Reviews for Altdeutsche Weinstube
Review 1:Nothing
Review 2:Everything! This is the second time we have stayed and it was just a good as we remembered. I was traveling with my partner and mother-in-law and we were given a great suite. It was perfect for three adults. The breakfast every morning was fantastic. If you stay at the hotel you should have dinner there one night! It's fantastic traditional German food. It is the only place we'd stay in Rüdesheim!
Review 3:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast and dinner were excellent! We were a short walking distance to the boat trips and the town. There is free parking in Parking 5 and 7.
Review 4:Nothing bad to say. I would stay here again.
Review 5:Very friendly and professional staff. Nice location for access to the the main drag and the Rhine River Tours.
Review 6:No windows in room. No coffee pot in room. Coffee not very good at breakfast. No kid friendly food at restaurant for dinner. No bathtub in very small bathroom. Elevator smelled like cigarette smoke.
Review 7:The staff tried very hard to take care of us but language was an issue. The first night we tried to get extra pillows but none of the staff spoke English. The room was spacious with two beds (Jr. Suite) but it only had sky lights - no windows. This made the room quiet and dark, but we had to run the air conditioner even though it was cool outside at night. There was no coffee pot or option to get a refigerator. The management did offer a different room with a kitchen and bathtub, but it only had one real bed (not an option with 2 kids) They also very kindly provided us with an electric kettle so that we could at least make hot water for tea. The bathroom was very small and was alone on the first floor of the suite with beds and small sitting area on the second level.
Review 8:Nothing.
Review 9:Everything, food, staff, the cleanliness were ideal and the hotel being in the town was perfect, a really friendly family who could not do enough for you were the owners.
Review 10:We were a group of 7 with old people and infant travelled to Rüdesheim and staying 2 nights in Altdeutsche Weinstube. We met a terrible experience when we took the cable car to the mountain. But it was a storm coming suddenly when we were on the way back and the cable car just stuck in the air for 45mins. It's heavy rain like bullet, strong wind, cable car swing like going to fall down, the most terrible was the lightning! What we can do were just keep praying for the whole 45mins. Luckily we were being save and back to the station. But we all wet and back to hotel after Rescue staffs from local ambulance. But we all wet from top to toes. The lady boss of the hotel help us to dry our clothes during the night time and she is really a good owner. She don't even charge me a cents for this! We were so appreciate what she did for us and actually they also suffer from the flood of the storm. Their B1 was flooded and they keep cleaning it when we back to the hotel. Although they are not 5 stars hotel, but their kindness can awarded with 10 stars! Thank you!
Review 11:First time ever I,ve paid for wifi. 5 euro's per day.
Review 12:It is a nice hotel in a good location Nice room, clean, good breakfast, secure parking. Good wifi.
Review 13:The room was spacious and very clean. The location was a short walk to the boat docks and a short walk to the cable car. The restaurant was very good.
Review 14:The price is a little high. 价格稍高,这次旅行中9家酒店,除了巴黎的,这家是最高的。
Review 15:Location, decoration style, clean room, lovely restaurant and breakfast, kind hostess and staff.
Review 16:We stayed at the Altdeutsche Weinstube from 21-24 November 2014. We were warmly welcomed on arrival, and our room (217) at the front of the hotel was quiet, clean and very comfortable. The breakfast each morning was very generous and they catered for my gluten free requirements with no difficulty at all (I had let them know about the GF in the original booking). This family-run hotel has a delightful restaurant and the evening meals were delicious. Our German is a bit limited, but the staff at the hotel were more than happy to help us out and had no problem in conversing in considerably better English than our German. Nothing was too much trouble. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a clean, comfortable, quiet, well-run, well priced and friendly hotel. The hosts and staff are all so helpful and welcoming. If we find ourselves in Rudesheim area again, we would definitely book the Altdeutsche Weinstube with no hesitation at all. Vielen Dank for a lovely stay!
Review 17:Rooms very clean, beds very comfortable. Food in restaurant very good, when we arrived it was fish week at hotel & food & wine very good. All in all a thoroughly pleasant short break at the altdeutsce weinstube
Review 18:Wifi cost extra and did not go up to the 3rd floor; dinner in restaurant was ok, but not great...better places to eat further towards the river
Review 19:Rooms and breakfast were very good; staff was great. Good parking.
Review 20:An excellent breakfast but I arrived Wednesday and the restaurant was closed. They proposed me a bakery in the corner to eat even something light. The heat was closed when I arrived. The water was with gaz. Before going there if it is Wednesday take with you something to eat.
Review 21:Loved it all.
Review 22:The staff were exceedingly helpful and friendly. Evening meals were delicious - the local mushroom soup is outstanding, better than we had anywhere else! Breakfast had a good selection, something for everyone. Our room was excellent; new, clean and very comfortable. Great location; easily walkable from the train station or river and right on the edge of the town centre, without the noise. All local highlights close-by. Our thanks to the management and entire staff.
Review 23:restaurant closed on our night but very good meal at your recommended alternative
Review 24:excellent parking knowledgeable friendly staff easy access from car park everything really
Review 25:the staff did not treat guess as guess but like teacher in school to student. The attitude of staff should be improved to their guess.
Review 26:good food, clean room and comfortable
Review 27:Location to train and everything in the downtown area makes it an excellent choice. The breakfast is one of the best in Europe that we have had and the same for the bed.
Review 28:Staff were very friendly and helpful and the whole hotel was extremely clean.
Review 29:Nog bar at the hotel, but, on the other side of the road you find 2 bars!
Review 30:Very clean en comfortable room!
Review 31:the host was very nice.
Review 32:a little bit expensive.
Review 33:the room is clean and the place is perfect. Room is large enough for 4 people.
Review 34:Good location very helpful staff excellent evening meal
Review 35:Excellent restaurant really friendly, knowledgable and multilingual staff
Review 36:Had requested for a quiet room. I was above the terrace where people were loud till over 2 am. Shower kept going from scalding hot to freezing
Review 37:Walks around the country side and leisurely meals in the town
Review 38:One more chair in seating area for four people.
Review 39:Small apartment like room. Very quiet and comfortable. Newly renovated.
Review 40:You did not cater for my type of traveller. My visit was with my brother both aged 70 plus
Review 41:Beautiful hotel ,great food ,nice staff
Review 42:Friendly and chatty owners and staff Excellent food Lovely atmosphere
Review 43:Flat screen missed.
Review 44:Roon for 4 persons had the size of An appartment. Good breakfast and diner.
Review 45:It will be nicer if they have easy access to wifi (there was a charge and not accessible from the room.)
Review 46:parking is not free
Review 47:staff, room, breakfast good
Review 48:Nothing to fault with this hotel
Review 49:Dinners were excellent and very good value.
Review 50:Great place nice people
Review 51:Friendly staff, nice and clean rooms, located right at the edge of the historic town center
Review 52:Wifi is not available in the room and not free of charge.
Review 53:No air conditioning, bathroom on another level
Review 54:Good size rooms
Review 55:Very friendly and welcoming staff. Gave excellent advice about the area and what to do. Super and delicious breakfast.
Review 56:room small for price and overlooks a very ugly view.
Review 57:quiet, good breakfast, friendly staff
Review 58:Good location and lovely restaurant
Review 59:We liked everything, recommend this hotel to my friends!!!
Review 60:Rooms are very modest. In the end, I believe they charge too much for what they offer.
Review 61:Clean. Breakfast very good. Staff very efficient.
Review 62:No air condition and the electronic window opener did not function so it was very hot in the room. The interiors of the room were ugly and the bed was terribly soft. No vegetables (lettuce, cucumber, tomatos...) at the breakfast. The wi-fi didn't work in the room, only in the corridors.
Review 63:Although we knew there were additional charges for WiFi, those fees seemed excessive since we had multiple devices we needed to connect.
Review 64:Excellent location, comfortable room.
Review 65:Loved everything..no dislikes.
Review 66:Front desk staff very friendly..especially Julia! Very helpful andattentive to complaints, read the need of her guests very well!Elfi...awesome hostess!Breakfasts awesome and scrumptious!
Review 67:Loved everything but did not realize we needed a reservation for dinner. It was fully booked the night we wanted to eat there.
Review 68:Loved our suite; great breakfast selections; friendly helpful staff. The location was perfect (but the streets to get to it were very narrow). We were there before the start of the tourist season so we got a great parking place. Easy to walk all over town from there. The only hotel of the six we stayed in that truly had a German feel to the room; nicely decorated with beautiful old beams & woodwork.
Review 69:Lovely, old-style building in the front and large, freshly decorated, rooms at the back. Very confortable, all you need is there: TV, safe, hair drier... and very confortable bed. And colour... we love that! The staff is friendly and helpful, the breakfast buffet satisfying. The hotel is very centrally located, few minutes walking distance from bars, restaurants, Rhein promenade, train station. We really enjoyed our stay... next time we'll try the restaurant! Good value for money too.
Review 70:The room had very little character. The hotel had a large tour group while we were there and the staff had trouble keeping up during meals.
Review 71:The staff was very nice. We got there mid-afternoon on a Sunday and the dining room was closed. However, they opened the room for us, served us wine and a very nice cheese plate. Our room was small but clean. Wi-Fi worked well. Breakfast was included and very good. We were only a 10 minute walk from the Drosselgasse. Our room was in back and very quiet but no view.
Review 72:Some items not available in restaurant but it was a Sunday in November so not holding it against them!
Review 73:The staff were all very helpful and professional. Lovely location in old town area shame we arrived too late to enjoy most of it! Food in restaurant good.
Review 74:We loved the traditional restaurant and amazing breakfasts. The locationcould not have been better. A Scottish bar and another Wine Tastingestablishment were right out the front door, including a café. We woulddefinitely recommend and looking forward to our next stay.
Review 75:I found nothing to dislike about the hotel
Review 76:I enjoyed everything about the hotel the rooms were comfortable and clean and well equipped the staff were friendly and helpfull the breakfast was very good with a wide selection for every taste
Review 77:The bathroom floor was not swept or mopped well and it looked as if it was cleaned in a hurry. The mattresses were very firm and not very comfortable.
Review 78:The location is great. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is fantastic! The hotel is located in a quiet area. They offer convenient parking.
Review 79:Good location as only 10 minutes walk from the railway station and 2 blocks from the riverfront. Very comfortable as room at the top of old building and on 2 floors so ideal with an older child downstairs on bed settee. Lovely views of the River Rhine and surrounding vineyards. Quite hotel with very helpful staff and excellent traditional Restaurant.
Review 80:New(2013) bedroom. Great design and finish. Quiet . Combine modern with traditional hotel. On very edge of Rudeishe so convenient for centre, boats and trains. Good car parking.
Review 81:rooms are having cheap furniture; the 2 beroom+living room suite is in reality only 1 closed bedroom, 1 open room and the living room contains only one cheap small sofa. Don't know how they think 4 people could live there?
Review 82:location very good; breakfast o.k.
Review 83:- Located on quite a busy street so rooms at the front might be quite noisy (we were at the back) - the hotel floor plan is a labyrinth and some corridors were quite dark
Review 84:- Great breakfast - Staff speak English and are knowledgeable about the area - Supermarket just around the corner - 10 minutes walk from the train station
Review 85:The hotel overlooks a busy street, noisy. There are other rooms in the hotel that would be quieter, but have no air conditioning
Review 86:The air conditioning as an extra option
Review 87:Nothing to complain of.
Review 88:Family-run hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast selection. Comfortable rooms, if a little on the small side. Good location near the centre of Rudesheim, but away from the busy railway line on the river frontage.
Review 89:BBC1 on the TV would have been a pleasant option to have, only a minor issue
Review 90:The staff were very helpful, serving us promptly at breakfast and on the one evening we ate in. It was lovely to sit out in the open courtyard and enjoy mostly wonderful weather. The staff suggested where we could cycle when we enquired about hiring bikes and greeted us as friends when we chanced upon them on our journey. We had the bonus of having two of the new rooms which opened in only April 2013 and were very comfortable and stylish
Review 91:Location was really central breakfast was good rooms clean and comfortable and staff were extremely helpfull and knowledgeable in helping us with a Rhine cruise definitely worth staying At this lovely hotel and try their own wine
Review 92:The town seemed really impacted by people passing through on either river cruise ships or buses. Sometimes it was really crowded, other times dead.
Review 93:The proximity to wine country was nice.
Review 94:The hotel staff were very friendly, the rooms were very large and comfortable, the location was excellent. We arrived late and the staff facilitated this, my room was on a different fllor from my friends, and they upgraded me so that I could be with them. Good breakfast also.
Review 95:Hot room, no fan and a lot of traffic and train noise etc when windowleft open. Wifi was advertised on booking.com as being included. Thishas changed and a charge is now made - they were eventually persuaded tohonour our booking terms.
Review 96:Good Food
Review 97:The beds (mattresses) sank so much to induce back pains.
Review 98:The room was very clean and spacious. The hotel is located close to the city center, but not in the pedestrian zone, which is positive. The staff was friendly.
Review 99:Outdated room decor, no free parking
Review 100:Overall not too bad but I can’t get over the impression that it was overpriced for what it was – obviously being in Rüdesheim means that you have to pay more than in other towns for your hotel.Hotel is centrally located, 5 minutes away from the river, 10 minutes from the main square and 15 minutes’ walk from Drosselgasse. Outside and in the restaurant it has the rustic look you would expect from the region. Extension is currently being built to offer more rooms – to be finished in March 2013 so well before the crowds will arrive and before the noise would upset anybody.Room was big enough and clean and there was a small bathroom with shower. Our room was overlooking a wall and the construction and it was quiet but on the other hand it was probably better than having room facing the road and the busy Scotisch pub which probably should have been named Irish pub with all the Guinesse it was serving. We weren’t impressed with the décor in the rooms – really outdated. Bed was comfortable but looked like something transported from the 70’s, so were all the other furniture and soft furnishings. When booking we have seen some newly decorated rooms but weren’t lucky enough to get one. There were no toiletries, not even a tiny soap bar in the room which you would expect for the price we have paid. Because of the construction we couldn’t use the hotel car park (normally priced at 5 euros per night) which upset us a bit as it was not mentioned anywhere on the website. There is a car park right next to the hotel but there is a hefty charge to pay if you are staying between 9-18, you can offload your car and take luggage to hotel as 20 minutes is free and after that there are 2 car parks within walking distance (turn left at the bottom of the street, drive for about 250m and turn right under the viaduct – look for P7 and P5 car park which are free). Free wi-fi is only available in the tiny hotel lobby and restaurant but despite our efforts we were never able to connect to it.
Review 101:The hotel was centrally located and easy to find. The staff were very friendly and always happy to help. The food (breakfast and evening meals) were of a high quality and reasonably priced and served in a decorative restaurant which was very warm and welcoming. Our room was very comfortable and layed out over two floors which gave us lots of room to move around so we didnt feel cramped. Overall a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.
Review 102:Seemed short staffed so had to wait for someone to come to the front desk to help you.
Review 103:Loved the room layout. Very cool setup. Great beds, nice shower, nice to have two tvs and a wonderful restaurant as well.
Review 104:The location was optimal for visiting Rudesheim. We were so close to all the action in the town, access to travel on the river, shopping, restaurants. Free parking fairly close to the hotel - a huge plus. And a lovely winery, Carl Erhard, around the corner with wine tastings and an amazing cellar.
Review 105:Nothing to complain about
Review 106:It was a very nice hotel and a very good value. The breakfast was outstanding. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant as well--very good with good and interesting local wines that one can't get in the US. Staff was super friendly and very helpful. Great location--we took a wonderful walk from the hotel to the Denkmal--wonderful views of the Rhine river valley,
Review 107:We liked everything.
Review 108:Smallish family run hotel right on the edge of the cente and a short walk from the Rhine. Staff were warm, friendly and helpful. The room was well appointed and comfortable with a good en-suite. There was a cracking restaurant and the food was superb and well priced. We enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer.
Review 109:Car parking, due to building extension work to the hotel, was limited, so we had to park in the public car park nearby. It is only about 30m from the hotel entrance, but the car park is potentially insecure, if you have concerns about your car's contents. However, the building work will be finished, and hopefully, the car park reinstated. Along with the lack of car parking, the builders did start at about 7am, so providing a wake-up call to us. Again, this is only temporary.
Review 110:Easy to find. Excellent location, away from the tacky tourist shops, but not out of the centre, so easy to walk around the town. Very helpful staff. Restaurant as part of the hotel was fine, offering good quality food and drink. Breakfast was also excellent. We stayed only 1 night, on the way to visit friends. It was our first time in Ruedesheim,
Review 111:1. The water is not enough hot for taking a bath in the weather. 2. The public region of the second building should also put a WIFI AP for customer to use. 3. As a 3-star hotel, the capability with price value (C/P) is very low.
Review 112:We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. We booked a double room, but were given a two floor loft with a great view of the river. This room would easily accommodate 3-4 people, since there was also a sofa bed on the bottom floor. Breakfast was good and they even made me cappuccino when I asked for one. A very pleasant stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Review 113:The hotel was very nice and well-located into the shopping district. Parking was extremely convenient in a limited access lot..the best thing about the hotel was the friendly staff who went beyond the call to make our stay pleasant.
Review 114:Centrally located but near two railway lines with trains running frequently including all night and adjacent to busy noisy road making sleeping very difficult -would not have booked hotel if we had known about the noise problem - in our opinion really only suitable for a one night stopover - sorry to be negative but our holiday was really spoilt by the noise !
Review 115:We did not stay at the main building of hotel. It is 500m away from the main building. The room is located at the noise stree and the room is old. I would suggest to book the room at the main building of hotel.
Review 116:Breakfast is good.
