Reviews for Hotel Canada Palace

Review 1:Well, the price quality ratio is simply horribly bad. The hotel has a filthy kitchen. I know because by accident ran into it while going down the stairs as the elevators are constantly blocked. The knifes and forks are dirty in the dining room. This dining room resembles an Italian coffee shop at the auto strada. I feel that apart from having had a bad day in lousy hotel I pad 260 euros a night what is 230 euros to much. Would appreciate if booking.com investigates the matter. I have booked meanwhile for over 10k Eur hotels in the last years. Thanks.

Review 2:The location of the hotel in a tourist zone is as expected

Review 3:The only thing I could complain about are the mattresses which are definitely in need of a four star update, ouch!

Review 4:My 12 year old daughter and I booked a room for a few days during August at the Hotel Canada Palace. We couldn't keep from gaping at everything! The sixties faux palatial lobby, the grand staircase, the fabulous art collection, even the charming front desk kid (the owners grandson) was right out of a Wes Anderson film. The room was generously sized and filled with truly majestic pink and gold furnishings, crisp white linens and gleaming marble tiled floors. Everything was truly spotless. The outdoor pool was wonderful, as was the bar and drink terrace. Most of the servers, the ladies especially, were charming and helpful. Drinks were about the same as any restaurant prices, and well worth it to sip while in view of the pool. We opted for full board, and we're not disappointed. The Mediterranean options for lunch and dinner such as fresh grilled fish, roasted eggplant or grilled peppers were tasty, and the salad bar was fresh and varied. Of course, if you wanted to eat sad French fries and burgers every meal, there is that option too, but seriously, why? The hotel also offers a billiards table, a lending library, a children's playground and parking onsite. The staff are on a first name basis with the returning families, who seem to come back every year. I hope to join them, and bring the rest of my family next year! The beach at Calafell is amazing, and this quirky hotel is one of a kind.

Review 5:The noisy trainstation close by since we hade the balcony towards the railway, does not disturb during the night though when balcony is closed. No ice machine. The heat was overwhelming.... Wifi only worked by the pool.

Review 6:Nice location, nice pool. Good cleaning.

Review 7:The Dinner buffet was not satisfactory we had a half board but ate out every evening. The cleaners where very noisy in the mornings moving beds/Furniture around, it was difficult to sleep in.

Review 8:The staff where highly helpful and polite. The hotel/Pool was very clean. The location was fantastic. Free wifi along with other perks like free beach towels and inflatables.

Review 9:minor details to be improved as for variety of food (there should be more vegetables and dairy).

Review 10:So far, it is our only experience in the Spanish Mediterranean coast where they really care about providing a good service to the guests. Even though we experienced an inconvenience at our arrival, the staff reacted very promptly and gave us an upgrade as compensation. Very good location, close to beach and to railways station (useful for excursions). Comfortable parking. All in all, a fair deal. If we are back in that area, we will choose it again.

Review 11:Food needed greater variety, e.g breakfast fruit was lacking grapes, grapefruit, apricots etc., and evening meals were very similar every day. Having to pay for pool, aquagym, tennis was dissapointing. My main complaint is the constant noise. From breakfast onwards there was piped music wherever you went, and at times the PA system by the pool was playing at the same time. In the evening the entertainment generally went on till 11pm or later, even though the sign in the lift said silence was requested from 10pm - 8am. Every day the music was practically the same. There was nowhere to go for quiet and a restful setting. This may not be a problem to some but took the edge of the whole experience for me.

Review 12:A bright and clean hotel, very polite and helpful staff, swimming pool was well maintained. The food was quite varied and well cooked (if a little too oily). The room was smart and kept very clean.

Review 13:Always same food for breakfast. The food is pretty oily. French fries at all 3 meals.

Review 18:Poco animación en el hotel. Muy sosos

Review 19:Muy buena comida

Review 20:Billing unclear due to discrepancy between Booking.com and locally interpreted charges in the end corrected. Unreliable wifi connection

Review 21:Location, rooms, hall & pool areas, dining room

Review 22:Poor wi-fi signal in the room, which is compensated with a good connection in the lobby bar, serving good and cheap cocktails .

Review 23:We liked our stay very much. The personal is very hospital. As we were coming late in the evening, I sent a letter asking if there would be some food. And we were really surprised, when we were lead to the restaurant immediately upon our arrival, yet it was already closed! The food is excellent and various, the room was clean and nice and the sea is just a couple of minutes from the hotel.

Review 24:Well, u get what u pay for don't ya?! Drinks not included in "all inclusive"!
