Reviews for Apartamentos Poblado Marinero

Review 1:It was soooo noisy and sounded like I was staying in asylum- a woman shouting and swearing at passers by to shut up and a neighbour who was shouting swearing and playing drums on the hotel walls. Because it was right above bars and restaurants noise went on until the early hours with people staggering in shouting at 2:40 am. Bizarrely also the rubbish collection lorry would collect the rubbish bins at midnight!

Review 2:The apartments are big but extremely run down: floor tiles moving under foot, kitchen draws and cupboard doors hanging off and smell fusty. The wooden veranda have been eaten away in places by insects. Such a shame as they could be wonderful if money invested in its refurbishment. Right on front of marina some with sea views if you get one (mine was at back facing a rock). Don't really understand why the fascination of staying near the marina as not very pretty although dolphin/whale watching trips depart from there. It is better up the hill towards Puerto del Santiago. The natural lava pool is amazing- swimming while the Atlantic waves smash over the wall!

Review 3:- the cockroaches - no internet in the room - everything in the apartment is in a bad state - and they don't seem to care

Review 4:location close to the cliffs and port

Review 5:Apartment very old and shabby. Loose tiles on floor looked like complex was subsiding. Oven full of grease. No internet outside of office hours only available whilst reception open until 11pm....unless you paid 6e per day. Complex huge, long walk from reception........didn't like to do it on my own very dark and scary at night. Pillows were stained, old and uncomfortable. Sheets clean but blankets hadn't been changed in a while smelt of smelly feet. Thick plastic on beds... yuk. Soon took that off (obviously to hide the stains) I will return to most accommodation on booking.com but defo not this one.

Review 6:Location good right by beach and harbour. Huge apartment Fab pool (but a long walk to get to it).

Review 7:The most terrible accommodation which I ever had. In general everything was not so bad. But we got the room on the first floor (albeit on the online request asked highest) right above the garage, antediluvian garage-situated`s conditioner non-stop belching horrible sounds (just the noise from the street bars was able to black out it). And conditioner`s vibration, which took over of our room`s floor, give us feelings of presence in factory. We asked to change the room immediately we check-in it and feel this "colorful" factory`s aura. But the duty person on the reception told that he have no competence do this, tomorrow will be manager. But tomorrow the ocean was distract us from complaining. Next night full of garage noises restarted of indignation. Early morning manager told, that probably he can help us after 3 pm. So we had just 6 days on this lovely island and for sure it is not so good idea to spend even one day of waiting for (probably) new apartment. We decided set one's teeth, and tried to come home as late as it possible, opened window for street noise, which save us from factory horror. My opinion, manager was able to help us, there was free rooms in this hotel. I did see some, even small initiative from his side. The problem is, they have so much tourists in this budget hotel with very good location. So the administration just don`t care. But maybe we were just unlucky. Other guests may be luckier.

Review 8:Style of hotel`s buildings, location

Review 9:The place is very much run down. Exemplary is the fact that there are stains in the bathroom that can no longer be removed and make the tub look like someone fracked their skull on it. The place simply needs some new furniture and a lick of paint. On top of that it needs more kitchen and other utensils. Even with prices being relatively low I think it represents little value for money.

Review 10:The location is excellent close to restaurants, the centre of town, its port and the beach.

Review 11:Facility in overall really needs to be renovated - everything looks very used. We had ants in the kitchen.

Review 12:Good location, free nice pool access with no additional charge sunbeds, spacious rooms, friendly staff at reception.

Review 13:It is quite spacious, but rather empty and basic in equipment and in need of some updating, especially the bathroom and kitchenette. It is mentioned in room description, but we missed it so were surprised to see that bedroom has 2 separate single beds instead of one double. The coach in living room would not be very comfortable for an adult or if staying for more than couple nights.

Review 14:The apartments are located right in front of the Marina of Los Gigantes, very handy if you plan for whale& dolphin watching or plan to take any other trips on a boat. Also there is a little black sand beach right around the corner of this complex. There are decent size balconies to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful views and listen to the ocean. Plenty of places to eat out in nearby area, nearest bus stop in 5 to 10 minutes walking distance, depending on how quick you are with going uphill.

Review 15:It has to be one of the shabbiest apartment we have ever stayed in, we were refused our booked late checkout until 4pm, a generator was going 24 hours beside our bedroom paper thin sheets on beds, doors hanging off presses in kitchen we won't be back.

Review 16:The weather was really good but we were very disappointed in the apartment it had a great view pity about the inside.

Review 17:The location of the property is excellent and we loved the restaurants and bars nearby. The accommodation is very rustic and we had a fantastic sea view, lots to do just outside the door and the boat trip when we spotted the dolphins was incredible!!

Review 18:Unfortunately the internal design, fixtures and fittings are dated whilst the decoration is very tired. The bathroom and toilet were particularly poor.

Review 19:The location was good being close to the harbour side bars and restaurants.

Review 20:We booked a room with sea view but our building was in the second line so the sea was behind another two-story building of the site. I can't say that there was not a sea view at all but it was not exactly what we expected from the room's description.

Review 21:Low Gigantes is all British bars and restaurants and the beach is a bit of a non event. Having came from La Laguna and Garachico, both beautiful places with some great places to eat it was a bit of a come down.

Review 22:Great value, big apartment with large terrace and access to nice pool right beside the complex.

Review 23:Very close to the beach, big size of apartment, full size kitchen with required set of tools and plates. You could get nice view from terrace if you are lucky with room facing ocean.

Review 24:I would love to swim in the pool with the rocks, but you cannot swim over there because of the risk of falling rocks. Would love to take a picture of swimming over there but it was not possible. But for the normal swimming pool you can swim and you have a nice view from there.

Review 25:Nice area to watch a must is to see dolphins/whales. And a swim in the ocean :) Apartment nearby the beach and habor.

Review 26:No wi-fi available in the rooms, and free wi-fi in the reception was poor, very slow connection and often disconnects.

Review 27:The location is superb, just next to los gigantes cliffs.

Review 28:Parking was a bit hard to find and had to park 5 minute walk away but no big deal.

Review 29:Good clean basic apartment in a good location with english tv channels like bbc itv channel 4 etc. The location is also excellent and on the marina with lovely views of Los Gigantes cliffs.

Review 30:As it was already written, the complex is really dated, I expected it, but still it was a little depressing. The location and quietness compensated for it. Small ants appeared sometimes, so I had to keep all food in the fridge.

Review 31:Gorgeous sea view, spacious apt and terrace, kitchen had everything I needed ; quiet, steps from the nice beach, clean, good price. Lift and convinient paths for luggage. Good reception staff, spoke English

Review 32:Very unclean, nowhere to park, staff not unfriendly but careless, overall if u have some other options, choose them. It's not worthy for money.

Review 33:Location was excellent.

Review 34:The second toilet of its own accord started flushing continuously in the middle of the night! No coffee making facilities nor washing up liquid was a bit irritating.

Review 35:Proximity to the marina and beach-large balcony overlooking the sea and the swimming pool.

Review 36:Very run down and neglected as reviews had said with pans an frying pan that was impossible to use without food really sticking to them, little ant type insects in cupboards etc

Review 37:Apartment size was great, nice balcony, comfy beds, great location, good wifi, good prices, booked for 1 week then 2nd week then 3rd an 4th week as good prices, good few English tv channels, helpful staff, lovely pool area.

Review 38:All facilites and equipment are worn out, apartment needs refurbishing. Ants were everywhere, we kept even sugar in the refridgerator. During 7 days of stay only 2 small cleanings. Lack of dishwashing liquid and sponge.

Review 39:Good location with stunning view at Los Gigantes, huge balcony where we ate breakfasts looking at them. A lot of space inside apartment. Quite nice swimming pool.

Review 40:It was difficult to find the entrance/reception at first - we wandered about in the heat, with lots of bags, just after a 2-hour bus-ride and a half-mile walk from the bus-stop! If you bring a car, the parking looked as though it might be a problem. WiFi was only available in the reception.

Review 41:Fabulous location - right by the harbour in the busy part of town, yet very quiet and peaceful inside the complex. Lots of restaurants & shops nearby. The rooms were spacious and comfy, with plenty of equipment. We only stayed one night, but could have managed a week or two!

Review 42:Little or no sun on balcony, cleanliness v poor(condom found on bedroom floor on day of arrival and crumbs all over kitchen counter which most people would have complained about, we had to mop through! Bedding was never changed once, bath towels were changed twice but not hand towels.Room security poor, in the high winds patio doors and bedroom and kitchen windows blew open!Very run down apartments which is a shame as they could be amazing

Review 43:Location good. Good views, close to nice marina. Would return as reasonably priced

Review 44:Some noise from a restaurant on the street on the first night, but otherwise very quiet. No wifi in the bedrooms, only in reception (but at least its free!).

Review 45:Perfect location, right on the harbour so ideal for boat trips, with a stunning view of the famous cliffs. Los Gigantes is quite hilly but a lovely quiet town, numerous restaurants and supermarkets nearby. Taxi to Masca (for the hike with gorgeous scenery) is 45 minutes. Simple apartment but perfect for us, had everything we needed for cooking and a comfortable stay. Would stay here again.

Review 46:Poblado Marinero Apartamentos is pretty old but at the same time quite cheap, so it's not a big disadvantage. Absence of free WIFI is a bit disappointing, but at least you can rest more without big data :)

Review 47:Great location with picturesque view to Los Gigantes cliffs near the nice beach

Review 48:Despite cleanness, there we some little ants, that got into our food and we were not able to get rid of them. It was no problem, since we stayed for only 3 days, for a longer period we would have to deal with it somehow. Windows were banging pretty loud in stronger wind. Noisy corridors during the night.

Review 49:Spacious apartment. Pretty well equipped. Rooms were clean and if you want service to clean up the apartment and change towels, you just put a tag on your door.

Review 50:First impressions of the apartment were not great - smelt quite stuffy on arrival, but ok once we opened up the windows. We stayed in October, so lack of air-con was not an issue, but I expect you would need it in mid-summer.

Review 51:Great location, right next to the lovely black sand beach. Apartment was spacious and although we didn't have a sea view, we had a large balcony to sit out on. Enjoyed the sound of the waves at night.

Review 52:Little uncomfy for a couple to sleep in two single beds, the toilet flush did not work properly but nobody fixed it for 4 days, the kitchen was not well-equipped.

Review 53:Perfect location, beautiful apartments next to spectaculous cliffs, large terrace, pool.

Review 54:No aircon.. They are probably older apartments, you can see it on the wooden windows, balcony, maybe changing the windows,so you can still leave them open when away and nobody can get it. Refurbishing would be good more light, bright colors, looked all very brown dark green.

Review 55:I liked the area near the cliffs, beach Guios or the pools, shops, restaurants, to the bus stop less than 10 min.If sea view you can see the sunset, it was quiet in the evening.Clean towls and bathroom, the shower had a super power.TV programmes British and spanish. nice receptionists.

Review 56:Later swimming pool opening times would have made our stay even better.

Review 57:Location perfect for access to all local area and activities. Staff very friendly, helpful and hard working in all areas. Quality of food and service at swimming pool excellent. Life Guard great providing piece of mind for safety of children. Thank you for making our holiday a wonderful experience. Would definitely come back again.

Review 58:The apartments are very dated and basic, bed was very uncomfortable. No wifi other than in the main reception

Review 59:Its a great location and a nice part of the island

Review 60:Apartment was dated and a little worn down looking the wardrobes were not as clean as should be and in very poor state.

Review 61:Great location and close to restaurants and shops. Free access to a lido with good sized children's pool area and cafe/restaurant with reasonable prices. The apartment was spacious.

Review 62:The location is excellent, beside the seaside, easy access to all turist commodities and beautiful panorama. The staff is friendly and helpful. 24 hours attention.

Review 63:Nothing serious.

Review 64:Really nice guys at the reception, always helpful. They provided us a discount for the Flipper Uno boat ride (applicable to all clients), they also called the company to make the reservation, etc. All guests of this hotel have free admittance to a nearby swimming pool (we didn't use it once, as the "rocky" pool is closed due to falling rocks - that is the only thing we wanted regarding the pool and we like to travel, not stay in a pool). Once, we were surfing the internet (free at the reception desk) and the receptionist brought us each a pillow to put behind our backs, really nice - it is the small things that matter. Rooms were really clean, though the furniture was a bit older, but we really didn't mind. The apartment (468) was really huge for the 2 of us, with a large balcony - the view was not good, but we didn't mind as we travelled during the day. I can only recommend this hotel and would deffinitely return in the future, the views on los acantilados de los gigantes is really beautiful there!

Review 65:bathroom really wants to be updated. and small ants in apartment. but i didn't pay much attention on that.

Review 66:quite place, with beach right next to apartments.

Review 67:The bathroom is old and needs refurbishmeNt. It just probably cannot get cleaned. There were also small bugs all over the bathroom and kitchen (even in the kettle). Dispute the low price I expect a clean room and no bugs in the hotel, which unfortunately was not the case here.

Review 68:Location is absolutely amazing. Apartment is very big with a big balcony as well. Low cost.

Review 69:Beds! 3 foot wide hard matress on solid 2 foot 6 inch bed base! Infestation by very small ants -- sprayed by cleaner but a persistent problem which needs to be addressed more effectively.

Review 70:Friendly , welcoming and very helpful staff. Spacious apartment in main building with lift access, lovely balcony with sun and shade and sea view. Super pool facilities. Close to harbour and all amenities. Glad to see renovations in progress on exterior fabric and some interior renewals.

Review 71:the furniture is not new, beds could be more comfortable

Review 72:perfect location, very big room, goot kitchen equipment, lots of crockery, the balcony is also huge

Review 73:The facilities are a bit old and complete refurbishment is needed. We had much better accomodation in Tenerife for this price although not in this location - this hotel was the only available in this price range. It is purely touristic area and you should not expect any authentic experience or local cuisine (Puerto de Santiago is next to Los Gigantes and has at least some local restaurants).

Review 74:The location is perfect. Next to the beach and the port in Los Gigantes.

Review 75:The people who were responsible were not very friendly and often not available when wanted. The parking was often difficult. The apartment was very basic.

Review 76:Our apartment was situated just over the harbour. During the day it was busy, but the evenings were quiet. The swimming pool was excellent.

Review 77:It is a perfect place for lovers of nature view to the ocean and the lagoon. Polite and helpful staff. Convenient for wlaks in the town and to the beach.

Review 78:Wifi connection was really bad. The bathroom wasn't really clean and the sofa was dirty in the living room. We didn't get any shower gel or shampoo. On one of the day some staff changed some pipe in the apartman and we hadn't any waters almost all day, which was really surprised us, because we didn't get any information about this before a day.

Review 79:The view was really beautiful. The apartman is in the centre, so everything was close to us.

Review 80:A very long list. A very tired, scruffy and outdated complex and apartment in serious need of a complete overhaul. Rude, unhelpful and dismissive staff. The most uncomfortable bed I have ever (not) slept in.

Review 81:Location. The Receptionist when we arrived on the Monday. Towels and bedding were clean.

Review 82:Apartments a bit dated, but the price reflects that, if you want 4 star you will have to look elsewhere, but remember gigantes is on a hill, these apartments are at the bottom and right on the port, excellent location

Review 83:Location superb, free lido superb, price superb, everything in the apartment you need for a self catering holiday, sea view a must, for food go to the tipsy terrace up the hill, superb, stay away from the paraiso del sol restaurant, dreadfully food on every level, they buy cheap cuts of meat from the mountains, the pr told me,

Review 84:Everything in the apartment needs updating especially the beds (too small and mattresses worn out). Kitchen just functional.

Review 85:Location and views, vibrant during day yet quiet at night. Very spacious apartment.

Review 86:The location on the harbour means there are no views, which you would get with a hotel higher up. Nasty plastic sheets on the beds!

Review 87:Very pretty apartment complex right down on harbour although sadly the apartments are looking a bit the worse for wear - all the wood that makes the design attractive needs a lot of restoration.A real one-bedroomed apartment with a large balcony. Nice seawater pool area although I imagine it would be packed in high season.

Review 88:lack of cleanliness, sofa filthy and uncomfortable floors cupboard wash hand basin and grouting around kitchen sink broken and dirty crockery and cutlery odd and insufficient no egg cups or wine glasses no single sheets used on dbl bed would not pass health inspection!!!!!!!

Review 89:Location and the quietness

Review 90:My only gripe ,is in the kitchen there was no extractor unit over the cooker , so you have to open a small window , which blows any steam or smoke over the smoke alarm . I used the oven 4 times ,and 4 times there was a knock on the door so they could reset the alarm .

Review 91:Location , locals , plenty of places to eat and drink makes for an excellent break.

Review 92:May be it was only me but the spring mattresses was not comfortable to sleep on after a long day of adventures ! Overall great service :)

Review 93:Location is awesome and quite handy if you like doing adventures as it is bang opposite the pool followed by the sea :) Friendly staff made it easier to find information too !

Review 94:The apartments are very basic. The kitchen is really only equipped for basic snacks not for cooking meals. The bed was not what I would call comfortable. And not having internet in the apartment was a shame.

Review 95:The apartments are in a prime location. You literally couldn't be closer to the beach. You're within a short walking distance to everything in Los Gigantes. The apartments themselves are quite attractive from the outside and have a good floorplan. The area is really quiet at night and the views are fabulous.

Review 96:Free wifi only available in the lobby.

Review 97:The hotel is a bit old but still fairly comfrotable. We had a room with sea view and we loved having breakfast on the balcony overlooking the yacht port and the cliffs. It's a good location to move around too, not too far from the airport, Teide, Masca and many other beautiful places.

Review 98:Whole place needs renovating. Old and very basic furniture and equipment. No dining table or chairs, except plastic balcony furniture; no wine glasses, mugs, tea-towel or bathmat; hardly any coat-hangers.

Review 99:Bright, spacious, airy apartment. Good location for hiking, sightseeing, exploring island. Shops and restaurants also handy. Free parking could be found nearby after 5.00pm.

Review 100:No sun on the terrace we were in room 111.

Review 101:Location on the harbour and by the beach. Fine big apartment with a full cooker. Comfortable beds and plenty of storage space. Pool was lovely especially on the days when big breakers were crashing against the wall.

Review 102:Bed uncomfortable

Review 103:Use of pool at Lagoon, also cheap delicious lunches there are the best good of our entire holiday at El lagoon the pool complex opposite. Fantastic location the best in Los Gigantes

Review 104:Furniture and decor a bit dated but otherwise ok for the price. Thebalcony could do with a coat of varnish.

Review 105:Good location with balcony overlooking harbour and cliffs (worth a fewextra euros for the 'sea view')

Review 106:Bed was uncomfortable. Basic facilities but has everything you really need. The natural pool was out of use due to falling rocks. Wifi only in the communal area.

Review 107:All the staff were really helpful. Great location, right in front of the harbour. Free use of the amazing lido and sunbathing area. Good value for money.

Review 108:The whole complex was very run down. Every day there seemed to be someone walking round with a drill doing minor repairs. We were both ill while we were there. I vomited on and off for four hours, had a temperature, my partner had diarrhoea. I felt very ill for three days in all. We both drank the tap water in the apartment and it may have been that. There was a strong smell of sewage in several places in this resort. We went out on a great whale watching boat trip but were given pre packed nut mix with a drink on the boat. The timing of the our illness suggests that it may have been the nuts. On our last night we were woken by the sound of someone else vomiting in another apartment. Another problem was that for six days there was a generator running in the harbour a few metres from our apartment that made it impossible to sit out on the balcony. My advise: go to another resort.

Review 109:Location overlooked the harbour and the cliffs. There was easy access to the boat trips, bars and restaurants. You can park for free nearby in town.

Review 110:Apartments should be renovated a bit. No good electric teapots in my apt.

Review 111:Polite staff, which offers any kind of help and information. Location close to the seashore, picturesque view from windows and a common area balcony.

Review 112:Leaving

Review 113:We liked pretty much everything about poblado marinero. Brilliant location at the foot of los gigantes, quiet and spotlessly clean. Friendly efficient staff. Not a 5star resort but its not trying to be. Yards from the beach and with the great bonus of the laguillo pool complex a few yards in the other direction. We loved it!

Review 114:Outdated appartment. I can imagine It once was a luxury complex but it could use some restyling... Its a pity that they didnt maintain it as from the outside the complex is still very nice

Review 115:Location is perfectly close to the harbor, ideally situated for those interested in doing some whale/dolphin trips as well as the Masca trekking. (Booking trips can be done outside of the accomodation and taxis stop nearby). Swimming pool at the opposite of the street is free of charge for hotel guests and a real asset! In general: you dont pay too much so you get what you pay for!!

Review 116:This is a 30 year old complex with private owned appartments. Most of them are not renovated. When we arrived late, the night portier installed us in a very poor apartment. The funiture and beds were old and gross. No water in the bathroom. We had booked with sea view but could only see the marina, not the sea because of a tall wall on the outside of the marina. We complained about all this, but he didn't care at all. Next day we complained to the manager. He was very helpful and arranged that we could have a nice renovated appartment on the top floor with a full 180 degree sea view. He saved our hollidays. In the following days I heard a lot of guests complaining about the old apartments.

Review 117:We ended up with an apartment in the front row on the top floor with a beautiful view on the sea. Lots of activity in the marina to look at. The manager is very helpful. Nice pool area.

Review 118:The apartments are tired and do require some general maintenance - were clean though.

Review 119:Position of apartments is fantastic and the pool/pool cafe/staff were excellent. Beautiful scenery.

Review 120:No air conditioning or fan, which is a must considering night temperature was around 25 Celsius. Only received fresh towels once, should have been daily. On using the oven in the apartment the smoke alarm went off, the worrying thing was that it was going off for about 10 minutes until I went to reception to inform them the alarm was going off. Getting parking close to the hotel is usually impossible. I would recommend this hotel however.

Review 121:Clean spacious apartment. Great location. Access to a pool with sunbeds included. 2 minute walk to beach. Restaurants, shops & bars just outside hotel. Free wifi in hotel reception.

Review 122:The apartment dint have the basic needs of kitchen, not even cleaning towels/items or liquid. the house tiles were broken , bumpy the toilets had mouldy tiles, not clean , water dumps. The beds were worst , each room had twin but both different heights and almost used for years with bump and broken springs. the directions to rooms were not clear. the staff were not friendly , though we had paid for parking the night before , the early morning staff refused to open the gates of parking , we almost missed our flight for their misunderstanding. will NOT recommend this hotel. Will strongly suggest if this is being read by housing society , then they raid the place and mark NOT fit for living.

Review 123:The location was excellent , close to harbor, beach, restaurants.

Review 124:The hotel is in need of a major overhaul. The decor is very run down. The lovely wood trim is being eaten away by termites. Some of the outside stairs and walk ways are in need of urgent repair..

Review 125:The older worldly feeling of the place. I loved the fact the apartments were spacious. I liked the fact there was 2toilets in the apartment. Actually I could happily live in the apartment.

Review 126:Tired accommodations but expected for this price. You have to be lucky with the neighbours as many families settle there for one or more weeks and are totally oblivious of the time - music, screams at 2am.

Review 127:Excellent location, one minute from Los Gigantes and the beach, 5 minutes from the commercial streets of the town. Good size apartments, clean with the required facilities. Good value for money.

Review 128:Location near the Harbour and having access to the lido and beach

Review 129:Tired and worn out fittings, bathroom ceiling paint peeling off and. A bit smelly.

Review 130:Location and space in the apartment

Review 131:Uncomfortable beds

Review 132:Great location, well equipped kitchen, two bathrooms

Review 133:The apartment is spacious and well furnished, the location is fantastic.

Review 134:It would be good if a washing machine is provided.

Review 135:Great location to see the cliff

Review 136:location, peacefull

Review 137:Great Location. Very beautifull scenery, a must for older people. Apartment spacious but cleanliness not that good.

Review 138:Very limited/sparse equiped apartment

Review 139:Very close to the port of Los Gigantes

Review 140:Swimming pool and Bar excellent

Review 141:Very old in need of major over haul

Review 142:Location great
