Reviews for Hotel Torremilanos

Review 1:The only, important failure is the atmosphere in the bar /cafetaria. With a bit more friendliness and better tapas (or tapas indeed) open from 17:00 not 19:00 and Most of the guests would have attended and it would easily have made this a perfect stay. This left us with a bit of a cold unwelcome feeling, which later on was compensated by the staff. Also we found the rooms a bit to cool too clinical, they did not radiate the warmth one might expect

Review 2:nearly everything

Review 3:Although we knew the main restaurant was closed on a Sunday night we did expect there might be a bar open with tapas. However, everything totally closed, and we were the only overnight guests. I think the hotel should close in the winter if that is all they can offer as a **** hotel.

Review 4:comfortable modern rooms

Review 5:Restaurant was absolutely great, the Michelin recommendation is absolutely well deserved! The wines produced at this bodega are very high quality, absolutely great! The room was spacious and clean, in general the hotel offers a great experience. Definitely worth a stay.

Review 6:The breakfast was very poor. Dried bread. Minimal selection. Poor presentation. Lack of service. Overall service in the dining area is lacking. The suite was dark and felt cramped.

Review 7:Impressive looking estate and building. Very friendly and helpful front desk staff. Good location for exploring area.

Review 8:A pool would be nice

Review 9:Staff - helpful and welcoming. Food was great and the buffet breakfast generous. Room was clean and spacious with a v comfortable bed! Wine tour

Review 10:The receptionist wasn't the most welcoming! Unfortunately, as it was Sunday, the restaurant was closed, but did get a meal at the restaurant hotel down the road.

Review 11:The hotel was quite difficult to find, but once located, its location was beautiful. The room was spacious and very comfortable with amazing views over the vineyards.

Review 12:Great location in the middle of vinyard! We took hotel bikes (that are free) and cycled through the vinyards which was wanderful! The host personally showned us the winery and told us very interesting things about the philosophy of wine and its production process. Many thanks, Ricardo! We enjoyed also the meal and wine at the restaurant, as well as the service (the waitress at the restaurant was very kind and professional). I strongly recommend this hotel to everyone who appreciates wine, tranquility, wonderful views and accommodation of good quality!

Review 13:Unfortunately, the view from our bedroom looked out over warehouse roof to light industrial premises beyond. A pity, but the facilities of the hotel are somewhat overshadowed by the outlook.

Review 14:Beautifully appointed in elegant garden. Large well equipped and comfortable bedroom in extension. Very good dinner, efficiently served. Excellent breakfast.

Review 15:The Hotel advertises Airconditioning in every room but it was not working . They had not put it on as it was still in May. Temperature was 27c.

Review 16:Breakfast

Review 17:Dinner service was a bit slow through lack of staff - food just average and bread wasn't fresh

Review 18:Staff were great and wine tour fantastic. Breakfast was just right

Review 19:Having had a previous experience of noise from kitchen air extraction systems in Durango, Torremilanos seemed to promise tranquility. However, the first room we were given was on the western side of the hotel and overlooked a sea of corrugated iron roof shedding and, nearby to the right, a noisy kitchen extractor system. Even at around 9 pm this was noisy and we phoned the management. To their credit, they arranged for us to move to another room. This was not as modern as the first but was quieter. The twin beds seemed narrow, however, and some of the bed clothes did not smell fresh.

Review 20:We chose Aranda de Duero as a stopover point between the Basque Country and Madrid having previously stayed at Burgo del Osma. The Finca Torremilanos is well situated just off the E5/A1. The rural location of the hotel amidst the vineyards is idyllic

Review 21:no complaints

Review 22:The hotel is a lovely old property, well renovated and convenient for Santander and the ferry. I have used it a couple of times. Comfortable, friendly, quiet, good restaurant. Haven´t had time yet to visit the attached bodega which is a shame.

Review 23:Rude reception staff - gossiping on phone and ignoring customers but morning receptionist was excellent.

Review 24:Cleanliness Quality of food Excellent location

Review 25:I have no complaints except to say that it is not easy to wine taste in this region. Everything is done through hours plus reservation required long tours vs the quicker tastings we're used to in the states. We definitely could have planned better and still had an amazing time, but I'd love to see the region be a little easier to visit.

Review 26:We were upgraded to a suite for our honeymoon and the entire experience was amazing. We almost didn't stay here because some reviews talked about the rooms being a bit out of date, but that wasn't our experience at all. The bathroom with the shower built into the floor and wine spa samples was incredibly and the views of the vineyard were perfect.

Review 27:Close to motorway for our Travel to UK. Looked as though would be good base to tour wine region but we had spent time in Jerez so no interest this time.

Review 28:nothing

Review 29:Great location, restaurant for dinner and breakfast provided free in the morning were excellent, staff was very helpful and the hotel itself is very beautiful

Review 30:A minor problem was that the restaurant was not open on Sunday evenings.

Review 31:This is a fantastic hotel equal to any 5 star hotel that we have stayed in in Spain.

Review 32:Dinner is quite expensive unless you ask for the menu de la noche. For a winery the wine too is expensive, you would think that with millions of litres of wine available it ought to be cheaper.

Review 33:The hotel is a lovely building and the room we had was quite large, clean, tidy, nice bathroom.

Review 34:Be aware that the excellent restaurant is not open on Sunday evenings.

Review 35:We were upgraded to the best suite in the hotel. We bought our six-monthly quota of one of the best wines in Spain. It is convenient for the Autovia without being beside it. 3 hours en route from/to Santander. This is a hotel with style and attention to detail.

Review 36:Could not find the hotel. When we eventually arrived I had 'e' mailed several days earlier informing them that we would be there at 9pm and to ensure food was available . After 4hours travelling we were informed the restaurant was closed due to a wedding . No food ..... Deep joy . Then the wedding went on until 4.30am . No sleep with 40miles to travel the following day .

Review 37:The lady in reception was helpful

Review 38:Evening meal served from 9pm which was just a little too late for us.

Review 39:Everything about the hotel met our expectations. Quality of accommodation, breakfast and quiet location.

Review 40:No cafeteria when we stayed. Usual problem for Brits is restaurant not open until 9pm but we are in Spain and that's when they eat.

Review 41:Excellent suite.Comfort in a beautiful building.Secure parking. Working vineyard all around you. Excellent food.Good breakfast.

Review 42:Directions to find hotel not good. Restaurant closed on a Sunday - the day we arrived for a 2 day stay. Its better to know this in advance.

Review 43:Wonderful Spanish finca in well kept grounds. Interior of hotel fabulous - no expense spared. breakfast and dinner very good.

Review 44:The hotel was almost empty when we were there and one morning we complained about the airconditioning not working properly. The (female) receptionist was very rude and arguing on everything with us. After a verbal complaint she backed down though and the other receptionist we saw (male) was completely the opposite; He provided excellent service and recommendations and went out of his way to please us at all times. So we just consider it an incident.

Review 45:It is a very nice hotel, equally well maintained as its beautiful surroundings. A great place to relax and only a 5-7 minute drive to the center of Aranda del Duero. We did a wine tour on the estate and the owner/guide did it with more passion than I've ever seen before. Highly recommended. We did not try the restaurant, so we can't provide any reviews on that.

Review 46:Hotel felt understaffed at breakfast in morning there appeared no one to welcome us or to offer coffee and toast when the member of staff did appear we had nearly finished eating . She was very nice when she did eventually appear but we started to wonder if we had missed something. In the meantime the receptionist went into the kitchen and made herself a drink it was all a little bizarre .

Review 47:We liked the decor , large bed , bathroom facilitis

Review 48:The hotal was easy to find just off the motorway at Aranda. We were on our way to the La Mancha region of Spain, having crossed the Pyrenees using the A63 E5 from France, so this was a one night stop-over for us. Reception were very good and spoke English and humoured us by helping us with our first attempts at Spanish. The room was clean, perhaps a bit small as we had an extra bed in our double room for our 12 year old daughter. We were starving when we got there about 9pm and as far as I could tell opened the restaurant just for us. The food was good and the restaurant staff very helpful too.

Review 49:when we stayed there, there were very few guests and the breakfast was quite limited and old bread was served one morning

Review 50:beautiful nature, peaceful. rooms are beatiful and clean.

Review 51:Nothing

Review 52:Peaceful, calm and pretty. Good restaurant. Excellent tapas bar at the end of the road.

Review 53:Peaceful location, beautiful surroundings, and great breakfast

Review 54:Great place to stay on way to port at Bilbao located just off motorway.

Review 55:The hotel and rooms were excellent and the location was ideal to get back onto the motorway

Review 56:it is near of a industrial pool and a road

Review 57:the gardens are beautiful

Review 58:Restaurant closed sundays

Review 59:Quality in a great setting

Review 60:Did not like no access to wine tour

Review 61:Familiar as visit regularly

Review 62:NOT ENOUGHT WINE

Review 63:THE WINES, VERY VERY GOOD WINE TOUR

Review 64:very helpful staff.

Review 65:Typically Spanish staff were very friendly. Hotel spotless, food and wine very good.

Review 66:That we had to leave...

Review 67:Everything..!

Review 68:No facilities for food from arrival at 15h30 to 21h00.

Review 69:Bed and underfloor heating.

Review 70:Very nice roon with view

Review 71:Dinner in their restaurant. Either food or service.

Review 72:Reserve for the wine tour at the check in

Review 73:1-to have meal served at a quarter 2-to ten pm. When you travel and you have a long trip the next day it would be helpful if one could get a meal at 7.30 pm 3- if there's a wedding to get a room opposite the disco!!!!

Review 74:very comfortable bed very spacious room helpful staff

Review 75:Booking.Com (and readers of this review) please note. The map locationis wrong. Take exit 158 off the a1 on to the n122 direction Valladolid. After about 1.5km take a left turn to the Hotel which is signposted andopposite the El Ventorro Hostel & Restaurant. The El Ventorro is agood place to eat if you don't want to wait for the hotel Restaurantto open at 21.00 or go into town.

Review 76:Fabulous Palace like interior, beautifully fitted rooms, great breakfastbuffet, fantastic value for the money. A must stay if in the area.

Review 77:In the evening we took a taxi to Aranda de duero. The evening receptionist was grumpy with us as was the taxi driver (and he arrived 15 minutes late - no apology) we also had a grumpy waiter in aranda who scoffed at us for not ordering the lechazo. Felt like punching him! - however everyone else was nice.

Review 78:loved the hotel and the guide/cata of the bodega the following day, the guy that gave us the tour was very knowledgeable, I enjoyed it alot and look forward to drinking the wine we inevitably purchased afterwards.

Review 79:We had trouble finding it as our satnav took us the wrong waydown the road.

Review 80:The hotel is beautiful, clean, in a wonderful setting and offersexcellent comfort. We only stayed overnight, so the only food we had wasat breakfast, but again this was lovely. Very helpful staff.

Review 81:The one thing missing - directions to find the place. Once found it is simple but we wasted 30 minutes and some 30 kms up and down the main road trying to find it. Located eventually through iPhone app. Put some easy directions on site. Left off A5 at junction 158. 400 metres along Calle Zaragosa, hotel & bodega signed to LEFT. Continue for 1 km along track.

Review 82:Very special experience. Staff welcoming and helpful. Accommodation was very comfortable.Food delicious. Great stay, shame we didn't have time to enjoy the bodega. Would definitely go back and recommend to others.

Review 83:The Map needs to be corrected on booking.com

Review 84:Lovely place, would love to go back when we have time to stay longer. Great food and wine, super breakfast, a good quiet night, luxurious throughout!

Review 85:The map location is completely wrong . . . Needs to be corrected. . . The hotel is about ten minutes drive away in the countryside and not easy to find without correct details.

Review 86:An amazing place so spacious and beautiful, good food nice facilities and great for a quiet night's sleep. We were travelling through so only had one night, but we would have loved to stay longer.

Review 87:uncomfortable beds. staff would not switch aircon on. it took 2 days to get an iron and ironing board. very slow wifi. poor soundproofing between the superior rooms.

Review 88:spotlessly clean. nice breakfast with friendly service in the breakfast room.

Review 89:Everything was superb. I will highly recommend it.

Review 90:I am a world traveler. By and large,Torremilanos was one of my best stays ever. Our wine tour guide was absolutely cute, suite and extremely knowledgeable. Don't miss a dinner in El Meson de la Villa in Aranda de Duero

Review 94:There is no street name or postcode Sat Nav could not locate it. Not a very nice bar area.

Review 95:The setting was beautiful, lots of character

Review 96:Maria Victoria at the front desk was very, very nice and extremely helpful. The winery tour and tasting were excellent!
