Reviews for Hotel Rural Las Longueras
Review 1:The evening meal was served with warmth and passion but not of a very high standard.
Review 2:The wonderful old finca, with lots of family history; property is nestled in a beautiful valley with georgeous views, especially from the breakfast/bar verandah and swimming pool area; citrus groves; and cactus garden.
Review 3:The narrow road down to the house from the main road should be done something to. It was not pleasent to drive a car there.
Review 4:Lovely place, beautiful nature and a well kept garden and orange plantation. Breakfast was enjoyed in front of a stunning view towards the Agaete valley. A very helpful staff made us an excellent breakfast which included everything you need in the morning. We loved the peaceful surroundings also.
Review 5:The breakfast could be somewhat healthier, with more fresh fruits and juices rather than canned or bottled.
Review 6:Extremely nice staff. A beautiful house, very quiet location with great views. The hammocks by the pool are great for quiet relaxing.
Review 7:You need a car to get there. Not really a good option for invalid people. Unfortunately only WiFi in the public areas. WiFi is not very fast.
Review 8:Extremely helpful staff, good breakfast, nice dinner, beautiful building, nice atmosphere. I would love to come back here.
Review 9:Everything is perfect
Review 10:Everything, an autentic colonial house with a beautiful lush garden with mangoes avocados guyanas etc.. Peace and silence and a fantastic breakfast with fruits eggs yogurts omelettes and croissant all in an enchanting terrace. The staff is delightful.
Review 11:It's a shame they didnt have a restaurant and quality food to offer hungry guests. That would have made this place excellent. The breakfast was poor. Especially for someone who doesn't eat bread or meat.. Canned fruit and only yoghurt with sugar, and juice made from concentrate only. Sad really, especially considering their huge fruit yard, with all the ripe fruit laying underneath the trees just rotting away.
Review 12:The location is wonderful and the rural house itself is beautiful with all the unique rooms, the garden, swimming pool area etc. Could've been a dream weekend. Friendly but not very helpful or engaged staff. They didn't seem to have the passion for this very special place.
Review 13:Nothing to do with the hotel or location, but the council need to put better sign-age on how to find the hotel, as the streets in Agaete are very narrow, and are no help in getting you to the hotel.
Review 14:The beautiful location, and the fact that all the artifacts of this colonial home are on display, and can be looked at. The grounds are the loveliest place to forget about everything, just a great place to visit.
Review 15:The room was quite nice but not so clean in places. The bathroom however was a different matter . The toilet, although having a sanitized hygiene sticker on it, was found to have excrement in it. The bath clearly had not been cleaned as there was human hair in and around it. As for the shower head , this fell to bits in my hand when trying to adjust its position. Although advertised as a hotel, it had no bar. The grounds around the hotel including the pool needed a good tidy and the building itself, although full of character looked tired and needed some maintenance. Not quite as portrayed on the website!
Review 16:The beds were comfortable & clean. A small complementary bottle of wine in the room.
Review 17:The only thing I would change would be heating the swimming pool as in early May I found it very chilly and I would have liked to have been able to swim more during our stay
Review 18:This is an incredibly calm and peaceful place set in a beautiful valley. We were the only Brits there which was great too and in the nearby town Agaete no one really speaks English so it has a very local feel. Las Longueras is a really quirky hotel, definitely slightly shabby chic but I would rate it so much higher than your usual tourist experience
Review 19:This was our 5th visit. The rural location would be hard to beat (you'll need a car). The staff are polite, helpful and friendly. If you like warm rolls, croissants, meats, cheeses, fruit, cereal, yogurts, eggs cooked the way you like them, coffee, teas etc, you'll LOVE breakfast (served until 1030). I think there are only 10 or so rooms so the place never feels crowded. This place is a slice of heaven on Earth!
Review 20:This was a really charming property in a beautiful location. The views from the breakfast terrace overlooking orange groves and the lush Agaete valley were stunning. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Would love to return one day!
Review 21:Incredibly beautiful location. Exceptional grounds.
Review 22:Perfect location
Review 23:The beds were pretty uncomfortable - I didn't sleep well.
Review 24:The valley setting, the pool area and garden, and the very helpful staff.
Review 25:The peaceful location. The style of accommodation. The friendly faded grandeur of the place.
Review 26:WIFI is only in the area of the modem.
Review 27:Wonderful building in the most beautiful part of Gran Canaria. Idyllically situated.
Review 28:It's the perfect place to hang out for some days! Perfect for hiking! Very comfortable!
Review 29:The quiet and beautiful surroundings but mostly the friendly and helpful staff. Also the hotel had a variety of lovely rooms for relaxing.
Review 30:The accessibility by a landtrack
Review 31:Serviability of the personal and the staff A splendid environment A quite atmosfer
Review 32:On a few reviews I'd read before visiting there was mention of a dog barking; he's still there and starts at pretty much 7.30am in the morning and keeps going till 9.00 or 10.00. It's obviously a neighbours pet left at home and unhappy. If you don't mind early starts then this won't be a problem.
Review 33:A rural hotel situated in a beautiful valley just outside Agaete, a small & sleepy town. The staff at Longueras have achieved a relaxed and informal atmosphere with help there when needed & as much privacy as you'd prefer. The honesty bar is also a very nice touch with trust between staff & guests high. I would love to come back and visit this family friendly hotel and very much hope to do so with my husband & children.
Review 34:Having to leave! Apart from that, I suggested they do not put ashtrays out on the terrace during breakfast as it might discourage people from smoking as others are trying to eat.
Review 35:Our fourth stay at this wonderful hotel. You will definitely require a car if you stay here. If you like it peaceful - bar the odd excitable chicken - this is the place for you. Freshly squeezed OJ from the surrounding groves for breakfast. Lovely! If you're trying to locate the hotel at night you won't see it from the road. Just look out for the 2km marker on the right-hand side of the road. The turning down and to the right is shortly after the marker, and is signed.
Review 36:There was nowhere to get out of the (sometimes) strong wind. Perhaps a windbreak around the pool would have made a difference?
Review 37:The quiet location and relaxed atmosphere in an interesting building. Convivial dinners, good buffet breakfast; friendly and helpful staff.
Review 38:Minimal seating and room furnishings, with low lighting except atbedside. Finding the hotel was a challenge. In the middle of Agaete lookfor signs to Urb. La Sueate and highway gc-231 (see Google map with thislisting). Drive about 2 to 3 km from edge of town. Look for yellow houseabove road on left. Just before that is the Hotel Longueras sign on theright and a narrow gravel/dirt road down into and across the valley. The hotel is readily visible.
Review 39:This is an interesting 118 year-old mansion, converted to a b & bhotel. Large spacious bedroom room with 2 extra-large twin beds with ensuite bathroom, large closet with safe, and a few period furnishings.Attractive courtyards and gardens. Pool and surrounds have a beautifulview but the pool was closed for the season (February). Numerous sittingrooms/lounge areas and library for guests to use, including goodfree wi-fi. Very good self-serve breakfast with outdoor patio seating, endless excellent hot coffee and hot milk, and omelettes upon request.Dinner can be booked by 2 pm for same day with a fixed menu. If agrocery store is needed, a new Spar is located on the way from town toPuerto, in a new area on the right before the roundabout leading to thePuerto. Good all-day restaurants are located there. A most interestingand pleasant stay.
Review 40:If you arrive as a single person they give you the smallest room which is not really too nice - and you pay much more than have of a double. The garden is nice but nobody cares too much for it.
Review 41:Nice house with a big garden around
Review 42:Evening meal was indifferent, although we liked the mix of people who came together to eat. Staff friendly and relaxed, but sometimes a bit too 'laid back'.
Review 43:Ideal and beautiful location. Well appointed rooms and excellent additional facilities e.g sitting room and pool area. Good breakfast and excellent oranges.
Review 44:There is no mention that you need to go down an unmade lane of at least a kilometre before reaching the property. The lane is shockingly rough and uneven. You need to mention this in your blurb. This lane is for hire cars only, really. We went in our people carrier and it was just OK. Had we gone in our classic car, we would have cancelled on the spot from the top of the lane. Dinner very plain and basic, therefore overpriced. Absentee owners.
Review 45:Lovely staff, (Lourdes and Elsa particularly)excellent views and setting. Nice pool. Super little dog has taken up residence there recently. Big asset!
Review 46:Stepping back in time in this elegant hotel once owned by a wealthy Gran Canarian family. It was peaceful and the location in the Agaete valley was ideal for exploration, hiking and access to Puerto des Nieves.
Review 47:The reception is only open from about 10.00 - 16.00, The shower is poorfor a hotel from this kind, Wi-Fi is horrible, The price is about 50% tohigh; a price from about € 70,- per room is reasonable, not € 105,-
Review 48:Beautiful garden, kind staff (partly), original rooms
Review 49:There was nothing to dislike.
Review 50:A fabulous hotel in every respect: Lovely historic property, beautifullocation, friendly and very wonderful and local staff, comfortable roomswith loads of character, delicious food. We were recommended to LasLongueras by a friend who lives on Gran Canaria as the best place tostay if we wanted to walk in Gran Canaria. However, we were notexpecting exactly how wonderful a place it is. We hope to go back in thenot too distant future.
Review 51:Dinner in the evening was a bit expensive for what it was although it is nice to eat together with the other guests in the dining room.
Review 52:The building and the grounds of the Hotel are wonderful for a toddler, lots of different rooms and parts of the garden to discover. The place is immaculately kept and the staff are really friendly. The staff know the island well so they can direct you to the places of interest. The honesty fridge system makes you feel like a trusted part of their family which gives a lovely atmosphere to the place. The TV room with children's toys can keep your children busy in case it rains. From the hotel you can travel all around the island the South is an hour and a half away, Las Palmas 35 minutes.
Review 53:dinner too simple for money and bar is absent so when sitting at the pool, drinks have to be obtained in a tin from a mini fridge. self service. too simple and do not help to increase experience of sitting at the beautiful pool
Review 54:location, setting, atmosphere
Review 55:For babies maybe not that ideal as we did, because you have to carry them quite a lot due to uneven surfaces and steep steps. A rental car is preferable because of it's rural location.
Review 56:Ideal location near beach, nature and historic places. Away from all the noisy tourists in the south and tucked away between orange groves and palm trees. Very good breakfast and lovely dinner option.
Review 57:Finding the approach road is difficult if attempted for first time at night. Quality of evening meal is modest - but general quality of local restaurants is also weak.
Review 58:Good breakfast. Great views. Grounds and pool area are attractive. Polite service.
Review 59:Perhaps the bathroom/shower could use a little update.
Review 60:It's a very charming, relaxing place in a beautiful green landscape; feels very authentic, nice pool, very friendly staff - in short, surely a place to recommend.
Review 61:Absolutely everything. It was a lovely hotel in a beautiful location. Staff were friendly, food was excellent. Rooms were beautifully decorated with stylish antique furniture. Beds were very comfortable. We booked a further night as we were so happy with the hotel and we would definitely return.
Review 62:Don't expect luxury in terms of rooms. It's an old house and noises from other rooms and from outside can be easily heard. However, the place is small with only few rooms and other guests seemed very smart and considerate. The hotel restaurant opens only at 13.30, which can be a rather late time for lunch for some. If you want to get some other food than what is offered at the hotel, you need to drive some 4-5 km to the harbor of Agaete. The pool area is really nice and tranquil, but the pool isn't heated so be prepared for cold water in the winter.
Review 63:A great hotel offering something totally different than what most of Canaries do. The hotel is located in a relatively rural area with no resort hotels or other tourists nearby. The view to the mountains and the large garden of the hotel is simply fabulous. If you like hiking, there's a good access to several hiking routes to the mountains. The house itself is very well decorated and especially the common rooms make you feel like you're in an old mansion.
Review 64:The snack bar area can seem a bit over-run with cats looking hungrily for titbits and the crockery at breakfast could have been a bit cleaner.
Review 65:This is an attractive small hotel up a valley set among orange groves so is quite peaceful. It has a nice swimming pool in pleasant grounds but it's not heated and the sun does disappear behind the hill at 4pm in winter. There is a spacious sitting room and rooms are large and comfortably furnished with clean shower-rooms and minibars. The outside snack bar where breakfast is served also provides self-service snacks and hot and cold drinks during the day. Breakfast includes cold meats and cheese, bread, cake, cereal, yogurts and fantastic pressly squeezed orange juice. There is a reasonably priced evening meal which is served in the convivial dining room on large tables to encourage guests to mingle but there are also plenty of seafood restaurants in the nearby port.
Review 66:Needed tlc.change of coffee and evening menu.re organising.
Review 67:Tranquility
Review 68:The food was mediocre.
Review 69:Everything for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. The staff were very welcoming and helpful.
Review 70:No wi-fi in bedrooms.
Review 71:Loved the character of the old building. Set in beautiful surroundings in Agaete Valley.
Review 72:Nothing.
Review 73:Everything. The charming, helpful staff. The beautiful surroundings. Great breakfasts. Comfort of bed and lovely sitting room.
Review 74:Perfect hotel and location for a quite retreat and peace and quiet
Review 75:It's a beautiful old building and the staff is very nice
Review 76:Location was remote but easy to jump in car and get elsewhere. Building beautiful. Food wonderful. Staff ver friendly.
Review 77:The road to the hotel is improvable.
Review 78:Lovely accomodation where one simply likes to spend the day. Veryfriendly staff. Nice breakfast.
Review 79:lovely location, accomodation and surroundings. Friendly efficient staff
Review 80:It lived up to the photographs and description. It was quiet and beautiful.
