Had dinner in restaurant. Ordered a starter and main course. Both arrived at the same time! Beef was too tough and had to send it back. Offered a free dessert or coffee as compensation. Declined, and asked for some refund against cost of meal. The beef was deducted from total bill.
Review 12:Room overlooked river. With windows fully open we could sit in chairs provided and watch the boats go by Outdoor Terrace for dinner or breakfast was lovely.
Review 13:The bathroom was adequate. We did not have air con. We understand that the hotel is upgrading the bathrooms. Our friends had the better choice of rooms. We would definitely stay there again. We will specify air con and updated bathroom though.
Review 14:William our host was very friendly and extremely kind.
Review 15:No complaints.
Review 16:The hotel location on the border of old-town Rudesheim and the main road into/out of town makes for convenient access by car. Helpful and friendly staff, along with great breakfast service and a clean, comfortable, spacious room combined for an excellent 2-night stay in Rudesheimer. Also, the hotel is very close to the embarkment docks for our Rhine river day cruise ( via Bingen-Rudesheimer) and festive old-town.
Review 17:I would have liked a safe in the room and a fridge, but for a couple of nights, it was fine.
Review 18:The location was great as it's 2 steps away from the centre of the action, there is a supermarket and post office right next door too. Taking a cab to the hotel from the train station cost us just over 5 euros. The staff was really are so nice, very accommodating and helpful. Also great breakfast!
Review 19:I didn't like the smell of the room. However, you won't notice it after a minute in the room. Only when you enter the room. The lights in the room didn't work so we just use the one from the dressing area. It was a long day and were too tired that it didnt bother us to have it changed. I was hoping for a minibar!
Review 20:We liked the location, the staff, the food and of course the room. Although, I had asked for a double room with a balcony, we chose the one without since it was much bigger and better and with a nice view of the Niederwald Monument. Big Bathroom. 3-5 min. walk to the river cruises, the markt, and the cable car to the monument. The staff were awesome! Very warm and welcoming! Our room was in front of the hotel overlooking the busy street but surprisingly quiet.
Review 21:The staff was very helpful with all of our questions. The owners helped me plan our train trip from Amsterdam to Rudesheim prior to leaving the US! Enjoyed a dinner at the restaurant on site...excellent white asparagus and shrimp. Got great recommendations for dinners out and boat trips. Loved this place!
Review 22:BUT it was very noisy from the street. As it was too warm with the window shut, but too noisy with it open, also from goods trains most of the night,we slept badly.
Review 23:Friendly staff, useful location with parking, and nice restUrant.
Review 24:A silent place in the middle of the beautiful city, away from the noisy trains. The personal were very friendly and the rooms were very clean and the food was excellent.
Review 25:Patchy wifi. No scenic/pretty views from the hotel but was only in the hotel for breakfast and bed.
Review 26:Very close to the town centre and Drosselgasse. Very helpful staff.
Review 27:Nothing.
Review 28:The hotel was really close the town about 3 mins walk which was excellent. The staff could not do enough for us and the breakfast was excellent we even had fried eggs and bacon on request. Will definitely use this hotel again.
Review 29:Great location for walking to Rhine boat rides, the chair lift, shops, restaurants and the vineyards. Best feature was the restaurant. Great meals and good selection of local wines. The sauerbraten and duck were superb.
Review 30:No tea or coffee in room was only thing wrong !
Review 31:Comfy bed Delicious breakfast with lots of lovely food to choose from Cleanliness Nice friendly staff No complaints
Review 32:When we arrived quite late we called the hotel from the station as there were no taxis in sight. The owner said he would call one but then turned up himself when he was told the wait would be at least 20 minutes. We were not charged for this service. It's a pleasant small hotel a short walk from the Rhein
Review 33:a little bit noisy( passing by cars) as it's located at the cross roads
Review 34:location not that bad if u don't mind the noise from the street. good breakfast.
Review 35:What a great find this hotel was. It was perfectly charming with lovelyattentive staff, spotlessly clean comfortable room. We had a room with abalcony which did get a little noisy one night but to be fair Germanyhad just won an amazing game in the World Cup so fully excused. We woulddefinitely stay here again if in the area.
Review 36:Location on hill was difficult for person with limited mobility. Staff with limited English made communicating difficult.
Review 37:Apartment was clean and comfortable, and the kitchen was well-equipped. Linens were changed in a timely fashion. View from balcony was terrific!
Review 38:Spacious rooms, clean, nice building, great breakfast, friendly helpful staff.
Review 39:Traffic noise overnight.

Review 41:Location was good- away from the busiest and noisiest parts of town, but within walking distance.

Review 60:Very porn internet in our rom, probably better nearer receptionarea. Disturbing!!!!!
Review 61:Location. Parking. WiFi

Review 63:The staff were lovely and recommended the local wine festival for dinner.
Review 64:Loved the quaintness of the town and the staff were great. Location was perfect and it felt like the room was sound proofed.

Review 67:Nothing worth mentioning here
Review 68:Friendly helpful staff. Comfortable room. Food breakfast. Parking on site.
Review 69:We enjoyed the room, location, restaurant and staff was very nice and helpful!
Review 70:Liked everything
Review 71:The owners take great pride in their hotel and offer wonderful hospitality. All the staff gave great service. We had all our meals at the hotel. The included breakfasts had a great variety and the dinners were gourmet at a reasonable price. Our room 214 was spacious and comfortable. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Review 72:We stayed here for 8 days in May. The hotel is in a convenient location to restaurants, transportation (train, ferries, Rhine River cruises), shopping and sites. Wilhelm, Sissy and all of their staff are friendly and were very helpful in trip planning and providing information on the area. The meals in the restaurant are fantastic and first-class. Wilhelm is an excellent chef. We highly recommend this hotel.
Review 73:Blinds not totally light excluding. Restaurant attracts many customers whicch could make parking an issue. Rooms outdated but comfortable,
Review 74:Proprietor very helpful. We had missed our flight and were a day late but he did not charge a no show fee. Food superb. Breakfast wonderful. Great breads. Located close to river and in town. Rooms spacious. Parking available free. Would come again. Quiet
Review 75:Very poor breakfast. No croissants, very little fruit available in buffet. The bath tap didnt work. Hotel lacks atmosphere.
Review 76:The location of hotel is excellent close to the Rhine , countryside and vineyards and short walk to town centre. The management and staff were very friendly and helpful. The staff in breakfast room were excellent in responding to clients requests. The rooms quiet and comfortable.Wifi easy to connect with good service.I would highly recommend this hotel, small intimate and family run.
Review 77:I would prefer a walk in shower as I found getting in and out of the bath/shower difficult. There was nothing to dislike.
Review 78:The friendly family atmosphere. The old Charm of the Hotel and its location. This is our second visit and we really enjoyed it.
Review 79:Have to close for holidays but gave us alternative solutions
Review 80:Inviting, friendly and with pleasant spaces. Delivery of a forgottenbelong in the room.
Review 81:The staff was great! Friendly and helpful. They do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. Breakfast layout was terrific. Lots of traditional favorites with meats, cheeses, and eggs as well as fruit, yogurt, and cereal. Big selection of breads and jams also.
Review 82:The single room I had was probably the smallest in the hotel (there seem to exist slightly larger ones). There was a smell of cigarette smoke, even though the room was declared a non-smoking room (obviously some earlier guest had breached the rules).
Review 83:location: not on main street, so it was quiet. Breakfast room/restaurant in "rustical" style. Breakfast buffet was ample and good. The bed had a rather firm mattress, which I liked.
Review 84:Internet access from room was unreliable. Owner is aware and working toremedy the situation. Access from lobby is ok.
Review 85:Family-owned and family-managed with care and attention. Rooms arecharming, well-furnished and clean. Breakfast buffet copious and varied. Also a restaurant in daytime and evening frequented by local people.
Review 86:The hotel staff was amazing. They were very helpful and made sure we were comfortable during our stay. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and included a very nice breakfast and WiFi. The Rhine river is just steps away and river trips are very easy to arrange. This is a great way to see the wonderful Castles along the river. We will stay there again.
Review 87:Room was very sparse, even for European standards. No amenities exceptfor the dual purpose shampoo/body wash that is so populate inEurope. No extra pillows, blankets, iron or laundry bags! Breakfast wasadequate but nothing special. Very limited parking....arrive early!Probably would look for another place if back in the area.
Review 88:Location was good. Located away from the noise of river and trains, butlocation for sights was very good. The staff was very friendly. Bedswere ok. Best part of this hotel was the price.
Review 89:There was no shower curtain beside the bathtub and the bathroom floor was soaked with hot water from the shower. The parking lot was quite crowded and we had to park on the street near the hotel.
Review 90:The atmosphere of the hotel was very romantic. The breakfast was tasty.
Review 91:After having been used to staying in apartments one room felt very small, but that was not the fault of the hotel. Everything was there that you needed for a night's stay
Review 92:The hotel was very convenient and the breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. Initially I thought it would have been nicer to be close to the river, but actually that also meant closer to the trains which ran constantly on both sides of the river. Being a bit back made it quieter. They allowed us to leave our luggage while we explored
Review 93:A little noisy from the road, but not an issue
Review 94:excellent help from the management who speek english good breakfast, and A good restaurant air condiioned room - (superior) it was very warm in july 2013 5 mins walk from old town and the river boats.
Review 95:What's to dislike?
Review 96:We have stayed here on 6 occasions now - nothing to really improve as this hotel has been updated recently. Staff and owner are extremely friendly
Review 97:Charming old hotel with each room different. The owners were present and very friendly. The breakfast was really good. And the hotel was within walking distance of Old Town. Wi-Fi was easy to connect.
Review 98:Small hotel in Rudesheim near the boat and ferry wharves for excursions to the Rhine Gorge or about 500 metres to the train station. A short walk into the town centre and close to cafes and other restaurants. Hotel has some off street parking available. There is also an onsite restaurant for evening meals. Comfortable rooms typical of a hotel of this standard.
Review 99:Kind of noices during The Night Could not leave balcony door open because the nice room was faced to the main road
Review 100:Very nice welcome , very helpfull staff , very good food .
Review 101:I liked everything about it
Review 102:Close proximety to the town/resort centre cinvenient for the Rhein trips and a good base for exploring the Rhein Valley and surrounding area
Review 103:Pour facilities in Rooms, very small bathroom and very smelly our friends did have a very large stained carpet ( 212) the balcony walls were covered in flies and spider web. the shade blinds over the balcony were terrible stained and dirty.
Review 104:good Location, good restaurant and breakfast facilities.
Review 105:Facilities (phones, TV) are insanely outdated but room clean overall.
Review 106:Very charming village and an outstanding place to start the river cruise from. we spent a night here and then headed up to Koblenz the next day. Free breakfast!
Review 107:Everything- the staff were very helpful and friendly and spoke English which was a bonus for us.The location was ideal for walking to the centre of Rudesheim and for the ferries and train. Beautiful hotel and location.
Review 108:It was clean, friendly, comfortable and the location was good although like most of the hotels within the town there is a fair amount of road and train noise. Fortunately it is one road back from the railway line and our room was located at the side/back of the hotel, hence the noise was less obvious. The balcony was not particularly user friendly or necessary. Breakfast was adequate and our only reserve was that we thought the internet listed it as a 4 star hotel when infact it is a 3 star. We didn't use the dining room in the evening so can't comment on their menu or service. I think this is typical of older style German hotels.
Review 109:We liked the warm welcome after a long hot journey. I asked for coffee and cake in our room and it was brought by the owner himself - delicious. I had read on the internet that we should try his snitzchel which was scrumptious so tried the rump steak and gorgonzola, which was recommended by Wilhelm, the following night for supper and were not disappointed as the food is excellent in the restaurant and made our trip to Rudesheim enjoyable. Sissy and Wilhelm's personal touch is hard to come by these days and we had lots to talk about as they love our home town of Cape Town.
Review 110:Staff was very friendly and helpful
Review 111:Great staff and good service
