Reviews for Breuer's Rüdesheimer Schloss
Review 1:We are made to feel part of the family at Breuer's Rüdesheimer Schloss. We have stayed here before and would like to come back again. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Excellent breakfast. The restaurant was one of the best we dined at in Germany. I highly Recommend this hotel.
Review 2:Only one minor was our room was a modern art room described as. Very sparce with no decor what-so-ever & stone floor tiled throughout. Ideal & just as you would expect in a hot climate but to me personally I felt it too cold & too bear & would have preferred a warmer cozier room being as it was in December & rather cold out. This is the only reason why I have not scored this hotel a perfect 10!
Review 3:Really enjoyed our stay here on a 3 night mini break without the kids. First impressions was the location was perfect set amongst the centre of everything we needed. We were greeted with a glass of champagne and wonderfully traditional dressed welcoming friendly staff. The hotel is beautiful, courteous staff, very accommodating to you & so friendly as though they have known you before. The wine tasting at the hotel is a must & i found the best wine ever. We even was offered a lift to the train station on our departure. Here they cannot do enough for you. We were indeed very impressed & very appreciative & exceptional value. Enjoyed every minute of our stay here, too much positives to mention. We will certainly return!
Review 4:The hotel is located in a charming neighborhood, quite fairy tale like. We left the child's blanket in the room, and the staff just sent it back to us. We really appreciate their kindness. Breakfast is also great.
Review 5:having to leave, can not wait to go back
Review 6:the staff, food, welcome, location, wine all superb. we are seasoned World travellers and had a 5 day break to Christmas market
Review 7:They have the biggest restaurant of the town, good food and nice wine! They do performance and games in the dinner time, lots of fun!! In the morning, rent bikes for free and had a ride in the vineyard, it is beautiful!
Review 8:I don't care for the body wash/shampoo combination that was provided. Also, there was no soap or shampoo made available in the bath area.
Review 9:The breakfasts were good and the wait staff in the restaurant were very accommodating. I received much needed help in locating a pharmacy on a Sunday. I really appreciated her help.
Review 10:a slightly different but perfectly comfortable hotel with all facilities and functioning at 4* level. Friendly staff, parking on premises. Very noisy but great fun dinner with music and dancing, perfect location for most touristic activities that this delightful little town has to offer.
Review 11:their restaurant was too full that they didn't accept any restaurant guests without prior reservation until 21:00 or so. they also said their room service was closed for that day. I wished they told us so when we checked in. (and other nearby restaurant was full too - we couldn't make a reservation. ) if you want to have dinner there, prior reservation maybe necessary, depending on the season.
Review 12:the room was quiet. I had no problem in sleeping. the bathroom had a bathtub. for breakfast, they asked how I want to have eggs cooked, which is nice. I ordered scrambled eggs with bacon. dinner there was nice with people playing instruments and dancing customers. we enjoyed the nice atmosphere there.
Review 13:What a wonderful hotel and restaurant! Center of the town, great food, drink and live entertainment! The owner and staff were devine. Breakfast was fabulous! We will be back and will stay longer. This was the five star experiance of our trip to Germany?
Review 14:superb location in Rudesheim friendly and efficient staff welcome drink free parking on site excellent room excellent food in restaurant, for both dinner and breakfast all with excellent service
Review 15:Room seemed old and ready for freshening. Fingerprints along all door jambs, stains on walls. Located directly over the patio bar--noisy! (It did quiet down around 10:30.
Review 16:Central old town. Reception staff were great. Great breakfast. Free parking.
Review 17:Only thing we wished we had stopped longer on are trip down the Rhine valley.
Review 18:We arrived two hours early, but this was no problem, the receptionist offered us a table & a lovely glass of sparkling wine, this came from there own vines, winery. The room was fantastic, plenty of room with a lovely big bathroom. The location is fantastic right in the centre no need to use your car, you can enjoy a nice walk & see all of the town. We ate both evenings in the hotel restaurant, the food & service were first class. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice, along with a nice glass of sparkling wine! On several occasions we spoke with the owners Mr & Mrs Breuer as they are out & about in the hotel, very friendly couple made you feel very welcome, as did all the staff.
Review 19:Kitchen noise till late, in rooms facing the Rhine. Major cruise-boat clamor in courtyard during some breakfasts and dinners -- with large groups of American retirees, accordion and band music, various ceremonies, Glockenspiel clangs, and "Rudesheimer kaffee" events.
Review 20:Convenient location in a tourist mecca. Room upgraded to a larger suite with 3 windows and a balcony, thank you. Allowed a view uphill too, with cable cars and the vast Germany patriotic site in line of sight Dining rooms and courtyard delightful. Pleasant wait staff complete with dirndl gear. Parking convenient though tight.
Review 21:The bathroom of our room (19) smelled bad throughout our stay, even though it seemed/looked clean. When brought to the attention of the maid she said that's just how it is..
Review 22:Excellent location in the heart of historic town centre. Friendly reception and wait staff.
Review 23:I could not hook up to the free wifi. I did not try to resolve the issue either.
Review 24:Clean spacious room with a balcony overlooking the courtyard. The glockenspiels and the live music in the courtyard was wonderful.
Review 25:No complaints at all.
Review 26:Wonderful location and setting - right in the centre of the altatadt. Lovely courtyard for breakfast and restaurant. Really enjoyed the live entertainment during our evening at the restaurant.
Review 27:We chose to have our room overlooking the beer garden but the same music got a bit much after 3 nights.
Review 28:The reception was amazing! We were made to feel very welcome. Reception staff were extremely helpful with organising activities during our stay
Review 29:Our room was disappointing with cheap furniture and no air con (a fan was provided but it was 34 degrees outside and not very effective- we expected more from a 4*), the shower flipped from very cold to scalding (we complained that we felt this was dangerous and were compensated with a bottle of wine but our bigger concern was that the shower needs to be fixed for other guests! ), we didn't find the reception staff particularly welcoming (we are travelling independently and not with an organised tour).
Review 30:Location is central but quiet as the hotel is located down a quiet side street, fabulous bar and restaurant area, the hotel provides parking although it is a little tricky to find
Review 31:This hotel is situation along the famous narrow alleyway and hosts an evening live music gathering (German/American/sing along) for all the guests, locals and tourists who stroll the lane every night until midnight. It's wholesome fun (not rowdy) and wasn't a problem for us as we just opened our balcony door and enjoyed it. But it would be quite intrusive if you wanted quiet or an early bedtime, be sure to ask for a quiet room away from the restaurant courtyard. The bed was okay and the wi-fi requires a log-in each time you want to use it, so those didn't get the perfect scores of the other features. Still, this is the place to be!
Review 32:First of all, this was the warmest reception we received (champagne, big smiles, and lots of instructions) in a 3 month tour through 12 European countries. Suzanne, the owner/manager, has an efficient style but filled with heart. There is a bouquet of charming details in every hotel space, even the public bathrooms. I don't know about all the rooms, but there are some modern ones and at least one VERY modern one which my husband and I enjoyed, which was huge and almost like a NYC loft. It's hard to imagine a Rudesheim am Rhine hotel with a better location, hospitality or food than this charmer. Don't miss the cable car, high vineyard walk (1.5 hours of mostly flat and a little downhill) with fabulous views over the vineyards and the river, and the boat ride return. We were told that both sets of tickets are provided complimentary to all guests. A real highlight of the area!
Review 33:Wifi only consistently worked in foyer.
Review 34:Lovely welcome. A glass of wine, and the the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Good advice for our Rhine cruise, and helped me print out documents. Large, clean, nicely furnished room with large ensuite. Very attractive surrounds and great location. Courtyard dining was pretty and the breakfast excellent. Lively atmosphere in evening with music and singing much enjoyed by all present.
Review 35:No air conditioning may have been a problem if the weather had been hot.
Review 36:Wonderful meal and musical experience in the restaurant. Very friendly staff took care to ensure that we know how to get back into the hotel once the staff had all headed off to the last night of the town's wine fair! Great location, secure storage for our bicycles, good breakfast.
Review 37:This hotel itself is a resturant with musicians,so until very late night, the noise still very loud. No air conditioner.
Review 38:Extra bed for young kid is free! Served some cups of Riesling for welcome when we check in. Free and nice breakfast! Early check in (abt 9am) if the bed is ready.
Review 39:On the morning we left, the receptionist was extremely rude. Arguing with us and losing her temper over something that was not out fault. (Case of wine we ordered had not arrived). She even shouted at me as I walked out the door. Not a pleasant experience.
Review 40:Lovely building, great location. Good food and wine.
Review 41:The only thing was that the hotel was a little hard to find.
Review 42:The hotel was just great. Very friendly staff, good food, spacious room, very clean, fantastic breakfast, owner printed out Michelin route for Italy, gave us extra water for on the road.
Review 43:The bedroom was hot at night. A fan was provided but this did not do much to cool the room temparture
Review 44:The atmosphere in the dining room. It was my birthday and the staff prsented me with a cake and band played a tune for me. The friendliness and helpful attitude of the staff.
Review 45:The general amount of smoking. It would seem this is hard to avoid in Europe in general.
Review 46:It has service, location, overwhelming staff who go out of their way to assist.
Review 47:Starting with the welcome drink on arrival and relaxed check-in, our stay was made a pleasure by staff who obviously enjoyed their jobs. We felt very welcome here.
Review 48:...parking access is difficult, but doable.
Review 49:The rooms are modern. The building, restaurant, and outdoor courtyard definitely remind you of historic Germany.... Delicious food and wonderful live music!
Review 50:EVERYTHING was wonderful, from the time we walked in and spoke to the front desk until the time we left. Breakfast was phenomenal, location and room was modern, clean, comfortable, large and yet the feel of the location was warm, friendly and inviting.
Review 51:Small portable aircon unit wasn't really sufficient....but minor point.
Review 52:Location, friendly welcome and staf, great evening dinner and entertainment.
Review 53:Arriving on a late flight - best to get there early & just enjoy !
Review 54:Everything - Perfect Location & Hospitality & Atmosphere. Superb dining experience with fun live band. Absolutely delightful Hotel Owner/Operator + staff very accommodating & helpful. Room #10 on 2nd floor was everything we could ever ask for - large bedroom & bath with balcony & windows facing courtyard to dance to live music or simply soak up the atmosphere. Superb breakfasts with made-to-order main egg dish +++. Free easy parking made it snap to get in and out from Rhein-valley day trips, etc.
Review 55:Although we are not handicapped we were given a handicapped room whichmade it somewhat more difficult for our stay (especially the shower). When taking a shower you got water everywhere and the shower floor wasdangerously slippery!
Review 56:Location. Very charming atmosphere. Excellent food. Wonderful staff
Review 57:The room is really big, very good price-quality ratio, free parking lots. The restaurant is a garden one. So happy at the dinner time, people were drinking, singing and dancing to have a relax night. Tasty sparkling wine. Like it so much, want to come back again!
Review 58:We were made to feel very welcome. The staff are effecient and frendly. Our room was lovely, modern, large and clean. Bathroom also large and clean. We had dinner at the resturant, the food was wonderful.
Review 59:We were on the 2nd floor with a lift. Our room was really great, modern and quiet as it did not face the courtyard. Staff were very friendly and the owners were clearly on top of things - very hands on. We were sensibly given a corner table to watch the night's entertainment at dinner - and what fun it was, with the band and a lot of singing along. Not the place for a quiet romantic dinner. The meal was wonderful quality, as was breakfast the next morning. A great place to stay in Rudesheim.
Review 60:small issue with my room, we stay two night washroom shower doesn't work Temperature crazy, we change room before.
Review 61:Good location, overall the sevice and cleaness of the room is quite good,
Review 62:The helpful staff, the well-maintained and preserved facilities, generous breakfasts, the carillon, location, parking, etc. What's not to like! I only wished we had eaten dinner at the restaurant.
Review 63:This place is convenient to everything in Rudesheim, but the alley on which it is addressed is very hard to locate.
Review 64:The room was very spacious and we stayed an extra night as a result. The food was very good and the staff quite good. The dining room is full every night, probably because of the band that plays every night. Can be quite exuberant.
Review 65:Nothing bad at all.
Review 66:Everything, location excellent, staff amazing and friendly. Owner so welcoming and exceedingly helpful with such high standards. Welcome champagne and at breakfast. Restaurant amazing food. Nothing too much trouble this hotel made our trip to Rudesheim such an enjoyable experience. Well done and thank you to Suzanne and her team.
Review 67:Could not get the Internet to work in the room although except sitting on the bed. It worked down the hall and in the lobby/restaurant. A repeater should be added to cover the room (23) that I rented.
Review 68:The rooms are large, full height windows that open, bathroom was large, breakfast is good, location is excellent.
Review 69:Although the restaurant was very good, the hotel lacked a bar/ lounge area - they're missing a trick not using their speciality in wine to have a piano/wine bar!
Review 70:Room was excellent - contemporary decor, spacious and clean. Staff helpful and restaurant very good, although more expensive than others in the town. Location couldn't be much better.
Review 71:Room service would be nice to add, but it is also nice to come downstairs and talk with the guest and staff
Review 72:He staff was polite and helpful, the food was delicious, the room was beautiful.. I give this hotel a very high rating :) I'm sorry we had to leave early but next time we are in town, we will go back
Review 73:Our only regret is we may not be able to return in the spring. Rudesheim is a lovely town but slow in February.
Review 74:I was not aware when I booked a suite for my wife and I for Valentine's Day that this hotel is affiliated (owned?) by one of the great wineries of the modern Rheingau. Hr Breuer has long promoted smaller harvests for better wines - not the case for the German wine industry in general - and we certainly sampled the house selection. The center of Rudesheim is a challenge for drivers but the hotel has a parking lot for guests - a big plus. The hotel was fully booked! We liked the many paths for hiking along the river and upslope into the vinyards and on to the Niederwald Monument. There are two 10th-12th century fortifications in town, one of which holds a wine museum (closed while we were there).
Review 75:Great location in center of town. Nice size, clean, and comfortable rooms. Good food and drink with great entertainment. Friendly staff. Loved the atmosphere. Would definitely stay there again!
Review 76:The staff were extremely hospitable and accommodating making all the guest feeling special and comfortable. The dinning experience was superb. In terms of facilities and rooms I was pleasantly surprised and satisfied. We really enjoyed our stay @ Rudesheimer Schloss
Review 77:Great location in town that was close to the cafes, restaurants and shopping. Even though it was November 16th and the slow season before the Christmas market, there were still plenty of restaurants and shops open. Glass of wine when we first arrived was excellent! Staff was friendly and most could speak English quite well. Restaurant was lively with good food.
Review 78:no fresh orange juice at breakfast road coming from north of the river is close so need to deviate up the hill to reach the hotel no view of the river
Review 79:very big size of the room wi-fi free in the room kindness of the owners annex restaurant good value for price clean
Review 80:A little tricky to find at first.
Review 81:This was where we spent the first 2 days of our Germany trip and it was a great way to start! Room was spacious, loved the restaurant downstairs, staff were all very nice. Location is great, one block from Drosselgasse, close to most everything. Parking was easy. Would very much recommend.
Review 82:The staff were absolutely fantastic. Our friends had just got married and the team arranged for a fantastic welcome with candles, roses and an upgraded room. The team took excellent care of us all and we felt very welcomed here.
Review 83:Well...... I did not realise I would be directly above theentertainment of the visiting cruise ship's dinner party. Howeverfor some reason this did not stop me falling asleep! Maybe having themusic was a good thing!
Review 84:Arrived an hour early to be immediately given our room along with awelcome glass of champagne. The Breuer family's high regard fortheir staff in having an 'honour board'. The frank, friendlydemeanour of the owners who are happy to meet and greet. Dinner wasnicely cooked and presented and sensibly priced.
Review 85:Blank
Review 86:The staff, hotel and food was excellent. Could not fault the establishment in any way. Great location for jumping on and off teh Rhine ferries. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.
Review 87:It seems that because it is probably the most famous hotel in town it can get very busy with large tourist parties who embark from Rhine river cruises.
Review 88:The hotel is very characterful, in an old building, with it's own bell tower, situated on the Drosselgasse, the best street in the centre of town, with lots of other bars, restaurants and hotels. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable. It has an excellent restaurant with wine from its own vineyard.
Review 89:A little far from train station, air conditioning was a little weak, maid cleaned even though the "do not disturb" sign was on door, breakfast just okay.
Review 90:Live music, central location, elevator, air conditioning, bathtub and shower, near boat dock.
Review 91:An important characteristic of this hotel and the entire town for that matter is the musical entertainment of large groups of guests coming from the river cruise boats. If that's not what you're looking for you are better off finding a different hotel in a different town.
Review 92:Nice and clean hotel. Good service and nice breakfast.
Review 93:No wifi in room 23 had to go to the reception area. Lack of comfy sitting chairs in the room
Review 94:Great staff, Dining atmosphere, good wines, location and value for money
Review 95:Bedroom facing towards railway was rather noisy at night. But closing the windows to reduce the noise made the room hot.
Review 96:Excellent location Charming and energetic staff Good restaurant both for breakfast and in the evening Good wine list with excellent selection of wines from the Rheingau.
Review 97:The hotel and restaurant staff and their service were excellent. They went above what was expected. Breakfast was much better than any hotel breakfast we've had. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious. The night life was festive and fun, but not raucous. It was great to watch Germany trounce Brazil in the restaurant on the big screen.
Review 98:Nothing
Review 99:Everything - fabulous owner. Friendly staff. Beautiful room.

Review 109:free use of bicycles
Review 110:Good location and service
Review 111:Friendliness and atmosphere
Review 112:Friendly staff, spacious rooms and good breakfast.
Review 113:Quite room, great breakfast, close to nearby vineyard lift with view of the Rhein. Great little hotel.
Review 114:The hotel owner and staff made you feel very welcome. The breakfast and evening meals were excellent.
Review 115:Pillows are too soft. (and that's being really picky!)
Review 116:Been visiting this area for 30 years and this is our favourite hotel.
Review 117:Unstable hot water supply when shower
Review 118:Spacious room with nice view. Execellent breakfast.
Review 119:It is very beautiful hotel and has good location. There are good music performance in restaurant.
Review 120:Hotel restaurant offers great food and friendly atmosphere. The hotel owner Herr Breuer also dropped us off at the train station- Vielen danke!
Review 121:The bed was a Little hard and wifi was difficult to get working.
Review 122:Very nice staff - good breakfast and a very cosy restaurant with an excellent site.
Review 123:minor noise from street
Review 124:Location Location Location
