Reviews for Hotel Area Tudanca Aranda

Review 1:We booked assuming a 4 star hotel and wrote confirming a small dog. We were told on arrival that dogs were not allowed and we were offered a room in the adjacent 2 star area. Acceptable but not what we had expected. The breakfast next morning was the worst in all our travels. A coach had just left and the passengers devoured all the food. Nothing left on display, had to ask for what was available. Disgusting especially as we were expecting a good Hotel.

Review 2:Location

Review 3:The location was good, just off the motorway. However, there was nowhere to look round after dinner. If you arrive late and just wish to sleep and be off early next morning, then the location is ideal.

Review 4:Clean and staff were accommodating.

Review 5:It would be helpful if the Hotel Management could arrange for their guests to receive a discount in the adjacent Restaurant. A good enjoyable meal at a reasonable price (menu del dia?) would be welcome after a long days drive.

Review 6:Nothing to dislike. Domingo on Reception was courtesy personified and a credit to the Hotel.

Review 7:Location in motorway services. Any drink or snack only available in service area. Breakfast poor choice. Hotel had rest area but no bar other than in service area.

Review 8:Staff were very good in hotel and restaurant

Review 9:We expect we are going to vineyard resort, but the hotel is located as highway motel at petrol station.Be careful what you are looking for. Picture and description could be little bid different than the reality is. For example, the restaurant is a part of petrol station etc.

Review 10:Finally good stay, but first filling was a big surprise (not so good)

Review 11:Late eating when travellng is a problem and the cafeteria next door is very poor. The following morning we wanted just a coffee and croissant and the croissant was stale and very chewy. This can easily be rectified.

Review 12:The hotel is really comfortable and spotlessly clean. Good beds too. No complaints with hotel.

Review 13:The shower head was so loose and the water pressure so high that it was impossible to keep it in the holder. Only one chair in a double room so had to go and borrow one from elsewhere in the hotel.

Review 14:Large room with terrace overlooking the vineyard. Wi Fi that worked well. Comfortable beds. Decent sized desk to use for laptop with a convenient plug socket. Good A/C.

Review 15:We arrived at 11pm and we couldn't eat in the restaurant which we were looking forward to. We grabbed a cooked meal from the cafeteria before they closed which was absolutely horrible. Restaurant is supposed to be very good though.

Review 16:Authentic comfortable hotel with beautiful views and large comfortable rooms.

Review 17:It was like an oasis, after the stress of a long journey. There was just nothing to dislike, from the furnishings, to the helpful staff to the peace and quiet. This locality is so good, whichever way you are travelling.

Review 18:Poor wifi reception in rooms, not close to anything in the town of Aranda de D which was still 5km away. Any shopping there is expensive.

Review 19:Convenient to the motorway and ideal stop over.

Review 20:Restaurant food served with no vegetables indeferent service Ordered the lamb and that's what we got no offer of potatoes or vegetables That is no way to run a restaurant No bar or service facilities in the main hotel had to go to the transport cafe place next door and carry drinks to the hotel.

Review 21:Nice building and rooms

Review 22:There was only one available socket in the room not ideal given one tends to travel with numerous electronic gadgets which need recharging.

Review 23:The lounge and restaurant area which shows off the historic features of the building really well. They wil garage the car for you and the daily rate is very reasonable.

Review 24:I booked half board but in the restaurant there was only a verbal menu which was difficult to follow. I would have liked time to read a proper menu to choose my courses.

Review 25:The Ambience. Pleasant staff and comfortable room with view of the vineyard

Review 26:Nothing

Review 27:As the heading says, peace and tranquility. The hotel is set in a wonderful position overlooking vineyards, views to die for! Staff were first class, rooms spotless. Looking forward to going back in October.

Review 28:Bit expensive for what it was but good nevertheless.

Review 29:Easy to find. Close to main routes but not noisy. Safe free parking. Wine themed accommodation overlooking vineyard. Well organised.

Review 30:Ambience, decor, peace and quiet, excellent service. The perfect peaceful nights sleep on our travels, to or from the ferry. Staff are very professional and friendly. Reception staff speak perfect English. The building itself is very beautiful in a lovely setting. Has a lovely feeling as if staying on a Spanish Estate with grapes growing all around, its not the usual hotel building its very special.

Review 31:Don't bother with the breakfast poor choice and not fresh although terrific coffee. Maybe choice and freshness due to out of season visit.

Review 32:Pleasant helpful staff. Good food in adjacent restaurant, and an all important secure garage.

Review 33:Being given limited choice English menu initially. Better choice on the Spanish one. Food at dinner good but quite expensive: don't like being charged for bread in Spain. Disliked music at breakfast.

Review 34:Quiet and convenient location.

Review 35:At the far end of the spectacular entrance hall, is the breakfast area. Whilst the breakfast itself was fine, the venue was rather noisy with guests traversing and booking out so not as quiet as it might have been.

Review 36:The hotel is easy to locate being just off the main auto route around Aranda, South of the city. Immediately adjacent is an excellent restaurant and next to that a 'motorway restaurant' so offering a wide choice of menus.

Review 37:Beds could be a bit softer, would be uncomfortable without taking our own down filled pillows, existing pillows are inadequate. Restaurant is expensive, quality of food can be good, but can also be Poor! Have eaten scallops which have been cooked in old fish oil, tasted nasty!

Review 38:We find the Hotel and its Staff very nice. Bathroom facilities are very good. Always nice and warm in the Hotel!

Review 39:Interior decor, beautiful, antique opulent look with sumptuous carpet, wooden trimming and generally old world type decor, the most beautiful hotel public areas really atmospheric of Spanish opulence.

Review 40:For the first time we were badly let down by the Wi Fi which is most important during our travel. I enquired at reception but was just told that it was fine as far as they were concerned. It certainly wasn't however and I suspect it was the location of our room in respect to the router. Normally we have never had this problem. Lesson is to check the wi fi reception before accepting the room.

Review 41:Everything we have found we liked during our past visits including the restaurant. Good room. Super views over the vineyard. Bathroom good excellent shower and comfortable bed.

Review 42:Mattress too hard. Uncomfortable French 'long sausage' style pillow. Asked for another one, received a Spanish style one that probably contained a rock.

Review 43:Clean, friendly staff, good restaurant.

Review 44:Nothing not to like.

Review 45:As soon as you enter the hotel you say wow, very warm welcome, very rustic. Our room overlooked the fields of grape vines, what a view to wake up to.One night stop-over but must stay an extra day next time to explore the town and surroundings.

Review 46:Bar closed in hotel.

Review 47:Have stayed many times. Staff friendly, secure garage parking, excellent location, peaceful retreat despite closeness to major road from Madrid to the Costas.

Review 48:We have stayed at this hotel several times now, and are always given a very warm welcome. Our request for our "usual room" is always met, the parking we use at the hotel is underground and secure (for which we gladly pay a bit extra, although they do have free parking as well), and the restaurant is excellent. There is a handy shop/bar close by, and also a filling station.i The hotel is spotless, and we enjoy sitting out on our private patio, which adjoins the vineyard, in the evening with a glass of wine and a book. We stock up on our favourite Ribera de Duero wines whilst in the area and also enjoy a walk around the rather pretty town of Aranda and the river, which is only a short drive away. A great place for a stop-over and we will continue to use this hotel whenever we are in the area.

Review 49:Very expensive as this is basically a service station. No bar in the hotel itself so had to purchase in self-service restaurant & carry across car park to be able to sit in the hotel. Restaurant menu was quite limited, as this is being advertised as 4* accommodation.

Review 50:Ideal location for stop over on way to/from Santander. Easy access from motorway, secure car parking. Main hotel housed in a lovely building with lot of character.

Review 51:The breakfast was a minimal buffet and I will not have this again

Review 52:Comfortable and friendly. I have stayed there four times now and will definitely return

Review 53:We thought we would have dinner in elegance at the hotel but we had to go to the building nearby which was a bit of a tourist trap.

Review 54:Location near major highway and the beautiful building and vineyard.

Review 55:A little bit expensive 80 euros with no breakfast ,That is another 8 but clean.

Review 56:Nice Hotel in a great position, right next to the motorway but no noise. A great stopover if you are catching the ferry as it is only 120 miles from Santander

Review 57:The menu looked a bit pricey but we had eaten earlier.

Review 58:Staff very helpful and spoke excellent English. Hotel very convenient to main route from South to north and easy to find. Good breakfast.

Review 59:Great value and convenient location

Review 60:Great stop off to and from Santander/Bilbao ferries.

Review 61:Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel was just comfortable with a lot of old world Spanish charm.

Review 62:Beautiful hotel with vineyards around

Review 63:If you love quality riberia de deuro wine this is the place to stop. The wine and vineyard is part of the same group that own the hotel.

Review 64:Too light to sleep due to two safety lights!!near door.

Review 65:Clean ,comfortable,large spacious rooms,excellent staff,very quiet,very good for motorway .

Review 66:very good . and reasonable price.

Review 67:Very comfortable atmosphere with modern amenities. Restaurant is also very good. Will definitely stay here again.

Review 68:Location for overnight stop

Review 69:Restaurant , room cleanliness , quite ...

Review 70:Brilliant building and history of the area.

Review 71:Wifi was very slow, breakfast was a bit simple.

Review 72:Good location, in a vineyard, close to major roads. Nice staff.

Review 73:Good location, nice hotel.

Review 74:The surrounding area driven through to get to the hotel rather industrial

Review 75:Convenient stop over from ferry to our apartment

Review 76:Secure parking

Review 77:Spacious comfortable bedroom

Review 78:view from our room

Review 79:clean and comfortable and just off the main road and good value

Review 80:Just off the motorway but quiet

Review 81:A lovely hotel where you are made very welcome. The staff friendly and very helpful.

Review 82:We did not realize it was so far from town

Review 83:The hotel was very nice

Review 84:not there long enough

Review 85:location /staff/comfort/ambience

Review 86:Ease of parking, checking in, room size and facilities - very close to A1, with service station on site

Review 87:Easy to find. Impressive reception hall. Very comfortable room looking over the vines. Very good restaurant.

Review 88:No bar facilities

Review 89:Excellent breakfast

Review 90:open your window, and see the fields!!

Review 91:See above

Review 92:Staff cleanliness decor

Review 93:Everything Especially torrents of hot water for a lovely hot bath in a warm bathroom when freezing cold outside.

Review 94:Nothing to dislike

Review 95:Facilities

Review 96:nothing

Review 97:We have stayed at this Hotel several times. Its near the auto via but still nice and quiet

Review 98:Good location. Good restoran.

Review 99:We stay on a regular basis and have not over many years had any cause for complaint. We shall be coming again soon many thanks.

Review 100:to leave after only one night - we will be back!

Review 101:the lamb speciality and the wine

Review 102:No interconnecting rooms Motorway service station feel

Review 103:View over vineyard Location Balconies

Review 104:Mainly the location It situated just the right distance from Santander for an overnight stay Also the town has lots of great restaurants

Review 105:We have found that the restaurant is poor value

Review 106:We have used this hotel several times as it's location is about right for travelling from and to Santander from the South of Spain

Review 107:Can't think of anything

Review 108:We have stayed here several times whilst traveling back to the UK. The rooms are large and have a lovely view of the vineyard. Nearby restaurant. Breakfast very nice. Quiet considering its near the main carriageway.

Review 109:The restaurant is expensive for the traveller but it is very clean and attractive. If there was a more reasonable Menu del Dia this location would be perfect.

Review 110:Very nice hotel and the local wines are worth a sample. Perfect location for a ferry stop over when travelling to or from the south of Spain. We will use this hotel again having discovered it.

Review 111:Having stayed overnight many times at this Motel, overall it is an excellent stop over but does not have any English speaking news channels on the TV. eg, CNN,SKY etc

Review 112:Almost everything except for opposite.

Review 113:Nothing.

Review 114:This was our third stay at this hotel, twice in the main building, which although more expensive, we prefer than the budget rooms. Enjoyed a meal this time - the wood oven cooked lamb which was excellent.

Review 115:Very disappointed with the "air-conditioning" which is set to"hot" in the Winter. The room temperature was 28c and the onlyway to reduce the temperature was to open the window, and as thevineyard had just received a large dose of compost, this was not a greatoption. We found out the next morning that the controls on thethermostat are inactive apart from the "off" button. This wasnot explained the previous evening when we complained. Future visitorsshould note this well! Shower head was loose and almost unusable.

Review 116:Ease of access and suitability for stopping en-route to the Ferries tothe UK.Good, roomy, underground secure parking, but unnecessarilyexpensive.

Review 117:Only minus point was the bar not being open in the evening - had to go to the restaurant opposite if you wanted a drink or a coffee.

Review 118:Superb setting, fabulous ambience.

Review 119:Unfortunately, as with everywhere in Spain, the restaurant didn't open til 8pm but the food was excellent.

Review 120:Situated just off the motorway perfect for overnight transit stop.

Review 121:easy to find from the motorway all in all a good deal and we will be back next year , would have liked to explore the area but it was to cold in late November
