Reviews for Hotel Casa Don Fernando

Review 1:Nothing

Review 2:Great location right on main square of old town We were changed to a quiet room on 4th floor (I think she looked at us oldies & reckoned , rightly, that we'd prefer quiet to being in the middle of the action!

Review 3:A little tricky to get to with a car, you can't drive to the hotel no matter what your GPS says, just park in the recommended car park

Review 4:Location right on the square, good size room, didn't have the breakfast but lots of Cafes on the doorstep

Review 5:Glass door on the bathroom might be a design statement, but we would have liked more privacy in a triple room. More lighting also needed.

Review 6:Best possible location. Very Stylish hotel -we had a large triple room in the eaves with loads of space

Review 7:Although the rooms have windows to reduce the noises sometimes during the night we heard some people sreaming in the street

Review 8:Good value for money, it's situated in Caceres Plaza Mayor and the room was comfortable. Nice view from the balcony

Review 9:Tricky to find with restricted street access. Directions to the'tourist' parking garage would have saved some time andaggravation.Arrived around 3 and the town was shut down for siesta with nowhere to get anything to eat until 8! Just wanted a sandwich or something but the best we could get was peanuts with a beer. If there was an option outside the Plaza, the hotel staff offered no suggestions and we asked. Would have been nice for hotel restaurant to offer something during the VERY long siesta break. This was not a problem in any other Spanish city we visited.

Review 10:Fantastic location right on Plaza Mayor. Nice room.

Review 11:The sole bad thing is that when i have arrived the man at the reception told me we had parking included in the room and thus i moved my car from a free spot to the parking only to find out i had to pay 10 eur to the hotel for the said parking on mu checkout! That was real bad.

Review 12:Everything else was great

Review 13:Corporate hotel and maybe a bit charm free.

Review 14:Smart, comfortable, central, clean, helpful staff. Very good location to explore old town Caceres and good value for money. Would stay there again.

Review 15:Parking available nearby but unsuitable for motorcycles as narrow, sloping, cobbled streets as well as one way systems to navigate. Cars/motorcycles can park temporarily by hotel to drop off luggage and obtain map from helpful staff to Public car park but involves navigating above to get there. Some noise into early hours from bars surrounding, but perhaps to be expected on a warm Saturday night and shutting windows helped. Lovely plaza and central location made up for it.

Review 16:Lovely location in main square.

Review 17:Guests need to be aware that the hotel is difficult to find, even with satnav, and parking is a 5-minute walk away.

Review 18:The hotel is in a great location on the main square, facing the historic old town of Cáceres. We had a very spacious room overlooking the square.

Review 19:Excellent location , specious and spotless DBL+SNGL room, modern fittings and toiletries in the bathroom, generous and very tasty breakfast, helpful lady in Reception who helped us to find a lots of interesting places in Cacerez, international channels on TV in the room

Review 20:Location is ideal as in the center of the plaza and across from the magnificent medieval city. As a WOMAD concert was scheduled, the hotel staff alerted us and sent driving and garage information to help us arrive easily.

Review 21:Modern decor doesn't really go with surroundings. Motion sensored lighting doesn't always work properly.

Review 22:Location, bathroom, bed, air conditioning.

Review 23:nothing.

Review 24:excellent location, right on main square, large room, with great view ( we had a superior room for the view). very helpful staff, nice breakfast.

Review 25:The location, right on Plaza Mayor. The decor style of the hotel and the room. The historic ambience of the place. Great breakfasts. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 26:The only negative was the distance from car parking to the hotel.

Review 27:The immediate area was most enjoyable. The hotel was clean and very comfortable. The staff was friendly and efficient.

Review 28:-nothing that I can think of

Review 29:-great location at Plaza Major -great service -great room located with a view of the old town -daily updated tourist information in the room

Review 30:Modest selection at breakfast.

Review 31:The location in the Plaza Mayor as well as the exceptional reception staff make this hotel a good choice for your stay in Cáceres. Reasonably priced, too. Would stay here again.

Review 32:Wish I knew why these hotels call two cots pushed together a double bed. Bathroom has beautiful design-magazine-level fixtures but is put together in such a way that to minimize convenience and comfort. Toilet jammed between counter and wall. Shower/bath has only a glass half wall to contain spray, thus inevitable wet floor after shower. Sharp corners everywhere. Drunks hang out under window yelling and singing and nobody does anything about it. Fortunately, I'm a night owl.

Review 33:Quiet. Close to everything. Friendly, helpful staff. Good wifi.

Review 34:A shower that flooded the room anD required serious acrobatics to turn on. Also, finding and accessing the off site parking lot.

Review 35:God location right on Plaza Mayor

Review 36:we couldn't sleep because of booming music from the tent in the square - not your fault!

Review 37:beautiful hotel, clean, lovely breakfast, efficient and helpful staff, great location, wonderful city

Review 38:The triple room was really spacious and very nicely furnished. However, since it was in the highest floor, and maybe because we required a peaceful room, it had a pitched roof. Inside the room, this sloping ceing was made in wood. It was very beautiful, but little practical. We bumped into the wood more than once, and it really hurts for a while. It was probably due to our clumsiness, but with a little baby you have to get up several times at night, and being sleepy and in darkness conditions, this happens :(

Review 39:Location is perfect. Staff are really kind and helpful. Facilities in general are really good.

Review 40:The beds are on wheels, so roll away from the wall when you try to sit up to read in bed!

Review 41:This hotel is a wonderful blend of charming old design and interesting new design. Staff was gracious and professional. We stayed on two different occasions during a one week period, and each time the rooms were spotless, spacious, and lovely. Breakfasts provided a wide assortment of delicious food, coffee served at our table by professional and attentive staff, and was a very good bargain, compared to other places we stayed in Spain. Caceres has a lovely old walled city, and this hotel is right across the plaza from the entrance, and is also located within steps of many restaurants on the plaza. The hotel's restaurant a few doors down was excellent. Worth every bit of the trouble it took to navigate to the hotel and parking garage, should have called ahead to get directions rather than relying on Google maps.

Review 42:Waiter/manager of the breakfast room, not friendly and not attentive.

Review 43:Good beds and bed linen, nice staff at check-in, room and bathroom were very clean, lots of choice at the breakfast buffet, location could not have been better, right in the middle of museums, churches, narrow cobblestone roads, great restaurants with good tapas.

Review 44:the only thing that we didn,t like was the parking location and not been able to unload our luggage next to the hotel apart from that everything else was brillliant

Review 45:the hotel.s location was absolutly brilliant couldn,t off asked for a better staring point to our visit breath taking views of the historical enclosure

Review 46:The lack of onsite hotel car parking may worry some. Our rental car's GPS could not help us locate the hotel - not the fault of the hotel of course - but prepared for a few issues in finding street directions. We overcame our problems by keying in the nearby Obispo Galarza public carpark, which is the best option for hotel car parking anyhow.

Review 47:We loved Caceres, especially the historic part of the town where you will find Hotel Casa Don Fernando. The hotel is situated right on the town plaza, with many interesting tourist highlights located within a short walking distance. There are many options for eating and drinking nearby, and visitors with a passion for exploring small retail clothing and fashion businesses will have plenty to seek out as well. Parking and vehicle access are very limited in the neighbourhood but the joys of being close to the action in this great little town more than make up for those shortcomings. The staff are helpful and friendly; the hotel facilities clean and well maintained.

Review 48:Breakfast ok, but fairly chaotic. Parking not possible on site; inevitable given the excellent location.

Review 49:Great location in the Plaza Major. Very cheerful and helpful staff,

Review 50:Everything was great: location, staff, room size, breakfast. I'd strongly recommend this hotel. Next time I travel to Cáceres I'll definitely stay in Casa Don Fermando.

Review 51:Signage for hotel misleading so take telephone number and be guided in by staff.

Review 52:Value for money, excellent location in the heart of the town, and attentive and helpful staff. Bedroom and facilities excellent and nothing too Much trouble to make our stay enjoyable.

Review 53:Difficult to find. The hotel had an excellent map which they should put on the web site, it's a bit late getting it when you've spent half an hour driving in circles.

Review 54:Everything about the hotel was good. Lovely staff. Lovely room, excellent shower. Good breakfast.

Review 55:The breakfast menu wasn't that good.

Review 56:The location can not be beat. Right opposite the main gate to the old town, located on the impressive Plaza Major. The superior double room size was excellent.

Review 57:This hotel was right on the Plaza Mayor , a stone's throw from the old city. We had an excellent room and the staff were friendly and helpful. Fantastic.

Review 58:Quite noisy outside on a saturday night! ALL NIGHT! And lots of bell ringing from very very early. Tip! Bring ear plugs and neither bother you!

Review 59:Got room 303. Amazing view of Plaza!

Review 60:Sound insulation from outside noise wasn't somewhat poor.

Review 61:Perfect location for a stay in Caceres right on the main plaza. Staff was very gracious and helpful. Room was recently remodeled and quite nice.

Review 62:Very friendly staff who remembered us during our entire stay. the hotel is right on the main plaza so it's very central and easy to walk to the old Caceres town. The room, while not as big as the other ones we stayed, was comfortable and clean. Be sure to download the map of parking garage from the website in advance because it's not possible to drive to the hotel directly.

Review 63:It was our first time driving in this city and we got lost so many times...

Review 64:We stayed here for one night and it was a last minute decision. This old city is very beautiful and interesting and our hotel was just in the middle of it, with plenty of restaurants, bars and shops close by. However it was still quiet as we had a side street room. The bed is ample and very comfortable. The buffet breakfast provided everything I desired.

Review 65:You have a glass door for the bathroom. So no privacy at all. Mattress are not the most comfortable.

Review 66:Location

Review 67:Excellent value accomodation in a great location

Review 68:Insufficient desk space & chairs in the room & counter space in the bathroom.

Review 69:Staff were very helpful & location excellent.

Review 70:Fantastic location on the border of Plaza mayor ( the centre of this medieval city ) Perfect level of comfort and hospitality

Review 71:Excellent position on Plaza Mayor. Very pleasant staff. Good breakfast but not included in the room charge

Review 72:Fiesta and loud music in the square until late.

Review 73:Excellent location on Plaza Mayor. Air conditioning not very efficient.

Review 74:Reception Staff, Room

Review 75:Parking. Transporting baggage to/from the car.

Review 76:Parking

Review 77:Good location

Review 78:Leaving!

Review 79:Just good all round and in a brilliant location

Review 80:Nothing to dislike. No complaints.

Review 81:Everything. Location, staff, accommodation, value for money. This 3 star hotel is superior to many 4 stars.

Review 82:No parking at hotel, but can park in public carpark a short drive away.

Review 83:So close to the old town of Caceres

Review 84:Bed was on wheels and kept moving about!!

Review 85:Excellent location and very comfortable, smart hotel with wonderful views from balcony.

Review 86:great location, nice breakfast, helpfull staff

Review 87:Great location on the Plaza, excellent staff. Caceres is beautiful, and this hotel exceeded our expectations.

Review 88:Location and very helpful staff

Review 89:Two beds instead of twin or queen

Review 90:Location and staff

Review 91:Tricky parking

Review 92:brilliant location on the main square BUT noisy until late on a Friday night

Review 93:front desk staff were very friendly & helpful very convenient location on plaza mayor

Review 94:Wi Fi when you eat outside !

Review 95:Friendly front desk staff; very pleasant, unique and spacious room on top floor under the eaves. Good breakfast. Central location, but quiet.

Review 96:The plaza mayor can be a little noisy at night.

Review 97:It is right on the plaza mayor.which is great.

Review 98:location, staff

Review 99:Brilliant location. Nice decor. Lovely bathroom

Review 100:The location on the plaza in the old section of Caceres.

Review 101:Everything - especially the breakfast! We loaded up like there was no tomorrow on jamon iberico and croissants

Review 102:Breakfast

Review 103:One of the best/classiest hotel rooms we have stayed in.

Review 104:nothing in particular

Review 105:perfect for our needs

Review 106:Whilst there was a lift to floor we then had stairs to negotiate our luggage as part of the floor was on a higher level.

Review 107:Friendly helpful staff, good location, lovely big room

Review 108:Annoying handbasin which is so shallow & flat that rinsing mouth can result in splash back to face & chest. Poor lighting in bedroom. Distance from Renfe station indicated in your map was 1.1 km with a 14 min walk, but turned out to be 3-4 km taking 45 minutes.

Review 109:Good breakfast. Nice room. Friendly staff. Would recommend.

Review 110:Internet was down for part of our time there. Not a big a deal, but inconvenient.

Review 111:Location and view of the square and old town from our window was perfect. There was a major event event happening outside our window and it was still quiet enough to sleep peacefully.

Review 112:It's strange, but the regularity of WiFi is often much better in small hotels than in more expensive ones.

Review 113:The location overlooking the Plaza Mayor

Review 114:strict attitude over breakfast timings ie instead of items taken away immediately at end of breakfast time guests could be informed ten minutes ahead that items will be taken away shortly.

Review 115:hospitality from most of the staff accessibilty to events on Plaza Mayor flexibility on room bookings and number of nights staying

Review 116:Breakfast was served only until 11 and at 10:45 they started removing some things. It was a Sunday. I'd expect some more time for that.

Review 117:Location was great. It's a 4* for the price of a 3*. Everything perfect.

Review 118:You are not able to drive to the hotel since the centre of the city isclosed to traffic and their parking garage is not easy to find unlessyou get directions from the hotel.

Review 119:Great location on historic central square. The room was verycomfortable, large and modern with a great view over the square.

Review 120:Parking was poor and support/instructions/help in locating the car park was lacking. Suggest a valet parking option to prevent people from getting annoyed.

Review 121:Room/facilities

Review 122:Very friendly and helpful staff as regards hints on nearby parking facilities and other recommendations, good breakfast with excellent coffee and fresh orange juice. good location at beautiful Plaza Mayor, only a few footsteps away from historic area and still lively but not noisy.

Review 123:It's hard to find and parking is at a nearby garage. It's a bit noisy at night since it's right on the main plaza. The wifi didn't work the first day we were there which was quite annoying. They finally got it fixed.

Review 124:Very friendly staff, very comfortable and clean. Great breakfast with eggs and bacon made to order.
